I went to Just My Size because she was on Trudy's recommended alterations list. I purchased my wedding dress in September and needed it ready in time for my wedding in January. After reading reviews of Danielle on Yelp, the general impression I got was that she did good sewing but had bad customer service, I thought I could deal with that- but I was wrong. When I went in for my second fitting, I found that my brand new designer dress was dirty on the bottom, a black thread was sewn into the skirt and there were scuff marks inside the skirt as if it had been stepped on. Also a pearl was missing from the brooch on the waistline. I was heartbroken. When I told Danielle, her explanation was, "It's the off-season, we don't clean our floors every day, you need to be careful when you try your dress on here." Really?! On top of that during my second fitting rather than helping me into my dress or giving suggestions on what needs to be revised, she was on a phone call with what sounded like her creditors arguing over bills. It was incredibly unprofessional. When I told her that the bodice wasn't fitting right her explanation was, "There's nothing I can do, you're just going to have to wear tape." I let this go, and decided I would go somewhere else, but I wanted her to clean the dress first. She said she would clean it when she got back from Vietnam (3 weeks before the wedding). I said this was unacceptable and asked for it to be cleaned now. I came back a week later to pick up the dress and was brought in the back where my dress was hung up. Underneath my dress, was a lawn chair and a child sleeping on it. Seriously... They were able to clean my dress and get the spots out, but I ended up spending an additional $100 (on top of the $475 that Danielle charged me) at another alterations place to get the bodice to fit right. Unlike, Danielle, when I tried my dress on they knew what needed to be done right away. Danielle did do a good job on the hem and the bustle, but her bad customer service, unprofessionalism , getting the dress dirty, and her unwillingness to help, makes me wish that I had never stepped foot into her store. read more

Owner here does a very clean job with my original hem, you can't even tell!!! I also got my suit size readjusted here once and I was not disappointed. I pretty much opened a Yelp account just to write a review on this place. It's easy to take the time when you want to complain, but it's rare to take the time out to praise an establishment. They took my order in a timely manner and I requested that they call me when it was completed. They finished ahead of the deadline I gave them and all of the measurements were perfect. Her shop is definitely not frilly, and it's definitely small, not much of a sitting area (really, if you're getting fitted for a wedding dress, there's probably only room for you and three people in there). However, she did a FANTASTIC job altering my dress. However, I didn't need a whole lot done, just a bustle and some taking in of the bust area. They were able to store and steam my dress at the shop. Danielle and team did the alterations for my wedding dress, and it turned out great! I was a bit hesitant to go to them as I bought my dress from Trudys' and figured they sent everyone there so the quality of work might be 'rushed'. However, they really take time to make sure you are happy. Yes, they are always busy and the apointments tend to overlap, but if you are friendly to them, they will take great care of you. My dress had a swooping element to it, and everytime I went in I wanted to change the way it swooped. They were very patient, and helpful. Anytime I had a change they would do it! In the end it turned out perfect, and if I had to do it all over again, I would still go to them. On a side note - I also bought my veil from them and LOVED it! I had no idea how much veils where when i started out on this journey and because they are all so pricey I really took my time and looked around. I wanted something that was elbow length and sparkly around the edges. I found a few of these veils here at a very reasonable price! Danielle and her family did a fantastic job with my wedding dress! They have been in the wedding dress alterations for more than 25 years and they know what they are doing! During the initial estimate, they did cut jus the inside slip that any alteration place would do to give you a better idea of how the dress will look. She did a great job asking how high of a heam I wanted. They also gave me the choice between three styles of bustle. The building is a quainty place and I wiould suggest only bring 1 or 2 people with you. The people are very friendly and are sometimes hard to understand. They are very willing to listen to your needs and take suggestions very well. Around the corner inside the building they sell everything a bride would need. From shoes to jewelry to a corest bra. In fact, th efirst time I went to Just My Size was to get a corest bra. They were willing to alter the corset bra so I it would fit! I joined yelp just to review this place. WARNING: do not come here! I had my second wedding dress altered here and almost had a nervous break down the day of my wedding. I got married in Europe recently and was in a rush preparing everything before leaving the US. So, like a fool, I didn't try the dress on when I picked it up or anytime before my wedding day. I figured they measured me and knew what they were doing. The dress had to be taken in a few inches around my waist, so it wasn't a major alteration. When I changed into it the day of my wedding, it was about 2 sizes too small. They ruined my dress! The worst part is that I was already a size 2 and lost about 8 pounds while in Europe, so imagine how much Just My Size really screwed up my dress if I couldn't fit into it after losing weight. I freaked and so did my bridesmaids. To say the least, the dress was fit for the trash can. I'm still in Europe but can't wait to get back to the US so I can take the dress and shove it in their faces. I have to say, however, that my mom and my maid of honor had their dresses altered here with me as well. Theirs turned out fine, but Just My Size decided to screw up the bride's dress. Oh how nice and thoughtful of them. If you do decide to go here for alterations, please learn from my mistake and try your dress on regardless of how rushed you are. Danielle is a wonderful human being and cares about her work and her clients. I bought my dress at Gabrielle's and had a very disappointing experience there. Danielle helped solve the issues with my wedding dress and also made me feel like a special bride (Gabrielle was so rude, on the other hand). Gabrielle forgot to order the belt that I wanted with my dress (which she put on me and advertised to me). When I picked up the dress, and the belt was not there, she told me there wasn't time to order a new one. She ended up selling me her used one from the floor. It was dirty and the wrong color, but Danielle took the sequins off and made it into a new belt with new fabric that was the right color. She sewed it on to the dress (a bit risky, given this was a $3400 dress!). She also did several other alterations for me with normal street clothes. Wonderful job on everything. VERY reasonable rates for her very hard work. It flusters me to think about how much commission Gabrielle made on my dress while Danielle works hard at what she does and probably makes a fraction of what Gabrielle does. Lastly, Danielle has an amazing secret talent: she has an outstanding voice. We shared conversation on music and she played one of her CD's for me - it is amazing. It goes to show that Danielle is a person that puts her heart into her work. I recently had Danielle do the alterations for my wedding gown. She did a perfect job and made everything exactly how I wanted! I had a dress with a lot of lace and I was definitely nervous for it to get messed up. But, she did a fantastic job! She even added straps that I could put on just for the reception. The shop has a great selection of veils as well. I shopped around and couldn't find anything like the one I ended up getting from them. And the prices are incredibly reasonable! Before going to Just my Size, I read some stories on yelp! I was a little nervous taking my wedding dress in to get it altered but let me tell you, Danielle is the best! She 100% knows what she is doing and is super efficient. Any bad reports and run-ins with Danielle would be a case of a CRAZY bride. I agree that 1 star is WAY to generous for this place. I bought my bridesmaid dresses from Trudy's and needed to buy 1 dress at a later date. It turns out the dress was discontinued so I had to order the fabric and have the dress made. I was made to feel confident that Danielle would do a great job in a short amount of time. If this place hadn't been highly recommended, I would have taken one look at the Just My Size shack and ran away. But, I trusted the recommendation and gave them my business. I was told the dress would be ready in 3 weeks. About 3 weeks later, I called to confirm my appointment and was told that because my wedding was 3 months away that she hadn't started the dress yet! Why then did she tell me 3 weeks?? So...6 weeks from our first meeting we go for the second fitting and Danielle is extremely rude, making inappropriate comments. But, at least the dress is semi-made. It still needs a zipper, darts and a hem. So two weeks later, I call to make an appointment to pick it up and THEY CAN'T FIND IT! They eventually found it, but it was too big, no darts were put it and the lining looked terrible. I told her how unhappy I was and she didn't care. I have never had such a terrible customer service experience and would not recommend her to anyone read more

I'm giving one star because she did, in fact, get my wedding gown to me before my wedding (but that should be a given)... How she's been able to get Trudy's to recommend her is beyond me... I've NEVER experienced such unprofessionalism in my life! When I first drove up to the store, I almost didn't even go in because the store looks kinda ghetto... but I proceeded because Trudy's is a fantastic wedding gown shop and "Just My Size" was on their recommendation list. After walking in, I was standing there for a good ten minutes before I had to stick my head in the back to get someone's attention. (that should have been reason enough to run for the hills!!... but I stayed... stupid stupid stupid!!) A young girl came out and started to help me, who I thought was Danielle... Half-way through my appointment, the REAL Danielle comes in from her lunch and starts helping me... I thought that was Danielle in the first place! Anyway... Danielle pins me up then just walks in the back without saying anything... I'm standing up there with a pinned wedding gown on, not knowing what the heck to do so I call out "helloooooo?"......a guy comes out and says that we're done for today... that I can change and come back next week for the dress.... I said AND I QUOTE, "But I want this pinned tighter and that straps still looks really bagging in the back." He says to not worry and to come back on the next appointment so I figure that's just how they do it there?? Who knows... I come back for my following appointment to try on the dress and point out the same areas I wanted fixed at the end of my last visit... I have NEVER seen such a nasty look from an employee to a customer. She was disgusted with me for not being satisfied... It was then that she unloaded all of her current troubles to me of making her future daughter-in-law's wedding gown and how she's spending so much time on that on top of all of her other customers... UGH! NOT MY PROBLEM LADY!!! I'm still so angry with myself for choosing to stay with her... Eventually, she agreed to take my gown in some more .... When I came back to pick up the dress, I didn't try it on because I had absolutely no more time to get it fixed, even if it was still messed up... In all honesty, I couldn't emotionally handle another confrontation with that lady so i just picked it up and brought it home... --What would you consider the equivalent for a seamstress to a waitress spitting in your food after a confrontation?.... Well, that's what I got and I realized it once I got home. One strap was much longer than the other. So much that, once I had it on, it felt tight on my right and my left strap was falling off.... The right side of the waist cut in more than on the left, meaning that my figure did not look symetrical..... not to mention, the most obvious thing, the belt which was sewed in didn't meet at the same point in the back!!! One side of the belt was a good inch higher on the left than it was on the right.... Even my dad noticed it and he's a guy! I want to cry, just thinking about it.... Please trust me.... DO NOT go to Just My Size in Campbell for anything to do with your wedding gown!! I'm sure she's great with quick fixes but she's far too emotional, herself, to be in business serving a soon-to-be bride who's more than likely already stressed and emotional, herself. read more

Over hyped and over priced. I should have went to the place the rest of the bridal party took their dresses, because they had the same amount of alterations done for around $40 whereas I spent over $100. I am disappointed, because I never received a phone call to find out if my dress was done. When I went in to pick-up my dress, I was even more disappointed that they hadn't done most of the things they told me they were going to do when I first went in. They didn't steam it or fix the clasp on the dress like they had initially told me. I had to wait 45 minutes for them to fix all of the things they had forgotten, which sucked because I was trying to meet up with my friends for sushi. Not sure if they just don't care about bridesmaids dresses, but if this is the kind of service produced then I wouldn't trust them with any other important alterations. Overall, I would never come bad here or suggest for anyone else to bring their important dresses to be altered. read more

I am a sale shopper. After every designer sale, I visit Danielle. I trust her advice and feel she has a good eye. She alters all of my gowns and all my fashion finds that are just a touch too big. I am 5'4" and an inch or two here and there makes a big difference in my look. I am excited that she will be coming out with a website soon and will be promoting her custom creations as well as doing consignment! She is quick and efficient. I made an appointment to get a quote on alterations. The place wasn't exactly classy and I was already having second doubts about leaving a rather expensive dress there. I put on my dress and shoes- the lady comments that my shoes don't match my dress- thanks a lot, lady. I searched all over for these Christian Louboutin bridal shoes and it doesn't really matter to me that they are half a shade off from my dress- thanks for bringing it to my attention..geez. Now here's where it gets scary. Instead of pinning the bottom of my dress she gets out a pair of scissors and CHOPS AWAY the bottom layer of excess material. (No, I am not exaggerating either- this was not neat and careful trimming- I have the ragged scraps as proof). I was frozen with horror. My friend tells her to stop- we were asking for a quote only. She did apologize, but I had to practically run out the door to prevent a bridzilla moment. read more

This place is a dump, the service is poor and the staff is rude. I called ahead to confirm that they could take a walk-in for a cocktail dress hem. When I arrived (minutes after the call) the women working there completely ignored me. The owner was working with another client, however the room is tiny and I was standing there for a few minutes just a foot away and was not greeted or acknowledged at all. Also, it's important to mention they were not working in a frenzy, but somewhat leisurely browsing jewels and fabric swatches. So this was not an extraordinary situation, it appeared to be business as usual. Both employees walked past me a few times without any acknowledgement. I had to actually wave to grab their attention and ask for help. When I asked for help the owner just looked at me as if she had no idea what I was doing there. I ended up excusing myself and went down the street to another alterations boutique, as there are about 30 within a 5 mile radius. There is no need to go to this place, consumers have too many other more appealing options. Also, I am a bride to be and I have noticed other Yelp'ers mentioning that this place may not be the nicest and service is not so great, but they do "good work". I guess that is just not enough for me. Again, lots of competition out there who have talent, grace, and excellent customer service. You can have it all!! read more

Just My Size is a small, cozy little alterations shop that didn't blow me away with it's presentation when I initially arrived. I wanted to give it a chance however, as I had heard good thinks about the quality standards. I brought in a pair of skinny jeans and a leather jacket for the following alterations: I had the legs of my jeans hemmed up several inches to account for my rather stumpy legs (I have a 28 inch inseam), and had the seam at the ankles split so the jeans would flair around my shoes. On the leather jacket, a small seam had failed along the back. I dropped off my clothes late on a Friday afternoon, and the work was done by Tuesday morning, the ladies provided fast and courteous service, and the price was very reasonable for what I wanted. When I got my clothes back I found the quality of the work to be superior, one would never know, by looking at the clothing, that work had been done. Despite the shops less than polished appearance, I will be going to Just My Size for all my future alterations and recommend their services with full confidence! read more

I took my bridesmaids dress here on the recommendation of Trudy's. I needed it to be taken out some and hemmed. When I first visited I was happy that Danielle spoke clear english and was looking for to seeing her work. I came back a couple times for minor changes and finally went to pick it up a week before the wedding. When I tried it on it still was very snug around my mid-section and the chest area was very lopsided and loose. While I know there's only so much you can do when taking out a dress, I had suggested that maybe they add a wedge of fabric to the back to give me more room....that idea was dismissed with the idea that taking out some of the seam in the zipper would work. Obviously it didn't. Then as I was being checked out I couldn't believe that they were charging me $150! That was way more than I even paid for the dress! I couldn't believe it and started crying right then and there. The gal then took off $20 but still.....$130....for a crappy undone job?! I took it to the bride's seamstress and she's now doing the exact thing I had suggested in the first place...place a wedge of fabric to the back in the zipper seam. This will cost another $100...what a nightmare... read more

I bought my dress from Davids Bridal and did not want to go through with their alterations so I started to look around. Just My Size is across the street from me so I called to check them out. They were able to take me in that day which was great because my wedding was less than 30 days away and I knew there was a lot of work to be done on my dress. They told me that I needed to bring in my shoes but I had ordered them a few days before and knew they were not ready for pickup but I went to my appointment anyway. I meet Danielle and she was very sweet. When I told her that I did not have my shoes I thought she was gonna tell me to come back another time with my shoes but told me to call the store and find out how high the heel was and she will let me borrow shoes for the fitting. I thought that was really nice. So the fitting went on and we talked a bit. I learned that she has been doing alterations for 28 years and she loves to make brides happy! Overall the price is good, she was very quick and efficient, very friendly, and I feel she really cares about what she does. I will be coming back for sure! read more

I had a very lacey wedding dress and was nervous having it hemmed due to the intricacy of the fabric. Danielle did a fantastic job and I couldn't be happier - the hem was the correct length and she matched up the fabric beautifully. I returned to Danielle to also hem a bridesmaid dress which had multiple flowing layers and again the dress was immaculately hemmed. I had the best experience with Just My Size for my wedding dress alterations. Danielle was so sweet and did an amazing job. As soon as she began pinning I knew she was going to do a great job. She is very experienced and made me feel comfortable that my dress would turn out perfect. And it did! When I went back for my 2nd fitting, she noticed it was gathering in the middle (the dress company did not put the correct boning in). She knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it by adding more boning. For my final fitting the dress was just perfect! She even added bra cups and sewed my belt to the dress. Every time I left her shop I was so happy and couldn't wait to see my dress at the next fitting. I even ended up buying my wedding jewelry there! My mom found a cute clutch and some jewelry for the wedding too. She was well priced especially for the amount of work that goes into wedding dress alterations. Just took a bridesmaid dress to be hemmed and the slit slightly closed. Could have done it myself but too busy and wedding is this weekend. Quoted $45 which I thought was high but ended up paying $60. Extra was for about an inch of stitching to close the slit enough to not see undergarments. Ridiculous. I hate to knock this place down a couple stars but I did receive a stain on my wedding dress. I noticed it 4 days after I picked it up to have it steamed. My wedding was 3 days later and i was panicking b/c it was a blue marker stain on the back of my dress and on a pearl button. I know I had to have received it here b/c each time i went in for alterations my mom would accompany me and button me up. She would have noticed this stain. We were so shocked and nervous it wouldn't come out and thankfully after a trip to Trudy's where I bought the dress, they were able to get it out. Also, I still noticed some strings hanging a bit from my dress on the wedding day, after Danielle cut my dress with a scissor I thought she would have cleaned this up better but didn't. It was very expensive to have the dress just taken up in length. That is all I needed and cups put in. It was $479 for that. I also was not impressed with the beige color of the cups inserted. I thought it might be ivory or matching my dress inside. For again, the cost I didn't think it looked that professional. read more

I was sent to her by Trudy's and a friend for whom Danielle also did bridal alterations. Danielle got me the best corset-style bra I found, did alterations quickly and with minimal fuss, and at a great price. I was so happy with her that six months after my wedding I am still making the drive from Berkeley to Campbell to work with Danielle. She altered two cocktail dresses for me, and made me a gorgeous skirt of her design with tartan fabric I had left over from my wedding (my husband is Scottish, so we used his family tartan for our kippot). On August 28th we had a wedding at our home for out of the country friends. The bride purchased her dress in Miami and it was mailed to my home. Twenty- four hours before the wedding the bride tried on the dress only to discover that the boutique in Miami took out the pins and did not alter the dress or make the arrangements for busling the train. We went to Just My Size hoping they could help us. They were extremly busy with appointments but the owner said she would help us. The dress was ready the following day 5 hours before the wedding. They did an amazing job. The dress fit perfect, the hem was perfect, and did all the necessary sewing to bustle the train.
