One of the best meals I had when my family visited Maui. Came right after our flight in and it was amazing!! Everything was so flavorful and the meat was cooked perfectly. We got a couple of dishes and I loved them all. Especially the Hawaiian style beef cheek and poi stew, octopus, and the seafood laulau!! The beef was super tender and paired nicely with the sauce. Octopus was not chewy and the laulau was sooo well balanced. Great service, waiters were very friendly and loved the view of the pool right behind the restaurant.
The hotel is beautiful when arriving. When we approached the restaurant, I didn't expect it to be open air seating. I thought it was enclosed. We were greeted and seated quickly. The spread of the brunch buffet is not as grand as other buffets. They have sections for breakfast items, local food items, raw fish, poke, sushi, dessert, and a carving station. The carving station was roast beef. Of the dishes enjoyed were the roast beef, local dishes, and poke. The roast beef was cooked good but needed salt. The creamy horseradish sauce and ad jus added additional flavor but not the saltiness I needed. The char sui and mochiko chicken were also tasty. The tuna poke and spicy shrimp poke were also good. As it was a nice day, it was enjoyable to be seated outside. It was not hot nor the sun blazing above. Our table overlook the swimming pool area. Our wait staff cleared and replaced our dirty dishes and cutlery. And refreshed our drinks when it was low. It was a enjoyable stop in Maui for us.
The food was okay and ordinary. Good service and vibe. I wish the idols could be more exciting. The ahi was not as good as I thought, could be more texture. The beef was well cooked.
Leanne and Randy, the dynamic duo of an elevated dining experience. Leeann was my server. Randy was the assistant to her and they were both providing me with an exemplary experience for my 50th birthday. This is one of the more elevated dining experiences you will find on the island of Maui. Breathtaking views of the ocean sunsets are incredible. When dinner service begins. There is a native Hawaiian who blows a conch shell with a small ceremony to celebrate the evening and to pay homage to the true owners of this island the native Hawaiians. I started out with the Tchin Tchin cocktail, amazing delicate flavor, not too sweet. I then had to try their seared Ahi on the rock appetizer where they bring you a piping hot rock and fresh Aji you cook the Aji on the rock yourself and it comes with three different incredible dipping sauces. Then I had the lobster tempura dish for my main meal combined with grilled monchong. This is one of the best dishes I think I've ever had in my life. The fish was so light and buttery and juicy and flaky, and the lobster cooked to perfection, and I was very skeptical because were breading this lobster and tempura and there's such a risk of over cooking and that did not happen here I was super super pleased. I then went with the Pinoy honey toast for dessert with a side of Ube ice cream also incredible. The service here for me was second to none. It was delightful to spend my 50th birthday here and I owe much gratitude to Leeann and Randy for their service! Many mahalos! I will definitely be back.
Haven't been to Kō since the menu change and was excited to try the new items. Seafood Lau Lau: everything was cooked to perfection and broth was very tasty (ask for a side of white rice!) It came with a side of Lomi Tomatoe and Sweet Potato Mash but it could honestly do without those two. Korean Short Ribs: very tasty and soft. Kim Chee Fried rice and the banchans it came with was good too. Everything went well together. Grandma's Kasumi's Fried Chicken: chicken had a good crust on it! It's a big portion of chicken as well, plus everything it came with is filling. Pinoy Honey Toast: wasn't what we were expecting. The Corn flavored ice cream is interesting, wasn't our cup of tea. The Ube Ice Cream was lacking Ube flavoring. Kulolo Malasadas: it would have been so so good if there was more Kulolo in it and less of the Coconut Cream, or have the Coconut Cream as a dipping sauce. Service is always good, we have never had any issues even in the past visits.
I researched the best restaurants in Wailea before our trip, and dining at Ko turned out to be one of the most special and memorable experiences of our stay. We were seated at an exceptional table overlooking the adults-only pool. As evening fell and the tiki torches were lit, the view over the water was quietly magical. Our server, Connie, was genuinely warm and welcoming. She surprised us with a Happy Anniversary card featuring a painting of the hotel, signed by 30 Ko staff members. Each signature was done with care and personality--one even whimsically shaped like a cat. I loved it so much that I have the card hanging in my home. Connie explained the menu clearly and thoughtfully, including several items we hadn't encountered before. We started with the venison lumpia, an elevated take on a spring roll, and shared the wagyu lettuce wraps. Sharing was the right choice--the dish came with four types of lettuce, yuzu leaves, fern greens, a rectangular pan of rice, and more than enough beautifully prepared wagyu for two. Earlier in the week, a guest I met at a lei-making class mentioned she had ordered the wagyu steak at Ko twice. I understand why. For dessert, the strawberry--shaped like an actual strawberry--was both beautiful and inventive, light rather than heavy, and a perfect ending. Peni, the manager, also stopped by our table to say hello, which added another thoughtful touch to the evening. Thank you to everyone at Ko who made this dinner so memorable. It remains one of my happiest travel memories and truly lives in my heart.
Ko is a great spot for a moderately upscale family dinner! We really liked the fried chicken with Mac and cheese. Additionally the hostess was very nice to accommodate us with a quieter table. We also like the ahi tuna appetizer and the Seafood Lau Lau was presented beautifully. The only thing that maybe was a skip for me were the mocktails as they didn't feel worth the price. The service was very friendly and the service was nice.
The food was fantastic! Ambiance is amazing! Great restaurant! To start we ordered the lavender honey crispy shrimp, Venison lumpia, and Makeke salad to start. They were all delicious, fresh, and well worth getting. We got the house punch and the daiquiri. The punch was a bit strong for our liking, but the daiquiri might have been the best drink we've ever had. We kept ordering them! For entrées we ordered the Seafood Laulau, braised short ribs, and the crispy kona kanpachi. The seafood was fresh, hummus and the kanpachi was a wonderful bite together. The short ribs were super tender and rich. We loved every bit of it. Our waiter Misty was attentive and helpful. She recommended the honey toast and the malasadas for dessert and she was right! They were so good. A huge thank you to Silvia! So friendly and helpful. She really made a difference in our evening. Appreciate the excellent service! The location of the restaurant is great. Open air, sea breeze, and beautiful plants all around.

From the moment we arrived at Kō, we felt the true spirit of aloha. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and filled with the kind of hospitality that reminds you why dining in Wailea is so special. But what truly elevated our evening was the kuleana and heart shown by the entire team. Peni, the Assistant GM, embodied poʻokela (excellence) in every way -- greeting us with genuine warmth and making us feel like part of the ʻohana from the start. Serena provided malama pono-level service, caring for us with attention and thoughtfulness. James was friendly, engaging, and always present at the right moments, bringing such a comfortable vibe to the table. Roland checked in throughout the evening, ensuring everything was maikaʻi loa (very good) and to our liking. And Chef delivered dishes that were absolutely next level -- rooted in local flavors, beautifully prepared, and crafted with real passion for Hawaiʻi's culinary traditions. From the food to the service, every detail at Kō reflected aloha, intention, and excellence. If you're in Wailea, this is truly a must-dine experience -- a place where you are treated like ʻohana and leave with a full heart. Mahalo nui loa to the entire Kō team -- we will definitely be back!
This place was great to stop at for happy hour! The drinks were good. The edamame was so yummy- very bare bones served cold with salt and lemon juice but it was addicting. Hurricane fries are always delightful and I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the tuna roll! Very fresh. No super groundbreaking flavors but who can say no to sushi. Would recommend!
Really a wonderful meal tonight we started off with some sushi, which had Ahi at the center and a tempura outside finish. My parter had Shiso sour and I had the little Koi Lilikoi margarita both were good flavorful, but not overpowering. It's a nice open air restaurant, and we got to see the holiday decorations from our table. My partner had the lobster tempura and I had the mar jon fish mine came with some local mushrooms that were super tasty and I love the texture. Cas our server was attentive and warm. She did a little mini wine tasting for us of what would go best with our fish. She recommended for dessert the ultimate banana bread which is topped with fantastic homemade ice cream and rum sauce. The food runner put a show pouring the rum sauce over the ice cream. It was fun. I liked the ice cream's marshmallow is like flavor marshmallow. The vanilla rum the pecans just made it really creamy texture . This is something I would not miss. It was great pre-holiday dinner out.
Wow!!! Such fantastic views!! Figure out what time sunset will be and get yourself to a table to catch the incredible views! The food was fantastic! We got the lau lau and the Mahi Mahi special. All fantastic but what really took the cake (or the bread) was the dessert. The banana bread is something my partner will still not shut up about and will tell anyone who will listen even now - 3 months after our visit. The service was hit and miss. The manager was phenomenal and checked on us and joked with us. He did a great job of making sure everyone was having a good time. Our server seemed to keep forgetting about us. He was super at attentive to another couple who sat down after us, ordered after us, and got each of their courses before us. It wasn't a kitchen issue, he just kept checking on them more and forgetting about us even though we were just a table over from them. He'd often walk by and forget about our empty plates, empty water glasses and empty cocktail glasses. It didn't feel great to not feel like our business or experience was valued.
Phenomenal location with an amazing view and great food. However that isn't the best part. The staff here from Chef Tylun Pang to the hostess to the waitstaff and servers were top class. They shine and demonstrate aloha in a genuine way ...not the "we pretend because we have to since this is Hawaii". They were more than willing to work with us to make sure my husband's, delayed a year due to COVID, 60th birthday was special. Again, the location and food were spectacular but its the staff who made the night memorable and special. I dont really have other words than that. It would diminish how great this crew is. P.S. my husband says I cant leave a review without making sure that I talk about the KOBE Beef, Kim Chee and fragrant rice appetizer. Yes it was amazing, as was pretty much everything else BUT it was his favorite and it is in a class of its own. read more

It's important to say, while KO is in a hotel, it is not a hotel restaurant...it is a culinary destination!! GM Brent McLean curates a menu and dining experience worthy of Michelin recognition. The freshest local ingredients lovingly and creatively prepared by an amazing local chef, Jonathan Pasion...who shares his brilliance and Aloha at home on Maui. The lau lau is amazing, and the ahi tataki on shrimp toast, purple mash and Ko Ko Puff could be my choice of last meal on earth. I love this place. You will, too!! read more

We were invited to birthday party this evening Oct 15,2023! I had the Kobe beef serve with shoyu sauce which was salty and the beef was tough as leather with tendon on it. Awful and it definitely not a Kobe beef being serve. The bao bun with pork belly was tasty and rich in flavor however the bun was tough cold and chewy! For the entree I had the lobster tempura which was delicious and serve with calamansi soy sauce which was too salty and nam pla Thai chili sauce. Definitely not worth the price for dinner $62 with mediocre quality of food and the quality has definitely deteriorated since the passing story of chef Pang 18 months ago. The New chef need to have quality control on the food being served to paying customers as well as meet and greet with the customers. Just a suggestion! Service and ambience was good. Aloha read more

PHENOMENAL. I came here on a solo self date and had the most pleasurable dining experience. Everything was top notch from the service, to the drinks, to the food! I ordered the coconut curry soup to start, the tofu lau lau wrapped in ti leaves, and two drinks, didn't even have room for dessert, which I'm certain would've been delicious! Everything was so flavorful and quality. I loved how attentive and personable all of the staff were and the restaurant itself is in a beautiful location. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Phenomenal meal with a beautiful view. The ahi seared on a rock was a great way to start, and the fish was excellent quality. The lumpia was also tasty with a side of some pickled vegetables with raisins. The mains we got were both seafood mixes - one in a tomato saffron broth, and the other was a version of Lau Lau with coconut milk. Both were fantastic. read more

We came to Kō for drinks only. Offering no vegetarian options on their menu except maybe for an edamame appetizer, we knew this would not be a place to have a meal Drinks on the other hand were fruity & fun. We tried "the long paddle in" because you offer anything with lilikoi, we are going to be fans. This also had raspberry & some rum & it was sweet & tart & refreshing on a hot poolside day Also tried their lilikoi margarita & it was repeat-worthy Happy Hour serves food only on their specials menu but you can definitely enjoy a cocktail alongside or get it to go, as we did read more

Unlike some of the reviewers, my friend and I had a great time. Staff was really nice, sunset view was great, and the water service never stopped. We arrived at 5:30pm with reservations and it wasn't too crowded. Also wasn't noisy and the outdoor patio was shaded so it wasn't too hot or too cold. The complimentary bread was super interesting with a fluffy sweet potato center, crispy crackers and three different dips: a lavender honey butter, a kbbq sauce, and a refreshing green sauce. I ordered the zarzuela which was a Portuguese tomato soup in a black kettle with 2 lemon slices, 2 sourdough slices, one lobster tail, about three shrimp, a couple of scallops, some chopped up chorizo, 2 muscles, about 4 clams and red pepper bits. Maybe some onion. Very savory and would go well with the bowl of Jasmine rice. Shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly but the lobster was okay. I think it would've been better grilled. They provide a separate bowl for shells which was convenient. Also ordered the lilikoi cheesecake which was very soft but tangy and sweet. Would've been better with more granola but no complaints. The best dessert was definitely the pineapple creme brulee though. Tangier than normal creme brulee and the presentation was cute. Overall, fantastic experience and our server, Zebedee, was sweet and talked about the history of Ko and the food very well. He checked on us often too. Definitely recommend him when you visit. read more

Instead of a traditional dinner (appetizer + entree), we decided to go with small plates only which turned out to be an excellent choice. We ordered the Kona Kanpachi Hawaiian Poke, Oishi Sushi, Ahi on the Rock, Kobe & Kimchee, and Chicken & Mushroom Lumpia (the last three stood out for me). They also gave us a complimentary Coconut Gelato Malasada for our upcoming 9th wedding anniversary. My wife ordered the E Komo Mai Tai and I ordered the Makalapua. Delicious! read more

Hubby and I are Gluten free and dairy free and they had lots of options for us. The staff here are amazing, the lady who was serving us (Nannette) was very attentive to our food allergies also. We ordered the seared ahi on the rock (highly recommend), the Zarzuela (highly recommend), the hamachi, and the pork chop(highly recommend). Seared ahi: cooking it on the stone was a fun little experience an the fish was very fresh and the sauce you dip in was amazing. Hamachi: the ponzu sauce and hamachi was good but not great, the daikon that comes with it overpowers the flavor of the hamachi a bit. Zarzuela: the broth is light but packs a punch in flavor and they do not skimp on the seafood inside this dish. Worth every penny and delicious. (Forgot to take a picture) Pork chop: the pork chop was Smokey and had a slight sweet glaze and oh so juicy and not over cooked. read more

Made the trek down to Wailea this morning despite hurricane Hone. It was worth it. Fantastic service by Leanne, great to see Moki on the floor, Chef Aris behind the omelettes. So much Ono food, ate a dozen tempura shrimp and many sashimi bowls. the breakfast martini is a must have. live music, mellow vibe. Appreciate the kamaaina love. See you folks again soon. read more

5 stars for service and the grilled octopus. The seafood lau lau was bland and underwhelming. I wasn't too fond of the mashed ube texture with the seafood. Over priced filipino influenced Hawaiian food catered to tourists staying on the resort. Drinks were also on the pricey side, but good. Overall, not bad, but there are better options on the island if you venture out. read more

We were looking for a food place to have dinner and picked Ko which we reserved using OpenTable. They offer complementary valet parking but due to the current pandemic situation we decided to self parking at a lot a little further away and walked to the lobby of the resort. When we arrived at the restaurant we had our temperature taken before the receptionist led us to our table. I could see all staff there were properly wearing a face mask that covered both their mouth and nose. After we seated at our table we were also provided with 2 small plates to put our mask on. That was a very nice and considerate move and one that I have not seen elsewhere. We ordered Ahi on the Rock as our appetizer. It is a dish with 3 decent sized ahi meat and a very hot stone. You have to grill the ahi on the rock yourself. This was fun and tasty. For the main course we ordered daily special and seafood laulau. Seafood laulau, as you can imagine, was fish, shrimp, scallops wrapped in taro leaves. It was delicious and we loved it. What truly stood out was the daily special. It was grilled fish, shrimp, scallops on kimchi fried rice. It was so delicious we almost wanted to order another one. The kimchi fried rich was especially tasty. Ko also offers a more quiet and cozy ambient compare to Ka'ana Kitchen. They each have their pros and cons but I personally fine Ko to be a better place for conversation and spend the night talking. Overall I think this is a good place and I definitely recommend anyone visiting Maui to make a reservation and dine here for a night. read more

Took my girlfriend here for a surprise dinner last night, our server was Corrine. Wonderful service, the hostess asked about any allergies and the staff was attentive to them and reassured us about the items we ordered. The food was amazing! Beautiful place. They also offer a really great kamaāina discount, with proof of drivers license. I do wish the Lavender Shrimp, tasted more "lavender" Other than that, amazing all around. read more

This was an absolutely amazing meal. Definitely come for sunset and request a table overlooking the pool and palm trees. The ambiance is the best part, but the food and drinks lived up as well!! Definitely get the ahi on the rock- it was as fun as it was delicious. The kampachi crudo was also delicious. The zarzuela was my favorite part of the meal. The fresh catch in coconut lemongrass broth was also good, but not as great as the other dishes. The lime pie was a great way to end the meal. For a drink- I recommend the banana bread old fashioned. read more

This was at the gorgeous fairmont hotel with a stunning sunset! We sat outside by the tiki torches next to the pool and was able to watch the sun go down and got some gorgeous photos. I forgot what I ordered but they were all so good! Seafood cioppino and fish curry something. Sashimi was excellent. The desserts were delicious as well. Creme brûlée in real pineapple and chocolate ice cream brownies or fudge. We were looking for restaurants with great Food and gorgeous views and we got just that here. read more

Appetizers were amazing. Loved the ahi tuna and pork belly. Drinks were just ok. I'm a big Old Fashioned drinker and can't stand when bars serve ice cubes instead of the single large cube. Main course was good but the highlight of the meal was the pineapple crème brûlée. Quite possibly the best dessert I've ever had. It was creamy and not too sweet. It was perfect. My husband and I celebrated our ten year anniversary with dinner last night at Kō Restaurant - located at the fairmount resort in Wailea Maui. We had a phenomenal experience from start to finish. The food was cooked to perfection. We had the mahi mahi & lavender coconut shrimp. Both were so flavorful & melted in your mouth. The staff treated us with such kindness from the moment we walked in, and even gave us a thoughtful card at the end of dinner. I highly recommend Kō for a special occasion! read more
Our server Lucie was good. We usually tip 20% but did 25% because it's Thanksgiving today. Curry soup was very tasty. My wife's monchong fish was very good as well was the risotto. I got the ribeye steak, market price, which was $89. The steak looked really good, but unfortunately was not very good. I ordered medium, it was at least medium well verging on well done. It was not tender at all, clearly not a prime steak but likely choice. I could barely cut it with my steak knife. My wife agreed with my assessment. It was like eating a steak I got at Safeway. When I go out, and especially when I spend $89, it better be very good. I chose what I thought are some of the best places to eat while visiting Maui, and this was probably the most disappointing. (Loved Mamas and Banyan Tree. Dukes and Roy's was pretty good). We really did like the ambience though. My son loved his beef skewers on the kids menu. They have a really nice kids menu. read more

I'm gonna start off by saying they serve their crème brûlée in a pineapple. Guys, I saw this delight pass my table shortly after we were seated and I almost started my meal off with my fave dessert. I mean, I'd go back just for this! Lol. Ok, now that I got that off my chest, here we go. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. They were so friendly and attentive from beginning to end. I have some food allergies and the staff made sure to take extra precautions for me. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back! This restaurant is located inside the Fairmont Hotel. The place is very nice and fancy. It's an outdoor restaurant. When it rains, the number of available tables is reduced. The menu has a good variety of seafood and steak. I asked for the off-the-menu special, and it did not disappoint. read more

My bf took me here for my birthday dinner and it was superb. Ambiance is romantic, tranquil, and elegant. Entire staff was friendly and attentive. We had the lavender prawns appetizer, seafood lau lau, and the rack of lamb special. Everything was exquisite and delicious. We were also given a scrumptious soft white chocolate macadamia nut cookies as dessert. The restaurant is inside the posh Fairmont hotel. Also fun to view the location and scenes of the mini series White Lotus show. Quality fine dining and we were able to get a reservation easily which is highly appreciated. read more
Crashed my mom's company dinner and I'm glad I did. Haven't been to Ko in years and honestly, it's just as good as I remembered! We were a very large party and the service was superb! The servers and staff (sorry, I forgot their names) really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care off and drinks were always topped off. Started off with the lavender honey shrimp and lumpia (which was a bit over fried but still good) and ordered the seafood laulau for my entree. Mom ordered the fresh catch, which I believe was mahi-mahi that night. Loved the presentation of the laulau-- mahi-mahi, scallops, and shrimp enveloped in a decadent creamy coconut sauce with some steamed bak choy and lomi tomato. Also came with a side of sweet potato mash! I devoured each and every bite because it was sooo good! Decided to share some dessert and got the cute little egg tarts to top it all off. Unbelievable, Ko. We live next door at Polo Beach and love to pick up from Ko for something special. Know they stop taking orders at 8:30, so got everyone's order together for a special dinner and called at 8:14pm. Hostess answered, told her we wanted to order for pick up but before she took our orders I asked if there were any specials. She said she would ask a waitress and be right back. She NEVER RETURNED TO MY CALL OR MY ORDER. Used another phone to call the front desk before it closed- steps away from the restaurant. They said all they could do was call the hostess stand and too bad if nobody answered. This terrible service RUINED a fun night and we are beyond disappointed and scrambling to find something to eat on the last night of our vacation. So so so disappointed read more
