Needed to have a head light lamp replaced so called them up for an estimate and wer quick to answer the phone and said they can replace but I need to bring the lamp with me with and would charge depending on the length of the installation. Got and they were friendly like they kwon you you're whole they installed the lamp in just a few minutes and there was no charge. This morning I was greeted with two letters... the first letter I got was a letter reminding me that I needed to get a smog check... the second letter was the DMV telling me I needed to get a smog check... my first reaction was, how the heck did this place know I needed to get a smog check? Crazy... then I realized the guy I used to go to retired... OK, let's go to Yelp and see what's around me... huh... the most reviews at over 800 and a 5 star rating and a discount... best of all it's minutes away from my house, instead of driving to Costa Mesa like I used to go... even better there was no waiting... when I got there I was greeted by a friendly service guy who took me around to the other side of the building opposite where the cars are serviced... that was different... went around to the other side and was surprised to see a full on decorated waiting room, complete with really cool collectibles... wow... what a cool place... it did not feel like a place that would do smog checks... or car repair service... more like a coffee shop or a antique store... anyways I was impressed... Mitch greeted me at the counter, had me wait in their cool waiting room, and watched an animation on t.v... 20 minutes later I was done... total time when I saw my letter and got my smog check... 35 minutes! And my bill was only $55... much less than my other place I used to go to... Oh, so I asked Mitch how they knew I needed to get my smog check... come to find out my wife went here before... hahahaha... yup... found them through Yelp... wondered why her name was on the letter... These guys are not just smogs they go above and beyond smogging! Have you ever had a tour of a smog shop! lol! Well it seems my sister did! In all my years of getting my cars smogged, never have I gotten an offer to tour a smog shop! Let alone put air in your tires at a smog shop, take the car for a test drive to find out what the mysterious sound is .... I mean thank you... lol! Omg! I was having such a nightmare day of customer service, everyone seemed annoyed they were working the day before Thanksgiving. I moved so forgot to check my P.O. Box. First piece of mail was a tax bill for a previous property I sold. Not fun, dealt with that all day. At 4pm, I opened my vehicle registration renewal, which was due on Thanksgiving (yup I had one day! And yes I updated my address so this wouldn't happen again). I got stopped trying to process my renewal online for my BMW I3 Rex...smog check required. I thought great I'm going to have to pay a late fee. Then I looked up Yelp, saw that JUST SMOGS was open until 5:30p, jumped in the car and drove over. I drove up to the open garage, I believe John (?) came up to my window and greeted me with the friendliest hi and biggest smile. I told him I didn't know my EV needed a smog. He asked if I had gas too. Yup, duh me! They took me right in. 15' and he was done. All the guys there are super nice and provide top notch service and customer service! Highly recommend! Yesterday, I called and spoke to John about an issue I was having related to a gas cap/check engine light. He was able to get me in, verify the issue and clear the code right away. I called at 8:03 in the morning and John was able to quickly take my call and address my questions. After getting my smog test passed and completed, I can tell everyone here gets along well and they care about their customers. I noticed they are also a AAA repair place. Zito's used to be my go to Smog place but they're not doing them anymore! They suggested Insta Tune but they only accept cash and a reviewer said the price kept changing. Who needs that? I needed a reliable place and one that accepts credit cards . . . I found it in Just Smogs. My GPS and the trash truck blocking my way had me go in through the back; nice thing is the guy didn't even get upset with me and showed me the door to the reception area. That was a good sign. Desk guy was friendly and the waiting room with antiques, fish tank, and TV with interesting car shows on was comfortable to be in. I would definitely return and recommend to family and friends. I went to two other Smog places and my OBII sensors were "not ready" I was told I needed to "keep driving" but 700 miles later I was still stuck. In researching I understood i needed to complete a drive cycle but read conflicting details. Somehow I luckily came across Just Smogs in my research and read they offered a drive cycle service. I called and spoke to Mitch who was super helpful. I took my car in a few days later and Tony serviced my car, completed the drive cycle and conducted the smog test. If you find yourself with the dreaded sensor issue, don't waste your time, gas and miles trying to fix it yourself - take it here! I came all the way from Torrance and it was worth it!
