Delicious!! Tucked away in the basement of a building downtown, this restaurant is anything but drab. The restaurant is large with lots of seating, but we ended up sitting at the bar. I had one of their homemade limeade which was incredible and fresh. I picked a noodle bowl which had thick noodles, some spice and an incredible blend of flavors. It makes me want to come back again to try another dish! read more

I love a good bowl of pho, especially on cold snowy or rainy days. Thankfully I can get a decent bowl on my lunch break thanks to K Dara. On my first visit to K Dara I had a small bowl of pho with beef. The menu specifies raw beef but the meat was fully cooked when I received it. It was especially tender, however. The broth was very flavorful but be warned of a pile of black pepper when you get to the bottom of the bowl. Broth is the second reason I love pho. The first reason is noodles. K Dara's noodles were plenty in the small bowl - glad I decided on the small bowl because the next size I'm sure would have been too large even though I was very hungry. The noodles were a bit undercooked, slightly crunchy. they could have been cooked a tad longer. The fixins on the side - bean sprouts and herbs were kind of meager and the basil had seen better days. All in all a decent bowl of pho on a working stiff's lunch break. I also tried the stir fried eggplant. It was very flavorful however the pieces were not evenly cooked. Some pieces were still a bit crunchy. I hope that doesn't happen the next time I go and have the 1000 degree broccoli. Accessibility warning - there are a lot of stairs to go down into the basement. I really can't say enough how much I love Kdara. The food is some of the most thoughtful I've had in buffalo, the flavors and textures incredibly nuanced. The cocktails were innovative and delicious, I really appreciate the usage of fresh fruit and herbs to create their teas and lemonades, you don't find that often. Jennifer, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable about every dish they serve at Kdara and you can tell she takes pride in what she does. On this rainy Saturday night visit we tried the bean sprout salad, enoki spring rolls, wontons and the braised chicken wheat bowl. Everything exceeded my expectations. The sprout salad and spring rolls were fresh and full of flavor. The wontons were deliciously tender and came in a light savory broth. The wheat noodles had a slight nutty flavor that paired perfectly with the spicy broth and juicy chicken. The owner was kind enough to split the bowl for my partner and I so we could both enjoy. Definitely make this your next stop when you're craving a hot delicious meal to forget we live in a city that doesn't have sun this time of year. read more

Khristina's review is spot on and excellent. I was part of that party of nine. This place was a bit hard to find. It's downstairs and is cool inside. My drinks were nice but I felt as if my old fashioned was half the size it should've been for the price I paid. It said rolls on the menu but I thought they would be soft rolls and not spring rolls I'm rice paper. (I also assumed they would be friend. I should've asked.) I really enjoyed my chicken fried rice. I ordered pho for my boyfriend and he said he's had better. The staff were nice but as Khristina said, they were ill prepared for our large party, even though my best friend had a reservation for 6pm. I was quite surprised at the fact that our waitress was interrupted by the head waitress to give food to a table near us, while taking g our orders and taking questions from us. Wow, I can't believe it took me as long as it did to come here. The food at K.Dara was phenomenal! Seriously some of the best food I've had in a while. It resides in the old Sato Brewpub location downtown, and the space is welcoming and modern. Service was prompt and helpful as I was between two menu items. I will be returning to try more items. There are some vegan and vegetarian options such as lo mein, fried rice, dumplings, and salads. read more

I loved K Dara when it was on main. This was my first time into the pearl location. It was really good, but nothing super special. I would say great place for a low key dinner to catch up with a friend. I decided to sit at the bar to eat since there wasn't much of an aesthetic otherwise and all the dining tables were super close together. We walked in on a whim and were blown away by the incredibly delicious food! This is gourmet/handmade Asian cuisine right here in downtown Buffalo! We went after work on Thursday and then went back on Friday because it was that good! We tested three levels of sake, had the dumplings, Ssamjang Pork, handcuts, and fried rice -- I can't say enough! We then had the best flan for dessert that we have ever had! I recommend going just for that! And the staff was great! We were surprised that it was not more crowded. I don't think many people know about it! So please go, check them out, and do what you can to continue the renaissance happening downtown! You will not be disappointed! You could tell that there wouldn't be a bunch of pre made warm up ingredients in the kitchen there. Every dish was plated beautifully and the flavors surpassed the beautiful presentation from first bite to last! Nothing about our experience disappointed. the location is amazing. as soon as you walk in the door, you have to walk downstairs and it's like a little hidden bar. love the style of the restaurant. the service was amazing, everyone was so nice and attentive. the food was some of the best Asian food I've had in buffalo, and some of the best dinners I've had here. We had the chicken lo mien and the somen, with land and sea dumplings (beef, pork, and crab) and a K:Dara old fashioned that's on their cocktail menu. the somen was spiced and i was able to add extra sauces if i liked, but it was honestly so good the way it came. a double serving was $17, which left me enough to take home later. the prices are reasonable, especially for the delicious food and wonderful service. read more
