I ordered the orange martini and asked if it was sweet - server said no... it came a couple mins later not full and extremely sweet. I asked her to pls fill the martini glass and use vodka to cut the sweet. Came back as palatable, albeit still sweet. Lunch came and the gumbo was excellent! Wife's shrimp po boy was on a bun, not a roll as expected, and was meh... lacked flavor. Still acceptable and came with an order of fries that was great. When the bill came I noticed the martini (14$) was on the bill as expected, but also had an addl 8$ for an extra shot. I asked what this was for and she said she added more Tito's, so I was charged. So now we have one full Tito's martini (still over sweet) for 22$. Wish I would have just returned the shitty drink and ordered a beer. When no bartender at place and servers need to make drinks this shit happens. Dumb move as we'll not ever go back. Lesson learned. Food is good, but stick with beer in this place.

And I was so excited about this experience. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted. So nice and welcoming. The place is not big. Perfect setting and great ambiance. There is a nice size bar area and they had the hockey game on. Go Bolts!! We were seated in a booth. Our server Jason came right over with water. He had a new server Bri that he was training. She was really sweet and helpful. We placed a drink order. I had the Strawberry Basil Martini. My first martini ever and it was awesome. I will definitely get it again. For my entree I got the Shrimp Scampi. And my husband got the Smash Burger with fries. Let's start with him.... He cleaned his plate. He loved it. I enjoyed my meal as well. I have leftovers. Can't wait to finish it off. We did enjoy desert. The salted caramel cheesecake. Yall let me tell you it was Amazing. So rich and tasty. Yum!! We had a great time. Our servers Jason and Bri were wonderful. Looking forward to going back and trying the Pizza.

They had football on the TVs but we were seated far from it. The menu is very extensive. They have a big drinks menu but unfortunately they didn't had great mocktail options. We had cross creek salad to start and they weee able to split it so we each for a small plate. I had crabcakes entry and husband had swordfish, both dishes were amazing. We were surprised at high quality and superior execution of the meal. Love it! We will definitely be back!

Sitting here, the atmosphere is fun, they have a stage so bands play here. None playing as we were here in the middle of the day. They have several bird cages with macaws or cockatoo birds. Quite odd, but cool. The waitress was fun. She was lively and cracked some jokes and was quite pleasant. We ordered the Fried haddock sandwich which was excellent! Also, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich was quite enjoyable! Fries were good. It was Monday so somebody in the group had all you can eat shrimp fried, which she liked. Service was spot on. Not too much but just enough. I really liked this restaurant. Parking is strange, because its on a small side road attached to the main drag yet people come in the lot from all directions and there's no flow to the parking lot, but thats minor. Place is well worth a stop. Prices are reasonable and the foods good. A small town diner that's worth your time!

The appearance is a little "divey" but I think thats on purpose and it certainly doesn't diminish the experience. They have a decent cocktail menu- we all had different ones and all were delicious. Server obviously had been working there a long time. She was very helpful with suggestions and details. We all got some raw oysters (except my wife who hates oysters) and they were very good. They weren't very big but were tasty. We also had a fish sandwich which was very good. No complaints from anyone. Cool laid back place to relax. They apparently have live music sometimes but not while we were there.

Honestly, I wasn't even mad about the change of plans! One of the best parts of the experience is the atmosphere, my dad and I especially love coming here for the peanuts. Of course, you also can't go wrong with their iconic bread rolls and cinnamon butter; they are easily a highlight of the visit. For drinks, my mom and I both tried the margaritas; I highly recommend the Mango Margarita, and the Jamaican Cowboy Margarita was equally delicious and refreshing. For my main course, I ordered the Country Fried Chicken, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. A huge shoutout to our server, Destini, who was incredibly sweet and attentive throughout the night. She really made the experience seamless. Overall, it was a fantastic meal with great vibes--we'll definitely be back!

It's cafeteria style with pricing by the number of "mains" and sides you choose. We both selected fried chicken and it crispy, seasoned just right and juicy. The sides were plentiful. In March of 2022, my wife and I moved to Dade City. We love southern soul food and were delighted…read moreto come across Steph's. The staff was wonderful and the food was great. It's a black owned business, with a predominately brown staff, and a lot of white patrons. This becomes relevant later in the review. For a while, we were regulars and always got along with everyone in the restaurant. My wife swore they had the best fried chicken in town! As a retired Army War Veteran, I often wear patriotic t-shirts. I have a few t's that display my support for the US Flag and the Veterans who died to defend Her. One day, this did not seem to sit well with the black management; as the Colin Kaepernick incident was still fresh in the minds of most black Americans. The black gentleman who manages the restaurant wasn't his usual jovial self after he saw my t-shirt. After a few visits, I felt a bit unwelcomed only by the black staff. No one else changed. The Black Eyed Pea became my new top restaurant for southern food, but my wife still loved Steph's. So, we continued to go there occasionally, but not as often. After a while, the manager seemed to have returned to his old self and was friendly and joking with us again. After Steph's temporarily closed to give the staff a well-deserved vacation, we started to return as regular customers again. Unfortunately, while eating a bowl of collard greens, a piece of the metal mesh they used to strain the greens got lodged into my gums. This scared my wife as she thought I was choking. I was able to remove the metal wire and I reported it to the manager. He did apologize and recognized that it was from one of his strainers. His final statement to me was "Thank you for understanding." No removal of the contaminated food tray from the line. No replacement side. No complimentary dessert. No refund or discount. At that point, my wife was angry! There are a lot of elderly people who eat there. If one of them had swallowed that wire and was injured, Steph's would have ended up getting sued. Luck was on their side with me not pursuing the matter, but their lack of gratitude and their unwillingness to correct their error got them on my wife's bad side. And we haven't returned since.
