I might sound a bit snobbish here (being from L.A.) but when you think of breakfast being essentially the same everywhere, you haven't sampled a bunch of the breakfast specialty restaurants in L.A. There "is" a difference between good scrambled eggs and average. This was pretty much average, and I wouldn't be as harsh if this spot didn't specialize in breakfast. Tasted like Denny's (which by the way is closing 150 restaurants) The outdoor patio is nice, and suggested, weather permitting. Nice people here as well.

Little hole in the wall. Type of place that makes you feel comfy. You know what you're gonna get. Food and service are equivalent to that of a diner. Pricing is fair, $50 for 3 people entrees and coffees. Nothing super exciting, but nothing bad at all!!

Tucked way in the back of this small shopping center, is an unpretentious restaurant that shouldn't be overlooked. We found to be true their own Yelp posting "Quality food, Friendly service at a fair price". Since they are one of the few restaurants that open at a reasonable hour, we went there for breakfast on a holiday. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful; she also followed up quite well and took a sincere interest in how we liked our food. You can see from my pics this is a straight-forward, unpretentious restaurant. When we first walked in, it was noticeable that everything was very clean and orderly (notice on each table is hand sanitizer). I posted 3 pages from their menu: all breakfast items. They also serve lunch, BUT more importantly they smoke meat onsite. Learning this important piece of information, I ordered their Tri Tip Benedict. As you can see from my pic, I got my money's worth. There was more tri tip than I expected to get. While not quite fork tender, it didn't take much to cut through. In of itself, the tri tip had that wonderful beef flavor with just a hint of smoke. This went very well with the correctly cooked poached eggs. I ordered my country potatoes extra crispy and they came out as ordered - they were a bit bland. But I was very full with the tri tip benedict. We also had an egg and ham omelet, but served skillet style. This was plated over their country potatoes. As you can see from my pic this is a plateful. The eggs were scrambled as expected and had an ample amount of cheddar cheese (which is what we choose). The diced ham was the star: good quality. The country potatoes were cooked to their usual doneness and were a bit bland.

My son and I come here every Saturday morning. Not just to lower the median age of 85, but to enjoy the great breakfast. We love the red vinyl chairs with brass casters. We love our waitress Margie. Tilapia and trout and eggs on the menu? Who orders that and why is it on the menu???

Recently came here with a group of friends and two dogs. We sat outside because of four legged friends, but it was no big deal! Most of us ordered the breakfast croissant, and it was good enough for all of us! My husband also ordered a side of soup, which was delicious! The servers were really sweet and loved all of our four legged friends that came along with us. The place itself is filled with locals and looked pretty busy, granted it was a Sunday! There weren't too many options available in Beaumont, so I'm glad to have found this place for some brunch before heading back into the city!

This is the second time we visit the restaurant, first time service was amazing. This time it was good. Our server was extremely busy, it took longer than expected to take our order but it's understandable most places are understaffed. Nevertheless,she was very attentive. My Sandwhich was great, missing the powdered sugar but when I asked the server for some she came and brought some right away. Overall she was great. The issue was another employee. We were already done , check payed, leftovers in containers, just finishing our drinks and cleaning up (we have kids). She came around and was pouring more coffee I said no thanks and signaled with my hand, as I repeated "no thank you, were already leaving" she was already pouring more coffee into my perfectly already prepared coffee. Not a huge deal but I was really enjoying my coffee, I wish she would've stopped to listen.

Amazing customer service, tasty food & would highly recommend to anyone in the area! My favorites are the breakfast burrito, the Belgian waffles with chocolate chips always hits the spot and for lunch their BBQ is DELICIOUS. Great breakfast! Huge fan of the Monte Cristo, Chicken fried steak, eggs benedict, burgers, fries, and onion rings. The place definitely needs a remodel on tables and chairs. Really found it annoying when my waitress kept referring my boyfriend and I as "Kids." Other then that great food, place, and location. read more

What a really nice surprise! My family and I arrived very close to closing time, the owner/manager took us in and treated us as if we were "royal"! The food was excellent, the service impeccable and it was a nice way to finish a hectic morning. We will definitely be returning! I highly recommend! It was quite honestly one of the better experiences I have had in a great while. read more

So I went here this past Tuesday (started writing this 1/2/2014) and mhmmm I was impressed. I was raised in an African household and we eat big portions and believe in big portions and food with FLAVOR. So when ever I eat at classic places like this I always prepare myself for you know that usual basic taste that American food usually tastes like at diners etc. KAFE ROYALE IS SET APART PEOPLE! I'm very big on meat. I lovee excess amounts of meat in my food so I asked what was the meatiest thing on the menu (some random family in the corner started laughing...GET OUT MY CONVERSATION STRANGERS... Anywho) and the waitress recommended the SENSATIONAL OMELET. As stated earlier, I'm a huge meat eater so I asked if I could substitute the mushrooms for meat (because I don't know how Americans get down with their mushrooms) and long story short my food was ON POINT. Now let me describe this omlete. SO FIRST I just have to say that it was kind of odd that this half circle omlete was coated in like melted cheese squares . . . I gave it the side eye for a moment like 0.o... But ooooh Lord Jesus, when I put my fork into that omlete and all this meat fell out I almost cried like the true foodie I am and there was a party in my mouth yall. The flavor was just right, the meat was seasoned right IDK what kind of bacon, sausage and ham they used for the omlete but they better not change it because oooooh it was BANGIN'! THE OMLETE WAS HUGE! This made me especially happy because American people like to eat small like rats. . . I can't get down like that. I eat medium pizzas whole so ain't nobody got time to be eating small portions like I have an infant stomach. Out waitress I believe her name was Stephee? She was sweet and there was this cute little blonde girl walking around who she said was her grandaughter who thought she worked there. LOL too cute. I loved the family vibe of the place. The fact that her grandaughter was tapping her hip IDK I loved that. Some stuck up people might be like "Ahhhh so unprofessional" but I loved the warmth, and the natural family vibe the place had. :) I can't wait to go again. Finally an American restaurant that understands what MEAT & BIG PORTIONS MEANS! read more

Eggs Benedict. Probably among the best you will ever have. Go ahead and add some grilled mushrooms, it'll taste so good once it hits your lips. Other meals are pretty generic and on par with Dennys type meals/servings....which isn't a bad thing. Seating feels very retro and eating at these kinds of older establishments almost make me feel like a kid again. Staff is always very friendly and accomodating and food wait is never long. It's a good place in a good corner to grab an inexpensive breakfast with friends after a night of hard boozing, or simply with the family. But do yourself a favor, try the eggs benedict. Your toes will curl. read more

Great place for a home style breakfast. I've only eaten here for breakfast but I've never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and the service is attentive. The menu consists of your typical home style breakfasts but some of the ingredients have a little extra flare. I especially like the breakfast sausage. The links are about twice the size of most places and they have a little spicy flavor that compliments eggs well. The prices are very low for what you get and the portions are just right. You'll walk away full but you won't feel ashamed of having half a meal left on your plate. Great traditional diner meals for a price that can't be beat. read more

Had been many years since I'd last been here. Went with my girlfriend for breakfast. They have definitely revised the interior space over the years, retaining some of the 70s-80s interior furnishings with more modern designs. Has a cozy feel. I had the blue plate- Sausage and cheese scramble. It was good, and cheap. Service was friendly. My girlfriend had the corned beef hash. I took a bite and it literally tasted like cat food. I have never had corned beef hash this bad before in my life- It was comically bad. I would have given Kafe Royale a four-star review otherwise, but this type of oversight has me questioning the quality of their other options as well. My meal was fine, but proceed with caution. read more

Has been a go to breakfast spot for myself with friends and family for years. Margie is the best server you could ever ask for! Unfortunately under the new ownership the portions seem to be shrinking, the menus are now dull and lack any photos. The service is still excellent and the wait staff is always amazing. Just wish the quality of food and portions had stayed the same. read more

Worth the hype. I had the Breakfast Special (which I usually do) and it was fantastic. You can always tell a good breakfast place when the coffee doesn't need sugar and is always full. Waitress's were awesome, very polite and customer service oriented!! Great spot! read more

My mother (90 years young) and I go to breakfast every Friday. We have visited restaurants from West Fontana to Beaumont, and up to Oak Hills and Wright Wood. This is our favorite. It is quiet, but not because it is empty. It is family type friendly, and patrons are hometown. The food is great with the right size portions (not too much, and not too little). The price is embarrassingly cheap when considering the atmosphere and quality of the food. You might be able to eat there cheaper than you can at home. If you live within 20 miles of this place, you must give it a try. You will return. Although, we have not had everything on the menu, what we have eaten fits the review above. read more

The crowd was there, get there early the brunch bunch was huge. My waitress was awesome! She provided recommendations and checked on our table often. She knew the locals by name and they knew her. Kafe Royale is a little hidden gem in Calimesa. My boyfriend's family is a huge fan, so we usually get together for breakfast on the weekends here. The multi-grain pancakes are a favorite, especially with chocolate chips added! They do boast a lot of cinnamon flavor, so if that sounds like it would float your boat, definitely give them a try! I do love the classic buttermilk pancakes too. The syrup is always served super hot!! I tried one of the scrambles here too, and it was delicious. I don't remember the name but it was the one with chorizo and pepperjack cheese. It was A TON of food! I don't always like something sweet for breakfast and the scrambles are a perfect fix for those times. The prices are already reasonable but when you check in with Yelp you get a 20% off coupon to use! You can't beat that deal for a delicious breakfast :) read more

Stephi was awesome! Super sweet and attentive! Food was great, and inexpensive. Parker said that was was the best hollandaise sauce he's had in a while. Stephi suggested the tri-tip Benedict, and he was not disappointed. French toast was good, but I want to try the pancakes next time. All in all, great meal, comfy environment, and not pricey! I love Margie! She's sweet as pie and so very efficient! She runs the whole dining room on her own, and is great at it. Every person in the building is nice and service oriented. I like places like this where they care about the customer. The food. Great! Fresh! Tasty! Thoughtful! Well-made! And bomb-dot-com sausage gravy! I would skip all the other places, except Arthur's, and just come here. Alternate! That's a good idea. The barbecue is delicious and they will use it in everything if you ask. It was meh food. Good service. If your driving through it's an ok place to stop by, there isn't that many options in this area. Our eggs Benedict we ok. Place needs a remodel. The seats in the booth are ripped up and uneven. But like I said the people who work there are nice. Five stars for their customer service. One star for their food. read more

We love this breakfast spot it's nearly every Sunday for us. CONSISTENTLY GOOD FOOD. That's why I come here and when I want a perfectly done chicken fried steak I come here. It's always been a good choice here and I order that meal everywhere I go. This is the best. Other items are great like the multigrain pancakes and the sausage links and tri tip. I love Kafe Royal as my go to spot for breakfast food. Margie is so sweet and attentive to all of her tables. The Big Ryan burrito with tri tip is amazing and will last you two meals (huge portion!). The Tri Tip eggs Benedict is amazing as well. They have a huge menu and I should try more things, but honestly those two are my favorites and it's hard to order anything thing else when I eat there :) read more

Came here for dinner with my grandma tonight and it was OUTSTANDING! Started off with the zucchini sticks and they were probably the best I've ever had! Not oily at all and SO crispy! I had the ribs and pulled pork combo with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Grandma had the ribs and chicken with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The meat is crazy good! Tastes like real BBQ! Prices are beyond reasonable for the amount of food you get! Service was excellent! This will be my go-to BBQ place! The only thing I would say is the BBQ sauce in the bottle came out cold like it had been refrigerated. They had just opened so maybe that's why. I probably could have asked them to heat it for me but I wanted to dig right in! read more

I used to come here a lot as a kid. This place has some interesting charm. We usually go here for breakfast and the portions are pretty good. Their mimosas are pretty good as well. The staff of pretty friendly and attentive. We usually split the cinnamon swirl combo. Their restrooms are clean which is always important to a mom! read more

Kid friendly, laid back atmosphere, very nice staff. Food was okay - not bad, it's just that when you're comparing breakfast food to your previous go to spot Laws Coffee shop it's hard to find breakfast food that's "good". Only thing I didn't like was they advertised a discount when checking in and you can only do it on the weekdays not weekends. That should be advertised also. The cashier felt bad and seemed frustrated as well (it looked like a manager or owner who told her no discount). read more

Since it was my first visit, they also gave me a slice of their passion fruit pie to try. The flavor was great -- nice and tart, slightly sour, and the crust was baked perfectly. It just wasn't really for me since I'm not much of a pie person to begin with. But I ended up ordering a whole pie to take home because I knew my mom would love it, and I was absolutely right. My only criticism was the coffee being too thin for my liking, but keeping our coffee mugs filled was something they definitely did well! The service was wonderful. They knew we were in a rush, and handled us with TLC the entire 35 minutes we had. What I do know is, I will be looking forward to our next tax appointment, hah, knowing our morning will start off right here. The servers are friendly and it's not too busy - lines of maybe 4 or 5 people at the most. There are two businesses sharing the same building: Village Bread on the right and Lucid Coffee on the left. You get in line and pay twice, once for drinks and again for pastries. It's great to support local, independent businesses and hopefully the arrangement is working out well for both of them. There are small tables with stools to sit on around the side of the counter on the way to the gender-neutral restroom at the back of the shop. The tables are a bit small but it leaves a wide aisle and clearly communicates that the building is accessible for folks who use wheelchairs. The hum of the oven fans creates white noise in the background and there is music playing but not distractingly loud. I find it easy to get work done here. There is free wifi, ask at the counter for the QR code or password.

I recently visited Kafe Royale with R and S, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive, especially when it came to keeping our drinks refilled, which is always a nice touch. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich with fried zucchini and coleslaw, and every bite was delicious. The sandwich was perfectly cooked with a great balance of flavors, the fried zucchini was crispy and well-seasoned, and the coleslaw was fresh and tangy. It was clear that a lot of care went into preparing our meals. Overall, Kafe Royale exceeded my expectations. Our server completely forgot my drink, and while the average wait time for a drink is usually around 3-4 minutes, mine took about 13 minutes to arrive -- after everyone else at my table had already received their coffee. Speaking of the coffee, it wasn't great. One person at our table didn't even finish theirs because it just didn't taste right. On a more positive note, the burrito I ordered wasn't bad at all -- probably the best part of the meal. Overall, the service was slow and the drinks underwhelming. I have eaten here a couple of times with my boyfriend and when I discovered it was going to be less than a block from where I was visiting my son I couldn't wait to take them here. It's nothing fancy and I have only had breakfast here. They have a traditional menu nothing real "exotic" except for maybe my "go to": Southern eggs benedict! The service is always great. Almost feels like I'm eating at my grammy's house! My boys who are really grown men practically cleaned their plates. None of us walked out hungry that's for sure. read more

The Yucaipa High School class of '65 had our reunion breakfast at Kafe Royale with about 40 people. Service was fast, the food was hot, and everyone got their food at about the same time. My thanks to Juan, the owner, and also Theresa and Jamie. The cook and kitchen staff deserve a thank you too. We weren't rushed at all and had plenty of time to eat and visit. We've always enjoyed breakfast at the Kafe Royale. Last week they extended their hours to include dinner. My husband and I ordered the Tri Tip. It was amazing! Perfectly cooked and tender. I visited this restaurant while I was in town last week, it was so good that we went back twice! We had a party of 14, the service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. My mom had the tri-tip benedict and loved it! I heard they will be opening nights for BBQ, can't wait to come back and try it! All around great establishment!! read more
