I was skeptical about using a company with no reviews because I like transparency . I recently…read morehired this moving company, and while the actual moving service was solid--the movers worked hard and handled my belongings with care--I left the experience feeling misled and frustrated with the billing process. Three people showed up: two movers handling the physical work and the owner, who was loading the truck. Prior to the move, I specifically asked if there were any additional trip fees. The owner assured me he would waive the $50 trip fee and that I'd only be charged $119 per hour. That sounded fair to me. He texted me at 8:30 AM saying he was "dispatched and on the way." They actually arrived at 9:40 AM, so I assumed the time would start then. Instead, I was told the hourly billing began at 8:30 AM because the trip fee was waived. I seen the company address is in Tomball I wouldn't have agreed to start billing time before they arrived I would've just paid the $50 trip fee or went with a company that's closer. I was caught off guard and felt stuck since the movers were already at my home. Another issue: I had five TVs, as we are pointing out items that need to be loaded, the owner tells me their insurance didn't cover TVs and if we had their original boxes for transport. If I had known in advance. I could've prepared better or bought TV boxes myself. On top of that, when we were heading to my new place (just 25 minutes away), the owner left first and said he was stopping for diesel. That took him an entire hour to arrive at the new home--while I was still being billed. Bottom line: The movers did a good job with the actual move, but the communication and billing practices were not transparent. If you choose this company, be very clear upfront about exactly when billing starts, what's covered, and what you'll be charged for. I feel I was overbilled and misinformed. In the end, I felt like I was over charged for time I didn't truly use--about an extra 1.5 hours.

I was quoted an estimated $2,0000 quote "over the phone". Hired them to pack for one day and then…read moremove the next. Our home was a 4 bedroom home around 3,000 sq. ft. and we moved. 1 mile down the road. It took 4 guys 20.5 hours to move. Very slow pace and damaged a nice piece of furniture. In the end, we were invoiced over $5,000 for the packing and the move as well as charged multiple trip fees for a job that should have been completed in a day but because they were slow, they had to come back the next day. I called during the process only to be able and leave a voicemail and not get a call back. I also called to file a damage claim and again had to leave a voicemail. Still no response. The gentleman doing the move were nice people and professional, but not efficient at all. I would search elsewhere for a moving company.

I have a 2,600 sq ft 3 bedroom house that I would say was moderately furnished. La Movida sent 3…read moreguys over at 10 in the morning. They did great filling up the first truck and unloading to new house. This took them until 2, and they probably moved 70% of the house. They went to lunch came back and worked until 10 pm. Were unable to move the rest of the house, not even close really. The productivity went from great to poor. Called the company to let them know I was not happy. 12 hours with 3 movers I would think could move any size home. The person I spoke to kept telling me they are a family company and their movers are only human. The insinuation from there is that I was broke/poor and couldn't afford it, and that is the reason for my complaint. "The guys could have stayed longer and got the job done." I could have paid them another 6 hours and they would still have been there. They probably shouldn't have these guys work 12 hours, because they got zero work done in the last 6 hours. Maybe have a manager be on site to give direction, maybe split the move into 2 days. Maybe have some insight, they are the "professionals" is what they told me. They offered a refund that was unsatisfactory and kept insisting I didn't have the budget. I did not take the refund, because like I told him, it was not about the money. It was about having a stress free move. P.S. At one point they said they were done and asked if there was anything else. I asked, where's the washer/dryer? They told me they couldn't find it. They said that.
