She had slots left on Saturday, which I already had spoken to her about booking. She canceled on me the morning of saying she needed to recoup, but then said that she was getting evicted at the same time. Justice attempted to charge me $50 extra for having triangle parts, wash/shampoo services are not included, and a protective style to keep your retwist in is also an extra charge. I felt an extremely negative energy anytime she would do my hair . She's aggressive and not compassionate when it comes to a topic as sensitive as black hair . I've experienced transphobia while having her as a stylist as well. The last time she did my hair I had her cut my locs out because I no longer wanted her doing my hair but couldn't find a new stylist so in her cutting my locs we had an agreement for her to give them back to me in case I ever wanted to re install . I am updating my review to save another family from going through the same horrible situation that we went through with her appt on Sat. April 10th. We had scheduled this appt 2 months prior for 10a to have her hair freshly braided for a special event at school. At 230am on Sat morning I received a text from Justice saying her Fri appt was taking longer than expected & she needed to push our Sat. appt time back. She texted again around 530a Sat. saying she just finished & definitely had to move our time back. I text her back at a decent hour, letting her know I understood, we could move it back to the later afternoon. We set to meet at 4pm so she could sleep. After 5 hrs of work she had one back section of her hair done & she let us know we'd have to talk about how she'd be able to work through "this" since it was already about 9p & she had so much hair left to braid. I let her know we could come back Sun early so she would have the day to finish her hair & she let me know she couldn't do that because she had another client booked. She said she could finish the other back half that night & she'd do a "style" to the front that would hold her out until she could fit her in to finish the job because she has a "very booked calendar". I couldn't believe her response! My 10 year old daughter was sitting in her chair for 5 hours, only 1/4 of her hair braided & she told me she couldn't finish it the next day. I was shocked. We were stuck with no other options. My daughter was upset & cried. I asked her if she would reschedule her Sun appt. She refused. Said that she was doing her best to "help" all of her clients while all she's really doing is over booking herself & canceling appts or moving originally scheduled appts back. I've never experienced such a level of unprofessionalism & lack of care for a client, especially a child, in my life! She started a hair style that SHE knew she wouldn't be able to finish and did NOT communicate this with us until 5 hours into the braiding job. That is so wrong. I told her had she told me this at 4pm, 6 entire hours after our original appt was booked, we could have went with medium or large braids so it wouldn't take so long as our micro/small braiding appt was taking so she would at least have a finished hair style. But she didn't do that. This was our 3rd time coming to Justice. The day of the 1st appt she had to reschedule because of a family emergency. The day of our 2nd appt for a touch up she texted saying she had to move our appt back because of an "emergency" with a client, we had to move that appt back. Then this 3rd time she moved our appt back 6 hrs & treated us this way. Unbelievable. As my daughter cried in disappointment in front of her, she wasn't moved.She tried to blame a part of the problem on me because she said in my booking sheet I forgot to add the extensions in & she had to text me to confirm we needed hair. Me not checking that box is not why our appt was moved 6 hours back. It was moved back because of her lack of precision with her scheduling clients & accurately projecting how long hair styles will take. When we got to the point where I realized she was unwilling to finish my daughters hair Sat evening & Sunday, we decided to leave. There was nothing I could do & I was so upset at how she handled this all & how hurt my daughter was. She tried to give an "apology" to my daughter, but with no solution that was fair, & then told my 10 year old this is why I have policies on my website about having to adjust times...I stopped her & said you don't have to reference your website to my 10 year old. Just say you're sorry. That's all you should be saying to her. I asked her to refund my deposit I paid in advance since she did not have integrity in this situation & only did 1/4 of my daughter's braids. But this doesn't at all address the WRONG in this entire situation. It should've never happened. In our conversation she referenced multiple times that she's had to reschedule appts with clients due her schedule & over booking herself & she doesn't see a problem with that. She blamed it on being a one woman operation but that does not justify her failed professionalism, lack of care for her clients or their time & commitments, lack of integrity in her business by not completing what she agrees to doing for you when you schedule your appts. At our first appt I was appreciative of how she made my daughter feel comfortable with her first braiding appt & she took the time to explain how to take care of her hair & her scalp with good products. After our 1st appt I gave her 5 stars. I want to share our personal experiences in an attempt to hopefully save another family from going through this awful experience. I know that I refer to Yelp before I go to new businesses. I value the input from actual real customers experiences & I feel it is my responsibility to share this with other Yelpers for that same reason.
