Korean Corn Dogs are fun - we got the Dragon's Breath and the Potato crusted one. The corn dogs are HUGE! Super filling, crunchy, great cheese pull, and breading was fluffy. Tteokbokki was not my favorite - half of it was overcooked and the other half was undercooked. The sauce was also more sweet than spicy. For the wings - the size of the wings are great, but both times we've ordered the wings, the flavor has been off. The first time we ordered the soy garlic wings, they were extremely salty. Korean street food is here and I love it! K-Pocha serves up a lot of fun takes on Korean food including corn dogs, skewers, tteokbokki, chicken wings, bibimbap, kimbap, bingsu, and more. They also have boba and packaged snacks, treats, and drinks for purchase. The space is a little small inside but Nate and I were able to get a table when we visited. Order at the counter and get a buzzer that will alert you when your food is ready. The employee taking our order was super kind and patient - it was hard to decide what to order since everything sounded so good! We got the potato dog, hot cheeto dog, kim-cheese fried rice ball, passionfruit jasmine tea with strawberry jellies, and a shrimp ball skewer. I like that you can customize your Korean corn dogs with beef hot dogs, chicken hot dogs, and mozzarella cheese (you can choose a combo of two as well). We got half beef hot dog and half cheese. They also have a couple combos available which would be a good option if you want to try multiple things! The food was ready quickly and everything looked amazing. My favorite item was definitely the potato dog with the crispy potato outside and melty cheese inside. I'm already planning what to get next time - the wings looked so good and I love tteokbokki. They also have bingsu at K-Pocha, which is a shaved milk frozen treat. I think they are the only place in the area that has it, so definitely give it a try. I loved the drinks and snacks for sale - the turtle chips are amazing (they're named for their shape, which is like a turtle shell) and I was excited to try the injeolmi flavor, which is like a peanut butter. Pros: clean and lovely environment Cons: price and taste We were SO excited to try K-Pocha -we really enjoy Korean street food. But our experience wasn't a great one as we couldn't finish the food. We ordered the Korean fried chicken bowl with stir fried noodles ($11.50) and a piece of cream cheese garlic bread ($6). We split a meal because neither of us were hungry and just wanted a snack-of-sorts. The cream cheese garlic bread was.... I can't even describe. I am literally a goat and will eat everything. Even if I don't like something, I will eat it bc I hate throwing away food/money. I couldn't. I'm familiar with a dash of sweet in Korean savory dishes. But it was.... It was so nasty I feel like there was something wrong with it. The outside looked like a garlic roll with lots of buttery and savory herbs, but the inside tasted like it was filled with a bad poppyseed cake icing. There was something really awful and "off" about it. For the KFC bowl, we told the register gal we didn't really want anything spicy (I'm a spice wimp) and she noted it should be fine. I will say, the chicken pieces were VERY crisp, juicy, and tender -but it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. My hubs enjoys spicy -but this dish pushed his tolerance and he couldn't finish. I was really sad to trash the food -this has only happened one other time during my eating out experiences. Trashing food is something I do NOT do lightly! I'm such a sucker for a hot dog and love Korean corn dogs. This spot was definitely worth the drive (less than 20 min from the downtown GR area - I went at rush hour so it was a bit more congested). The place is small and the strip mall has a lot of parking, yet it was difficult to find a spot. Maybe because it was raining and everyone was out to dinner that night. My friend and I arrived and luckily it was not crazy busy yet, but we definitely got there right before the rush! We were promptly greeted by the friendly staff and they took our order. We shared combo A and B and ordered a tater-nado. The corn dogs were the ramen and potato, half beef and cheese. Both were quite delicious but I do wish there was a place that spiraled the cheese and hotdog together to get both in one bite!! The potato was a little too doughy for me though, so I'd probably skip that one next time. But really enjoyed the ramen. The wings were flavorful and I wouldn't hesitate to come back! My only complaint is honestly that it's a bit small and the layout made it feel quite cramped. I sat next to the trash can and because of the amount of people inside, I felt like people were hovering over me a lot. I can't imagine that's an every time problem, so I'm less worried, but it was a bit much for a wet and rainy day. All in all, definitely go and enjoy this spot!! Korean Street Food served here. Located inside a strip mall near Metro Hospital. Inside is a bar top area for eating and about 5 tables. You go up to the counter to order and pay. They give you a buzzer and you pick up at another counter when it buzzes. I ordered their A Combo ($18). This includes a Korean Corndog and Korean Fried Chicken Wings. The dog comes in 5 varieties (Standard, Ramen, Potato, Hot Cheeto, and Dragon Breath), I got Standard. Inside you can choose: All beef, all chicken, half beef and half mozzarella, half chicken and half mozzarella, or all mozzarella. I got all beef one. For the Wings you can choose: Classic, Spicy, or Garlic Soy. I chose Garlic Soy. Everything was excellent.  This was by far the best Corndog I've had. The Wings were excellent. Not quite as good as Firefox, however a perfectly solid number 2.  They have other options and numerous Korean drinks to choose from. As well as macaroons. Plus they have corndog variety specials and other specials. They have only been open a few weeks and are already massively busy. They're long lines and the food takes time to cook. So be prepared to wait. The staff is friendly and seem to be learning the ropes quickly. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. An awesome new restaurant for the area. read more

A bit underwhelming but worth a revisit. Honestly I was a bit underwhelmed with the experience and food here. I did go during the soft opening, so I'll give them credit for doing their best with managing everything. I waited for over 40 minutes for my order and it wasn't hot. Unfortunately I did not get the infamous cheese pull in my Korean corn dog because of this. Flavors were decent and did make me think of the amazing street food I enjoyed in an Asian night market. So that's good! I also did enjoy the flavor of the spicy mayo. My boba was underwhelming, especially for the price. The tapioca did not seemed fully cooked. Might go for a different drink next time. The ambiance of the restaurant was cute. I liked the vibe and loved the music choices. The servers were very nice but I could tell they were a bit overwhelmed. Who would have thought we'd have Korean Street food right down the road in Wyoming? I was so excited to try this and after having gone twice, I still have plenty of things to try. Have been very happy with all of my choices and everything is tasty and unique- a very fun place to go with a foodie/ adventurous eater. I enjoy the half and half dogs, with half Mozzarella cheese and half beef or chicken hot dog. You can get a variety of coatings, I like the Ramen with the yummy mustard sauce (I'd buy that sauce in a bottle!!) The taternado is fun and crispy if a little hard to eat, but you're getting that for novelty, let's be real. My husband has gotten the tteoboki both times and loved it, said its something he'd love to have when he's sick too! I also have tried the kim chi rice ball and the cheese corn- straight forward and yummy. Staff is nice and willing to help and explain. Our first visit was on a Saturday at lunch and they were slammed! Happy to see their success and the wait was reasonable. They do offer online ordering too. My recent visit on a Friday evening was a bit earlier than a dinner rush but it picked up after we got our food. So be patient, it'll be worth it. Or order ahead! I went there recently for the first time on a Wednesday night. They don't delivery or take orders over the phone so you have to go there and order to go or stay there. When i went inside all the tables were taken and people were waiting. I placed my order and waited for about 20-25 minutes for my food. It was a bit longer than usual but since it's a new restaurant I would expect the service to be slow but I hope it gets faster over time or I can place an order over the phone. I ordered the potato corn dog with half mozzarella and half chicken combo with spicy tteok bokki and mango binsu. The potato corn dog was really good! It was crispy and flavorful. I loved the sauce on top, I would recommend getting some extra to dip it in. Just be warned it is very big and filling. The tteok bokki however was a bit disappointing. It was not spicy at all and more on the sweet side especially considering it is Korean I would've definitely expected more spice. The binsu however was amazing!! I loved it and would highly recommend it. I do plan to go back and try some chicken wings or a different corndog. I would definitely recommend this spot. read more

K-Pocha was our chosen restaurant for a quick dinner on Saturday evening. If you're not a fan of full on spices or texture - this wouldn't be a good place to choose. It wasn't as busy as we assumed - based off the reviews and their grand opening. The line went by quick, stood in line for at least 5 minutes before we placed our order. The cashier didn't seem stressed or overwhelmed, she took her time with us which made the experience better especially with their exciting menu. After placing our order, we received our buzzer - after waiting about 10 minutes or so, it went off and we got to pick up our food three Korean dogs, our side of Tteokbokki, and our two boba teas! Our Korean corn dog was very breaded - cheese was so CHEESY to the point where you had to literally break it with your fingers or wrap it around your corn dog . The taste was sweet with some spice! Tteokbokki was delicious with a taste of homemade sauce - at one point, it felt like it was too saucy and as if they used a sauce from a jar. We chose the spicy (6/10) option, it wasn't sweet or overpowering, it was enough sauce for your rice cakes, enough side portion to go along with your corn dog! The food was hot, our teas were cold - it was an amazing experience even though they don't have much space for seating - it was definitely worth it. The vibe itself was great, music playing in the background, everyone chatting around you. This is more of a "quick lunch hangout" vibe vs an actual sit down place. There isn't much privacy since seating is limited and it's pretty small. However, that didn't stop customers coming in. We were there for almost an hour and customers just kept walking in. We had an appetizer with rice and sausages on a stick that was very good, and also a dessert with melty cheese in it. Took black bean noodles to go for later, which were also fantastic. The breading was delicious when paired with the crunchy ramen and their mustard sauce. I enjoyed the black bean tteokbokki much more than the signature tteokbokki - the savory flavor of the black bean sauce is absolutely delicious (if you enjoy the flavor of soy sauce you'd love this). The signature tteokbokki didn't have much flavor which was disappointing. That being said the rice cakes were cooked perfectly which made both of them a joy to eat. The fish roe skewer was meh. It was very spongy and didn't taste of fish at all. The exterior tasted like a fried pretzel bun and the inside had this... paste? It tasted like cheese. It wasn't bad, just not what I had expected. Finally, the cheesy corn. It tasted primarily like corn (who would've thought) with a mild savory cheese flavor. Bonus points for the insane cheese pull. The portion sizes here were massive, especially for the tteokbokki and cheesy corn. I'd come back here again as I love Korean food. read more

I will start by saying that I think this restaurant offers something really great and unique for Grand Rapids. I had seen the giant corn dogs all over YouTube for years and I was excited to try them, so I was thrilled to find a place in GR with this offering. I got the flaming hot corndog with just cheese inside and a strawberry limeade. I'll start with the drink- the limeade was really thick and sugary, and barely had any lime in it, so I would likely get something else to drink if I were to visit again. The corn dog was cooked perfectly, but mine didn't have much cheese inside- maybe about equal to one string cheese stick-so I mostly just had breading. The breading had a sauce squirted on it that was fairly sweet, and it was also rolled in sugar, which I know is how these are normally sold. Somehow, the combo of cheese, breading, sugar, sweet sauce and hot cheetos really put me off. I'm not sure if this is just not my thing, or if the corn dog I ordered wasn't the best choice. The staff was friendly and my order was out quickly. Seating was very limited, so make sure you plan for that if you come during a busy time of day. Today was K-Pocha's soft open--great to have a Korean street food spot in the GR area. Despite being a private event, it was super busy the entire time we were there! I arrived after a busy shift and very hungry, so I got a Korean corn dog, spicy wings, four classic skewers, and a traditional bingsu. I meant to try the premium skewers, but they may have misheard me since it was pretty packed. I eat a lot of spicy food so found the wings more sweet than spicy, but the traditional beef corn dog was a fun summer food item with a crispy exterior. I'd definitely try the other varieties next time. My partner got the matcha bingsu. The "small" bingsu portions are huge! It was nice to have that desert to cool down with on a hot day. My brother and my parents tried some other Korean dishes like tteokboki and bibimbap which I would normally order at other Korean restaurants. The Tteobokki was overcooked and under seasoned, and the corn dog was so salty to the point it was hard to eat. This place has been hoppin' since it opened so we wanted to make sure to be prepared to either wait in line or not be in a hurry for a meal. We stopped in on a Saturday around 3p and it took a good 30 minutes waiting in line to order and then waiting for our food to be ready. There is very limited seating and the tables were full when we got there so we decided to wait outside until our buzzer proclaimed our tasty meal awaited. The inside was very clean and had excellent displays to understand what your options were before you ordered. We got the original corn dog (beef), the potato corn dog (mozzarella), Tteokbokki, and a honey jasmine milk boba tea. The corn dogs are quite large. I would've been fine with that for a meal (good to know for future visits). If you haven't had a Korean street dog, it has a sweet and savory batter but reminded me of a donut ‍. I liked it! The potato and mozzarella dog was my favorite. The Tteokbokki didn't hit the spot for me - I probably won't get that one again. I look forward to trying all their other options next time. If you don't want any of the foods and you are looking for a well-made honey jasmine milk boba tea, at least grab one of those. West Michigan has not been very impressive in the boba tea department IMO so I'm glad to see I have a decent option nearby.
