While waiting in a long line to receive my diploma, I decided to check Yelp for a lunch spot after Commencement. I came across the Terrace, located near the university, which featured a lovely patio and scenic views overlooking the golf course. When we arrived around two in the afternoon, the restaurant was nearly empty. The interior was stylish, but I preferred sitting outside to enjoy the view. A large group of golfers was having lunch nearby. Since it wasn't crowded, our server easily arranged a table for seven. One downside was a man who continued to smoke on the patio despite being told it wasn't allowed, though fortunately, he didn't smoke the entire time. My man and I shared a Mexican Mango Mule, which was especially refreshing after the lengthy ceremony. We sampled several dishes--calamari, chicken wings and fries, beef tacos, and chicken tacos--in order of preference, from most favorite to least (though none were bad, just varying in appeal). The kids enjoyed a bowl of Bolognese and seemed satisfied. To top it off, the staff surprised me with a complimentary brownie and ice cream to celebrate my graduation. This spot popped up on my Yelp, and I was honestly surprised to see it tucked right next to the golf course. Such a hidden little gem. The restaurant: I really loved the space. The outdoor patio has a gorgeous view; definitely the highlight. Inside, the bar area has a very chill vibe, and the lounge spaces (both indoors and out) make it a place I'd come back to just to relax and hang out. Food: The poke bowl was about 70% rice, which was a bit disappointing. The sandwich, though, was absolutely delicious. The chicken tenders were solid and hit the spot. Service: The waiter was pleasant and welcoming, but I do wish the service had been a bit more attentive. We had to ask and remind twice for things like water and a straw. You just pick a spot to sit and they will go ahead and come to you. The servers are very quick, very fast, super polite and they check in often with you. The spinach artichoke dip is solid! A very good choice if you're looking for a share appetizer! It does taste very similar to Costco's! The Mexican street corn was just okay. The only flavor you're really getting is a lime flavor and I'm sure that is because they use the juice to make the cheese stick to the corn. I would definitely pass on this. The Fish and Chips are great! Both the fish and chips are super crispy and come with a great sauce and good coleslaw! The poke bowl was good as well! It comes with a ponzu sauce that really gives it a lot of flavor. The tuna was nice and fatty! If you come on a Tuesday, they do something call tacos and tequila, and they have $7 dollar margaritas which is nice and very affordable! We were out in the Newport Beach area and decided to give this place a try for brunch. There were 3 of us and a toddler. We were immediately seated and requested an outside table since the weather was nice. This restaurant is also on a golf course so it's just nice to be outside. The food was good and fairly priced. We ordered the huevos rancheros, a breakfast burrito, fish and chips, and a side of pancakes for the toddler. The pancakes for the little one had berries on top. The huevos rancheros were served on a crispy tortilla and what the server called "tostada style". Fish and chips were good, not greasy or soggy. Came in on an NFL Sunday after shooting 100 in the AM. Love the new club house. Very clean and modern, good setup with the bar and Multiple screens, then the couch with the big TV. Ordered the Loaded tots (good) Wings (amazingly crispy, hot and juicy), a bucket of beers (Not a bad deal for Modelos!) a Club Sandwich with fries was great, and the homie said his burger was good. Add 2x tequila shots of Lalo, and the bill came up to about $150. Not bad, but definitely not cheap eats. If they have drink specials here for other things, this is definitely a cool place to stop after or before a round. The service is pleasant and the food is decent. We came here because the reviews were great (but a little misleading). We weren't greeted when we entered. Had to approach the staff and they just said we could sit anywhere. Then the menu was kind of tossed at us. They weren't super busy. We came at around 1:30. It was very spacious. Some of the staff were idle. I say the reviews are misleading because they offer a free dessert if you rate them and you have to mention the server's name. That's nice and all but I think most of the reviews become biased. The table near us had much better service though. We heard them chatting up a storm with the employee. The employee also explained the menu better to them. We didn't get that kind of service. I also feel like making my reservation was pointless. There was no need to make a reservation and they didn't even check. I was not okay with the employee that grabbed rags to clean the tables. We were asking her for some assistance but she refused to help us and said it was our server's job. What could have been better was her attitude and if she told our server that we needed help instead of dismissing us in a rude way. The food was okay. A little on the saltier side to what I prefer. The noodles were a little hard and some of them were bunched together. The Gochujang pasta was not spicy at all. Which was nice for me, but I was also a little surprised since I am sensitive to spice. Other places I've been to with this variation of the dish were all spicy. I like that little kick to it actually, so it was more of a cream pasta or pink sauce. What bothered me were the flies. There were many flying everywhere. I kept having to wave around during my conversation with my friend. It was distracting and unappetizing. I'm just glad I didn't find a fly in my dish. Another little thing that bothered me was the price of the drinks. I usually get an americano. It was priced at $6 here, which was a little more pricier than other places. But what shocked me even more was if you wanted it iced, it would be an extra dollar. This would bring my americano to $7, which I think is a little ridiculous since it's not like they craft their own coffee (or I'm not aware that they do). I was more confused about the iced part. It's the same ingredients, espresso and water. I guess the ice costs more in Irvine. read more

We were informed that we could sit anywhere, so my friend and I sat outside to feel the nice breeze for our lunch date. The atmosphere is calm/relaxing. Being located in Irvine, it's a nice change of pace from the busyness of the city. Our server was quick and came by our table often. There were no complaints about the service since she was nice and checked in frequently. I ordered the Aloha Poke Bowl, and my friend ordered a Ceasar Salad with chicken, made into a wrap. The poke bowl is HUGE! For $24, the price is justified for the size alone, but the quality of the tuna and all other ingredients tops it off (sauce: ponzu). I enjoyed this meal, but since it was so large I took the rest to go. Additionally, I requested avocado on the side because I have an intolerance to it, which was not a problem for them to accommodate. My friend also only finished half of her wrap since it was so filling. She said that it was yummy, and gave the rest to her boyfriend to try. After about 20 minutes without any interaction, we left. Very disappointed. We booked 5 tables on yelp for today . Wanted to surprise my husband with a group of friends. Had considered booking a private party but was told their party room only accommodated 19. So instead we made reservations a through yelp. Upon arrival I found half the group of 12 people had been told they could not sit inside because we had not warned management we were coming. Wanting to talk to the manager he looked so angry I hesitated and even said I would like to have a kind conversation. As I tried to explain we booked different groups as separate tables he began to berate me and interrupted with anger. I said stop I do not want to have a fight with you ... so nevermind ... as I went to walk away he continued to yell ... you know you are wrong!!! I have worked for an airline with great customer service training ... I would have lost my job if I treated the customers this way... very uncomfortable to deal with this man and I suggest he get more training and perhaps anger management training as well. Where should I start! Positives: The location is very peaceful, nice view of the golf course, humble and pretty. Perfect place for brunch. The food is good too. Negatives: The service here is the worst. After seating you there is no more service. I've been here twice and both times I had to get up and go to their bar area to ask for the server or coffee, and still took another 20 or so minutes for help to arrive. Their coffee also very bad, like mixing powder into water. Today we came for Mother's day and no where on their site or yelp or booking said they only have a buffet. It was a very bad surprise. I hate buffet and had I know would have booked us for somewhere else. According to the server many people ended up leaving once they found it was buffet style when they arrived. Both time I left proper tip as if we got proper service. I don't like ruining my meal by ending or interrupting it with complaint to the manager. But tip undeserved give lack of service. I hope the owner reads this and does something about the service either trainer the servers better or hire more. I would like to come back for the environment but that service in inexcusable. The experience at The Terrace is lovely. Some will just say it's the 19th hole of a golf course, but this restaurant/bar is awesome. As a non-golfer, this is I guess hole 1 for me since I would have never made it through 18 holes of golf, but regardless of if you're a golfer or not you're welcome here and there's even a separate parking lot. Taco Tuesday is also not just a great deal at The Terrace but the tacos were also really good!! I went to a crappy looking late night taco place that everyone raves about in Downtown LA recently, and these tacos are equally as good in my opinion and come on an actual plate with chips and salsa, not a flimsy paper plate. The Taco Tuesday margaritas are also top notch and the terrace views are superb. The service is a bit slow but considering I was also not wanting to be rushed, it was a nice and relaxing experience. We came here to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday while watching the World Cup final. Our family had five separate reservations for six people each, all booked through the reservation system under different names. My mom made two of the reservations, and three of her friends each booked one under their own names. Each reservation was intended to be its own table, and each table planned to pay separately. When I arrived with my 5-year-old son, I found most of our group outside. From what I understood, they had not been allowed to remain inside near the tables we believed had been reserved for us. I was confused, so I went to see what was happening. Instead of calmly explaining the situation, the manager immediately spoke to me in a condescending and aggressive tone, saying, "What we're not going to do is put more tables together. I told him we had 5 tables reserved, but he dismissed it, saying no one had booked it through him, and repeatedly shouted that they couldn't accommodate "a party of 30." The problem is, we never asked for one table of 30 people. We had five legitimate reservations under different names, five separate tables, and planned to pay separately. If the restaurant doesn't want multiple reservations arriving at the same time for the same celebration, that's understandable--but then the reservation system should prevent that from happening. We simply booked the reservation times that were available through the reservation system. What made the interaction even more disappointing was that the manager spoke to me that way in front of my 5-year-old son. He also spoke in the same aggressive manner to several women in our group who are in their 70s. None of us were raising our voices or being disrespectful. We were simply trying to understand what the issue was. Once our table was finally seated, our server initially seemed frustrated by everything that had happened. She repeatedly asked if we were "the party of 30," rolled her eyes during the conversation, and initially insisted that everyone had to pay together. I explained that we were simply our table of six and were happy to do whatever made things easiest for the staff. After that, things improved. She let us know our food would take about 30 minutes, which I really appreciated. Since we were there to watch the match, we weren't in a rush at all. From that point on, she was professional, even if she wasn't particularly warm or friendly, which I completely understood given how busy they were. Unfortunately, the atmosphere had already been affected. I overheard staff referring to us as "the party of 30" while talking to other tables, and it felt like we had been labeled as a problem before we had even sat down. That seemed to stem directly from how the manager handled the situation. Later, my mom--the person coordinating my dad's birthday celebration--went to speak with the manager herself. She calmly told him she wasn't looking for an argument and even acknowledged that he seemed stressed. Rather than listening, he talked over her, raised his voice, and repeatedly told her that she knew she was in the wrong. She simply tried to explain that our group had booked five separate reservations through the reservation system under different names and had shown up exactly as the reservation system allowed. The most disappointing part of the experience wasn't the wait, the confusion, or even being told the food would take longer. We completely understood that it was a busy day and that the World Cup final brought large crowds. It was the manager's behavior. He chose confrontation over communication and repeatedly treated multiple members of our family with disrespect during what was supposed to be a joyful celebration of my dad's 75th birthday. It's especially unfortunate because there were so many positives. The food was good, the drinks were good, and it was a great place to watch the game. The gentleman in the pro shop was incredibly kind to my son. I understand restaurants get busy and stressful during major events. I genuinely have empathy for that. But professionalism matters, especially from management. A calm explanation would have solved everything. Instead, the manager's behavior set the tone for the entire staff and ultimately overshadowed what should have been a wonderful family celebration. read more

The food is decent, but the attitude and attentiveness of the staff really ruin the experience. During our last visit, we sat there for almost 10 minutes while servers kept looking over at us but never came to take our order. The overall service felt careless, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. What's frustrating is that this wasn't a one-time experience -- it has happened to us repeatedly. The restaurant is nestled into the golf course there and have a beautiful view overlooking the greens. Although they have a full menu and bar it's more like a cafe that day where when we came, as it was self seating. We were seen about 5-10 mins after sitting down which wasn't so bad! (As POC we were unsure what to expect!). The food ended up being really good and the drinks were fantastic, I had a Bloody Mary and and Irish Coffee. My friend and I came back because we had such a great experience here last year, but this visit was honestly really disappointing. Even though it wasn't busy, we waited a long time just to get menus, and it felt like our coffee and tea order had been forgotten. The iced coffee came out completely watered down, and we had to remind our server about the tea. Even though we specifically ordered chamomile tea, our server just brought over a box of random tea bags and told us to pick one ourselves, which felt careless and unprofessional.
