I've tried this place twice in two weeks. First time I only ordered a strawberry and banana smoothie. It was okay, but not great and it was already pre-made and not made fresh. The second time I went in and ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and got one of the promotional Sesame Street reusable bowls (which is VERY cute!! ) and I like that I can bring it back each time to use and get a small discount. The bowl itself is small but a good portion for a Salad made fresh, which was good. The only downside to this place is how expensive it is. I know everything is inflated but it's a lot to ask to pay for a small Salad. The bread that came with the salad was delicious, to bad it was only worth two bites and very small. Glad I got the cute reusable bowl but not sure how often I'll get to reuse it. The staff was friendly and helpful. I also had a promo for free cookie, but the staff had a hard time redeeming it for me but gave me the small cookie anyway. I would go back for the salads and maybe the wraps, when I can afford them.

    Thai Chicken Crunch

We ordered off of Uber eats so we can't really speak on the service but we ordered the Thai Chicken Crunch salad and it was alright. A bit flavorless, there wasn't enough sauce. Compared to Sweet Green where they load up the toppings it was a bit underwhelming

I specified dressing on the side.

I started going to Just Salad at 10S riverside since they opened more than a year ago. The place was great and I was there almost every day. However, over time I'm more and more often dissatisfied with my order - either the portion was WAY TOO SMALL or they completely IGNORED my notes via online order. I stopped going there often, but still wanted to give them a chance once in a while. Today I am COMPLETELY shocked on my order. A 13 dollar salad that looks like a half bowl of mixed greens and drenched with dressing even when I said dressing on the side. I've heard of others complaining about just salad and I really hope as their customer base grow, they can still maintain their quality. Or they will just lose more and more customers.

This is another place I walk past quite often, the other day I was in the mood for some greens, so I came here. During lunch time the line here gets very long (they do move fast as well). Anyways so I ordered the cesar salad, and overall it was good, the portion is pretty big. definitely will be back for more

$10 for a bowl full of romaine. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, there are plenty of better salad options in the area. Complete waste of time and money....Never Again!!

Overall: this is the type of salad place I love for! Customized ingredients, toppings and dressing. They chop up the salad for you (which is my least favorite part about salads) so I mm a happy camper! I bought the $1 reusable bowl which gets you an extra 2 toppings and 1 cheese for now cost every time you visit. That's a steal! If I want quinoa or brown rice added or some extra celery, I can get it every time for free. You can't beat that! Smoothies are only $5.99 which is a steal even in the loop! This location in particular had a bit of a...management or loitering issue. I'm not sure where the actual manager was (possibly in the back or doing inventory), but some of the staff had visitors that were interfering with customer service while they were in the establishment. It was really unprofessional and turned off my super positive vibes of my first experience there. Food is unbelievable and the concept of Just Salad is awesome, but the interruptions and lack of respect these 'visitors' had for the paying customers was overbearing.

I started frequenting this location two months ago when I realized I had a lot of food allergies and salad was the only thing I could basically eat that wouldn't make me feel awful. I order the same salad every single day. They have recently started making my salads wrong by substituting romaine lettuce for kale or drenching my salad with dressing when I asked for dressing on the side. Unfortunately, both scenarios happened today. I love this place but I feel like some of the staff does not enjoy being here.

Smokehouse steak salad. So spicy, ow ow ow
    Emilie J.

I just finished eating here after the grand opening and had a good experience. Taste: great! I got the Smokehouse Steak salad. The steak was nice and the portion was filling. My only complaint is that the jalapenos were INCREDIBLY strong, and chopping the salad means everything tasted like them. My mouth is absolutely burning and my nose is running, so I wasn't able to finish more than half of the salad. . At least they're fresh. Price: pretty high. My salad would have come out to $12 with tax without the dollar promo. This is a limiting factor for me. Ambience: very small, but clean and well-maintained. Definitely designed for grab-and-go. I'm not sure if I'll be back again due to the price, but enjoyed my experience.

Affordable and flavorful Indian food (4/5 Green Stars)…read moreBombay Eats began as Bombay Wraps in 2010 and has just completed a name-change and rebranding. Considering the old name, I ordered wraps, figuring they do them well - and they did! I ordered the cheese paneer wrap ($6.99) and the potato cauliflower wrap ($6.49) to go and they were assembled fast in front of my eyes. The server explained that the mild sauce was a 3/10 while the spicy was 7/10, so I went with the mild and I'm glad I did as it had a bit of a kick! The wraps (choice of paratha or whole wheat roti) themselves are delicious and the spicy fillings are nicely balanced with some shredded cabbage/lettuce. For $17 including tax + tip it was a lot of food - a large dinner for one or lunch for two. I highly recommend Bombay Eats for quick flavorful Indian street food and will visit again when I (hopefully) make it back to Chicago. I want to try all of their "messy" sides next. Messy sweet potato fries, topped with paneer, tikka masala sauce, chutney & fresh cilantro? Yes please! I'm also rating Bombay Eats 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Bombay Eats seems to be a well-loved by locals and the owners are known as a decent people. * They have a Bombay Cares program where they participate in fundraisers. Coming up in June - the Alzheimer's Association. * A good spot for vegans and vegetarians. The website has a nice guide (vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, Halal, etc.) to each component (wrap, filling, sauce, etc.) so everything's clear. * The biggest thing that Bombay Eats could do for the planet is to stick with chicken as the main meat offering and ditch the beef and lamb. The environmental footprints (carbon, land, etc.) of beef and lamb are more than10 times higher than those of chicken. It would be nice to see seitan or other plant proteins instead of the beef and lamb. * Packaging for my wraps was fairly minimal: foil-coated paper and a small paper bag.

At checkout, I forgot that I had also so ordered a roti, and that it hadn't been put in the bag yet, so I left. As I started walking down Ohio Street, I heard a woman loudly shouting that I forgot my bread. I stopped and saw the employee calling to me to come back. I did, and they apologized for the mistake; so did I. I wish I had gotten the woman's name because she really went above and beyond, and I truly appreciate that she called me back. The China Masala itself was delicious, but I found the rice to be a bit dry. Also I wouldn't have paired it with the lettuce and pickled onions even though they tasted good on their own. The roti, however, seemed dry to me. Top-notch staff here! If I lived in the area, I would definitely come by again.

Fried pickles came recommended. On one hand they weren't greasy and the breading stayed on. On the other hand, they really lacked flavor. Like almost no discernible flavor, and the breading was on the thick side. Wouldn't get them again. If I eat fried pickles, I want them to taste at least a little pickle-y. Happy to see that the "salad bar" is now a thing where you order a custom salad with a little sheet and a golf pencil and don't have to march around the room with a plate and make your own salad. We split an entree salad and a buffalo chicken wrap. The salad was very good, and exactly as ordered. The pico de gallo we ordered with it had no heat. Heat would have been nice, but maybe the giardinara would have neen a better option for us. The wrap was pretty good. Buffalo sauce was on the sweet side. They split the wrap order for us without us having to ask for it and gave us each an enormous mound of fries. Shoestring style fries that accommodates fans of McDonald's fries. We had to take most of the wrap home and found it worked even better chopped up on a salad for dinner. With extra hot sauce. I kept getting the feeling at RJ Grunts that the menu is skewed toward children's tastes. Or just homogenized. It used to be a pretty big tourist destination. Whatever, I didn't care. I'm pretty chill. Anyway, burger was still good when I walked it back to my hotel. When the place isn't slammed, service is like night and day and the place is a bit more quiet. Pop on in if you want to try some good beer, a tasty burger or other pub fare.

Y'all... oh my gosh I finally tried Doc B's Restaurant + Bar in the Gold Coast and BABYYYY... the…read morefood was AMAZING--and honestly, pretty affordable too I'm lowkey mad I didn't get pictures, but listen... it was so good I couldn't even pause to take one I ordered the Cajun chicken club sandwich with sweet potato fries, and let me tell you... those fries? 10/10. No notes. The sandwich had candied bacon on it with this perfect sweet flavor, and it normally comes with honey Dijon--but I don't do Dijon, so I swapped it for this garlic sauce ‍ And when I say that garlic tanginess mixed with the sweet candied bacon... whew. Chef's kiss. Absolute perfection. My boyfriend got the steak wok bowl with corn, broccoli, brown rice, and some other veggies--and I definitely stole a few bites It was SO good. Like... flavorful, fresh, just everything. The whole vibe? Perfect for a lunch date. The ambiance was cute, relaxed, and just right And I loved that they serve room temperature water (because ice? not my thing ‍) But let's talk about the real star--our waiter Eli He was AMAZING. Super personable, funny, and just a whole vibe. He had the cutest red cat-eye nails and burgundy hair accents--like, style on point He told us he manages both the Gold Coast and River North locations, so I'm definitely hoping we run into him again. And when me and my boyfriend were holding hands at the end, he goes, "Aww this is so cute. I'm not jealous though" we all cracked up. Just made the experience even better. Listen... 5 stars is not enough. It's just not. If you've been thinking about going--THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Go. I promise you won't regret it

Our friend said one of her favorite places to suggest to visitors was Doc B's Restaurant. So, we gave it a try. The menu includes a wide variety of salads, wings, wraps, sandwiches and, my favorite, burgers. I was with a group of 4 and we all ordered burgers - and none of us opted for the same burger. So, our little group got to try 4 different burgers. And all four were delicious. Three of us ordered with a side of fries - also delicious. Great place for dinner in the Windy City.
