The people at Jwatch replaced my watch battery on the spot, for $10, in about three minutes. I don't own expensive watches, but if I did, I'd take them here for repairs. It seems like a place that approaches watch repair as an art. Note: There's no sign outside, as far as I could tell. I took a Tag Heuer watch in to get a new battery, which was done promptly for $15 and I left off an old Skagen watch from maybe 10-15 yrs ago to have its stem replaced. They promised they would sort out a part which would fit, when I explained the watch is an old one and I did not need to spend a lot. They installed a new stem, cleaned the watch band and face up and the whole thing was $35.00. They were courteous, professional and good. I wish I knew more people who still use a watch, I would recommend them in a heartbeat. read more

I brought my new Movado watch here to have some links taken out. For $10 and in not 10 minutes, I left with a watch that better fit my wrist. The young woman at the front desk was lovely; however, the woman in the back who actually took out the links was much less than friendly. When I asked that another link be taken out, I heard her respond "I'm not going to keep doing this like 15 times." I know this was a small service for them at a low cost but I left not wanting to ask that another half link be removed, even though I think this would've been a better fit for me. read more

I took my brand new surf watch to the shop to have my battery replaced. It was a gift from my boyfriend but needed a new battery. They replaced it, but when my boyfriend took it to water after a few days (he forgot his watch), water leaked into the watch. It wasn't closed properly. I took the watch back to the shop, and the owner replaced it with a brand new watch!! I think this is a truly amazing service, and it is rare. Best watch repair shop in NYC. Friendly gentleman quickly changed my watch battery for $15 in ~10 minutes, while I waited. No appt necessary. Will never go elsewhere. The entrance to the building is slightly hidden (look for address - 39, or you might miss it), elevator is at the end of long hallway, but it was a safe building with various business offices on each floor. read more

It's been a while since I've had a customer experience like this. The two women I spoke with at JWATCH were so friendly and welcoming. I came in to have a battery replaced, a pretty simple job, and it was completed in the 10 minutes that I waited. The woman who repaired the watch was extremely friendly and even offered to try to repair the backlight illuminator on the watch by cleaning it but the watch was too old and needed a piece replaced. I skipped out on replacing the piece but I was in and out very quickly and the people inside were very friendly and helpful!! read more

JWATCH provides excellent, speedy service with friendly customer support. My Movado watch's crystal cracked, so I brought it to JWATCH for an evaluation on Friday. The amiable attendant did my intake, said it would likely be around $35 for repair, and I would receive a call on Monday. By Monday morning, as promised, JWATCH called to confirm the $35 charge and approval for repair. Better yet, my watch would be available for pick-up after 1 p.m. that same day. JWATCH is a true find and offers honest service. The same service, if provided by Movado, would've taken at least one month at a cost of at least $250. JWATCH comes in at two days for only $35. My watch looks as good as new, and perhaps even shinier. (Did they throw in a complimentary polish?) You can also trust JWATCH for a watch battery replacement for an additional $15. (A good idea if you're already up there.) read more

The best watch repair shop I have ever visited. They can change batteries while you wait (or 4, in my case) and not overcharge for it. But even better was their Rolex watch repair, which Rolex owners know can be fraught with peril, not to mention huge expense. They took a very tired watch and made it like new again, and were extremely detailed in their repair recommendation. I felt like I was getting a very fair deal for the amount of work they did, and always felt my watch was in the best and safest hands. I am generally a pretty skeptical person, so when I read all of these great reviews of JWatch, I still had my doubts. But I brought three "over-sized" watches in for battery replacements and in about 5 minutes she popped out from the back room with all three of my "children" energized. I could not believe it was done so quickly. As importantly, her demeanour was very kind -- pretty rare for service in NYC but I like to acknowledge the gift when I find it. Finding the building is easy but once you get there, it seems a little strange...not in a bad way but in a strange way. But after you receive the excellent service all of the "strangeness" goes away and you leave with a big ol' grin on your face! You've gotta go there! read more

I took my Cyma watch (worn by my dad until he passed away in 1997) to JWATCH for service in June 2014. They did an amazing job servicing it and made it look as close to new as possible for a 25-year-old watch. I have had no problems with it since then, but took it back last week for a check-up and a new watchband. They told me it was in great working order and spent 30 minutes finding just the right band for it---and the total cost was $25! I just needed a watch band replaced. I purchased the band online and couldn't figure out how to swap it (Seiko vintage dive watch). I found this place on Google maps and gave it a shot. They were fast and cheap - $5 for the labor. Would definitely recommend. Will take my watch here when it needs servicing. read more
