Hello, I haven't gone out for a few weeks, and I'm really disappointed. I ordered takeout from a lamp shop with Riz. Usually, we get about 5 to 6 pieces of lamp shop and enough Rice, but this time there were only 4 pieces of lamp shop and half a box of rice for $30. I was very disappointed with my experience. After placing my order, I realized that my food was incorrect, so I returned to the counter to try to resolve the issue. Instead of helping me, the employee blamed me for the misunderstanding and was unwilling to correct my order or provide a refund. What disappointed me most was the lack of compassion and willingness to assist with a simple customer service issue. Mistakes can happen, but I believe customers should be treated with respect and given reasonable assistance when trying to resolve an order problem. Tried several Mediterranean spots in downtown, wanted to try a new one. Found Kabob House nearby in Golden Hill. Was skeptical at first, it was empty at 5pm on a weekday. Glad I found this hidden gem! Food is authentic, service size is large. Within 10 minutes, 5 deliveries were picked up to go & another 5 people came to eat. Then the dinner rush. Ambiance is relaxing & seems like this is where all the locals come for Mediterranean food. Most of the people that came to dine in walked here, they didn't pull up in a car. The food is still good, although I don't think it tastes quite as good as it did when the restaurant first opened. I've also noticed that during my last few visits, the music has been unusually loud and seems somewhat random for the atmosphere. At times, it was so loud that I could barely hear the cashier while placing my order. I think lowering the volume would make the dining experience much more enjoyable. I ordered the chicken shawarma salad around 8:30 PM, just wanting a quick, protein-packed meal. When I got home, I weighed the chicken, it came out to about 130 grams, which was great in theory. But as you can see in the photo, I couldn't eat a good 30% of it. The chicken was incredibly dry, chewy, and had a texture like dried skin, completely unappetizing and inedible. The total came out to $20 because I had to pay an extra $1.50 just to get tzatziki dressing. Maybe I'm spoiled, but dressing should be included with a salad. Ordered late night 830pm on 6/4/25. We paid $5 for a variety of extra sauces and once again they didn't give us the sauces we paid for. 2nd times they've done this and screwed up our pick up order, and when we brought it up before they gave no recognition or offer to refund. It's the same girl and guy working the late night shift who clearly doesn't double check to make sure everything is there or pay attention to the orders. Service was good over the phone ordering. Food was done in the time stated and location overall clean but very dim lit. This was most basic and plain tasting kabob i've had and im far from picky when it comes to food. The kabob had zero seasoning and I mean ZERO, I feel I could visit any other kabob shop here in SD after having this and it would be better. read more

Really delicious food and friendly service at this hidden, unassuming family restaurant! I get the beef kabob plate with tabbouleh and hummus- it comes with pita, rice, garlic sauce, and a small spicy sauce. The kabob is juicy with a slight char on the outside. I've also had their Greek salad and it was really good and fresh. There's also a cool mural inside the restaurant.. because why not? I would recommend dining in to really enjoy the food at its best but the only caveat is you might deal with some flies (annoying but mostly harmless). read more

I just happened to drop by the plaza in which Kabob House was located, and of course I always check Yelp to see if there are any hidden gems nearby. I decided to stop by for a bite and ordered a beef schwarma pita plus a beef kebab on the side. The first thing I noticed was how reasonably priced everything was. A pita wrap for less than $8? I think its the only place in SD that hasn't doubled their prices because of inflation. The kebab was also reasonable at less than $4. The food itself was delicious and fresh. The pita was filled to the brim with fresh veggies and they didn't skimp on the meat at all despite it's price. The kebab was also good as well, but the name was a bit misleading as it was kofta rather than beef cubes as I was expecting. But for the price I paid, no complaints from me! I would definitely come back if I was in the neighborhood again. read more

What a wonderful dining experience. Wow, seriously. I got a falafel combo with hummus and babaganoush and a Greek salad plus water. The guys working were super sweet and gracious hosts. I'm leaving this review for the benefit of the locals because we are from out of town. My husband and I were staying at a nearby Air B and B this weekend and I got a hankering for Mediterranean food. We spotted this place tucked away in the corner of a strip mall and pulled in. I ordered a chicken wrap and a side of falafel. Wow! So good! The chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. Adding a few dabs of hot sauce took it the next level. But the main winner was the falafels! Now I am super picky about falafel and I find most places to be disappointing. Usually I end up with something dry, hard, and unappetizing. But these were perfection. Tender on the inside with perfect amount of chew, and that satisfying crispy crunch on the outside. My only disappointment is that we don't live in the area. Because we would definitely go there again. So for those of you who do, don't overlook this hidden gem. read more

Very enjoyable dining experience! My husband and I met for our lunch break (1 hour). We arrived about 15 minutes after opening. The guy working was extremely kind and helpful when answering questions. He advised me to order the combo as it would save me money from ordering the wrap and fries. I appreciate that because some places may want the extra $3. You order at the counter and food is served at your chosen table. We ordered the chicken schwarma in a pita and the gyro wrap with fries. Our food was served hot and the fries were well seasoned. You get sauces in a little cup so I enjoyed dipping my wrap. Also, it didn't take forever to get our food. We were able to eat and enjoy eachothers company without feeling rushed. I would return again and try a salad. Bonus! We were gifted some delicious treats at the end of our meal. Very Very good!! I introduced my parents to Kabob House and my mom got hooked lol. So much so that she wanted to order some food to cater our Mother's Day get together. I placed the order a week in advance and the process was so smooth, I decided to go in for the order as opposed to ordering online since the Greek style chicken wasn't displayed as a catering option. The young lady (so sorry I don't know your name even though you see me REGULARLY) had to call the owner to sort out the specifics for the chicken order, so i had to wait a little bit for that to be sorted, which was completely fine. Once the owner was able to provide us the pricing details I ordered two of the family specials, a medium tray of hummus and tabouleh, 1.5 trays of the Greek style chicken (my moms favorite), and a large green salad. On the day of I called to double check the set pick up time and upon arrival the food was hot and ready. The young lady helped me put the trays in my car and I didn't realize until I got home that they snuck in a complemented dolma which I was eternally grateful for because they were so good! The order was correct, the food was fresh and flavorful and somehow was even better than it typically is. I look forward to using Kabob House for future events because the service and food was so amazing! read more
