A tree fell onto my car and did more damage than appeared/I could wrap my head around. My hood, roof, windshield, roof rack and entire drivers side of my 17 Subaru Impreza took quite the hit. The one good thing my insurance did for me was grant me the opportunity to cross paths with K Auto Body. They were responsive & communicative from day one. Simon answered any questions I had and always kept me up to date. The team did incredibly- considering the delay on parts these days. Two months was honestly not as long as I thought it would take. I am giving them 3 stars because of a lack of professionalism and the communication breakdown. I went in to fix a dent on the door due to a hit-and-run and also a couple of other dents that occurred previously. The original estimate was for fixing ALL dents. However, the final bill was more than 2x the original estimate, and some of the dents never got fixed. The person helping me (Sam) did not seem to remember our conversation and did not quite respond to why some of the other dents were not fixed. The bill was paid using my CC. Three months later, they realized that they had billed me less than the amount due. I had no idea about this. Anyway, Sam, Simon, and my insurance company called me and my wife several times notifying me of the issue. I was happy to give my CC number over the phone so they could charge me or pay it online, but they refused and insisted that I stop by. Considering that they close at 4 PM and are not open on weekends, it was quite a hassle to drive 40 miles to their shop to cover the payment. I do not believe they are dishonest or were trying to rip me off. I just think they need to adopt technology and make life easier for customers, communicate clearly, and not make billing mistakes. read more

I recently had my first auto accident and I thought it would be the worst experience of my life until I came to K Auto Body! I was referred to this collision repair shop by a friend of mine and I was not disappointed. From the moment I entered I felt comfortable and they explained the whole repair process with me. Of course, I had numerous questions regarding my insurance company and how it all worked. They answered every question I had and dealt with my insurance company for me which made the process easy. They arranged to have me picked up by the rental car company to retrieve my rental and also to return it. I was very happy with the repair work they did to my car. The paint color matched perfectly and you could not tell that my car was even in an accident! I recommend anyone looking for quality auto body work to take their car to K Auto Body! I feel like an idiot!! I was never so insulted in my life. I am an engineer who works in the Valley, and I had the misfortune of going to Tahoe about 3 weeks during a snow storm. I had to install tire chains on my vehicle and unfortunately did it wrong which ended up damaging my left and right rear doors and bumper. The damage was bad enough on the left side for me to seek a body shop to repair it and so I did some research and got 2 quotes for the job. My car is a Lexus and one estimate was for about $4000, which seemed too expensive, while the other estimate was from this shop for $1700. Needless to say I jumped on these guys' estimate and gave them the car. The damage was more severe on the left hand side than the right side, and the inner wheel lining on both sides was also damaged. The owner of this shop said that he will fix the body damage on the left side and will only cover up the damage on the right side (since it was not bad) and that he will also fix both wheel liners. I happily agreed and gave him the car Four days later, I got the car back and noticed that the inner wheel linings was not fixed and that the bumper still was not completely smooth (the liners were loose and torn), after inquiring about the liners, the owner said that it was not part of the deal and that he wants to charge ~$500 more to fix them. I haggled a little with him and then suggested he checks the junk yard for the liners instead of getting them new. He made a phone call and was able to find them at around $250. I paid him the money and then came back for the install. The next week, I notice that the left side (the one with the most damage) started PEELING!!!!! I kid you not!!! It is as if it was scraped off or sanded or something!!! I couldn't believe my eyes and went back to him. When he saw me back he started this big act of disbelief asking me what I did to the car and suggesting it was me who damaged the car again!!!! I looked back at the genius and asked him what he really means? He said it straight out: He thinks I scraped the car again at exactly the same spot!!!!! I told him this is ridiculous and then how would I ever do the same damage to the left hand side (in the area right next to the tire) twice in less than a week. He brushed me off and said he will not fix it if I don't pay him again!!!!!!!! This is beyond ridiculous to me, and beyond being crook. That owner is shady and it seems he was ready with his act the minute I walked into his shop. I guess I should have known that there is something wrong the minute he gave me an incredible estimate. Now I am filing court papers to sue him for damages and will probably spend the next 3-4 months on this law suit. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND LOVE YOUR CAR STAY AWAY FROM THIS CROOK AND HIS SHADY BUSINESS. DO NOT FALL INTO HIS TRAP OF CHEAP ESTIMATES, HE WILL EVENTUALLY GET YOU PLUS SOME MORE!!!!!!!!! read more

Went to this shop because it was local--needed an HID headlight replaced on my 2008 Prius (requires some removal of the bumper to do so). Mark Song of K Autobody mentioned that they would only charge me the cost of the bulbs since they needed to order it from Toyota. Toyota factory bulbs run at $150 a piece, which is what he charged for that part. What I didn't know was that they not only didn't use Toyota bulbs, but the mechanic who placed them in did so in a horribly unprofessional manner--HID bulbs burn so intensely that any oil from human skin that's left on the bulb (from touching it with your fingers) will become superheated and cause the bulb to burn out. A week after getting the replacement done my bulb did just that: it burnt out again. I decided not to trust these guys with any more of my money, and took it into Dito's Motors in South City (well worth the drive) who treated me fairly and did a spectacular job. Upon removing the burnt bulb they could tell immediately that I had been swindled with a cheap ~$8 bulb.. NOT the Toyota factory one I had paid for. The mechanic at Dito's Motors also showed me where the oil from a clumsy fingerprint had cause the bulb to burn out, and when they replaced the bulb that I provided for them they did so through a number of steps--the most impressive of which being a specialized disposable glove that exudes rubbing alcohol for jobs that are delicate and sensitive to human skin oil! In short, please take my advice and do at least these two things when attempting to get a repair or replacement done on your car: 1. Provide the replacement part yourself if you can (I got my HID headlight off of Amazon for $30) 2. For your Toyota needs, go to Dito's Motors in South City, and if you don't have a Toyota, avoid going to K Autobody at all. They make it out like they are on your side and trying to cut the common man a deal, but it's snake oil salesmanship at its finest. These guys are scum. I run a business and that means any down time with my truck $$ lost. This place is so streamlined with insurance and rentals so it's super quick. Twice in a row got into accident on Sunday left the car with them. First time, the owner of the shop came out and gave me ride to the rental car in airport because nothing was open on Sunday afternoon. The car was fixed within the estimated time and came out buffered and shined. (The estimate came close to $7000 half of the car was changed) Second time, also towed to shop on Sunday, went to shop on Monday 8am morning, got out and went on my way by 9:30 with a rental truck. Enterprise came to pick me up from the shop. I'm happy with quality of the job and how easy the whole process was. No headache and no hassle. Pros: Quick, accurate quote, streamlined with insurance and rental. Nice owner and his wife. Staff is also worked there long time, which means to me it's a quality shop. Cons: Honestly, if he can offer services for dings and scratches, that would be wonderful since I have so much of them. read more

I was so impressed with the customer service and quality of work at K Auto Body. Not only were they extremely polite and professional, but very helpful as well. I had to coordinate a rental car through my insurance company, and then coordinate my timing with the rental car company. K Auto Body made that happen. They contacted the rental car company for me, and also assisted me to not have to take the rental car back to the rental car location when my vehicle was finished. They had the rental car company come and pick up the vehicle. Not only were my truck repairs finished, but they went above and beyond with small but meaningful details, like washing my truck and shining it up. The work that they performed was very professional. They wouldn't settle for aftermarket parts like the insurance company wanted, they insisted on all original parts. My name is kenneth lee. I had my 2005 toyota tundra repainted on the passenger side because of big scratch in 2007. After 5 years I noticed of little peelings of clear coating on couple of corners. K Auto Body is honest and helpful. My Camry door handle was broken and I went to 2 auto body shops before going to K Auto Body. The first one told me to replace the door lock actuator (wrong advice as it was working properly), the other sold me a $5 dollar part which I later found out it was not for my car. I was driving on el Camino and decided to stop by and get there take on the issue. They took a look and told me the part I got from the other shop wasn't for this car and said I could get the right part at Toyota Dealership for $2. Guess what they were right and it fixed the problem. They didn't even charge for looking at the car. Very friendly, professional, honest and helpful, would highly recommend them. read more
