Wanted breakfast on a Sunday and Clarkies was closed so my friend and I ended up here. I ordered the multigrain pancake combo and added chocolate chips. The pancakes are pretty good but quite a bit smaller than clarkies. There is also an up charge of $1.50 to add chocolate chips, which is a little steep but they're good so not a huge deal. What I don't like is if you order a tall stack of pancakes, which I took home to my kids, there is one cost but to make them multigrain it's another $1.50. So for a tall stack of multigrain chocolate chip pancakes it's an extra $3. I know prices have gone up but I just don't love places that nickel and dime people. Bottom line is if clarkies is open I'm going there but in a pinch this place is a decent second. read more

My wife and I are frequent customers and for the most part we are happy with the service and the food is pretty good. However, today was a different story. Jamie, our server was terrible and had an attitude. The problem I have with Kafe Royale is I feel they have an ENTITLEMENT attitude. They have this persona that they are entitled to a tip regardless of the service they give. We traditional leave a generous tip when service is good... we value and reward good service, but also if you don't give it you won't get it! You get what you give soya speak. Jamie displayed her attitude again when we were departing because she didn't like her tip, very rude and condescending parting comment from her. But is it her fault she feels entitled, maybe not... because the owner has a sign that says all takeout orders will be AUTOMATICALLY charged a 12% gratuity.... Automatically... you don't even get the choice of the percent of the tip or not. Whaaaat? Tips are designed to reward good service not automatic. I find this very displeasing when someone feels entitled vs rewarded. And as for Jamie, I will not have her as my server going forward. Very poor!! read more

This place has not disappointed. The food is always delicious and fresh and made with care. This is the first place I tried a Monte Christo sandwich. Utterly amazing!! The ambience is simple and cozy which goes perfect with the comfort food served there. I can't recall ever having been disappointed with the service here. The staff is always friendly, courteous and attentive. It never feels like you have to wait too long for food to be served and it's always the right temperature. Relaxed, comfortable, cafe with great service. I had the Cobb salad and it was delish - the chicken was freshly grilled, tender and very nicely seasoned. A basic iceberg lettuce salad, avocado, hard boiled egg, bacon, tomato - I enjoyed it. My man had the special of steak and eggs - he ate every bite! Had lunch here today for 1123 had the Tri tip jacked up with jalapenos added onions absolutely no flavor to them and they charge me extra for the onions not worth the money Spoke to someone in regards to it and all they can say is we add for extras have a nice day! read more

Very nice ambience in the outdoor courtyard and indoor booth seats. Friendly, attentive staff. Clean bathrooms. We really enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich and delicious barbecue sauce. The kids had grilled cheese and french fries, which were big portions. Delicious beef and vegetable soup. Big parking area in rear of strip mall, where I parked my RV trailer. My only complaint is that it is a little expensive, but maybe not for the area. $50 for my family, with my wife and I splitting a sandwich. I was surprised my sandwich didn't come with any side, and it was five dollars extra to add 6 onion rings. Kids meals didn't cone with a drink, and apple juice was $2.50 each. I'm so disappointed because I came here one other time and was so happy with the food and service...all I can say is don't come around closing. They closed on a Labor Day weekend around 1:40 (closing on as supposed to be at 2p. We got there around 1p) The food was still decent..Even though the servers were nice, they interrupted our meal to have me get up and close our tab early and started vacuuming near us. I did ask them to not continue around us because we had out baby with us. I asked what was going on and she said that they've been slow and if they don't close now they will get customers in last minute having them stay til 3 or later. Hmmm you know it just didn't make us feel very comfortable or even welcomed. And to top it off it was me and my husband anniversary so I really wanted to enjoy being out with him, Well if your looking for a good cafe/brunch spot we will just go back to Carolyn's in Redlands. The women never rush you out around closing, they never close early and the food is worth the wait. Truly disappointing. The food was delicious. Our server was Jaime who was a helpful and great lady who is the best waitress who actually loves her job and it shows. We definitely will be back. She made our breakfast a pleasant experience. Our coffee cups were never empty nor were our water cups empty. We enjoyed the California eggs benedict, and "boy oh boy", you best be hungry when placing your order. Consider yourself warned. It's a heaping serving of delicious goodness along with hashbrowns. We also tried the pancake breakfast and in my opinion way better than Dennys. I love country eateries and this fits the bill. We definitely will be back. I watched a variety of breakfast plates go by and could hear other patrons rave about their choice of meals with satisfaction and praise. I am now one of them.
