Ka Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Dallas and one I can never stay away from for long! The ambiance is trendy but casual and prices are very reasonable for uptown ($12-14 on average per entree portioned for one). The food here is always fresh tasting and delicious- not as greasy or sweet as other thai restaurants can be and they are vegetarian friendly. My favorite dishes: -Koa soi- my favorite dish here, a soup noodle dish with an addicting mix of spices and a rich flavor. -Pad Thai- a staple and Ka Thai does it well -Pad Kee Maw- one of the best in Dallas in my opinion -Thai Basil- lots of fresh veggies and basil, not my first choice but still excellent The Lychee Sake Tini tastes like lychee juice (which is a plus in my book) and the Tom Kha Gai soup is good as well. Others tips: Service is great but it does take the kitchen about 20 minutes to prepare the food (the price of freshness). Order an appetizer if you arrive hungry There's plenty of Parking in the garage adjacent to the restaurant If you're ever in the area, don't pass up the chance to experience this gem for yourself! read more

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. The Food: Delicious Thai cuisine, good flavors mostly. We had the Roti Canai to start, good but the vegetables in the curry potatoes and carrots weren't cooked through. The green papaya salad was also good but definitely needed more heat, they asked if medium spicy was okay, but it was basically NO spicy. The green curry however was quite good, had a light spice that built as you are with a good layer of flavors. The Atmosphere: Typical Dallas place, loud. Nothing special but nothing bad. The Service: Quick and polite. I recommend this place if you're new to Thai foods because it's seemingly mild in spiciness, next time I go Ill up the spicy factor a level. Basil fried rice here is great but too sweet. A remedy for this would be to get the sweet sauce on the side instead of mixed in with the dish. I wouldn't recommend the chicken wings. read more

We have ordered from here so many times, dined in a lot before Covid, , but as of lately, Tonya, a not so wonderful server has made me feel super unwelcome. Nice to have this Thai restaurant around. Cozy and comfortable setting. Not crowded at lunchtime. Along with strong signals of Spectrum & TWC WiFi, a good alternative of a meeting place it makes. Friendly was the service though not as attentive as we would have liked. After the initial serving of our drinks, it took us in flagging them down for service. Oh, not pleasant was it to hand us stained menus. As for our lunch, delicious was their "Tom Yum Soup"; very sweet was the curry to their wonderful "Roti Canai"; finding only bits of shrimp in tough skinned "summer rolls"; bland was the "Thai Salad". My family was out exploring Dallas, and we were craving Thai food, luckily we found Ka Thai. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived (before the dinner rush), but very cozy and charming inside. Our servers were wonderful, and everything we ordered turned out to be delicious, authentic and fresh. We had the dtom kah soup with chicken, pat see yu, house fried rice, and chicken sauté with (an especially fragrant) peanut sauce. We ordered everything medium spicy, and it was the perfect kick for us (we like some good heat), as well as some Singha beers to wash it down. We took an order of sticky rice and mango home, and when we ate it later we wished we'd bought a few more...so good! As we were leaving the place began filling up, so get there early. All in all it was better than we expected, and we're happy to have a great Thai restaurant to frequent, whenever we're in the area. We'll definitely be back! read more

I love going to Ka Thai! I love that it is consistently great food. I start with the Ka Thai Sampler which is 3 starters. The summer rolls are so fresh, the peanut sauce complements the rolls perfectly. The steamed Thai dumplings are always a must -- they have the perfect ratio of wrapper and filling. The vinegar soy sauce is my favorite dipping sauce; I always get extra sauce. The crab avocado roll is our third go to sampler item. It's crispy and delicious. For entrees, you can't go wrong with the Pad See Eew or the Pad Kee Maw (Drunken Noodles). I get Pad See Eew if I want something on the sweeter, garlicky side. I love that the drunken noodles are saucy and flavorful. The portions are large; I always look forward to having lunch for the next day. Ka Thai's spice scale is 1 to 5; I usually order a 3 and it's just the right amount of heat for me. It's flavorful but not spicy enough to make me gulp water. Every time I've been it has been consistent with the spice. Keeping the spice level consistent is an underrated skill in my book. I have always had great service while there; the staff is very accommodating and the wait for a table is never long (and it's definitely worth the wait). I try to make reservations if I'm going with a large group. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the space is very clean and modern. I ordered through Yelp on 6/24 to be delivered to my hotel. They driver called to say he was on his way but they did not have the coffee I ordered. When they delivered the meal I asked if the coffee would be taken off the bill and he said yes. The receipt he handed me said $22.73 and only listed the wings and basil stir fry chicken that I ordered. However when I got the charge on my credit card it was $33.68 they didn't remove the coffee. They also didn't include any utensils, napkins etc. The wings were the skinniest I ever saw and not sure if it was suppose to be like that; the basil stir fry chicken was good. I wandered in here on a lazy Sunday while walking around on the street, indecisively deciding on what to eat, my mind fogged up from the activities earlier that weekend. And I stepped inside, I was somewhat surprised at the classier ambience inside this restaurant, and how neat and organized the interior appeared. After being seated I ordered their pad kee maw and was served pretty promptly. The noodles themselves were slightly dry and a bit too stiff, and I wish there had been a little more meat on mine, but overall they were seasoned very well and pretty good. I came to the realization while I was eating that the patrons at my neighboring table were on a date, and likely one of their first (and last) ones together due to their lack of chemistry while discussing random and odd topics. Following this train of thought, I began to identify more couples, or so I assumed, sitting all over the restaurant, and took note of what a great spot this place would be to take someone on a date! The atmosphere is very welcoming for a casual-but-still-classy type of affair. For my fellow vegans & vegetarians- FYI all the soups, curries, stir frys and the udon noodles have fish sauce. Basically their entire menu has some type of seafood (the veggie stir fry has oyster sauce). This is not clearly delineated in their menu. I am upset about it because I called before I put in an ubereats order and was told contrary to this. I am thankful someone called back after they saw our requests. Even the papaya & thai salad have shrimp paste. I think in this day and age, making a more vegan friendly menu would behoove the restaurant. Food had amazing taste and they're considerate of those who cannot handle heat. We had a bit of everything and shared "family style" as a group of 11 we got to try a ton. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken texture, larb tangy freshness, cashew chicken had plenty cashews, chicken satay was perfect, and sticky rice was so perfect for my one year old. The pineapple curry fried rice was heavy on the curry. The pad Thai is definitely unique, so if you're looking for a basic pad Thai that is not it seem like a lot of tamarind. This place is so cute and delicious! I wish it was bigger cause the restaurant was very pleasant to the eyes but it didn't go on for miles. I got this mes-- curry. I can't recall the name but it tasted a bit like what I think panang curry taste like. It was delicious! I love coconut milk in my curry and they definitely had it. My friend got the pad Thai, which was also pretty solid. I don't think pad Thais can be "out of this world" but it was one of the better ones for sure. I usually get pad Thai when I try a restaurant to see how good there food is. If you can't make pad Thai well, you can't make much else. That's my thought process haha. They were pretty new when I went so we could do BYOB, so that was amazing. But I think they'll probably get rid of that :( read more

So, I'm by far one of the biggest Thai Thai fans on this planet earth. Of course I never thought I would find a place that could/would change my mind located so close to my beloved spot. Welp, I did. The food is so flavorful, spiced just right and consistent (hate when 1-4 means different spice levels depending on the day at other spots). I've tried at least one item in each section on the menu (aside from the seafood) and wow. All the feels. I highly recommend this place! A little pricier than my other spot, Thai Thai (which I still continue to go to - gotta support my first love), but so worth it for a cute little date night or treat-yo-self dinner. I was so excited when I saw that a Thai food restaurant was coming to Knox Henderson and had been eager to try Ka Thai ever since. Luckily, it didn't disappoint. It's on a cute side street off Knox where parking shouldn't be a problem. The atmosphere is trendy and the staff very friendly and welcoming. When I try new Thai food, I always get the same dishes so I can easily compare them to other Thai restaurants- pad kee mao and green curry. My husband and I both agree that these dishes at Ka Thai were on point and definitely among the best (if not the best) Thai food we've had in Dallas. We like our food pretty spicy and ordered both dishes medium spice. We usually add red chili's for an additional kick but the green curry was already perfectly spicy that we didn't add anything. The pad kee mao was spectacular and the perfect combination of flavors. It wasn't at all bland or greasy like noodle dishes at other places can be. The service was also great. Overall I definitely didn't peg Knox Henderson to be the home of amazing Thai food, but one meal here proved me wrong. I will be back many times! read more

I was honestly very disappointed by this place after seeing their new location open up nearby on Mckinney on Instagram. I had previously had ordered from Ka Thai before they moved locations and had gotten their chicken wings and yellow curry. I rarely ever eat curry but their yellow curry tasted homemade and had lots of flavor. Their chicken wings were also really delicious and had gotten Buffalo style. I sadly didn't get any utensils and napkins with my first order but it was no huge deal. Since I had a good experience the first time, I decided to order in again from them after their new location opening and was sadly let down. I had reorder the wings and was so excited for them but they were so small and thin! Just bones and barely any meat. I had also decided to try their pad see ew with chicken and the noodles tasted like kitchen sink water to me. The chicken was also not cooked very well and lacked flavor. It was a disappointing dinner to say the least. My order also didn't come with any utensils or napkins either, even though it requested for some on the receipt. I really like a good Tom Ka soup, and they've got it, but everything else I've tried on the menu so far has not disappointed either. Even their TEA is a great, light, refreshing brew (not often you hear a good review on a restaurant's 'tea', right?). Parking can be a bit of a challenge as there's not a lot directly outside the restaurant, but if you feel safe doing so, you could probably park across the street at the HUGE lot for Crate & Barrel.
