1 STAR! If that! This place is awful! First time here and completely not impressed. From the dirty and disguising neglected bathrooms (no toilet paper in ANY stall) to the food (chicken was cold in my quesadilla) to the tables that still need bussed after an hour has passed to the lack of staff ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! This place needs leadership and a serious overhaul. There is absolutely no one here in charge or is taking charge of anything that is going on. Again, not impressed! And please don't respond with "it's hard to find staff". Then don't take on 2 birthday parties and then a Friday night crowd. read more

Race was awful half the time we were on the track we were forced to stop or slow down. They should have extended the time but didn't. Wouldn't go again. Just go next door to top golf. I have been a K1 speed member for 6+ years and this was the most disappointing experience ever. We booked 2 races. For the first race, my car stalled multiple times which was dangerous as other cars were going very fast and could have hot me from behind. The staff raised the signboard for not using gas and pedal together and add much I am aware I was not doing that. After the lap, I raised my concern with Brandon in the staff who gave a plain response that "I apologise". I tried to explain that this is a risk with people can get injured and I am an experienced driver placed in top 3 position. He responded that I am not bring rude with him and he has other races to look into. I was surprised with that response and explained I am just raising my concern. He could have politely directed me to talk to the right person to talk to vs escalating the matter. Tim in the staff was polite enough to ask what was matter and calmly talk. All the races there were getting slowed down because of some accident and there was no clean race. We were a group of 6 and no one was happy with the experience. I don't write Yelp reviews but this was the only way to give feedback. Disappointment. --- update Colin from K1 speed reached out to me next day and assured me that concerned kart will be checked and Brandon will be trained about handling such situations. This was a surprise since I didn't expect much to happen. I hope things improve for good customer service and smoother races. read more

Showed up at 5 pm on a Saturday night. We were told it would be a 2 hour wait. We saw the building packed and asked what time they are open on sundays. We were told 10am. We showed up this Sunday morning at 10am. 18 people in line ahead of us. 22 total customers in the building. We are currently sitting in the lobby, 2 hours later still waiting for our turn to race. Even when they are not busy it's a 2+ hour wait apparently. The workers are nice, but it also would have been nice to know we would be waiting this long wether it is busy or not. read more

I am an electric car enthusiast, and have leased 3 EVs since 2012. But I don't get to push the low end torque so I was thrilled to try their Karts. I have now been twice and even though I've gone in non-peak timeframes, there is definitely room for improvement in customer experience in signage, flow through the different steps, safety brief, onboarding and offloading. Tom S's review on 12/28/2018 is spot on, and rather than repeat, let me extend Tom's review with additional other insights. On the positive side, electric cars are the future and the indoor track was clean, well lit, and there was no exhaust to suffer through. I live in Oregon, so it's really great to have two all-season covered venues near my workplace in Hillsboro-- Topgolf and K1 Speed. On the negative side, my second visit was frustrating with a run which was so interrupted with forced slow downs that I really didn't have much time to enjoy speed. It is inherently difficult to pass on a small track but I noticed on my second visit safety brief that it was lacking in explaining passing protocols, so I don't blame my fellow riders who were slower, the staff kept repeating "no bumping" but didn't say anything about giving faster drivers opportunities to safely pass. I would like to try again when the experience is improved, or when I can be assured that I can be part of a driving cohort of intermediate to advanced drivers. read more

I don't think K1 hires people that realize the cost of this entertainment for a parent. Customer service should be flawless but the food offered should be generous, not taking almost an hour for fries when the place is empty and then having just a palm full for $6.They should offer water not just bottled. There is no realization that supreme customer service, generous food portion to price and timeliness contribute to increased business/productivity and less stress during lulls. It cushions economic impact for the workers too. You may not have lost my business 100% to racing, but you have lost it 100% to any xtra purchases. I know many who feel the same. Top Golf vs racing gives more bang for buck, excellent service and entertainment. Wise up! read more

Speeds are controlled, with out any warnings and right from the first lap. I would not recommend this place.

My boyfriend loves this place for carting, but the service and food is absolute disgraceful. They leave their register stand where you order food unattended for long periods of time and it took us 30 minutes to receive our mac and cheese bites and nachos we had ordered. When we got our food, the mac and cheese bites were cold and clearly microwaved from a freezer. The nachos were missing nacho cheese ? and didn't have enough sour cream to cover half the chips. Long story short, if you want to go carting make sure you eat before hand or you'll be left starving and/or disappointed. read more

DO NOT COME HERE WITHOUT A BIG GROUP AND RESERVATIONS!!!! This place is a big disappointment. We called and were told to just come on in and it's first come first server. We could not reserve any time or prepay for our group of 5 people. So I told everyone to head on over and meet us there - they were traveling from Gresham, Clackamas and Milwaukee (not close to this place). So we show up, wait 10-15min get to the counter, are then told that there will at least a 4 hour wait before we can race!!! Nobody wants to stand around for 4hrs. Their reservation practices are ridiculous (well, actually no existent) Their excuse.... well, this is new place and this happens all the time on the weekend. Why the heck didn't they warn us on the phone before everyone headed over and wasted their time? I would have made other plans and not wasted everyone's day. read more

Spot was awesome, track was awesome, environment was friendly. Everything was going great until the staff gave some one else my wife's recorded footage of her race that we paid for. Which was the whole purpose of even being there. No compensation at all, very disappointed they wanted us to pay for another race but obviously I wasn't going to be fooled. I was really looking forward to sharing this experience with my friends, but they make it so difficult to race. First when we were trying to get information at the desk, one of the employees walked away while we were talking to them. Then I asked about the wait time, which was 1.5 hours, so I signed up and paid, and let them know I was next door. I asked when I should be back, just to that we were safe and wouldn't miss our spot in line, and the employee who was helping me, Ashley, said, "we ask you be back 30 before so people can sign waivers." So I said, we'll be back at at 5:15, and she said that'll work. When we arrived, they told us that we were not in line, and that she couldn't put us in line because some of us had not signed waivers. She said specifically that she told me that the wait time could increase, and ask me if "I was willing to take the risk" and that I agreed to that. We never had that exchange as she communicated that we would be racing in 1.5 hours. I will not be returning due to poor customer service and poor scheduling. read more

Waited in line for about 20mins just to be told I had to register first at there computer station . There was no signage or staff telling anyone to register first at computer for their waiver before going in line. And once the staff told my group that we had to register first, he laughed at us being disrespectful as if we should've known already and that we had to register and go in the back in the line again. And we were told it was going to be a 2.5 hr wait to ride. So we left. read more

Long waits especially for a new place are to be expected. I've been to a lot of K1 tracks especially in SoCal Irvine, Anaheim and they all have long waits. As long as you a lot for this, you will have a good time. This place is doing great and if they get even busier, maybe they'll open more K1 that will lessen the load on this place read more

Staff was not very friendly. We had a preset group of 15 people reserve our spots about a month ahead of time. When we showed up, we waited over an hour and a 1/2. When asked why we are waiting so long (since it was already close to 8:30 at night) they admitted they were putting smaller groups in front of us to get them in-and-out of there before closing. Not cool. They took my Gopro from me because they like to try and sell you camera footage from super shitty cameras that are nowhere near HD quality or have the proper FPS for such a race. You'd think it'd be enough that I would pay $49 for 20 minutes of fun but I can't even record it to try and show me and my group having a good time on our page? Weak. I had just won my race and wanted to take a picture of the final standings. They told me to get off the track and to go inside to take the picture. Right when I walk inside, I pull up my camera and the guy immediately turns off the TV that I'm about to take a picture of. I asked him to turn it back on and he told me that I could walk to the other side of the building and see it there. I thought that was rude but didn't want to get into it with him so I walked to the other side of the building only to see my results weren't on there, like he said. When I asked him to turn it on again he just said "Well.... you put in your right email address didn't you?" I said "yeah" to which he said "you can just see it on your email." As if I'd never actually wanted, or asked, to take a picture while I was there, or see my results shortly after racing. I didn't even get the email to show my results..... The snacks were overpriced just like a movie Theatre. I was planning on making this a regular spot for Meetup group but not after that experience. I'll be looking elsewhere for my group (of 550+ people) next time I want us to go karting. read more

It's awesome to have an electric Kart place here in Portland now. Most of the kinks are worked out in their operation and they have food and beer/wine that is reasonably priced. The races are kind of expensive, especially if you have a group. Races are priced for 14 laps not time. Recommend you leave a lot of time if you come here as waits can be long. Would give give 5 stars if they didn't have so much down time between races. read more

Ridiculous. Drove a total of 80 minutes to get to K1speed and have them tell our group that they are sold out for the "Grand Prix" event. Learn how to advertise that you are sold out so people don't waste their gas and time. Never going again. read more

I really enjoyed my time here. The new equipment and facility are in great shape. What really impressed me is that the batteries stay strong throughout the race. I called ahead to be sure that they wouldn't be too busy with parties. The woman on the phone was friendly and recommended I come on a weekday as weekends are slammed. The pit crew, Brandon and Reese, were friendly and did a good job waving flags and gave me some tips on the racing line to improve my times. read more

Have been here a couple of times. First time was a corporate team building event and then next time was with friends. Had gone there on a Thursday evening and one a Saturday afternoon. I felt the check-in process was very smooth. The lounge areas are good to wait for the rest of the party to arrive. The electric cars are great as they don't give out the smell. Some things I didn't like about the place were: the staff assume you know what you are doing. If your are a newbie to go-kart reaching, be sure to ask them the winner grading metrics. They don't explain clearly what are the metrics for winner judging for each race. If it's a 2 race option for $55 package, the qualifiers are graded on the best lap time. And the final race is graded on the best average time. The first time I was there, we were interlaced with 2 other groups. So, we ended up waiting for 20-25 minutes between each of our 4 races. Initially you don't mind. But it really gets to you when you have to do that multiple times. The second time I was there, their system collapsed on our second race. So they had to stop and pull us back to the start and restart. Though we did get a couple of free rounds this way, it did hinder with the seamless racing experience. Overall there are a lot of things this place can improve on. But, it's a good start for this business. Am going to go there one more time. You know what they say - third time is the charm. Awesome venue. Food is good for this type of place. Beware the wait times though. Ask before you pay, as they do not tell you the system they use to place people in races, on a decently busy day you can wait multiple hours before your first race. They should have an online system to sign up for specific times. read more

Prepare to wait all day to get in to race. They will just try to squeeze you in per the counter girl. So if you pay first, you will race whenever they can fit you in based on the big groups. Great place for birthdays but the actual racing staff is completely rude and inconsiderate of others. I understand the mask rule but if I'm not racing, sitting 6 feet apart from everyone, and eating I shouldn't be harassed. I don't like the way they control the mapping of the karts. I understand it's a corporation that owns k1 and it's probably a liability thing, but it's frustrating. After my first race the employee who was controlling the mapping of the karts pulled me aside to apologize that he was having an issue changing the map on my kart and it was really slow the entire race. Even though I paid full price for a compromised experience, no additional race was provided. The same thing happened to my friend in the following race. The races are also really short. Overall the staff is very friendly and this is a great place for kids or a beginner karting, I'd just caution a lack of accountability if there is an issue that compromises your experience. read more

The race itself was fine but we were there for three hours just so that my daughter who is in the kids section could do her two laps. myself and my son did ours fairly quickly. Check in was confusing we went to the computer screens immediately because we thought that was the first thing to do. Once we spoke to the person at the counter they checked us in and then told us how many races until ours I asked at that point if we needed our head scarf and they told me no you'll get that later. Well in fact once our names are called for the race we did not have a head scarf and were told we needed to go to the front desk. Get it right. Expensive but a fun treat for kids. I thoroughly read through the entire web site in preparation to take our fam there for our son's b-day in between our daughter's Basketball games. Clearly states no reservations less than 48hrs in advance and only for parties of 8 or more. Suggests contacting "your local venue" for local wait-times. Called in and was told this site averages 45-90min wait times and confirmed the only parties/reservations booked that day (the nest day less than 24hrs later) were at 6pm. Morning was the best time to come in. I left my daughter's game early to register/start waiting, wife follows in her car only to learn the wait was over (2) hrs as there were two reservations that morning and then a large walk-in group. Completely mis-led by the person confirming the schedule at 2pm the day before. 2hrs of time on our Son's b-day wasted and our son was super bummed. Immediately went on line in the parking lot and booked reservations at another track the same day, zero wait and had a blast. This place looks promising if it can get it's act together operationally. For us, Driving 45min somewhere for an unknown outcome and probable 90min to 2hr wait is not the way we operate so we're probably just not the target market for this place. Really wish I'd read the other reviews before we went out. Giving 2-star as it seems like there is potential here but our experience was 1-star read more

I've gone there once, and I thought it was a great experience. The staff seemed really friendly and helpful, and we had a blast. But the reason that I'm only giving them two stars is because I've been trying to get a hold of them all month. We were trying to schedule a corporate event there, and I wanted to ask some questions before I officially book it. I have called, on my personal phone, three separate times. Once on 6/1 at 3:53pm, 6/8 at 1:16pm, and 6/14 at 12:38pm. I called at least one more time on a different phone, and my Boss called on his phone as well. I left messages on all calls, except one, as it wouldn't let me leave a message. I have yet to receive a single call back. And since it's getting to be too late in the month, sadly, we will have to go some place else... read more
