We loved our lunch here. The food was good. Our service was leisurely. I had the blackened grouper tacos, messy but good. They are served with house made chips, which are quite good. We chose carrot cake for dessert - the presentation was lovely, a Carmel drizzle and a scoop of ice cream, but the taste was average (decent carrot cake average). My husband chose a blue cheese burger and said it was excellent. House made blue cheese and seasoned to perfection. The interior is very cool and well decorated. Even the restrooms match the theme. My friends said the meatballs were tasty. Food not really worth the price. The NY strip was, well, we couldn't identify it as meat. More like a gray thing, and it was medium rare. We were actually discussing afterwards if it might have been that fake meat stuff. Seriously, that was our conversation. Generally, food not really very good. Service was great though. The food was amazing. We began with the Fried Green Tomatoes Napoleon and it was perhaps one of the best things I've ever tasted; literally a symphony of sweet, sour, and umami flavors. We had a reservation for 7 this past Saturday and were seated upon arrival. Our server was incredibly sweet, friendly and attentive. I wish I remembered her name! She answered all our menu questions. The food was delicious. Everyone loved what they ordered. I specifically had the beef stroganoff and it was perfectly seasoned and the sauce was delicious. My husband had the country fried steak and I'm not one for fried food but I loved it too lol. My dad's mushrooms that came with his steak were VERY salty but eaten with the steak and mashed potatoes, it wasn't bad. I would definitely drive up for a family dinner here again. We live in Wesley chapel and it was worth the drive. To add, I love the way the interior is decorated. It's very quirky. The tables are separated by glass doors which makes it feel more intimate and less like you're sitting with the strangers around you. My friend and I ate here for my birthday lunch today. We started with the salmon fish dip. It was an unusual color, due to paprika seasoning. It was absolutely Devine! Much better than regular fish dips. It came with two kinds of crackers, both equally delicious. For our main courses, we both had salads, she had the Ahi tuna salad, I had the Black and Blue salad with steak. I asked for ranch dressing on the side. The server brought both ranch and the lemon vinaigrette that came with it, on the side. Both were delicious. I've got to say, though, the ranch was the best I've ever had! Yum! Most recently 2 couples met and had delicious dinners and the fried green tomatoes app. The beef bib and bleu salad was a hit with 2 of us (I was a bit envious when I saw it come out). The other two meals were fish, I had the grouper taco and it was tasty! The last person had the salmon over quinoa and cleaned their plate as well. The decor is fun, makes your experience cozy and homey, and I like the variety of seating options. This time we were in a booth that felt like we could have a private party inside. Fun Folksy style decorated kinda upscale restaurant? The decor was dusty, rusty, and eclectic. Think longhorn mixed with a cracker barrel. The meatballs on ricotta- These were a fantastic starter, especially when paired with the bread given with herb butter. The meatballs were well cooked, still moist, and packed full of flavor. The marinara and ricotta were also both well seasoned. Asian Mayo Shrimp- These were crispy at first but quickly got soggy as they cooled. The shrimp inside were overcooked and rubbery. The sauce they are tossed in was delicious. Ribeye- The ribeye was a sloppy thin cut steak that was slightly overcooked and chock full of gristle and tough fats. It was juicy, however, it didn't seem well-seasoned if at all. The garlic potatoes were "skin on" and delicious, however a little runny. The grilled asparagus was extremely soggy and chewy, I chose to not even bother eating them. The service was good, the entire was loud and lively. We just finished a Savage Race, and wanted to try someplace different. We were very pleased with this restaurant. Right in downtown Dade City, and less than 10 minutes from the race. Would be a very cool date place, a lot of seating, that has privacy, very eclectic. Service was excellent! The short rib nachos were absolutely out of this world. They actually do them on their homemade chips, and with homemade beer cheese. It was absolutely my favorite item we had. I had the grouper tacos blackened. They were very tasty, I could use some more grouper, but still they were a good size taco. I probably should've tried the sweet potato fries, but I had a Caesar salad on the side. The Caesar salad was as to be expected. Their Reuben is definitely done differently. my buddy liked it, but I think he was used to something stacked a little taller... and they put an egg on it. I took a bite. I'm a fan. I can get in on having egg on the sandwich. My other buddy got the Brunch Burger. I did not try this because he orders everything well done. However, it comes on a bed of breakfast potatoes plus caramelized onions and however you would like your eggs ... in this case he got them scrambled, which would not be my choice, but that was his meal. Overall very impressed with this establishment, and we will probably be back with the next race. Kate Kokopelli is one of my favorite places in Dade City! The city itself is so charming. The menu is so fun. So many different types of dishes there is truly something for everyone! I've always had great service on every visit which makes me want to come back time and time again. On our last visit my husband got the beef stroganoff. It was delicious! It's not an item I've typically seen on a menu, but it's such a delicious comfort food he was excited to order it. It did not disappoint, it was flavorful and there were no leftovers. I went with the stuffed meatloaf. I had been eyeing it on my previous visits and I'm so glad I finally ordered it. It was packed full of flavor! The gravy over top was a great add to the dish! I still think yelp should have 1/2 starts. This place is a solid 3.5. This was our second time here. I had the NY Strip medium rare. It was cooked perfect to temperature but could have been grilled a little more to add grill flavor, it was a bit bland. I had to add more salt than I wanted to. Mushrooms were tasty and mashed potatoes were good. My wife's asparagus was undercooked and stringy. The beer was a bit warmer than what I usually enjoy. As you can see, it was a mixed food and beverage experience but this is in no way completely negative review. The atmosphere and decor is very interesting and enjoyable. A combination of a country home and a hunting lodge with a bit of humor at every corner. Very entertaining. The best part of our visit was our server. Unfortunately I did not get his name but he was one of the better servers we have had in a long time. He's the reason I will be back to give it another chance. read more

We have been coming here for 3 years, and I have to be honest, the quality of the food is less than it used to be, the service is hit or miss. Menu says garlic mashed potatoes and it actually comes with potatoes wedges. Menu says green beans but asparagus shows up. Portions are getting smaller. Came to celebrate my dad's 90th bday, he ordered medium rare prime rib, it was raw. Wasn't always like this. Coffee is always good (slow and lukewarm, but good). From their food to their atmosphere to their drinks.. they're all on point for me. I've never had a server that I didn't appreciate either. That being said.. The Citrus Room We went for a date night out to Kafe Kokopelli's citrus room and I was genuinely very impressed. All the dishes were fresh and tasty, the food all came out perfectly and we had a wonderful meal. For an appetizer we had the carpaccio, it was good just under seasoned. Entrees all come with salad, a baked potato and dessert. My husband and I split their special steak cut which was a 20oz porterhouse. The Parmesan vinaigrette they served with my salad I would've eaten with just a spoon. It was that good. My husband loves ranch and theirs looked to be made in house was also delicious. Baked potatoes come out steaming hot and sliced open with accoutrements on the side including beer cheese, green onions, bacon, and sour cream. Beer cheese was also a personal favorite. For shareable sides we had the Brussel sprouts, ginger carrots, and sautéed mushrooms. Ginger carrots were surprisingly one of my favorite things about entrees. Dessert was our choice of six desserts. I had their citrus bread pudding with cinnamon whipped cream and my husband had their chocolate peanut butter explosion. Yum. Our server Meg, was wonderful. So knowledgeable and kind. Very intent on making sure her we had a great experience. (We did.) Steve also approached our table to check on everything and introduce himself. Overall it was a great evening. Ambiance is quiet. I'd say it's a good place for a date night or a small get together but definitely not somewhere I would personally bring my children. Went for my birthday on Thursday. Not the first time going here. Made reservations, we were seated fast. Waitress finally came over after about 10-15 minutes and took our drink order. At that same time asked if we were ready to order dinner so we did. Waitress kept setting down items, without saying anything and turning away before we could ask her for anything. Felt very rushed, very ignored, and not wanting us to be there. My food was great, but my husband ordered the prime ribbon which was $38.00 and there was more fat than meat. Waitress never asked if there was a problem when she picked up the plate of fat just quickly turned and walked away. Fun restaurant we stopped into looking for a local place between Tampa and The Villages. Super lively singer in the bar. Said they have music several nights a week. Seems like the whole town was there! Probably most happening place in Dade City. Food was comfort food plus steaks and done seafood. All enjoyed our meal. The almond crusted brie was great, it was served with *warm* crackers and a house made blackberry compote. Perfect temp, soo melty but not oozing out. Our server brought the app with two wedges (pictured) and noted they would be bringing a third out since they were smaller sized than usual -we had already let her know this was our first time so we wouldn't have known the difference, it was much appreciated! I ordered the salmon medium-but our server let me know the kitchen couldn't cook to that temp and it would be closer to well-done so I opted for a couple of appetizers instead. My sister's chicken Marsala had lots of chicken and mushrooms but the sauce was lacking flavor and had the consistency of water. I asked for a side of thicker sauce to throw on and OMG that had such incredible flavor! The Marsala we want to return for and are hoping that they just hadn't strained the pasta well enough this time.. The fried green tomato stack is a smaller portion, really an appetizer for one but SO GOOD. I didn't think I'd care much for the B&B pickles or marmalade with it but mind blowing combo. The tuna appetizer was half the size of the pics I saw on yelp and should have been a much better grade, it was pretty mushy and I would definitely skip that one again. The goat cheese cheesecake and bailey's bread pudding had us fighting over bites because they were both amazing even though we were bursting at seams. Dade City is a halfway point to meet my sister. It appears that the downtown closes down on Sunday's so this was one our only options and boy am I glad we went! There were too many excellent options on the menu and on the weekends they also do a brunch menu. We opted for the chicken and waffles, short rib tacos, and the Rueben sandwich. All options were very great. They also have an extensive dessert menu. We got the bananas foster which is made tableside and we also got the bread pudding which was really good.
