Ordered two drinks at the airport via the kiosk for this restaurant. After 20 mins a waitress came and told me they were out of the drink i ordered. I asked which one and she didnt know. She left and came back with one coors lights after another 15 mins. I asked if i can just get a refund for the 45 dollars i spent. Her manager was with her and said that i would get a refund. I had a decent experience here on a long layover getting home. Nice selection of Ramen, wine, and some appetizers , salads and sushi that looked decent. I'm the context of dining at your favorite ramen place at home (which is an amazing one), this is in the airport. Again, the airport, where just getting employees through drug screens and background checks I must be a total nightmare. Enough of that rant. Listen, if you're looking for a Super open space to layout your laptop, iPad, and your carry on and not get elbowed by the person next you, and oh, decent food and wine, this is your place. One more thing is out wine selection, it's good but it's on the pricy side. Update! After being here around an hour, the noise level is pretty high from the high Two story domes ceiling, chatter from people and kids, etc. Not a negative necessarily, but if you need a quiet oasis, this place is not that. Wow. (In a bad way.) When food is overly expensive and the quality is poor, it makes me pretty upset. With that said, I will usually grumble to myself and then man up and just deal with it. The ramen here is not just terrible, but aggressively bad. Whoever made my ramen must really just hate their life and it shows in the food quality. The person who made it is clearly working there because it's an airport job, and not because they give a care about food (or people, for that matter). I got the spicy mushroom ramen and husband got the chicken ramen. There are so many things wrong with both dishes, but ultimately, I was STARVING when I sat down, and couldn't choke down more than 2-3 bites. I left hungry, and sick to my stomach. The waiter was very gracious. In fact, he was actually super nice. So I feel bad to have had this terrible food experience in front of him because clearly he had nothing to do with the food prep (when referring to what the restaurant had on the menu, he referred to it as "they", which indicates to me that the food is actually not made at that particular restaurant, but some airport kitchen that probably does the food for most of the airport.) But upon seeing me not eat my food, he offered a refund saying "don't worry, this happens often". I don't know how to end this review other than I'm offended by the food here. read more

Kaedama is an awesome place to grab a bite in Terminal C at Newark! I was traveling alone and it was a nice open spot to get a bowl of ramen. The restaurant concept is really cool -- you scan your boarding pass and it keeps you posted on your flight details, and then you proceed to order your meal all off the iPad. You can even use your United MileagePlus points to pay for your order. Onto the food, I ordered the Vegan Soy Miso Ramen. The noodles were buckwheat soba, and if you're a fan of beets and other fresh veggies, you'll be really happy with this order! I spent my entire weekend eating my way through NYC so I wasn't looking for something too heavy before getting on my flight. I did leave full and satisfied though! Was giving a luke warm bowl mising all the pork. Absolutely no taste. I a very sertan that they pre make the meals and heat them up in a microwave. Horrible service , after I informed the lady that there was no pork in the ramen. She brought me a bowl of the missing pork, the utter lack of compassion for the job or the client. Really great ramen. The pork shoyu was tender and flavorful, and the broth was not too salty so you got a good umami flavor. The tonkotsu was rich and had good depth of flavor. Very accommodating to special request ( no seaweed) and quick service. A top choice for Terminal C. read more

I think pretty much the only reason why people eat or drink at airport bar/restaurants is because they don't really have a choice due to delays. As such, I think these airport places know that they can charge us more for whatever it is that we want. We are quite literally stuck with them... A stiff drink for $18. I just made it a double for $6 more to get it closer to regular price level. Since I was delayed, had plenty of time to polish that off anyway... Was craving a noodle soup during my layover, so stopped at this ramen noodle joint inside Newark airport. Ordered a pulled pork tonkotsu ramen using a very dirty iPad (like it had been splashed with ramen broth many times). The food came quickly, and the server was friendly enough. I know it's an airport and prices are going to be "sky high". But $16 for a small bowl of ramen is pushing it. Give me a full bowl and I would be happier. The pork broth was fine. The noodles were chewy. I'd like them a little more cooked but they were good. Just not enough of them. I think the fish cake is a mistake to add. It doesn't fit with the broth. And they are very fishy giving the broth a backend of fish flavor. Not good. The egg was fine. If this were a local place and it cost $8 for a small bowl, maybe I'd go back. I had the "Today's Ramen", which was with mushrooms, egg, and Chinese sausage. First, I am accustomed to being served my ramen literally steaming hot, and this was not. Next so noticeable was the ramen noodle itself. It was not the typical slightly yellow slightly curly slightly spongy noodle I am accustomed to either, so are there other varieties of ramen noodle? This was beige and more gummy than chewy and straight noodles. I do question that, as given by our server the choice of a Chinese ceramic spoon or a silver teaspoon because he only had two spoons. I actually enjoy in-person experiences better, but for those who don't, everything can be done at your fingertips. I ordered the pork tonkotsu ramen and I was incredibly excited to try it. My order came out within 8 minutes. It was served in a fancy serving dish and I was excited. Unfortunately, my first bite took all that excitement away. It was bland. The pork was dry. I'm extremely happy I stumbled upon this Place during my layover. Not only was the food amazing, but they had a ton of vegan options which was great for me. I ordered the vegan Ramen, vegan vegetable sushi, and seaweed salad. Also my server, Lou was one of the most amazing people as he was extremely nice, a great conversationalist, and he went out of his way several times to answer my questions and accommodate me. So happy to have found this gem in Terminal C at the Newark airport. After a cancellation the night before and further delays due to weather, we settled in and had a great bowl of ramen (the pork tonkotsu) and edamames. Keiry, our excellent server, made sure my daughter's severe allergy would be accommodated (unlike at the dumpling purse place). It's in a bright and sunny area which helps the vibe. They also have a great bar and music to make any prolonged stays much more bearable. read more

One and a half stars. Came here for vegetarian options before a flight to LA. I ordered a drink and a salad and a bowl of ramen--mushroom,l. I'd love to tell you what I had, but before I could take a bite of the ramen, the bartender came around and hit the close check button on my iPad. I'm guessing he gets stuffed on tips all the time, but I'm killing two hours here and might have wanted another drink. I'm not going to get it now because I'm annoyed and because I'm on a company charge card and don't want to have to process another receipt for this place. So, although I don't know, and although the receipt will eventually show up in my work email--I hope--for now, I'm pretty sure these three things set me back about $40. The salad was okay. $12 for a bunch of spring mix, some shredded carrots, a few shaved radishes and red onions with mediocre bottled dressing that was not particularly Asian tasting in any way. Then the ramen--like warm and totally overpowered by the giant piece of seaweed they put on the top. The noodles were also still sort of preformed--like no one took the time to stir them just a little so I could pretend I wasn't back in college. There are better places at the airport. First the good: The pork ramen is good, especially for airport ramen, the steam buns we're pretty decent and the chicken wings were actually quite delicious. The bad:. The service here is atrocious and perhaps it's because of United's ingenious idea of making everyone use iPads to order which in turn makes it so that the servers have literally no incentive to perform well. I'm convinced the request server buttons on the iPads are there for show, they never seemed to make much difference whether pressed or not. When asked for a boiled egg on the side, after several attempts and maybe 20 minutes later, my wife was given a cold boiled egg from the salad bar, you can't make this up. The dude literally goes over to the salad bar and grabs a boiled egg and puts it in one of the dressing containers. Wat. Icing on the cake was when I asked for a togo container for the ramen, ramen is soup... I was given a literal box. That's not gonna work guys. Eventually I got a actual plastic container for said soup and was packing it up when another server comes over and grabs the bowl out from on front of me and walks away. Didn't even bother to ask if was done or what I was doing... Nope, just grabbed it and walked away. So I got to chase him down and ask for it back so I could pack it up. I have no words. read more
