Three times in a row the last two months I have been there around an hour to 45 minutes before they close and the PRETZEL bakery has been sold out of pretzels. Come on do better. You are literally selling a few cents of ingredients for a 1000% markup at least. It is much better to have to throw away a handful or donate some at the end of the day than ruin your reputation by not having the one thing you should always have. What if KFC was habitually out of chicken? They would be out of business. read more

While Tony and I was on our day trip in Dayton, Ohio we stopped at the K&R Pretzel Bakery to enjoy a Hot Salty Treat. We both love pretzels of any kind. This is really a treasure!!! If you are in the Dayton OHIO area you should definitely look them up. They are easy to find with Google Maps or Yelp GPS, They are located in a residential area. Plenty of parking and inside its rather dark but they have been in business for Decades, I spoke to a lady who said her parents had started his business. They use a Conveyor Belt Style Oven to make the Delicious Salty Goodness. They also sell other treats too. I purchased 2 pretzels, ONE for each of us only and some Cheese Popcorn she said she made fresh about an hour before I got there...All for less than $5 can't beat the prices!! When in the area I will definitely stop again! I highly recommend plug this into your GPS and find your Pretzel fix right here!!! read more

I was recalling the best soft pretzels I ever ate while with friends where I live in New Mexico. I told them these pretzels were sold by the local Catholic schools at Xenia High after classes ended in the afternoon. They were always in a paper bag and I'll never forget how they were warm with just enough salt and not sugary. They were sold outside while we waited for our buses to go home. On a whim I looked on line to see if I could find any pretzel company in Dayton. I called K&R and told them this story and the owner confirmed I found the right place. Im older so you cant imagine I was there in a hurry. I actually shed a tear when I pulled up. And inside the original pretzel machine was operating and my pretzels were placed in a paper bag and were piping hot. The world needs to pay K&R a visit. read more

This pretzel bakery is a hidden gem in the Dayton area! It's hidden back in a residential neighborhood and I think you need to be in the bakery in crowd to know about it. I moved to the Cleveland area from the Dayton when I was younger and K & R was and is a stop that always has to be made when I head down for a visit. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is the smell of fresh baking pretzels. It's heavenly! If you're lucky (or if you ask nicely ) you may be able to get pretzels that are fresh off of the belt. (THE BEST!) These pretzels are soft and chewy with the perfect amount of salt. By the time I get back to my car I am ready to devour the whole bag and I usually do put a hurting on them! Ha! And aside from the pretzels, they also have other things that you can buy. There are all kinds of candy, sugar waffles, etc. Now excuse me while I go hop in my car and take a 200 mile trip to go and buy some much needed pretzels! read more

These are the BEST pretzels in the area. 50 years ago when school or church had pretzel fund raisers, this is where we got the pretzels. They are still wonderful. I went in today around 2pm and asked if the pretzels were hot. They didn't have any hot off the conveyor, just warm. So I asked if I could get a hot one. No problem. It took 7 minutes, but its so worth it. Baked to perfection with just the right amount of salt. They also made 1 with no salt for my mother who is on low sodium restriction. The owners are nice and accommodating. They are the absolute best when dipping in nacho cheese when pretzels are hot. YUMMMMM. I might need to go back tomorrow before going back to work on Monday. read more

Stopped by here today after hearing from others that this was the place that supplied soft pretzels to Beavercreek schools back in the 70's. Of course I looked them up and found out they were still around. Read a review on here, thanks Brian C., and had to go there today at lunch with a co worker. The place is small and off the beaten path, but the lady working there confirmed that this was in fact the place that supplied pretzels to the schools. They no longer do that. We got a dozen pretzels and some nacho cheese, cost us $11.00. The pretzels were warm and just like I remembered. The staff was very nice! They had other stuff in there, like candy, nuts, soda, etc.. But I was there for the pretzels, which were fantastic! By the way I ate 4 pretzels for lunch!..LOL We are going to make this a "Pretzel Friday" on the last Friday of each month! read more

This is a very local place, in fact it's so hidden back in a semi residential neighborhood that you would never know it's there! Very nondescript building, once you step inside you can smell the freshly baked pretzels rolling off the conveyer belt. The machine that bakes these pretzels looks like it's been in place and operational since the turn of the last century, not a bad thing but this place I'm sure has some history behind it. This is a grab it and go place, no seating inside. The pretzels are salty, soft, and warm, reasonably priced as well. They also sell assorted novelty candies, circus peanuts, bottled sodas, and squeeze bottles of mustard (you have to eat a soft prestzel with mustard!). This place is about as local as you can get, so take a turn right off of Watervliet onto Flesher and grab some hot soft pretzels! read more

This place is worth the drive from anyplace in the Miami Valley. Make sure to check the hours because they are very limited. When the pretzels are warm, it's impossible not to eat one or two as you drive home. read more

Stopped by and bought a dozen pretzels, just baked. They were perfect--nicely salted and, above all, not sweet like those from so many pretzel stands these days.These are the real thing. The bakery is a little cement block building in a local neighborhood. Eat them warm with mustard! read more
