I love supporting local businesses and I happy to see this restaurant in the NW side of town. We sometimes lack quality diverse cuisine out here. The owners are so friendly! Food is fresh and well packaged. I had a premium beef kabob (can't remember which) and it was well marinated and good quality meat. The yellow rice is delicious and I ordered a side of garlic sauce for the meat. All very good! They also package meals to-go in containers that can be microwaved. I like those too. This is our new go to place for take out. Here are the 3 main reasons: 1. Generous portions. 2. Flavorful food. 3. Wonderful family owned business! The details: this family run business is keeping you and themselves safe during this time by not allowing dine in options and still serving excellent carry out. Delicious delicious delicious. Luckily we got there and ordered before the place filled up. As a family of three, we ordered #1 with chicken saffron and still had about half leftover to take home. It took a bit for food to be ready, but so worth the wait. It included several side options to choose from and we chose the baklava. AMAZING and probably the best baklava I've had. Only person that came close was my grandmas flan in which I haven't had since she passed away almost 14 years ago. I ate both slices. Now to the food. Very tasty Middle Eastern food! Walking in the smell of grilled meats was so aromatic it made my mouth water! We ordered a beef shish kabob plate and sandwich, chicken yogurt sandwich, babaganoosh, and the fesenjan, a stew with a flavor profile completely new to me, but it was delicious! Savory, slightly sweet and tangy and so good with a generous serving of rice. Everything else was good with my favorite being the chicken yogurt sandwich--the naan was an excellent wrap for the tender chicken with pickled veggies, fries and tahini. Loved the babaganoosh. This place was fabulous. I have a fair amount of experience with middle eastern food, specifically Persian, and this was a great place at a very fair price. The family who owns the place was super friendly. They clearly have pride in their establishment and a strong sense of hospitality. I went to visit my friend who moved to Oro Valley and the name caught my eye. It exceeded my expectations. I popped in for a lamb kebab skewer for lunch. It's counter service, and they were quite friendly and efficient. I love lamb, and the flavor was good, but the lamb was definitely cooked further than I would prefer. It wasn't really tender. it comes with rice, pickled vegetables, and a grilled tomato. The best kababs I know of. The flavors are amazing. If you like spicy, the lamb afrique and the chicken afrique are incredible, and surprisingly tender. If you want mild, the kubideh is so tender and flavorful. If you're extra hungry, or want leftovers, you can get two kababs with the Sultani option, which you can modify so you don't have to have two kubideh kababs. The garlic naan is hands down the most flavorful garlic naans I've ever had. The restaurant is family run and the proprietors are really friendly! read more

I had the Lamb Afrique Plate ($16.99), which was spicy lamb pieces with rice and vegetables. It was tasty and not too spicy. The workers were friendly. We are new to Tucson and are so happy to have found this gem! The owners are the friendliest and what a pleasant surprise to find out the chef/owner is part Filipino! Parking is great, I'm always able to find a convenient spot even though the area gets busy. We have tried many items on the menu already and so far nothing has disappointed us. My Beef Kubideh #1 was served w a tastless yellow rice/vermecheli, couple pickled veggies and a pretty tasteless, thin, ground beef mix skewer (8.99 +tx) Server and cook (owner?) brought my plate. "No pita bread" I asked!? The answer to that and advertised soup side was no. I approached cashier after receiving meal to buy a side of pita and was told they don't sell sides of Pita!? To her credit she brought me 2 pieces complimentary. That was definitely worth a star. If you are looking for authentic middle eastern flavors and portions I think you might be disappointed. I was. One of the best family owned businesses. The owners are so nice! My wife and our 11mo old daughter have been here twice in last 10 days. The food here is so fresh, the kebabs are juicy and have a lot of flavor. The Persian Tea has a lot of flavor because the owner adds his own spices. The owner came out and gave a free sample of babaganoush to our daughter because he said other kids love it.....and she did! He also remembered us the next time we came in and gave us some tea, because we ordered it last time. I recommend that everyone come in and try their food. Just an honestly good and delicious meal. Nice sized portions for a reasonable price. The music was calm. Tonight I had the chicken yogurt kabobs. But their lamb it just as delicious. I was surprised by the Persian tea. It was very aromatic but not overly sweet. I'm sensitive to sugar in drinks but this was very pleasant and I didn't get a headache. Which is a huge bonus!!! I have now tried several things on the menu. An update is due. Overall excellent! My favorites are Dolmas- fantastic for a quick snack, and the best I have tried! My polish friend loved them too... a hard feat. The price is great, a real value. Kanafeh- Wow... never tried a dessert like this, I was blown away by the flavor... it comes with a type of flower syrup on top... and severed with tea. This is unbelievable. So many flavors that emulsify into sweet goodness. Beef Kudibdeh- Never disappoints, the solid backbone of this establishment. I really like their rice too. Chicken Saffron is very worthwhile too. Very flavorful food. This is in the top 3 places to get a quick bite in Oro valley! The owners are amazing, so kind, and their philosophy it to ensure no flavor overwhelms the others... a philosophy that is like rain on the dessert floor! One of those deserts, it has cheese and a type of flower syrup on it. It is unlike ANY desert I have ever tried. To earn a 5 star review in my eyes, three things are necessary, flavor, value and kindness of the venue. Oro Valley has a need for a food spot that is JK for a while... Their hours are fantastic too. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile! I ordered takeout and it was about a 40 minute wait on a Friday evening. I arrived and my food was ready on time. We tried the falalfel appetizer, chicken saffron kabab plate, and chicken yogurt kabab plate. The falalfel appetizer came with pita bread and the plates came with a charred tomato and saffron rice. I have wanted to try this place for literal years, since their opening. We finally got our chance last week. My husband and I had a lot of things to do at home and decided going out to grab Take-Out would be quicker than cooking at home--wrong! We brought our three kids here and boy was that probably a mistake. For a regular quick bite, it would've been no problem. However, our wait was an HOUR. It was a weeknight, so this surprised us. My youngest two kids grew restless and I wound up taking them to the car so as not to bother anyone. We got there and there was a young man I assumed worked there and was on a break because he was dressed like the employees. After about half an hour, they brought him a bag of food and he left. There was only one other woman and a couple ahead of our order, so I have no idea what the hold up was or if this is standard. I did see a couple people pop in to buy from the pre-made meals section they have. So, perhaps the wait time is the norm and people prefer the ready-to-go meals vs waiting. I don't know for sure. Once we actually got our food, it was all delicious. I had a tofu kabob, my husband had an Afrique chicken kabob, and my kids had yogurt chicken and sesame chicken kabobs. Everything was fresh and tasty, but I can't say it's worth the hour-long wait. We'd still like to go back and try other things on the menu, but next time won't be bringing our kids. read more

Solid good food. This is a fast food type dining venue (not my thing for eat in) but they do have inside/outside tables. Personally I would only use it for takeout. That said, the food is good overall. Baba ganoush was excellent. Shirazi salad also good. Our nan bread was dry (maybe due to takeout) but the pita was soft and tasty. This is hands down the best Middle Eastern food we have ever had!!! My husband and I came here with his parents. And we all fell in love with this restaurant. It's basically fresh HOME MADE food served at a restaurant. And the flan! You must try it! We all agreed this was the absolute best flan we have ever had! And two of us are almost 70 years old. :D We loved the veggie, lamb, chicken, and beef kababs. Okay-- we love everything! And the owner Araesh is super friendly and nice too!
