Wow! I truly can't believe how long it took me to try Ka Thai! I did order to-go so cannot speak to an in-person experience, but the place is clearly popular given how many people parked across the street with their hazard lights on in order to do pick up. We ordered the Pad Thai and Tom Kha soup. The pad Thai was great but truly could've used some additional fresh vegetables for added crunch, but that is a person preference. The Tom Kha was pure perfection! It was flavorful with a slight spice kick, delicious vegetables, and the perfect balance of creamy without being over bearing. Ka Thai! This has been the best meal I've had all week. It was Christmas Eve so i did call before hand to be sure they were open, they were very pleasant over the phone. I headed over and the scenery was so refreshing and cute! They have 2 entrances, front entrance and an entrance through the parking garage in the back. The parking garage (paid parking) entrance will lead you directly to the take out window, the front entrance is right off the street. If you enter through the front there will be signs to direct you to the takeout window or wait for a host if you're dining in. As i approached the takeout window i was greeted and asked if i needed a menu. I knew what i wanted but i did need some accommodations since i was vegan. They let me know that they could make anything vegan except any curry since it does have fish oil in it. I got Pad Thai, spice level 2 and pineapple fried rice, spice level 1. They both were above my expectations, so much so that my picky newly vegan 5 year old daughter wanted to try it and made me go back inside to get her some lol. I made my way back in and the host made sure i didn't have an issue with anything i just purchased which was very nice of him and he directed me to the takeout window. I ordered another pad Thai but with nothing at all just noodles. It took a while to modify the order but they had no problem doing it and my daughter loved it! We snuck in about a half hour before closing but the staff certainly made us feel welcome. We sat at the bar as the patio was done seating for the night, ordered a couple cold beers (it was warm out) and started with the fried dumplings. The sauce was delicious and the dumplings were full and had a great flavor. Our main dish was the Thai Basil, their signature dish, with ground chicken and shrimp. I order here all the time and have been for years, but they have messed up the order in the same way twice in the last few orders. On two separate occasions now they have sent noodle dishes via delivery without the flavoring/sauce. We end up literally receiving a container of noodles with veggies protein and oil. It's super frustrating after waiting for delivery bc you have to make an additional order and wait another hour for it to be corrected. When we walked in, we were met with a "classy meets casual" ambiance. The decor is so beautiful inside, and the interior mixes fancy high class with a setting in which you can enjoy a nice date night or small gathering. The food here is quite good, and they excel both at takeout and dine-in. We ordered the yellow curry, the Tom kha soup, and pad Thai. The curry and Tom kha were actually a bit disappointing; I've had more flavorful versions of the dishes elsewhere. They also don't do meats especially well. The chicken and pork looked exactly the same, and only real difference the chef could offer to us when we asked was that the pork was sliced thinner. The flavor palettes were nearly identical. They can also modify the spice level from 1 - 5. I'm fine with spice and a 3 was perfect, while 1 was as spicy as a glass of water. The true star is the Kiew Nham soup, which we ordered for takeout. We also really enjoyed the Pad See Ew. Both incredibly scrumptious with a mixture of sweet and savory. The staff was friendly and attentive. No problems there. All the pricing was affordable too. Not sure when you're reading this, but everything on the menu was about $1 cheaper than the menus posted on Yelp. Nice! Oh, and lastly, don't forget to have your parking validated if you parked in the lot - you pay online first, then scan the QR code your host/hostess gives you after you pay for 2 hours of validated parking. read more

I'm so glad we tried cuz their family-style Thai dishes are one of the bests I've ever had in the United States! The pad see ew was sooo gooos I'd literally give 10 stars on Yelp if there were such option. We had 8 jumbo shrimps in one dish. Literally...shrimps/noodle ratio was 2:1. Incredible. You never get that in NYC/Austin (where I live) I also love eggs and the veggie in it. One thing worth mentioning is the at most of the pad see ew I've had are super oily, but this one doesn't. This is a MUST ORDER for sure. The curry was rlly good too and the portion was very generous. It's just I generally prefer spicy curry and their yellow curry was sweet. I'm very particular with my Thai food, it needs to be the right flavors and not all places are generous on the authentic, Thai spices aside from that, the place is actually beautiful and the service is beyond amazing. The biggest plus, is that you have a huge soccer field of synthetic grass outside that makes it so nice for your kids after going to eat so you don't have to eat and rush home. Highly recommend. Solid Thai place in Uptown. I tried this place on a Saturday night and it was busy. Our wait time for 2 was ~25 minutes. Unsure if this place takes reservations, but if you're going on a weekend night I would at least call ahead. This time around, I also got the Thai basil fried rice w/ a spice level of 2. It was pretty good (i.e. rice not mushy, cooked just right, not super oily as some rice dishes can turn out). I would personally recommend splitting any of the large dishes in two however - my partner and I shared one dish. It's obvious the plates the dishes come in are large and the food is meant to be distributed to smaller plates you're given. After noticing this, I understood why prices seemed a bit high to me (compared to other Thai places). If the weather is okay, the place does do outdoor seating, which is what I did with my partner. It was cold, so they heated up lamps to warm the area. Unfortunately, as the wind picked up it got kind of chilly and I went home with a mildly stuffed nose :/ so think carefully about whether you want outdoor seating if given the option! read more

Called for reservations for a Friday night. When we arrived it was dead inside so I'm guessing most people just come for take out. They validate parking so make sure you scan the QR code in the garage and then scan in the restaurant upon arrival. They have a lot of signs directing you to do this. Our service was great and our waitress was very attentive. We started with the sampler with the spring roll, roti and chicken satay. All were delicious!! For mains we got pad kee maw, yellow curry and cashew stir fry with shrimp all were great! They ask you your spice preference 1-5 which is great. We got 3's which were perfect!
