Accept that you've been wrong countless times and move on as I've done. If your capable of doing this, put yourself in my shoes and imagine you attempting to get ahold of your stylist and you can't, imagine already having an appointment and your stylist doesn't remember booking your appointment, imagine driving to your appointment to only find your stylist doing someone else's hair, imagine being late to work because of your stylist and there's absolutely no compensation of any sort. You would not be happy! You made multiple mistakes with me and it is what it is at this point, but hopefully you learn from them moving forward. The first time I called the salon on Monday I explained I am from out of town and asked if they have any availability for this Friday. She told me to text her the information which I did she simply responded "I will check". I sent a follow up text yesterday no response. I call yesterday as well she said she would respond in an hour - nothing. So I thought I would give it 1 more try today - called the salon she said oh yes I will call you in an hour that was at 10am. I would rate more like a 4.5, response was quick through Yelp. I am not accustomed to Yelp email communication but it went well- response was quick. The only downside was my stylist got sick due to her pregnancy and since I live in Hawaii I Ubered there and back to where I was staying- So I spent $50 in ride share day 1. Needless to say- my hair didn't get braided on Day 1. Rescheduled the appointment for Day 2, and spent another $50-$60 in ride share fees. So I spent over $100 just getting to the salon and back. I felt like some accommodation should have been made for my inconvenience, but it is what it is. My natural hair is about shoulder length. So no issues with gripping. I was concerned about my edges. The Braider left them out for me. The parts were straight and neat. The corn rows were neat. And the knotless braids were neat. They have hair at the salon to buy. I wish I would have been told that since I spent time looking for hair. The ladies were nice. No talking over you. At certain points a second Braider would help then go back to other clients. Ohhh I almost forgot-- I got there early on the second day, the lady who opened the shop started prepping my hair and the bought hair so the lady who actually braided my hair didn't have to do those tasks. The staff worked together and was not catty. The shop was clean. The bathroom was clean. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them. read more

We can't say enough good things about Jennifer! My 16 year old daughter wants to cut her hair which reached below her buttocks (she kept sitting on them and yelping). My daughter has curly hair whereas mine are straight and she doesn't like my barber, wanted someone knowledgeable of curly hair. Not only did Jennifer take her time to cut my daughter's hair (2-3 hrs total) but she also taught my daughter how to better manage her hair. In addition to being skilled and knowledgeable, Jennifer is great person, so caring and supportive. All the teens and children come by to say hi and all the other braiders ask her re: products to needing a phone charger or screwdriver. Jennifer took her time and cut my daughter's hair in phases to ensure correct length - yes my daughter did want to cut off most of her hair to shoulder level. Place is Nigerian mom & pop business and Jennifer (Wong) looks white but is half Chinese. We will keep coming to Jennifer and will drive down from Pleasanton (8 hrs) just to get a hair cut from her. read more

I had a good crochet experience at this salon Dec 16th. My first time there and my appt started a lil late. I was able to relax with a therapy dog that was waiting on its owner as well as another first time client, an expectant mom, so that made time pass faster. The cornrows were a little tight and made it difficult to install the crochet. At times, it felt and sounded like my hair was being ripped out of my scalp (yikes). I Googled afterwards ( ikr) and it said if hair is taken out at the follicle it may take years to grow back so that's a huge downer. But, once those cornrows grew out a bit, I felt great and the crochet looked great. Before that, I was constantly oiling my scalp to ease the pain. Many, many compliments on the hair though. And, it was super easy to handle while on vacation, though at times, it felt like entirely too much hair, but I guess that's how it goes when trying to cover the cornrows. I'd probably go for much larger cornrows in the future, and hopefully fewer braids, like I saw being done at a different salon recently, which I do not/cannot patronize. Your miles may vary , luckily I live very close so it worked out . These ladies have a little studio salon in the back of her house , when I arrived I got sat in a salon chair . There were two ladies working and one was finishing up. Once it was my turn , I showed her pics of what I wanted, we discussed if I wanted extensions and of course I said yes. For my braids, I had a custom pattern and I have 4 rows so It took about 2 hours to finish. I am soooooo happy with the results!!! And they are very reasonably priced!! I came in for a first-timer crotche extension. I Bought some hair On Amazon not knowing if this would work. But Lydia took the time to educate me and teach me about hair and the different install methods she could offer me. Lydia's fingers are swift at braiding. She did an amazing job with my cornrows (first time for me too). The entire session took about 3 hrs. Prices are reasonable. I have mid length hair, so braiding took some time. Why did I do this?? Obviously not for the length as the install is only about 3-4 inches longer. But to give my hair a rest and allow it to repair. I recently went back to my natural hair color after being bleached platinum for 2 yrs. And want to get rid of the damage it caused. Lydia was professional. Her shop is clean and not Cluttered. I had ordered colored hair through amazon thinking I needed to buy the hair before hand however they have many different colored hair to choose from and for cheaper than amazon.
