Grooming staff.. unprofessional, lazy, dishonest DO NOT RECOMMEND‼ I booked a full groom which is said to include anal gland expression and nail trimming shampoo and hair cut etc... but he came out same as I brought him in. He smelled same as I brought him in. We had went to the dog park day before as he was going to the groomer today. They didn't trim nails or fur under and around paw pads. They didn't cut his hair or bathe him. I brought this to the attention of the staff and they send him back. They brought him back out and still nothing was done. They proceeded to tell me they would bring the groomer out so I could tell her what I was asking. I again brought this to the attention of the staff and they brought him in back to fix it... but again he came out the same. He's very sweet and easy to groom. Mind you his hair is short as he is a terrier mix about 18 lbs. and easy to wash and trim not much is needed. When I got in my car and petted him around his ears there was black gunk on my fingers from the ears being dirty!!!when I paid $70 for this. I would like to introduce you to Bentley. Bentley is a Pomeranian Shih-Tzu with LOTS of fur. Bentley got groomed today at K9 Loft. His very first visit there. Bentley HATES to be groomed and is DIFFICULT at best. We are simply amazed with the results. Santiago was his groomer and did everything I asked for (which is hard with Bentley's anxiety) beautifully. We have been struggling to find a regular groomer and I think we finally hit pay dirt. Bentley will definitely be a regular for Santiago. The store it self is great. I really liked their selection of yours and treats. Better and more diverse than other chain pretty stores. All in all, we are very pleased and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Also they fit us in on the same day and were quicker than other groomers we've been to in the past. Please save yourself the heartache, time and money. My husband just picked up our labradoodle and her coat was completely shaved off by the groomer. The discussion between the groomer and my husband was that the few mats she had would be shaved and that it would look patchy because we wanted to keep her the rest of her coat long. Originally, she went in for a trim and to shave the mat under her chin. Instead THEY SHAVED OFF HER ENTIRE COAT DURING THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. Something we never consented to. On top of that it's totally uneven (see photos). She completely hacked off her lashes on one eye. When I spoke to the manager he said our dog was severely matted (she wasn't) and that my husband signed off on a form (always read what you actually sign). Our poor Gemma is acting extremely skittish - a way she's never acted before - and I can only assume it's anxiety from what happened to her. Can't get our money or her hair back (THE MIDDLE OF WINTER!!!), but hopefully can help others from suffering the same fate and heartbreak. read more

I've Been coming here for many years. I'm on my second dog getting non-anesthetic dentals. This is the worst treatment I've ever been given they did not tell me my dog needed shots came in from my dogs dental appointment .They were very rude, said so they left me a message and that because I didn't listen to my messages it was my problem and now they're trying not to give me my deposit back, that I was canceling way too close to the apartment. I said I'm not canceling you're not letting me get an appointment because you failed to let me know My vaccines were expired in your computer when I made the appointment.They finally gave my deposit back after I had to argue for it. So sad that people are getting so rude and don't appreciate their customers. I will never be back. read more

I should have known from some of the other grooming reviews. First off, it says that it may take three hours on the website. When I took him in, the groomer (who didn't seem happy at all) met with me and said it could take four or five hours? I explained to her exactly what I wanted with Archie's haircut. I wanted all of his hair overall to be slightly shorter but I still really wanted him to look scruffy. Three hours later I called to ask if he was almost ready and was told they hadn't started yet! So my poor dog had been shoved into a kennel for three hours?? FIVE HOURS LATER, I got a call that he was ready. I picked him up and not only did she completely cut his hair super short and extremely unevenly (he now has cowlicks for godsakes!) but the worst part is that the idiot also cut his whiskers!?!! All the way down!! What kind of amateur groomer cuts a dogs whiskers? This is absolutely unacceptable! I spoke with a manager a few days later (no manager in that day or the next) who fully refunded me when he saw before and after pics of my dog and was "mortified", but to make things worse, it has been almost five weeks since the fiasco and my poor pup is so disoriented and nervous. He is terrified of stairs now, certain edges of walls freak him out. He can't even go down the hallway in my house!! He starts and then backs out of the hallway!! He is a completely changed dog and I'm going to be extremely upset if he doesn't eventually get back to normal once his whiskers grow back in. To cut a dogs whiskers, is ridiculous. That groomer should be fired. Of course, they refused to tell me her name when I first called the day we got home. I was also told that they're not "allowed to divulge how long she has been working here"?? Don't take your beloved furry family members here. First of all, they have a sign at the front desk that says they will give you 10% off for leaving a 5 star review.. which is a violation of the Federal Trade Commission guidelines. Secondly, the entire place smells like dog urine. I understand that it's a doggy daycare and boarding so that is slightly inevitable but my dog attends another daycare and they don't have that problem. The front desk women are not welcoming whatsoever, especially the white blonde lady who couldn't care less about customers. After looking into the area that they have for daycare and boarding I would not recommend this place. For boarding, the dogs are in kennels with little room and they all seem quite distressed. The daycare dogs stay inside in a little space, especially the small dogs side, and there is an option that they can go outside to the play area and get walked but that is at an extra fee which seems ridiculous to me. This place doesn't seem to genuinely care for dogs and cares more about the money that they bring in. I would suggest going to Wagville. The dogs aren't in kennels overnight and they have the constant option of going inside and outside along with a webcam that you can check anytime from open to close. It may be slightly more expensive but you get what you pay for and I would never leave my dog here at K9-Loft. read more

I usually come here to buy my dog treats. It feels like the workers are always unhappy. Staff is very flat affect. Not only is the staff unwelcoming, but I also noticed the guy who works in the back chasing and spraying the dogs with water for barking and also yelling at them. I'm confused, has management changed? There seems to be something off here lately. My major complaint is that they require FIVE vaccinations for grooming. I understand that we need to keep everyones dog healthy, but this is extreme. I have always kept my vaccinations up to date but I just found out they know require Canine Influenza and Leptospirosis, which each requires two shots over a period of a month. I just needed a haircut and a nail trim, unfortunately, I will just go to another groomer. K9 made it sound like these vaccinations were a mandated requirement for all of LA County, but its not. It's a recommendation. Almost no other groomer I called is expecting these, and after coming on here and reading some of the most recent reviews, I may have to think twice about coming back to K9. Did the rattlesnake avoidance class...first of all the classes were running late, no big deal... but ad i was waiting i could see the lack of interest and professionalism from most of the staff working there. Second the place stinks, glad we were outside. My dog was not really interested by the snake and instinctively cautious, probably cause we ve encountered some hiking... he asked me if i minded having her shocked i said no since that s part of the training... that being said i didn't expect him to shock my dog to the point she jumped 5 feet high and flipped and twisted her back! After that she wanted nothing to do with the place or the snake or anyone duhhhh.. nice way to traumatize her, she even stepped on the poor snake she was so ready to get the hell out if there! Nice 15 minute training for nothing... 15 minutes which cost 140$... the guy was also as friendly and personable as a doormat. Smiling must be an extra cost i guess! read more

I took my dog for a grooming service and was completely dissatisfied with the experience. From start to finish, it was an absolute nightmare. First of all, the staff was extremely unprofessional and seemed disinterested in providing any level of customer service. The grooming itself was even worse. The parts for sanitary trims were not done and the front desk mentioned she'll bring my dog back to the groomer to adjust. I was still in the store and can see my dog in a crate. To make matters worse, 15 minutes later, the girl from the front desk takes my dog out of the crate and hands my dog to me saying it's done. I was there the entire time watching my dog in a crate through the glass window. This place used to be great since I've been coming here since inception but now, the level of dishonesty is second to none. Overall, I would not recommend this dog grooming salon to anyone. k9 loft quoted a price for my dogs bath and cut at $74. When I brought him in for his appointment I was informed that the proper groomer who does scissor cuts was not in and I needed to come back the next day. The salesperson advised that we do the bath and come back for the haircut. I was charged $54 and the balance would be $21 Instead when I arrived for the haircut i was told that it would be an additional $60 i Wouldn't have done the bath an cut if I had told I it would be $120 from the beginning this is double the amount of any other groomer for the same service including healthy spot and bone sweet bone i feel I was mislead K9 Loft would not honor the amount quoted nor refund what I already paid Diahonest business practices in a community doesnt go unnoticed i will dispute the amount already charged and go elsewhere read more

Be wary of K9 Loft (Echo Park)... When I returned home from picking up my pup from K9 Loft, I noticed dried blood on his fur. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that a deep layer of skin was peeling off his right ear and scalp from what appears to be a claw mark. I then rushed him to the emergency room for treatment. When I asked K9 Loft about the injury, they denied responsibility and said none of their employees noticed anything unusual (e.g. a dog scuffle, a slip and fall against something sharp, etc.). This indicates that their employees were not caring for my pup while he was in their care, custody, and control. Either that, or they were not telling the truth for fear of losing their owns jobs. When I mentioned that the least they can do is cover his emergency room fee's and boarding, they referred to the contract stating that they will not be held liable for any injuries sustained during his stay. Contractually, they will be held harmless for any injuries any pet sustains during their stay even if they are at fault. What's more is that they were indifferent when I mentioned bringing attention to the incident on Yelp, social media, and local news. I will not be returning to K9 Loft and advise others to be cautious. I have evidence including photos, videos, and an emergency room invoice on the date I picked up my pup to support this claim. read more

Let me start off by saying I was a regular here. The employees are really nice and it's always been a good experience. One day I got a call about my dog showing teeth to the employees. My dog is not aggressive and if she was I would be the first person to do some thing about it. I spent thousands training her to get along with other dogs. She's passed every temperament test at every daycare with flying colors. So of course this raised a big red flag for me. I called my dog trainer and set up some meetings to see if he could notice any behavioral changes and do a training refresh anyways. I had little to go on so my trainer took her for a couple days and did notice she has anxiety around large male dogs now which was not the case before. Our apartment is dog friendly and that morning she had a fine time playing with the large male pups. I'm not saying it's not possible because no dog is perfect (including mine) but when I asked for more details nobody could give me any. I've emailed and called asking for more information to understand the situation. I even asked for security footage because there are cameras everywhere. If your dog did something aggressive enough to warrant being banned from group play permanently wouldnt you want to know all the details? Crickets. When I picked my dog up that day she was not acting like herself. She was on edge and skittish when usually she's tired and happy after daycare. What happened to my dog there and how come I can't see the footage? It's super rare that my dog shows aggression to anybody and has only ever done that to somebody that tried to break into my apartment. The whole thing is suspicious and I do not trust this place anymore. They've given me very little information so the only conclusion I could come to is there's a cover-up and somebody did something wrong to my dog. Dog owner beware. read more

I left my larger dog there for boarding and I was very disappointed to see that they neglect the animals. We kept a close eye through the live web cam and not once did I see my dog rough housing as they employee stated over the phone. When I arrived to pick up my dog he was very sad and very thin, he also had markings and scars on his body and face. I wonder at this place, does the right hand know what what the left hand is doing? I took my dog in to be groomed this morning and was told that I would get a call 3 or 4 hours later when my dog was ready. I called them about an hour later to make sure they had the correct number to call. Around 12:45 I did receive a call stating my dog was ready, and so I told them that I would probably be 2 to 3 hours getting there, and that I understood the first two hours were free and $6 per hour afterwards for doggie daycare. At 2:45 someone from K9 Loft, saying they were the manager, called my house mate (we're longtime friends and share responsibilities for our dogs) wondering why the dog hadn't been picked up yet, to which my house mate replied, "Because we told you that it would be about 3 hours until we could get there, remember? And why didn't you call the correct number?" We were also informed by him that the dog was not allowed to be in doggy day care because they didn't have a copy of his latest rabies vaccination. However, they had failed to ask me for that when I dropped off my dog...so I assumed it wasn't necessary. Since I have a photo of my dog's rabies certificate, I immediately emailed that to them with the hopes that at least the last hour he could be among the other dogs and play, and not be alone. He gets really upset being alone. But no, when I arrived he was still in a cage, isolated. When I expressed my displeasure at the whole situation, all I got was a half-hearted mumbled sorta-apology. No one seemed to want to take responsibility for it. They didn't even give me a receipt... and I was so mad I walked out forgetting to ask for it. They're getting 2 stars instead of 1 because the groomer did an ok job (it was a bit lop-sided) and the clerk forgot to charge for the extra hour. We've been taking our dogs there for several years but now I wonder if we should keep on going. The whole attitude was lackadaisical, and could have been solved had the staff showed they cared. After a year of taking my dog on a near daily basis to K9 loft I am compelled to write this review. I had always had great experiences with the staff there. However I too have now had the privilege of receiving a phone call from Alex the owner. Wow. I have never encountered someone as unprofessional and rude in the service industry. Backstory: we received a phone call our dog got into a fight in daycare (after a year without ever any incident). Both my wife and I were told this other dog came in aggressively and antagonized all the dogs culminating in the fight. The next day we are told that our dog can't go back to daycare because of the fight and that it was all her fault. I spoke to the regional manager, Valeria, and asked to speak to the person who was handling the dogs and witnessed the incident so we could find out what really happened and work on any behavior issues with our trainer if this was really an unprovoked fight. I was told no problem, she would set it up. Fast forward 4 weeks and still nothing. I've called the store several times and asked to set up this call. I finally get a text from Alex the owner claiming that he left me 2 voicemails (not true). We finally connected this morning by phone. He tells me that his own dog got blacklisted from K9 loft, that he treats all dogs equally. That's all fine - all I care about is finding out what happened in that room in order to know what I need to work on with my dog. He tells me that it's their policy that "low level" employees of the store can't talk to customers. I tell him that I talked to the dog handler on a near weekly basis every time something happened with our dog and never had any problems. This is when things went off the rails. Alex told me "this is not some mom and pop store I run. My partner is an attorney. I used to work at a hedge fund. I know where this is going. This is bullsh$t and I'm gonna call you on it." I was shocked. I genuinely couldn't understand what he was insinuating. I kept asking him what he was accusing me of. He said "you know what I'm talking about. You don't want this information for your trainer." I told him to come right out and say what he was accusing me of. He wouldn't and kept saying I knew what he was talking about. Not only was the cut terrible, but when I got home I discovered that she literally caused my dog to bleed and did not tell me about it. Apparently, they do not screen the dogs coming in, nor do they check if they are doing or felling well, or if vaccinations are complete and up-to-date. Plus, they don't seem to watch the dogs through the day that well, just leave it up to the webcams for you to do it yourself I suppose? I am SUPER HAPPY I found My Baby Pet Grooming! I was worried that I wouldn't find a place that was available at such last minute to get my baby ready for Easter, but I did. I brought her in for a groom and LOVED the way this place treated her. Mario, one of the groomers, was such a kind-hearted soul that treated my baby girl as if she were his own. I was a bit nervous at first about her groom because she's always moving around when I try to do it myself. He made me feel at ease and reassured me that everything would be okay. I loved the fact that she came out with a bandana that matched the Easter holiday. I highly recommend this place and Mario. Give him a chance to groom your fur babies. You won't regret it!! read more
