If you get hurt here even though its their gocarts fault prepare for them to totally ghost you! Sign your injury away even if it's mechanical failure on their part they don't give a shit because of the waver I'm assuming. My wife injured her back because a go-cart rear ended her go-cart in the pits. The go-cart lunged forward forcing my wife to get rear ended and thus had to help her out of the K1 in severe pain and went straight to our chiropractor. She had multiple chiropractor treatment and when we emailed K1 to see if they would pick up the cost...NOTHING from them not even a reply to the email I sent! WOW This how you treat your customers when it YOUR GOCARTS FAULT! Be aware this place doesn't care about you just your money!!! DON'T GO HERE...Horrible customer service! Ashley and the manager, Danny Tabbaa, are the worst customer service representatives I've ever interacted with and it seems like none of the employees want to work there. Here's what happened on Sat. May 14 at 10:00pm... When my party of 2 arrived, we were told to check in on the computers. While we did, other customers were attended to. After checking in, Ashley ignored us (standing 5 feet away) and instructed 2 other customers, that walked through the door after us, to check in on the computers. She waited for them to complete check in and then served them. After they were done, Ashley told us that they were sold out and only had one opening left for the evening. I then asked to speak to the manager... The manager, Danny Tabbaa arrived and I explained the situation. He then proceeded to tell me that, "I am taking her word over yours." I stated that he was basically calling me a liar then...He said he was "not calling me a liar, but believed her word over mine." This contradictory statement got me frustrated and I asked for Danny's card so I could contact the corporate office. He handed me his card and said, "bye bye" in a very contemptuous manner. Now here's where it got even more bizarre...After we walked out and we're driving away, Danny came out of the establishment, into the parking lot, walking to where we had just exited. I don't know what his intention was, but he's extremely lucky that my buddy and I just drove away and didn't engage his provocation. I've emailed K1s corporate office and have not received an inquiry regarding this matter. I highly recommend everyone to avoid this establishment and take their business elsewhere! read more

We took my son here recently because he LOVES race cars. It was a perfect outing for him, and us! We didn't end up racing, as we were there for him. But he was super into it and is begging to go back already. Our son is 6, but tall at 4'2". Height requirement is 4'0" so keep that in mind if you decide to go. Our son ordered a flatbread pizza from the cafeteria that have and he enjoyed it. I drank a Blue Moon . Service was great and I have no negative feedback. Can't wait to come back! read more

1. There's no screen so it's hard to tell when you're up and very easy to miss a race. They say your name once over the loudspeaker and it's very easy to miss. Half the time I was going up and being like "did you call my name?" Also, I have no idea how someone who is deaf or hard of hearing knows when it's their turn. The screen should show the next 3 groups and an ETA so you can be sure to be ready when it's your turn. Having a mobile app with push notifications isn't a bad idea either. 2. I went when it was empty and it still took a few hours for 3 races. Races are only like 8 minutes. They need to do a better job of loading two standby groups at a time while the race is going so that the track is never empty. Lots of the time, the track has no one on it. 3. All cars need to be the same speed as the other cars in a race. It's fine to have advanced races or standard races but the two shouldn't mix. One of the issues is that small kids are going to zip around while an adult is going to go slower. Also, apparently some cars are set to go slower based on driver skill level which just creates more accidents. You've got 8-14 year old "advanced" boys who don't care about safety crash into you trying to pass. Then, they blame it on you even though they caused the accident. If your weight was tied to your membership and thus your car, K1 could do a really good job of ensuring identical acceleration and top speed between cars regardless of driver. 4. Customer service for the food is meh. I ordered a drink and food but wasn't given my drink while I waited for the food. It was just pretzel bites but it took a while. I ate them fast so I didn't miss my next race. Not trying to bash the place, but I do see room for improvement. I can't imagine going when it's busy if this is the level of service I got when almost no one was there. By the end of the third race I was really ready to get out of there. read more

My main complaint with this place is with the party planning, getting someone to answer the phone, or getting a call back. I think we were on hold for over an hour to book an event. They gave us a direct line to someone who could help with the details of a party so I thought the rest would run smoothly. That person did not return phone messages and sadly the details on our party invite were all wrong because I never got a call back. I was told that all that info would be in my confirmation: it was. Been coming here for a years now, I bring my kids to have fun. This time they tried to over charge me and they got cut, then my kids start racing and every 5 seconds they would stop the cars due to mechanical issues and would swap the cars. Finally my son got stuck with a car that would crash to the side, as soon as he spoke up the manager went nuts on him, screaming drive or get out !!!!! When we went to k1 speed on 10/19, it was our first time there, and we didn't know what to do so we went to the front desk. The front desk lady (I think her name is Serenity). She told us to come back in an hour 20 mins. There was an event so the junior track wasn't available till 3:30pm. We were playing at the Arcade areas and went back to the front desk around 3:20. Then another lady told us we need to wait for another 2 hours. Well, we needed to make reservations but we didn't do it like an hour ago (because it's our first time and we didn't know that). If Serenity mentioned it to us initially, we could have made reservations already. I understand it's probably our issue because we didn't reserve the spot. However, the front desk staffs are very careless and rude. We asked if we can talk to the manager then Seth came over just said to us "there's nothing I can do". Ironically when I came back asked him his name and I would post my negative review on yelp, he told me he's not even the manager. Well, we asked to talk to the manager and he came over. I don't know it's because I told him I would post a review made him change it. I also don't know how the management runs this place. DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! They charge you extra without telling you and add a 3.25% fee for using a credit card. The prices advertised are not accurate. They display prices for people paying with cash (without telling anyone). The staff is also incompetent. We came on a non-busy Sunday and waited close to 50 minutes just to check in. It should not take 50+ minutes to check in a customer on both cash registers. We have been here for close to 2 hours now on a non-busy day and have yet to race. Don't waist your time or money. Terrible customer service. As a first-time visitor, they ask you to register, which is fine. Then, they tell you it's a 25-30 wait to race. Thirty minutes later they tell you another 30 minutes, and they keep you there for another two hours. Finally (two hours later), they will for the first time tell you that you are actually registered for another track, and to race on the main track it's another two hour wait. Their reasoning: "parties are our priority". None of this is explained at the beginning. When we arrived no one there and there were no lines, as we waited lines got bigger. Came here for a work event and had a good time. It seemed a little pricey but as I didn't foot the bill it's hard to complain about that. It is not for the non competitive. You're basically racing little go karts that go about 40mph around a pretty narrow track. I've never done anything like this so my first race was awful. But you get a sheet analyzing your speed and performance which is helpful. By the second race I had gotten the hang of it. I could see this being good for a bachelor party or something. If you do make it a work event just consider who you're inviting and if they'll be into this kind of thing. read more

The race itself was fun but they have deceptive business practice. Do be on the lookout for mandatory membership fees ($7.95 on top of the race itself) and 3% extra credit card charge that they add on top of your bill. They did not state either of the charges with us and did not have an itemized list of charges prior to the transaction, so there is no easy way of checking the charges before swiping your card. The race itself is fun and what you'd expect from go-karting. Laps are on the shorter side of ones I've been to, about 23-28s per lap for up to 12 laps. read more

Newbie kart driver took a lesson with Blayke. K1 opened at 10am this day but the lesson was at 9 which meant I had the track to myself for a pretty good chunk of time. The lesson consisted of 3 driving sessions and a couple of informative tutorials. We did a quick walkthrough, some competitive scenarios and probably around 45 laps in total. Blayke told me what he saw as my biggest strengths and weaknesses and gave good advice on how to approach turn types and how to pass/defend. The lesson was $99 and came with the rentals included. They threw in my annual membership as well. Overall, very fun and encouraging. By the end of the session, I think I improved from about a 30 second pace on my first session to just under 25 seconds on my final lap! Might do another lesson but will definitely be back for monthly races. read more

Yesterday, my son and I went to the K1 in Irvine to spend a few hours. We purchased three races each and spent over $150. We had a great time racing the first two races, but on the third race my son's K1 racing car malfunctioned in lap 3 of 12. After we restarted and finished the race, I spoke with the manager, Danny, and asked if my son and I could race the third one again because his car had malfunctioned. There were no other customers waiting and it would not have inconvenienced anyone else. Danny replied that because the car malfunctioned after 2 laps, he could not allow us to restart the race. He told me that it "was against company policy" to allow us to restart. He was pleasant, but did not comprehend public relations. My son and I will NEVER go back to the particular K1 because Danny was short-sighted and ruined what was initially a spectacular day with my son. read more

I booked a birthday party for 25 people. I told the rep on the phone that I have 5 juniors and they said that they cannot reserve it but will make allowable time for them also. When I got there the whole place was chaotic. I understand that they overbook but the way everything was handled was outrageous. They arranged our party as they felt like it and didn't even ask our input. When I asked to change it, the manager, Danny T was yelling at me and did not want to change it. he created a scene, which was embarrassing for everyone. Our juniors did not get to ride. Then we had to wait a long while between our rides because they put a bunch of walk ins in between and I truly believe that some of the employees and manager's actions were done vindictively. Overall, it was a pretty bad experience for us and our guests. I will not return to this location again and I will carefully look into your other locations. Also, the carts were not maintained correctly. A couple of our people got hit with pieces of rubber coming from the tires, half of them were not fully charged and some were dirty. This place is actually super fun, it was my first time trying anything like this , i went in with a pretty huge group of friends and it was an amazing experience! They are so informative and so welcoming that it just makes the overall environment even better. The arcade is petty cool in the meantime you wait to be called ! Mariah was definitely our favorite she made sure we all had every bit of information needed and answered about every question in the book we had! It's a great time if you want to try something new and exciting! I 10/10 recommend for groups or individuals! All the staff was also super sweet including everyone from management and make sure our whole party had everything we needed to make it a memorable experience!They are also direct and honest about any costs and extras so you aren't surprised but it's worth every bit of it! We arrived about 20 minutes later and ended up waiting 45 minutes just to check in. An employee informed us that an hour wait just to check in was in fact normal. Once we finally got to the check in counter we were then told it would be at least 45 more minutes of a wait. The staff appeared untrained and confused, one group would take about 10-15 minutes to even check in. The whole place appeared to be run very poorly with the staff having little to no training whatsoever. We wasted a massive amount of time at this place. Worst experience ever go-karting. On our 2nd race, my phone fell out of my pocket and fell into the inner part of the kart. When I signaled at the worker, if they could let me just unbuckle and check or pull into pit stop. Instead he told me that I couldn't and when the manager came out he was very rude and wouldn't let me explain that I couldn't reach back there due to my service related injury, but instead he walked off saying that there were other races I was holding everyone up and then on his way off I heard yell at my wife from across the track about her seat belt. She then siginaled the worker and left the kart and walked off the track. After the race, I was able to get my phone, and when I called for the manager, I understood I was upset, but he told me there were signs that said no phones were allowed on the tracks. When asked where? He had to move a helmet that was blocking the sign. When I asked him, then where should I have put my phone he pointed at a small red locked that had no way to lock or was even supervised in any way. I opened it, and all 4 lockers were empty. His only response was that I'm at my own risk if my personal items were stolen. I lost it and had to get out. I'm sure me yelling and being upset and pointing out that he was an ass to my wife and their clearly dumb as fuck to think ANYONE is going to leave thier personal items in that locker, hence the empty locker. I don't recommend this place ever just based on this experience alone. I've been to this K1 before and every other time was great. I'm never coming back. read more

I'm giving 5 stars because I'm not a sore loser! I didn't win my first match, but I did have a ton of fun with my friends from Orange County. I was spending a night with my boys, the homies from my childhood, the dudes that helped shape me into the bad-ass I am today! I learned I am an asshole driver and not to mess with me on the road! Or the track! The race is 8 laps around the track, against friends and strangers. It's so much fun. I'm sure they have groupon deals on there but just going with the right crew, you're sure to have a good time. It's 25 for the laps and $3 for the membership card and the head cover thing! Super fun for kiddos and even adults with a need for speed! See you on the track! read more
