This is our Petco Park routine!! ALWAYS!! We've turned so may on to this gem for an amazing pre petco event dinner and a cold beer!! Their food is next level good!!! The side Greek salad and a side of chicken gyro is my personal go to when I'm watching calories, or the Nicks fries when I'm indulging the Nocks fries are the best loaded fries with the gyro meat and all the sauces... oh my!!! Came for the baklava yogurt. As a quality desserts connoisseur here and everywhere I go, this stood out as super unique! The frozen yogurt was tangy and unsweetened and the baklava was warm! And the phyllo was a great texture. Nice and crispy. And the nuts were ground well, no big chunks which I thought was a better fit for the smooth yogurt. And the honey had a nice distinct floral element. A light and balanced dessert that really calls you to slow down and enjoy all the subtleties and variations of temperature, texture, and flavors! When the food arrived, it looked amazing and I was excited to dig in, unfortunately, my first bite is where the excitement ended. The falafel was terribly dry, so dry that if I picked one up and squeezed it in my hand, it would've crumbled into dust. The rest of the bowl was edible, not good or bad, just average. I visited Nick the Greek on a Saturday evening. There were a few other customers when we arrived, & the employees were finishing up a few tickets, so we had to wait a few minutes to place our orders. I ordered the gyro bowl, while my friend got the beef gyro. Our food came out fairly quickly, which we were both grateful for since we were very hungry. This is the best place to get beers before a Padres game! They're located two doors down from the gates at Gallagher Square. They have three or four beers on tap, and they charge $5.99 ALL DAY LONG! They have TVs inside to keep up on sports while you're waiting for the Padres to start. Being downtown they obviously don't have a parking lot, but that's normal. We came here last night after watching the Savannah Banana game. The kids were a little hungry and we wanted to wait for traffic to die down. The workers working this shift did an amazing job. We came close to closing time, but we didn't feel rushed to leave or anything. We enjoyed and shared a gyro plate and souvlaki plate, having chicken as our protein for both meals. And I ordered baklava. From what I tasted, the chicken was so tender and flavorful and the tzatziki sauce was delicious. My husband and kids enjoyed their meal and there were no leftovers, except one of the salads that came with the meal. (I had the salad the next day for lunch and the lettuce was still crispy and very flavorful). The baklava was so flaky, and not too sweet to my taste. I would definitely order everything we had again and try other items. Thank you Nick The Greek restaurant for delicious food and for not showing any signs of impatience or frustration as we and other patrons came close to closing time. Awesome customer service! When I was ordering, I asked the young man taking my order if they were closing, and he reassured me we still had time and they wouldn't kick us out.
