Have used JWATCH for changing batteries before and they were quick and inexpensive. My most recent time using them, my Swiss Army watch's dial thing broke and figured I'd go back to JWATCH since they were friendly and really quick. Brought in the watch and they were almost able to fix the thing in 5 minutes but turns out they needed to get a spare part which took less than 4 days to fix in total and only $30 to fix. They even contacted me before they put in the spare part to make sure $30 was an agreeable price. They wanted to make sure I still wanted to get it fixed, which was totally the right thing to do, considering it was a pretty cheap watch to begin with, but I liked the watch so wanted it fixed if it could be salvaged. Long story short, 4 days later I have what looks like a brand new watch (they even cleaned it for free). I must say though, the best part of JWATCH is definitely the customer service. The girl running the counter is uber-friendly. The people in the back doing the repairs are down to earth and personable. I didn't feel like they were fake, they were actually nice people just trying to make an honest living (unlike some of those jewelry and watch places in mid-town where you feel like they are just waiting to rip you off). Not to mention the GIGANTIC bowl of candy they have out on the counter which they clearly avow that you should "take as many as you want. put them in your pockets even. take some for later." Great place. I went in to have my Tissot calibrated (it was running slow). The owner, who was very nice and knowledgable, not only had the watch adjusted perfectly, but also showed me the diagnostic results of the device she used to test the watch, explained the movement to me, all sorts of good info. While I was there, I also purchased a new watch strap from her. She even burnished the buckle on the strap so that it matched the finish on my watch case and did so for free. How cool is that? JWatch did all this while I waited, and she charged me some completely reasonable amount. And I don't just mean reasonable "for New York," but reasonable for anywhere. I don't want to say what the total cost was because I don't remember exactly, but I can safely say that it was less than the strap alone would cost in a typical jewelry store. If I ever need another repair, I'm coming back. read more

I had three watches in need of repair that I brought in on a Wednesday. The woman working at the front desk replaced the batteries in both my Swatch watches while I waited; those were $15 each. She kept my Kate Spade watch which needed a new crystal and a realignment of the hands; I had the watch back by the following Tuesday and spent $50 for this work (nearly $40 less than Kate Spade would have charged me to do these repairs.) They also tightened the clasp mechanism on the watch, which I hadn't even thought to ask them to do! My only complaint is that my broken crystal was slightly domed and it was replaced with a flat crystal. The watch still looks great...but I liked the look of it with the domed crystal better. I regret not realizing this when I picked the watch up. Service was very friendly and helpful. read more

JWatch is great! I regularly have complex vintage movements to repair/overhaul, I trust Jamie and her team to get them working accurately, and always for a reasonable fee. There are other watchmakers who are better known and might be faster because of a larger staff, but you won't get the type of personal attention JWatch gives costumers anywhere else I know of in the city. Both collectors, like myself, and individuals just coming in for a battery replacement are treated well at JWatch. read more

DO not use this shop. I brought in two watches on May 5, 2018 and paid one thousand dollars for their repair which I was told would take thirty days. After many calls over several months and always being told that they would be ready anytime, I stopped by the end of August and one of the watches was ready which I picked up. The other one was not available. The watch which I picked up runs for about two or three hours and is not really able to be used as a result. I also picked up the second watch which had yet to be touched on September 19th as I no longer trusted them as it appears that they had not even started on it. Yeah, they said that they were vintage watches and required long lead times but no communication, inconsistent stories and having only one of two watches repaired with poor results after four full months urges met to tell folks to avoid this poorly run operation. They seem so disorganized and customer service or clear communication is not something that they understand. read more

Jwatch was about to close when I reached them and they agreed to stay open so I could come and drop my watch off that night. Amazing service! Took a vintage Rolex her that needed a complete overhaul and servicing as it was in bad shape and had stopped working entirely. They took lots of photos and gave me an estimate for repair a day later. It was ¼ of what Rolex had quoted me. I picked up a fortnight later and my watch has never looked better! Kind of a weird location to get to (on the 5th floor inside an unassuming entryway) but well worth it. I broke the strap on my watch and the guy at the front was very helpful in finding a replacement. He found the correct size immediately, and had about 15 or so options for me to choose from, including black leather, brown leather, blue, and sportier straps. I went with a nice ~$50 leather option but could've gotten a strap for as low as $20. The guy then put it on my watch in a manner of minutes, and even gave me a complimentary JWATCH svelte-looking bag. I was in and out of the door in about 20 minutes. I didn't really check out the other watches they were selling, but I got exactly what I needed in terms of repair. Would recommend. read more

Fantastic service here! I dropped off an antique mechanical watch that was my dad's and they were very quickly able to tell me all about it and what was wrong with it. I haven't decided yet whether it's worth fixing the watch, but I would definitely trust JWATCH to do so. I agree that the entrance is a little questionable. I entered with trepidation. There are no signs. You enter a lobby and head for the elevator. Take the elevator. To the fifth floor and the wander down the empty halls. A few turns and you find a door with a small printed paper sign stuck on it. However, once I went in, I was treated courteously and professionally. I presented my Tag with a broken crown to a unassuming woman behind the counter. The woman who helped me knew exactly what I needed. She took the measurements and was quite pleasant. It was a Thursday afternoon and she told me that it would be ready on Tuesday and I would get a call. The bill was only $35! Well, no one called me so I called on Wednesday. Another woman said that they had just finished fixing it and I could pick it up on Thursday. I did and it was fine. Bottom line: venture in the building and feel confident leaving your watch in their hands. read more

Very professional place. I came in and had my watch checked right away without any wait. She (the owner, I think) made a swift diagnosis of my watch. Saying that a part needs to be replaced since the water got in (which was causing it to fog) that eventually got rusted. She said that they'll email me once the part gets delivered and my watch ready to be picked up. It took them 2 days. Really happy with the service. They cleaned my watch and even updated the time and date. Small details do count. read more

Found this amazing place through YELP reviews. I brought in 7 watches in total, all in need of batteries and 3 in need of new bands. I said I was in no rush and would come back another day to p/u. Before I left, the staff photographed each watch and by the time I got to my office I had an email stating that the watchmaker was currently evaluating them & would send me an email w/estimate of cost. Had that within an hour or so, I authorized repairs by return email and, viola, next day the watches were ready. Prices were good, staff extremely efficient and pleasant.
