Went go karting for my sons 11th birthday. We have gone to a similar place many times but in another state. Well let me tell you my experience here left alot to be desired. The entire experience from A-Z was extremely disapponting. My son was taller than then recommended height yet was stuffed into a childs size go kart because his legs werent "long enough" for the adult size and they wanted to avoid his injury (more like liability) and while I understand that they should readjust the height requirement because its obviously not accurate. But I let that roll. Then when he was "racing" he was with kids that were atleast half his age and who couldn't drive at all. So everytime they collided or hit the side rail the cars would revert to the caution speed. This happened atleast 6 times during his "race". I went to talk to the cashier who quickly referred me to her manager who then told me after not listening to my full complaint that there are no refunds. I promptly replied to her that if she had listened properly she would have heard that I was voicing my displeasure not demanding a refund. I also told her that they need to rethink their strategy regarding heights and ages because this wasn't what I paid for. She then offered me a free race which I declined. Then my husband had the hardest time finding a helmet that fit. Once he had determined that he was going to ask for a refund one of the employees told him that there is one large helmet and he produced it from the back bottom corner of the shelf. Post race my husband noticed that he had lost the ear pieces to his glasses (due to trying on so many helmets) and no one seemed to care or wanted to make any effort to help us find it. Which in itself created another issue. Extremely disappointed in what is considered service these days. read more

First time visiting this location and there are Turns, turns, turns. I came on a Sunday it wasn't overly crowded. I didn't have any problem getting scheduled for races. The staff was knowledgeable, I found them to be friendly and kept people safe. Yes, there are flags you have to remember, it's really not hard. And if your complaining about not knowing what flag colors mean then your probably the person the staff is waving the blue flag with the orange strip at every single lap- that means you're blocking faster drivers. I see other people complaining about racing with people at a lower skill level, yes it happens. If your in such a position...PASS THEM. If you can't figure out how to get around then be mad at yourself for not picking the right line, it's not the staffs faulty you don't know how to race. I had an awesome time. This is the first time I went to this racetrack, and I never will again. First off, you're going to have at least a 1.5 hour wait from when you arrive to when you want to race. The staff doesn't work efficiently and don't have racers get ready while another race is going. It's just a time suck. Next, they'll tell you you can race with your friend if you wait the 1.5 hours, so you want to give them a shot and you wait. Then, after 1.5 hours, they only call your name and not your friends, and you have to wait even longer. It's a disappointment where there were many points I was just ready to leave and lose the money I paid to race. Long story short, it's just not worth it. read more

Great time at K1. Friendly staff and efficient use of the track so you're not waiting around for a race. I regularly race at Action Karting in Morrison and this is an awesome alternative. Rudest person i've ever had to deal with in my whole life. My friends and I are teens but being very nice, respectful, and understanding to the cashier up front but she was so unwelcoming and rude for absolutely no reason. We booked our employee Christmas party at K1 Speed this year. We were not able to have a party last year due to the pandemic and really wanted to treat our employees to some fun! K1 Speed went above and beyond to make sure we had an evening of racing fun. Our employees and their families were able to race as many times as they wanted too. The staff assisting on the race track made sure that any first time racers, knew how to operate the cars and went over all of the safety rules. This place is great to race! They have one track. Their go karts and pretty safe and sturdy. The staff is awesome! They explain everything to you. While you race you can see your race times on the wall. And then at the end of the race, you are given a sheet with all kind of information including your best lap, avg lap, fastest racer, etc etc. A couple of tips: wear close toed sneakers and if your a little on the thin side wear something a little thick because your back will get a little soar the following day. read more

Got a groupon. Only two of use. They made sure we know all the rules, completely. If there would have been more the 4 people it would not have been so much fun. Safety. .. Staff was watching real carefully all the time. I felt safe they where watching so close. Most fun I have had in ages. Need for speed. Car go fast. Totally safe, if you follow the rules. And exciting. Fun for all kinds of people. Large track, so did not go so fast. Only problem is had to where sock under helmet to keep it clean. And helmet got real hot during 10 laps. I came in for a casual race with friends and family. I met Nichole and she was very helpful and friendly. I didn't know much about the place and she was able to guide me through everything! My boyfriend's 30th birthday was coming up and I wanted to make it special by surprising him with go kart racing with his family and closest friends. I submitted an inquiry a month prior to his birthday on the K1 Speed website and received an email shortly after saying to expect a phone call for finalizing details. Fast forward to two days before his birthday, still hadn't received a phone call or another email. I called and spoke to an event representative and she told me the time I requested was already reserved for another party. Frustrating, but I was able to move it up 2 hours and change our dinner reservation elsewhere. She told me to speak with my party and make sure the change in time would work, then she would call me back by the end of the day to finalize the hold on that time slot. The next day comes along, still no phone call. I tried calling multiple times and was never able to get through to a person. It's now the day of the party and I frantically call multiple times, and again, am unable to get a person on the phone to speak to. It was an automated menu and I selected about every option, but no matter what I selected, it would take me back to the main menu. I figured since she at least placed that hold for our time slot, it would work out. WELL, we get there at our arrival time and they say there is no reservation for our party and are unable to find my name or inquiry at all. The check-in desk told us it would be a three hour wait.. Not happening. They were friendly and offered a couple free races if we were willing to wait, but over half of my party decided to go home and the rest of us found something else to do. I am very disappointed in the huge lack of communication, especially considering I tried planning this so far in advance. This place would probably be a blast, but I will not be returning or trying to host any events here again. read more

We went here with two adults and two kids and I am very impressed with how nice the facility and carts are. They have optional paddle shifter carts which force you to chose the best line and control your speed to get the best lap time. The staff is friendly and approachable and made sure we had an awesome time. Amazing facility. Great go-carts. Be aware of the extra $7 per person for the "license" fee. The kids running the place DO NOT enforce the "NO BUMPING" rule hence making it a really dangerous situation. I went with my husband and two teenagers. Four adult men were racing and running into others. They didn't care about the rule or anyone else. My husband and I were hit HARD several times each. I'm glad it wasn't my teens. They'd be injured. The wait was long- 1 hr and 45 minutes. After we realized that enforcement wasn't occurring, We tried to get a refund for the last race of the 3 race package- they said no. We love to go-cart. Great experience for the family. We have been coming almost weekly for a month and decided to sign our 7 year old daughter up for league racing as well. Daddy and daughter enjoy their race time together and I get to sit back and enjoy some snacks as a spectator. The general manager always greets us and makes us feel welcomed and at home. We are very disappointed with K1. First of all They require a part booking to be 8 people plus. I understand for certain amounts of people it might cause delays but It did something's -We couldn't book anything at all flat even with six people... - My son hoped to keep the price low and invite his six close friends and when told he has to invite more that slightly seems rude... Yet we were told there would be a spot for us on the day as long as we call and hour before and say we are coming in... We call in 2 hours in advance (prior to the guests arriving, some were close to serving to our house) we called and we were told it was booked even though we called before a few days back asking if it was still okay... But there were no more openings! This sent us in a frantic frenzy of calling places seeing what was possible. Some suggestions A party should be allowed if it's 3+ Because I feel like my son was hurt that he didn't have enough "friends" Don't make promises you can't keep either! We had awful service and they nearly ruined my sons birthday... The only good thing is Jumpstreet saved the day! Can't say the quality of the place because we couldn't even experience it! read more

Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. First, we (girlfriend and I) had to register on the computer, which takes about 5 minutes. Then we go to the host stand, and tell her we're ready. She looks on her computer. Not there. So we had to do it all over again. They did not mention there would be a wait time in between the two races we paid for. First race went okay, even though I got slammed in to about 3 times, very hard. The employees didn't do anything about that even though all over their facility there are signs saying that they have a STRICT no-bumping/contact policy. Not true at all. Finally after a 40 minute wait for race number 2, we start. I was excited after the first race, as I wanted to compare my lap times. However, on the very first lap, some jerk SLAMMED in to my girlfriends's kart, who was behind me, which somehow launched her 2-3' off the ground. Her kart hit my arm, and shoulder, thankfully missing my head. She landed on the other side of me from where she had been pre-collision. The employees ran over to see if we were okay. We were not. My shirt was ripped up and I had a really bad abrasion and torn skin. Today (day after) I still can not lift my arm above my shoulders, and my gf also landed very hard and hurt her spine and is sore on her legs as well. Worst part is they didn't even make the jerk who hit us quit racing. They offered to get us new karts so we could finish the race, but clearly we were in too much pain. Of course we signed waivers so can not take any action, but they did not stick to their policies whatsoever. We did get a refund for the second race. Will not be returning. This is our second time coming for junior racing (12 yo and 10 yo boys). They love it and we will repeat. The electric cars are amazing! Computer controlled for age-appropriate racing and safety, and very quiet. These blow away the gas powered carts at Unser (we all got nauseous there from the fumes). The young staff is very helpful and professional, not preoccupied slackers engrossed in their cell phones that you so often find on retail these days. We are considering the one-a-month race series. read more

My first experience with K1 was in San Fran this summer. This new location only open one month is Awesome! Everything is new and squeaky clean! The track is great and one race can kick your butt! They are very well organized and efficiently perform your brief orientation for first-timers! A group of kids were having a birthday party while we were there. The cars were much faster than I had anticipated. Tons of fun and usually not too busy. It's pricey but worth it. I agree that a slightly larger track would make this place even better as I'd love to go full speed on a straight away. I also had a soar back from all the crazy tight cornering. I was cursed at by an employee at my 13 year olds party because we were asking to wait 10 minutes for a late arrival. At my corporate event last night, with ten business folks, we were left waiting for over an hour in their Spartan "fun" area. I took my boyfriend here after reading so many negative reviews about Unser (they referred me to K1). It was easy to find and we passed a billboard on the way. It was my first time ever driving a go kart of any kind so I was pretty nervous, but they were really helpful and I didn't feel too embarrassed for going so slow! We raced with two other people and my boyfriend had a problem with them not letting him pass even when the passing flag was waived, but he had a lot of fun and so did I!
