I love coming to K-Bob's. Every time I come to visit I always have to come here. Their patio is so beautiful, being able to look at all the trees and it being higher up. The service is always friendly, they make you feel like you are a regular. I love the chicken fried steak with a side of chili strips. I am shocked at the low ratings. My family and I are from San Antonio, Texas, driving to Ruidoso, New Mexico. We stopped off here for some lunch and we were so glad we did! Service was great! Hit or miss here. We've had terrible and stellar food. Same orders. Not the same experiences. I now tend to eat off of the senior menu and eat the salad bar and chopped steak. I've had the strip when it's awesome and had it when it's skinny and dried up. Not super consistent. Never had dessert or drinks here so can't comment. Honestly do enjoy the chopped steak. They charge about 1.50$ to put anything on your potato like sour cream bacon and cheese which is ridiculous. read more

Apparently they just re-upholstered the seats very poorly so they were uneven or your knees were hitting the table. i asked if there was a different booth and was given attitude.... When the food came you can taste the mediocrity in that you know everything was frozen an hour or so before... who knew a "rare" steak would be grey? Me and my wife walked in and was taken to a small room with only four tables my wife asked all by ourselves and the I asked if we could have a booth instead and we were still separated from the rest of the restaurant and the people eating there. Food was mediocre at best and the menu is full of false advertising! Went on a Wednesday which the menu states is homestyle favorites are all 50% off. Come to find out that only a select item from the menu in the section is 50% although it doesn't state that anywhere on the menu which is false advertising. I go to Ruidoso about 4 times a year. I was having trouble finding good restaurants up there. I tried a couple of the bbq places that were horrible. A couple of the Mexican places were pretty mediocre too and the buffet at the casino is barely edible. I did eventually find Cafe Rio for some awesome pizza and Porkys for some good Mexican food. I was there back in November and the Mgr at the hotel recommended KBobs. I was pleasantly surprised. Very clean restaurant. Good, perfectly cooked steaks, reasonably priced and good service. This was our first stop on our way in and the last dinner we had before leaving. Good, consistent, hot food, plenty of choices for the kids. On day one I had steak & hot wings and on the last day I had smothered chopped steak and hot wings. I order hit wings everywhere I go and was very excited to find a great order of hit wings in Ruidoso. Although a simple place, the food was good. I got chicken strips and they were fluffy and perfect. The loaded baked potato was good as well. Their salad wagon (bar) was average too, but the plus side is they have real bacon! We got the chips and salsa too. The chips were perfect, seemed to melt in your mouth. However the salsa was lacking big time. Was soupy and didn't even taste like salsa. You can get better salsa from the grocery store. My friend got the salmon and I had some, it was great. K-bobs is a great place to eat if you want something simple that will still taste good. They are very accommodating if you are allergic to certain things too! read more
