The problem with this place isn't the food, it's usually good and fresh! The problem is ordering online. I've found that 99% of the time, my online orders are incorrect or skimpy with ingredients. You can mitigate this by coming in person because then you can supervise, but I feel like I shouldn't have to do that to guarantee I get the item I order. read more

We've loved this place for quite some time now but recently we have grown more and more dissatisfied as the portion sizes have begun to shrink and the cost of this place is not cheap. We tried several times in the past to order online --our go-to order being large bowls-- we had to stop however because three times we did that our bowls where made in small bowls with the quantity of food in the bowl already shrunken. It feels like their turn-over rate for staff is high as there are always new people and portion sizes keep getting smaller and smaller. Super bummed because we used to love this place. Just poke is a go-to for us, so we were excited to hear of a location in West Seattle. It's basically the same as any other location, you choose your bowl size (2 proteins is a regular, and 3 proteins is a large), then the base (I prefer half greens and half rice), then proteins, and sauce and toppings. Point being, if you have a good combination, it'll be delicious. If you haven't found the right combination, good luck. Unfortunately the shop is tiny, and is only suitable for take outs. But, because it's tiny, it's also difficult to order in person because you can hear everything except the server. read more

I've had nothing but delicious poke at a reasonable price. I've just recently discovered Just Poke and am going a few times a week. I order in person or online and the staff is great, usually ready before it says so on the app. The location is convenient and I can just about always find parking for a quick pick up. Things are expensive everywhere and I consider the prices and serving sizes to be decent, going to McDonald's these days costs just as much! I like the classic or build your own options, it's amazing all the different add-ONS available cold or warm. I did JUST sign up for the rewards program, not sure yet of the benefits but I'm sure I'll find out. My first Poke experience was Poke Pop in University Place, so when going to other similar restaurants, I really measure them as a standard. That being said, I would not go to Just Poke again. For the price, a small bowl of a vegetarian bowl + kimchi + tip ended up being $20 and I was still hungry. I was surprised the vegetarian was just as expensive as the other bowls, considering there was no protein, which is usually more expensive. Other places take this into account. They offer rice or salad/lettuce, but some other poke places offer both, so I asked for both. But I was surprised there was no salad dressing, since they were offering a choice of salad/lettuce. I got a side of kimchi, which was a dollar extra, but the 3 small pieces weren't worth it. I go to Poke places because I can't make these at home, but all the ingredients at Just Poke were basic and I could've gone to Safeway for cheaper, had more, and actually got full. The ambiance was fine, the place clean. The employee was fine. Neither overtly friendly or bored (which I prefer). No one else was in the restaurant so I didn't have to wait. read more

This place is pretty decent. It's not the best grade of fish but it gets the job done. Poke is probably my favorite thing to eat, and as someone from Hawai'i I'm definitely used to eating it a certain way. With that being said, there's nothing wrong with the way they serve poke, but if you're accustomed to having different types of flavors you may not like how the poke is served here. The food tasted really good. The whole ordering process could have been explained better to me. I was told a signature bowl was $13 for a regular size and $15 for a large. The total was $17 before tax. Apparently the large bowl wasn't $15 and they don't have a listing price for the large signature bowl. Felt pretty misleading. Won't be coming back even though the food was actually very tasty. The interaction felt deceitful. Edit: I just want to clarify that the difference between large and regular was 2 protein servings vs 3. And a serving is 2oz. $4 for 2oz extra meat. read more

This place gets an F-. What the heck! I place an order online. Get to the place with 5 minutes to pickup my order and they just started on it. They scooped out the protein and started mixing it with the sauce. I had to tell them order was for sauce on the side (as written on their receipt) and they had to remake it. I watched them make it as they followed down the list of options and at the end I had to tell them they missed some additions. Since when did they start 'mixing' all the proteins together with no mixing and not keeping them separate?? I get home and one of the sauces spills all over the inside of the bag. This is by far the worst experience and poke place. I've been to the one in Mill Creek and they do everything right. I don't know whether to be upset at such poor structure or just the fact that one response I received was from their staff. 'I never had poke before started working here'. Just poke in West Seattle is the best Poke in Seattle. I love the setting and location of where Just poke is because the scenery is great especially in the Spring and Summer. I adore the Junction, and Just Poke being there makes it better, definitely one of my favorite restaurants there. However it was a bit underwhelming to live in Seattle, having the best seafood in the West coast and having a poke that was a bit dry (didn't look as fresh), sauce were ok but nothing special, and the condiments were also limited. For being new, the service was absolutely standard and nothing to call attention to. No smiles, no spark... nothing. And the ambiance was just as boring. There are lots of other places around with more personality and better food. Sadly this is not in my go back list. And even more as I live within blocks. I ordered a custom bowl with two proteins: creamy scallops and spicy tuna on sushi rice. I added fresh jalapeños and seaweed with kimchi and their house sauce and sesame sauce. I highly recommend this place. Everything was delicious and super fresh and definitely met my expectations. I've never ordered poke like that before, and it was good to walk in and see the cleanliness of the restaurant and staff, and see the high quality of the food and ingredients in person. Disappointed. Ordered a large make your own bowl with salmon, Spicy Tuna and Hawaiian Ahi. It came with only 3 pieces of salmon, looked like our 2 protein portion bowl. So this place just opened and I do have to say it looks fantastic. However I stood there for 15 minutes until me or the party was acknowledged. Be advised there staff needs some courtesy training on how to greet customers and make them feel acknowledged. Do yourself a favor order online and pick up in store.
