This was my first visit to K1 with my kids. The first impression was great-big, open space, lots of seating, and clean. I got there early and registered online, prepaid for races, and printed and signed waivers. For some reason, the online systems do not allow you to create profiles for your kids, so that had to be done at a terminal. We also need to purchase memberships which was not something we could have done online ahead of time. Not a big deal, but a certain miss for a large franchise company. It required getting in and out of line twice, some signage would help. My biggest issue was the staff, 1 stars across the board. There were only 10 customers in the building but waited 5-10 minutes for staff to greet us at register. Between the masks and loud music, we really couldn't hear their instructions, they were not pleased to repeat themselves and seemed visually annoyed. We entered the track as the first people there and waited at the gate for 10 minutes before anyone came over to greet us. There were 4-5 workers talking and looking at their phones until I finally waived someone over asking if we were in the right place. The cars and track were great, kids had a blast, this could have been a 5 Star review if the staff had a little training on customer service and passion for racing and working with public. One thing to note. I watched a track full of kids walk back unassisted by staff and throw their helmets on the shelf with the "sterilized" helmets. A new group used them afterwards without them being cleaned. read more

I just went here on January 2, 2016. Don't know why the other person was complaining. Things seem to be run smoothly. Note, first timers need to register on the computers either online or onsite. Then get in line to sign up for and pay for races. I only waited about 20 mins to race. The race is exhilarating. These aren't your beach town go karts. They're fast! I spun it sometimes in turns. Terrible experience. We had a group of 15 and booked the $90 Grand Prix event for 7pm. None of us got to even sit in the karts until 8:30pm and it was only half the group as we had to split into two with our party size. The second group still had yet to sit in a kart by 9pm. This was when we found out they had set up our races wrong. The second group who had yet to go was supposedly the last race for the whole group. We paid for the grand prix event which is practice race, qualifying race, and final race. We were all supposed to get 3 races. We complained to the manager who "apologized" and set us up for another race for each group... This still wasn't right. We told him we paid for the Grand Prix event which is 3 races. Manager told us actually Grand Prix is $95, you only paid $90 for the mini. Such BS, the website and emails stated $75 for mini and $90 for GP. It was late and we were sick of waiting and arguing, but definitely won't be coming back. read more

I went their with my family and it was a horrible experience the pricing is very very high. We called before we arrived and we asked for the pricing and they said that we would end up paying 50 bucks for 3 people and when we arrived they denied that they said that over the phone and we ended up paying 100 bucks for only 10 minutes and I wish it was worth it but it wasn't, the go karts went way too fast and they would suddenly stop in the middle of the race because of that problem my son's go kart stopped and someone crashed into him and he hit his head really hard I do not recommend this place read more

Been to a few tracks...this one is slower than usual, but again, they are still getting their stuff together. This place is huge with 2 tracks! Staff was very helpful. They said it usually gets extremely busy on Saturdays but wasn't too bad when I visited. Its great having the option of two tracks, and probably helps when it gets busy. I was impressed with the meeting space too. I love the electric karts, quick acceleration and no smell. Staff was helpful. Looking forward to a return visit. Only about 20 minutes from downtown. read more

I recently discovered K1's new location. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Literally every staff member and manager made a lasting impression, even on my first visit. The facility is very clean and since the go karts are electric, the track area isn't smoggy and the whole place is very comfortable, temperature-wise. They have a couple function rooms which would be great for a birthday party or corporate outing. I'm hooked and will definitely be back very soon! read more

When signing up and paying for 1 race for 2 ppl we were surprised to be told to pay $56 instead of $40. Apparently $8 membership is NOT OPTIONAL! We signed up right after a group of 6 and while they raced their 1race at the 30-40th minute wait, we had to talk with the boy calling names if we are even in the list after 1hour of wait. We started seeing people just entering go before us and it started being frustrating. We raced with the group of 6 on their 2nd race after waiting for almost hour and a half. The rules on the wall are extremely clear- no bumping to other people, if you can't pass you wait. I was personally hit more than 5 times!!! Unacceptable!! 3 of which by the same person! I brought my 9 year old niece here this past Sunday and she and I were both very disappointed. When I got there the place was busy, plenty of kids running around and people signing up to race. I registered my niece and went through the checkout, paid for a 5 race pack since it included the membership, only to find out after I had already paid that she was only going to be able to race once and by herself because the other kids were there for a birthday party starting soon. They should have told me before I spent the money that she would be racing alone and that she could only go once. She still has 4 races left on her card and I am really disappointed I spent the money in the first place. read more

Do yourself all a favor and spend a little more money and go to F1 Boston. I don't even who where to start about this place. At first this place looked cool, and it was much more affordable for a college student to afford, but I regret it all. Let me start with the mediocre staff that works there. The staff running the race barley communicated with me and my friends about the rules. This was my first time go-carting, so I dont know the basic rules yet. All they told me and my friends was to look up the wall and remember what color flag meant what. Also they didn't even announce that the race was starting. I had my foot all the way down on the break, but I was going slow and then all of a sudden every kart started passing me because their carts were going faster. I do have to say, the lack of communication from the staff blows. All they do is brag about how good and fast they go when race. What a joke. Another major issue I had with this place is that they started to take control of my cart from their computers. For the price im paying, I should be able to go as fast as I wanna. I didn't bump cars with anyone to deserve my kart to be over taken, I think it was the dude standing at the computer who felt like being a dick head. Overall, not worth the price for what you get. The track is pretty lame too. F1 boston is the better one, no question. read more

Today we have been there with family of 4. We haven't been there before so we ask the service girl at desk how it's working. Comment unfriendly 'go to the computer over there...' ok everybody must sign in. Then back to miss unfriendly and asking about prices. At first 8$ for each to get a member card... we told that we only for a visit here but it doesn't matter. 32 bucks for nothing. Completed we pay 180$ for 2 races with 14 laps. The courses are boring the karts slow . So it is only an expensive adventure for 1 h lost time. Never again. read more

The go-karts are kept in decent repair for the most part, although some of the cars have noticeably better handling due to differences with the tires etc. However, the staff are inattentive during races. On the side where children race most often, for instance, during our most recent visit a head-snapping collision wasn't noticed because the attendant was looking elsewhere. The staff don't seat people while the current race is ongoing. This has the result of making wait times a lot longer. During our last visit, my younger child was forced to wait (forcing our entire party to wait longer) because they switched in an adult group ahead of his last race with no warning, after telling us this wouldn't happen. The attendants also show favoritism to people who are apparently their friends, speed-limiting other cars while letting the regulars race faster (I personally experienced this during a recent visit, when I and my friends were speed-limited for the first two laps while another car was not). Read the other reviews carefully--others have experienced the attendants showing bias and limiting/non-limiting some racers for no reason. This makes the rankings and race results meaningless. All in all, I'm not impressed. It's too bad, because with better management it would be a fun local place to spend an odd hour. I won't return. read more

I came with a Groupon deal for two races, otherwise it would have been pricy. It's $20 for one race and $40 for two races. They have two small tracks, but you get a ton of laps since the races are 8-10 minutes. Overall the experience was great. read more

I was very disappointed in the service. It not only took what felt like hours to be serviced to pay for my actual races, but I also had to pay a membership fee ? First of all, I wasted 6 dollars because I will more than likely never go back again. So thank you for making me pay some made up charge so you can sucker more money out of your customer. Also, $20 a race ?! Twenty dollars for a single race .... I know of places with better service, friendlier staff, an actual cafe which has staff working behind it at all times, and functions perfectly THAT COST HALF OF THIS!!! I can not believe I paid that much for a few laps. A member of our party actually left before we raced because it took nearly 2 hours to be called! I appreciate the staff offering a seat adjuster to accommodate for my little legs, how ever I think they could have prepped some of the other groups that went out. When I'm wasting a lap under yellow because someone can't figure out how to reverse I blame the staff for not demonstrating how to operate the karts. The facility is pretty sweet. I'll forever be more a fan of F1, but the concept was pretty similar. You're definitely paying for the experience of the place rather than the actual experience of racing. The only reason I can give them one star is because of the pizza. Which I had to buy while we wasted two hours waiting because we were starving. However, the pizza was delicious and had an amazing dough. Unless they start giving the pizza out for free I will never be back. read more

My only suggestion, and the reason for 4 stars instead 5, was having a party host available to help in the party room. Management of the track is very poor. They give conflicting numbers for max racers in a group, which ranges from 10 to 15 depending on who you ask. Check in is chaotic. We were booked for 5, but did not start until probably 6. Worst, one of the cars' wheel almost came off during the race. When i pointed this out, they took it very lightly and treated it as a simple mechanical problem. They claim to check the cars every morning but it seems like their inspections are not enough. We waited for almost 3 hours and watched as groups that got here after us raced before us. The race was decent, but not worth the price or the wait. I've been to many go kart tracks around the world while traveling. It is nice to try out some electric karts, but they definitely have some flaws. The karts engine shuts off when you use too much break, like if you are going around a sharp turn. 2 out of my 3 races I was in a kart that was having problems starting. The staff was the worst part about this place easily. They all look like young kids probably still in highschool and none of them are on the same page as eachother. They also raised the price so if its your first time going it will cost you over $58 for just 3 races(including the pointless "license"). I definitely wont be going back until they lower the price. I'd rather make the trip out to a better track anyway. read more

Worst experience of my life. Overpriced and forced me to sign up for a membership ($7) when I will probably never go there again. Token machine was broken and asked the lady at the front desk three times to get someone to fix it or find a way for me to get tokens. After the third time she told me no one can fix it and none of my friends were able to play any games for the hour we had to wait for a 12 lap race. The guy was extremely bad at explaining the rules and never told us that if it was our first time we had to race the first half of the race in a slower mode. They turned on the fast speed right when I was going around my first corner and I ran into a wall and they instantly turned it off again. After three laps they finally turned it back on and some guy cut me off and I hit another wall and they turn it off again. All in all I only had one lap with the actual speed and paid over $30. Basically this place is not a good experience and I do not recommend it ever. read more

So it was my first time at k1. There was 5 of us total, 2 of which never been go karting before. So we did 3 races, and all 3 races we had these two people who were "experienced" and had noticeably faster karts than us. One of the guys was clearly 40+yrs of age and not sure if he was confused weather we were racing or playing bumper karts. They kept bumping/hitting/spinning us out and the staff there was allowing it (even though that's not allowed). Last race I was ahead and the kid kept hitting me and raised his hands up as if I was in the wrong. Staff should've never allowed this to happen ( my girlfriends back is all bruised up ). The older guy who kept hitting my girlfriend told her at the end "don't get mad I was just having fun, just messing with you ".Soooo unprofessional of the staff and some of the staff members there were very rude. Never again will I go back. Only reason why I didn't go to F1 instead of here is because my younger sister doesn't have her drivers license yet. K1 needs to implement a better training program for their staff.... read more

On 24 May 2018 I visited the K1 Speed Boston location and had terrible service right from th start. They ignored me letting me stand in line for over 10minutes, where there were no other customers in the building other than my party. Then they looked at one of them and said he can't use th larger track he's not tall enough, to where I had them measure him, and he was over the required heigh of 4'10". Then we finally get called and they tell us we are on the smaller track due to low Manning and him being under the age of 18. The website specifically states that there is no age limit on height requirements under the FAQs. I then asked to speak to th manager who they told me was to busy to deal with his customers. I then finally got him who was not only rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful but also told me if I were to write a review he would refuse service to me which violates my first amendment rights - freedom of speech. I would not recommend coming here the customer service is awful and the manager did not make the experience any better. read more
