The food was great, the drinks were good ( a bit strong), I had the mango martini. There was great service, great prices, parking is good. I went during happy hour, and they had good choices! The ambiance was good, the crowd was light for it to have been happy hour however I enjoyed it. It's pretty inside as well. It's a good date night option as well!

Went with a group of 8 for dinner(you will not be seated unless the whole party is there). We went because the reviews battles with Kobe. It's cheaper and at the time closer to where we were. The sushi rolls were soo good I recommend the Birds nest and Baltimore roll they were nice to share with the group. I do prefer this places steak over the others it was still tender the next day. I don't like that they used spaghetti noodles. The portions are smaller compared to Kobe but I do love that they don't cramp everyone into one room. There's room to move around and view the restaurant and enjoy the time. I might come back just to try some more if I'm ever in the area

My family loves this hibachi place! The food is always well prepared and full of flavor. They also have great sushi! We love the Maryland Roll and they also have a great drink menu. The service can be a little slow on a busy nice but all of the employees are very nice and helpful! The chefs are also always very engaged and friendly. Additionally the restaurant has a very chill vibe!

Photo taken early March 2020. Before Covid-19 shut everything down. Steak and shrimp habachi combo. Delicious!

Kabuto has not failed me YET!!! I went to treat myself for dinner and could not figure out where to go. I wanted something hot and delicious. Something sizzling. Something savory. Then Kabuto popped into my mind. The last time I came here was right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit hard (early March 2020). I sat at the bar and had the most delicious meal! Steak and shrimp hibachi combo. It came with soup, salad, fried rice and yummy noodles. The steak was seasoned to perfection and their shrimp are plump and sooo good! I got the exact same thing for dinner yesterday evening (August 8th, 2020). With our state continuously allowing and disallowing sit-in dining, I wasn't sure how everything would go. I made the drive to the restaurant. There weren't many cars in the parking lot, so I assumed that it wasn't a busy day & that I would have a quiet dinner at the bar. I was WRONG! Lol! The restaurant was carry-out only. They only allowed two customers in at a time. When I made my way inside, I was greeted by a huge blocked off wall at the entrance of the dining area. There were signs on the clear barriers that read "phone orders only". I walked back out to my car and made the call. The transaction was quick and friendly. I already knew exactly what I wanted- the steak (well done) and shrimp hibachi combo. Now, I had a not so awesome experience from another Japanese steak house on my birthday. The protein seriously was lacking and they did NOT include salad or soup! That meal was close to $40, whereas this meal was $25 and change. HUGE difference with WAY BETTER quality. When I got home, I set everything up and went to town. I didn't eat my soup, but everything else, I demolished. The steak and shrimp were delicious. The steak was medium well, which didn't bother me too much. I prefer the crisp of well done steak, but it was still really good. The shrimp were just as perfect as ever. The rice and noodles were well seasoned and the salad was fresh. Everything was so good, I honestly will probably come back again for dinner tonight. I'll just make sure to call ahead this time! 5 stars.

Not a bad place, but the chicken teriyaki was just kinda ok. My unagi was pretty good, I'd say. The noise level was high, as to be expected, and their menu had a lot of photos of things they don't actually have on the menu any longer, but looked good. Service was ok. But the waiter kept walking by while we were trying to get his attention for a few minutes. Price was a bit higher than I'd have liked for the whole experience. There are definitely better, similar places out there.

    Ask the Community - Kabuto

    Is it reservation only?

Nope! Safe to walk in! However, if you plan to eat there on a weekend evening, it can pretty busy. A reservation would be recommended, especially if wanting hibachi.

Do they do any birthday specials?

    No.

How many people can one hibachi grill fit?

We were able to fit 10, with room to spare. I'd guess 15-20.

    What time is happy hour?

In need of a new restaurant for happy hour with a friend, I stumbled upon Charlys Waterfront. Upon arrival I immediately felt like I was transported to restaurant on the beach. A nice outside area and bar for lounging late into the summer nights, mini golf for the kiddies, and good drinks and food. Our bartender was great and very attentative, given it was her first night behind the bar. And the crushes were quite tasty. The menu had a decent amount of seafood items given we were dining on the water. And the star of the night were the nachos. The chips seems to be house fried and the cheese sauce was divine. Now that I've discovered this hidden gem on the water I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit to Charlys Waterfront and an opportunity to relax near the water with a grapefruit crush in hand.

Waited over 20 mins for after we sat for someone to acknowledge us. We ordered cocktails and water, took a while for the cocktails, no water came. Then we put in apps and our entrees. First the entrees came, then the appetizer and they said they ran out of plates so we couldn't really share stuff easily. Food was ok to good. Overall, the vibe is fun as it's all outdoors but hopefully these were just growing pains early in the season. I'd still consider returning but not if I was in a rush!

Made my reservation for party of one at By the Docks When I arrived. I was greeted quickly (bless her) and explained I was a little late. (Well that's actually what I did.) and when I said that's actually what I did. The hostess looked at me and said "well you don't count" smiled and then she then sat me. My server, Leslie greeted me. I ordered my food (crab and lobster egg rolls), and a glass of the house white wine (a yummy Pinot Grigio) to pair perfectly with my seafood egg rolls. The interior was bright and open with bronze and wood accents The wine came out about five minutes later and then I proceeded to wait for roughly 30 minutes for the appetizer that was meant to be my entrée to come out. the appetizer came out hot and fresh, chock full of lump crab and lobster laying on a bed of the Asian slaw.. shoo mercy, everything tasted great, but by then my wine was empty. My friend that brought me here kept telling…read moreme about the delicious bread rolls with the whipped cinnamon butter the restaurant chain is known for, both of which were endless? I was very excited to try the restaurant out. Upon being sat at the table and trying out the bread rolls, I agreed that they were very delicious. We soon ate all 4 of them, which was all we got for the whole night despite numerous requests for refills. Are they really endless? I don't know. It was a busy Friday night, and it seemed like our server was trying her best, she tended to us when she could, but it seemed like she had a lot of tables sat around the same time. The menu I looked through was filthy and crusted with bits of old food. I figured maybe it was a miss due to it being so busy. When we were done with our bread rolls, a busser walked by to grab the bread roll tray, and we asked if he could get us more bread. He said yes but never came back with more bread. We saw him bussing tables near us throughout the night. Maybe he wasn't allowed to handle bread rolls? I also saw tables around us with bags of peanuts and bread rolls. We were not offered any peanuts by the hostess. I ordered the 16oz Prime Rib with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans, Gravy on the side. When our food arrived, a female server running the food had set up a stand on the side of our table with the food on a big tray. She literally threw my plate at me and the au jus sauce spilled all over the plate and onto the table. She didn't acknowledge that anything abnormal happened. This was very weird and abnormal to me. No where have I ever dined before do they serve food like this. I found it very unpleasant and worrying as it seemed completely normal to her like she threw everyone's plate of food at them? Yall should check up on this because it's poor customer service if everyone that dines here gets food throw at them. Unless that's something that's practiced regularly at this restaurant? Which is very odd and peculiar. If she wasn't able to carry all the heavy plates and needed help, she should've asked for help from her coworkers. I tried to make the best of this entree being thrown at me. Our server did try her best to refill our drinks and check up on us. We asked another male server wearing a hat who waited on tables nearby if we could have a refill of bread. He also said yes and never came back with any bread. At this point I don't think the bread is endless, nor refillable. I did see him give excellent customer service to other tables around us numerous times, such as bring them fresh bread roll trays, refill their drinks and bring them to go containers with bags for leftovers. I was very disappointed as I was told by numerous people that Texas Roadhouse is known for endless bread rolls... It seems we got about 4 bread rolls all night and that was it. I'll be sure to update everyone I know of the new policy changes with the bread rolls here. That's important information if they're expecting refills. When we were done with our food, we waited a ridiculously long amount of time to get the check and an even longer amount of time to get to go containers and bags for our leftovers. We watched as tables around us cleared out. They got their checks and to go containers with bags before us. Throughout this whole time, a good 5 to 7 servers took time to congregated around the service station to talk loudly about personal business. Both my friend and I tried to get their eye contact so we could pay our tab and leave. With no luck. We literally made eye contact with them, and they just ignored us. At that point, I intended to just walk up to them and ask where the to go containers and bags were stored because I was willing to go get them myself. I was tired of waiting for no help. We wanted to leave. We waited even a longer amount of time. And saw our original server, so we asked for to go boxes. And finally, another female server gave us to go boxes. No bags. No containers for sauces. While everyone else around us got those altogether. I finally walked up to the group of chit chatty congregated servers and asked if we could get to go cups for sauces and bags. Another female server in a jacket stuttered yes and walked away from me. I never saw her again either. Then our server came back, and we asked her for bags. The whole dining experience was mediocre at best and horrible at worst. I don't think I'd be willing to dine here again in a long time unfortunately. There are a lot of problems going on that were totally avoidable. What a not great first impression.
