Never take your car for diagnosis here for any problem. Charged me $90 for diagnosis of a prob my car was having. The mechanic gave a theory based on visual observation which he called accurate diagnosis. No proper testing of components. Said radiator was leaking. Luckily I had recently replaced my raditor & it was under warranty so took my car back to the guys who had done the radiator work. They took out each component and stress tested & ran diagnostics and found radiator to be fine. When I confronted Shiv's technician with this & asked for a refund for wrong diagnosis he started shouting & was not even ready to take out each compoenet & do proper testing to prove this diagnosis. I had a great experience getting my car repaired at Shiv Auto. I came with a 'Transmission Error' in my BMW 520i which was difficult to get fixed. He did a fantastic job on my truck but I was mostly impressed with how honest he is with his customers. Shiv Auto Service is located in a very busy lot with many other auto shops. The owner, Nirmal, seems to be the one that does all the work himself. My boyfriend and I recently took our car here for a smog check because we were in the area. I don't remember exactly but it was around $40-$50 for the smog. We were in and out in no time. After he smogged the car, he noticed the nice, big scratch we had on the door, and offered to clean it up a bit free of charge. He sprayed some magical liquid on the door, rubbed it in, and instantly the scratch looked so much better afterwards. Wow!! The price was about 30% less as compared to other outlets 2. He offers 20% discount on labor for Cisco employees 3. He offers a great FREE car wash if you are in for major work 4. This gets better. Nirmal now threatens me with legal action. Just a heads up to his former, current and future customers. Please be aware of all the dirty tricks he can pull. So Nirmal says he has invoice for the belts but refuses to come to a mutually agreeable location to show the invoice and match the serial number (not just part number which will obviously be the same) to the belts installed in my car. Nirmal, I want the purchase bill, name of the seller you bought belts from and also warranty card/certificate for the new belts (serial number matching the ones in my car) you installed and I will gladly update the reviews that you did indeed replace belts. Additionally, please look forward to a letter from BBB demanding explanation of your 250$ charge and all the original receipts and bills you have to prove if you did what you claim you did. I had my oil change done at Precision Tune and due to their technician's mistake (found later by Shiv auto), my car stopped suddenly. AAA told that my car starter may not be working. I got my car towed to Shiv Auto. Nirmal gave me options - either I buy the starter and get it installed OR he will buy & install. Nirmal also gave options for me where to buy from (if I chose first). I called couple of folks and found part costs 100 bucks. Nirmal said it might cost 130. When I told him about my findings, in front me he called the store and asked them, why are they quoting him differently (and more) than when I called and expressed his unhappiness at their behaviour, on the speaker-phone. The store guy gave it to 100. The real good nature & transparency of Nirmal is yet to come. After replacing the starter also, engine would not start. Then he found that engine is DEAD due to Precision's mistake. Since I was told by Precision to tow to them and there was no time to change the starter again. Shiv let me tow the car with new starter and said, after I get my car repaired, I could have new one replaced with old one. What a gesture!!!!. On top of it, when I started paying for the service + part, his card-reading machine would not work. He said, no worries. Where will the money go!!!. If god is with me, money will come. You can always come back, pay me and replace New one. He also said, since it is no one's mistake, we will have to figure out a way to use the NEW starter, as store would not take it back. That means, I got my vehicle serviced at no cost at that point of time. I have never seen any auto-service do this. This personal touch really moved me. Even after that, he guided me on how I should have worked with Precision and gave advises. Shiv auto is a mechanic shop you can trust. My check engine light was on and wouldn't pass smog because of it, previously my knock sensors were changed however who did it before didn't do it correctly, that's why the check engine light remained on. Nirmal from Shiv Auto changed my knock sensors and showed me the damage I had from the previous person that installed it, he didn't even tighten one of my knock sensors, SMH. Since I was on a time constraint because I had to go to the DMV to get my registration that was due, Nirmal worked on my car fast and accurately. I had a fender/bender with my Corolla. The car ahead of me suddenly stopped ( a pedestrian was near the road ) and I couldn't avoid hitting the car. While searching for collision repair shops, I found Shiv Auto. Nirmal quickly looked over the damage and worked on the fender for 30 min to push it back out to it's normal shape. Fender still has cosmetic damage - paint chips and small scratches. But largely car is back to original. And the fee for this was 50$. Good price and speedy service.
