Update: Ka Thai has become a staple in my house and my go-to Thai restaurant! I get takeout about every other week at this point. It arrives quickly, still hot, and quality is NOT compromised like it sometimes can be when doing delivery. We actually ordered this in for a girls night / holiday gift exchange (because it's 2020 and we were too lazy to make our own food) ... most of the girls were trying Ka Thai for the first time and everyone LOVED it. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend. He told me this place was near his job and it was really great so I wanted to try it myself. We dined inside since it was hot but other people were eating in their outside area. I can't judge their social distancing protocol since we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was delicious! Probably one of the best thai foods I've had. Their thai tea was spot on, not too sweet and not too bitter. I recommend getting the sampler appetizer to try their different appetizer options. We got the chicken wings, thai dumplings, and the heaven beef (which was recommended to us). I didn't take photos of our entrees since we were too hungry to wait but we ordered the pad thai and beef pad see ew with level 2 spice which had a nice kick. Usually level 2 spice is nothing at other thai restaurants. The atmosphere is beautiful and clean and the workers are so kind and helpful when we asked questions about the food. Came here for HH with a friend and loved the food and service. I got a Butterfly Field and my friend got a Chai Old fashioned (only $6 each during HH). I also got Thai chicken wings and pad kee mow. Butterfly Field was so delicious and pretty: it looks like dusk with light orange color on top that changes to a deep purple hue. The owner (I believe) came to my table and asked me to stir it so the sweet and tangy layers can mix well. The traditional Thai chicken wings were amazing - I wish I had ordered two orders of them. Love Ka Thai - have ordered via UberEats and eaten at the restaurant in-person and the food is consistently good. Our favorite thing on the menu is the steak salad - the citrusy spicy sauce just keeps your mouth salivating through the entire dish. It's incredible. The steak is also served medium rare and is nice and tender. Noodles are all solid (pad thai, drunken noodles, pad see ew), and the khao soi is actually quite delicious. There's a lot of Thai food in Dallas, but not all of it is in the same class that Ka Thai is sitting in. They definitely have one of the best khao soi dishes in the city and some of the nicest staff as well. I've had their food a few times and it is consistently good. You can tell the food is prepared with care because each time it's just as beautiful as it is delicious. The sampler platter is a great way to get acquainted to their fare with your choice of 3 different apps. I have immensely enjoyed their yellow curry, as well, which you can have served with roti as an appetizer. The only thing I have not enjoyed much was their udon tom kha. It needed flavor, soy or salt or something. Once I added salt, it was much better. But that doesn't take away from their khao soi which I have had with very thin egg noodles and some pickled greens. A hard boiled egg is noticeably absent, but they make up for it with the amount of chicken they serve you. A lovely space for a nice lunch or dinner and sure to have good food, too. read more

This is for sure going to become my boyfriend and I's neighborhood date night spot. We came here on a Thursday night and it was empty which we loved because it made for an intimate setting for us. This place does receive a lot of take out orders which we saw during our time here. The prices here are extremely affordable compared to many Thai places we have visited in the past. I'm talking $6 appetizers with really generous portions. We had a sampler appetizer where we picked 3 appetizers for about $12! The dipping sauces were unique variations to what you're used to having with Thai cuisine, but you could tell they were made in house with fresh ingredients. I'm not a sauce person but there were so amazing. The appetizer was enough food for us to decide to share an entree. We got the Pad Kee Maw which was delicious but before that even ordering it mild was still very spicy. Will definitely be here again!! read more

Oh my goodness, this place was always one of my favorite upscale Thai restaurants in Dallas, but I haven't been back in a couple years until just last week. My mind is blown by how they've somehow redone the place to make it even MORE fancy and beautiful! The food is just as good as ever, which is really what counts at the end of the day in my book. Regretfully, I did not take pictures of all the dishes we ate, but they were ALL amazing. We got the drunken noodles, red curry, basil fried rice, and khao soi, all with fried tofu. The service was really quick, too - I want to say it was just 10 minutes between when we placed our order and when the food came out! It was fresh and the portions were great. I appreciate that despite how upscale this restaurant is, the prices are still reasonable and not marked up just because of the location or the aesthetic. My mom and I stumbled into Ka Thai while on the waitlist for a nearby nail salon. I ordered the yellow curry, and it was amazing. It is the best yellow curry I have found here in Dallas. I've been back multiple times since then, always ordering the same curry as I love it so much! My grandmother and boyfriend have tried a few different dishes and agree that the food is great. 3.5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service and ambiance. We were disappointed in the Pad Thai: it was overcooked and mushy, and missing the lime wedge for that squeeze of citrus. My Pad Kee Mow was similarly overdone (the noodles should be more al dente with a chewy texture), but the accompanying veggies were fresh & crisp, and my protein of choice soft tofu was well delivered. The entrees were served on large round plates which give the illusion of large portion size. But our food cooled down quickly due to the large surface area - not conducive to the leisurely dinner that the gorgeous decor called for. read more

This place is authentically delicious and very pretty inside. I feel like it's never easy to find a trendy but authentic place but this is it! They have a pretty big menu and interior is very nice! There is good seating for large groups and a bar area. I've only gone for lunch but imagine it's just as nice for dinner. Wow, could NOT have been more impressed with this place. My best friend and I were in the mood for Asian food and wanted to try somewhere cute and new to us. We stumbled upon Ka Thai on Yelp and decided to give it a try (so thankful we did). There was free parking in the garage next to the restaurant, and there is indoor and patio seating. The restaurant itself is smallish, but very classy and clean with a pretty bar. The service was AMAZING! The waitresses were SO nice and very funny! The food was absolutely delicious and you cannot beat their happy hour deals. I got 2 skinny spiceys (Spivey margaritas) for about $6 I think? You can't beat that...and they were deliciously spicey with a salted cucumber garnish. We started with the rumblings, fresh summer rolls, and Thai chicken wings off the happy hour menu, and all of it was fantastic. The summer rolls were super crisp and fresh (with delicious peanut sauce), the dumplings were SO flavorful, and honestly rather complex for dumplings! Lastly, the chicken wings were SO crispy on the outside and wonderfully moist in the inside, they paired perfectly with the Thai sweet chili sauce they were served with. I think all of the appetizers were between $4-$7 during the happy hour. We finished off with the pad woon sen with chicken, and it was of course delicious! You can't beat their happy hour menu but regardless of pricing (which remains reasonable even without the happy hour pricing) the food and service at Ka Thai will for sure bring me back! read more
