Deserves no stars. For a really large restaurant prominently on the main street and in business for years, they do not know how to cook a steak or a shish kebab. My shish kebab was raw and tasted absolutely horrid. I had one piece; regrettably, I had that one piece. They did not give me what I ordered either . What a mess... Everyone is scrambling. In out here there everyone sitting around waiting for there tables don't know where the line starts or stops. The hostess is unfriendly, 35 min wait or sit in bar.... Noone in bar. Finally a lady who was busting her but came to the rescue. She was literally doing 2 people's job. I stayed because of her and gave her a nice tip. The rest of the place is filthy and the bathrooms yikes! I hate to know the true health score. I bet the kitchen nasty and a nightmare. Alot of people working hard but something like a manager is missing. Needs a complete clean and makeover. Sync the ordering process with the patrons traffic flow and train the hostess! read more

3.5 stars We came here tonight. It was busy, but not like some of the other restaurants in Rui. We were told it was going to be a 30-35 min wait, but it was more like 5. Our server was attentive, but had other things going on. The salad wagon was back and came with an extra fee (of course, and required the use of plastic gloves. The honey butter that comes with the rolls was so good and reminded me of Texas Roadhouse, but the rolls were just warm, almost as if they had been sitting there for awhile. Prices weren't bad, as most dishes were in the 9.99-12.99 range. Our order came out quickly. I got the brisket sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was good brisket, but I wouldn't say it was the best brisket I ever had. We arrived hungry and our hotel owner told us about this place. I can't say enough nice things about this place. The large salad bar was full of everything you could want and the soups were delicious. You can order a meat for a small extra charge if you want for your salad. I ordered shrimp. They brought 4 huge delicious shrimp which I could not eat all of it because I was so full. My husband gladly finished them. My husband ordered Country Fried steak. He couldn't get over how good it was. Our waitress was so nice and very attentive. What was so refreshing was how well they took care of the salad bar. Very nicely kept. The restaurant itself is a good atmosphere, the servers are very attentive and fast. The food in which I ordered was alright, not the best but ok. I am a chicken fanatic and the chicken could've been a bit more juicier, it was somewhat dry. What added more flavor was the teriyaki sauce as a glaze. I have not been to a K-Bobs Steakhouse in probably 30 years, however Ruidoso New Mexico still has one. Went for dinner after driving in from Texas. I was not too hungry, but we wanted something to eat. As I browsed the menu with its usual Sirloins, Ribeyes and T-Bone steaks, I was looking for a Chicken Fried Steak. Sadly they only came in one side (The size of a large dinner plate). Too much for me. But then I noticed they had a BLT-A on the menu. Sounded good, and was what I thought would be a bit smaller. I ordered it up and when it arrived at our table, it must have had half a pigs worth of the best bacon ever. It was made on Texas Toast and was one of the best BLT-A's I've had. The Avacado was sliced and perfect ripeness, and the tomato was typical southern gem you just can't get in Alaska. I'm embarrassed to say the picture I took Mysteriously disappeared from my phone so I have no pictures to attach, but take my word, this place is great. We enjoyed our supper here, the salad bar is still not open to fix your own but they had nice salads prepared for you to pick from and their ranch dressing was made in house and it was good. This K-Bob's was packed when the wife and I visited on Saturday, June 6, 2020. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated at a clean table in the back. There were a few plastic wrapped, pre-made salads on ice, on the salad bar, but no traditional salad bar. I originally ordered the ribs, but the waiter came back five minutes later and said they were out of ribs. I opted for a medium, Trail Boss. This was 12 ounces of sirloin, with fried okra and two chile rellenos as sidekicks. The steak turned out well done, but tasted good. By far, the star of the show, were the chile rellenos, they stuffed a ton of cheese and bacon inside them. The rolls were light and buttery and the waiter kept our drinks filled. The beef is from local farms and this had to be the best K-Bob's I've visited in New Mexico. Would have given 5 Stars if that steak had been cooked properly. read more

Been here multiple times before, everything was always good in the past but not any more. Ordered a charloin, only to get some bone chips in the first couple bites. Swapped for a Nashville chicken sandwich, only it was missing the Nashville hot sauce and the sweet potato fries were burnt af and the server didn't come back for some time. Service wasn't slow but my server was non-existant to my table, was really great trying to get a refill as she goes to the tables around me and then takes off. I couldn't even get to pay with my card as she didn't come back- I was fortunate to have cash on me. Even the hostess was a smidge rude about seating a table of one. Rolls were good though. Came here for my birthday dinner. Wanted steak and it was recommended. I got the 16 oz steak with fried okra and beans. My wife got Chicken fried steak. Loaded baked potatoe assnd shrimp cocktail. My son got steak and fries. Dinner came with hot rolls and butter and we each had an adult beverage. Service started out good but fell apart. Our drinks didn't come for 10 minutes. Food was lukewarm. Fantastic salad bar. If you can't find what you like on it you don't like anything. All fresh and kept clean and stocked. 2 choices of hot soup too. Restrooms were clean and stocked. Refills were attended to regularly for drinks. Oh the rolls! Soft, hot and served with 2 kinds of butter. Everyone smiles and greets you. Great location with plenty of parking. The rare salad bar is the holy grail here. The add on price for an amazing salad and soup bar is small, but the value is ginormous. The chopped steak and mushrooms is my absolute favorite and with the salad bar I couldn't be happier. Sometimes the service is lacking with a particular waitress but I doubt she will be there long with her attitude. Whenever I am in Ruidoso, K-Bobs is my lunch or dinner of choice. Had salad bar first night and went with wings appetizers the second night. Wasn't really enthusiastic about the salad bar. Service was very expeditious both nights. Seated immediately both nights at around 630pm mid week. The 16oz strip was Top 20 the 10oz was ok. Loaded potato and 1/2 eaten, seemed greasy idk why. Steamed broccoli barely steamed. Really depends on your waiter, ours forgot to bring our plates out. My dad said he saw them sitting at the front for a bit. We waited maybe 45 min at the table and by the time the food got here, 4 out of 6 of our plates were cold. The rice was also hard, not cooked properly. The bread is good- they were able to modify a couple of the appetizers so I could enjoy them- and the salad bar was far more than adequate. The salad bar has an abundance of great options, could have been a meal itself but also got the chicken fried steak and it was SO GOOD! The rolls with the sweet butter was delicious as well. Next the mashed potatoes with that gravy adds so much hearty feeling to the whole meal. Now to the steak, I ordered mine medium rare as a steak should be, it came out hot, so I recommend letting it rest for a few minutes. It was cooked perfectly. The cut was good and had good marble.
