There are two coffee shops on Main St in downtown Fredericksburg. Having been to both, I prefer the vibe here. The space feels open, airy, and warm. The coffee beans are from Greater Goods Roastery in Austin. They offer different alternate milks including oat milk! And the pastries are all homemade. They really do taste homemade, but they're also beautiful (not like my Pinterest failures). Kaffee Haus is owned by a mother-daughter team, and while they've only been open about the last year, they're really the best in town. Recommended: The gluten free chocolate chip cookie!!! We stumbled across the Kaffee Haus while shopping on Main Street during our recent trip to Fredericksburg. I'm so glad we did! Kaffee Haus totally exceeded my expectations. Despite it being on Main Street in a touristy wine town in the Texas hill country, this place could hold its own against big city coffee roasters. I had a black cold brew my first time there, and it was a great flavor. I went back the next day and got it with their Mexican sweet cream and was really pleased at the flavor that added without being too sweet. I would recommend the Mexican sweet cream cold brew for sure. Loved it, would absolutely go back. read more

We watched the line all morning til was what we deemed doable and were very happy we did. The staff was super friendly, muffins were huge and though my first pour wasn't hot hot like I like it, they traded for a super hot fresh brew with an apology and a smile. This coffee house is so cute and the customer service is amazing ! I accidentally dropped my coffee and they happily cleaned it up and offered me a free replacement. I ordered a second round and when made incorrectly it was replaced hassle free. They also cleaned up my mess with out a fuss . Th shop is very cute and the prices are extremely fair. We stopped by here on a Sunday in the middle of the day and they almost had a line out the door. However, the girls behind the counter were fast. We had our drinks in less than 15 mins. The girl at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. The chai and cold brew we got were delicious! I only gave it 4 stars because they barely have any seating. Came here during a weekend visit to Fredericksburg. Went with the eggnog latte and was surprised that it took about 15-20min to make! It wasn't super busy, and even if it is, I don't expect that kind of wait time for a coffee drink... It was a good drink, however, and the ambiance is nice and quaint as well. read more

I love it when I can give a 4 star review of a coffee joint. This one definitely deserves it! They provide gluten free options, which is fairly rare. One thing I can say 100% is that the gluten free brownie paired with their holiday eggnog latte is fabulous. My dirty chai tea latte was very flavorful but not overly sweet. My husband got the gingerbread latte and really enjoyed his! Shop while you wait for a drink, and you also can grab some treats if you're gluten free or vegan! Facts: coffee is good not great. Customer service is poor. We were visiting for a weekend and the manager was super rude. There was a mix up in the order we requested and it was too late for them to make another one. She said we had to pay for it if we wanted another one. All other coffee shops I've been to in Houston, Tx (and we've been to all of them) never had this problem. Facts: She wanted to charge me extra for a pump of hazelnut I wanted added to an iced americano. Facts:The desert is basic and they don't warm it up for you. Facts: We witnessed the manager also slam the door on two other girls when it was time for closing. I never really leave reviews but this one is definitely deserved. I visited Fredericksburg last year, my friends and I woke up every morning to get our breakfast here. I would order the iced chai latte and it was always made to perfection everyday. I've tried many chai lattes especially here in Dallas but nothing beats the one from Kaffee Haus, shout out to the boy who always made it. Great coffee, great gluten free lemon poppy seed scone and vegan cookie. I like that they had a few gluten free options for the pastries. Though I would say to call themselves a bakery there really wasn't that many options. The coffee shop was connected to a clothing store which was cool to get to wander through as we waited for our coffee. Cute place, open early and the staff is very attentive. I ordered an iced latte w/ coconut milk and hazelnut syrup, I could not taste any syrup and it just tasted like coffee and milk (which I understand a latte is coffee and milk, however if I order a syrup in my coffee I'd like to taste it). This is my second time coming here and not tasting much flavor in my lattes when I order a flavored syrup. There is also not many options for flavored syrups as opposed to other coffee shops around. We went here both mornings of our weekend away! The first morning we chose it because it was walking distance from our Air bnb and we were all really pleased with the coffee drinks we ordered. Very friendly customer service too. There's a cute boutique inside that wasn't open, hence our return the next day.
