The atmosphere took me back to Mainz Germany over 40 years ago where I met my husband. We were blown away with the menu when we looked at it online. It didn't disappoint. We took one bite of each dish and immediately were transported back to Germany. It was so good. Tender Schnitzel, curry chicken was an unexpected delight as it was something we'd never had before. So full that we couldn't finish nearly half. We had to get desert to go: Black Forest Cake and German Chocolate Cake. The server was patient because we were so excited, we couldn't decide. It was all we'd hoped for and it's worth the drive from San Antonio to come back many times. Loved it.

A German dining experience since 1977 yes please! I was with my friend in Fredericksburg and decided to go eat at this restaurant. I really love how old it looks and seems their recipes haven't changed since they first opened. Our waiter told us this about the soup. When you first enter the first section of the restaurant is empty. I got worried for a moment but when you go to the back the place is packed! Their menu is large but I was there for one thing! The schnitzels! I got the pork one with the mushroom sauce on top and one sausage as a side. I really did enjoy my meal! It will be my go to spot to bring people visiting out of town

My 2nd try trying German food since childhood, and I honestly don't think I'm much of a fan of it as I thought. It was still good, though, so I encourage you to try. Just not my favorite. However, the environment is absolutely stunning, clean, and the staff were so kind! I ordered the wiener schnitzel to go & picked up my order.

Awesome food! Super cute place and great service! Jager and Red pepper schnitzel were delicious and the potatoes soooo yummy.

In Fredericksburg there is a spot, Where wieners sizzle, thick and hot. Der Lindenbaum, oh bless this place, One bite and I questioned my whole life's pace. The tater salad? Warm and crazy, Like a hug from a German lunch lady. It whispers, "Ja, you need more beer," Then vanishes like it was never here. But the kraut - dear Lord - a sour delight, It polka'd through my taste buds all night. Crunchy, tangy, borderline divine, Like angels fermented it in brine. Five stars, no question, not even a maybe. That meal hugged my soul like a drunk German baby. If heaven has bratwurst, they cater from here... Now pass the mustard and bring me more beer!

After being in Germany for a few months a few years ago, I always seek German cuisine as often as I can. I stumbled upon this place with my girlfriend as we were visiting and found it to be a good experience overall. The food tasted great. I would say most things were as accurate as you could get, unfortunately I haven't been to a german restaurant that has the same types of sausages as Germany, but this restaurant has been the closest by far!

Authentic German food! Cute location along Main Street in a historic building that looks to have been a bank (vault door still there). Lots of seating options in a comfortable and welcoming environment (you feel like you are in someone's home). Great service from the moment you walk in. Food came out very quickly. Lots of delicious dishes. Everything that was ordered was lovely. The desserts were very tasty as well.

This place is nice, quaint escape from the loudness and the business of Main Street. Pretty small restaurant but excellent food and service. The Burgermeister platte was filling. Their take on German potato salad is very unique: it had a mashed potatoes consistency to it with a little sweetness and not much vinegar at all. This restaurant is ran by a sweet German lady.

Great place, quiet and calm. Highly recommend the jager schnitzel with a few extra sides and rye bread.

Friendly staff, great energy, amazing music, and an unbeatable patio, what more could you ask for? 10/10 recommend. This will be a must-stop every time I'm in Fredericksburg.

We shared a few bottles of rosé and spent way longer than we planned because the atmosphere was just so inviting. The wine bar is set inside a beautifully restored historic home, with several cozy rooms that make it feel like you're relaxing in someone's stylish living room rather than a typical wine bar. It has such a warm, welcoming vibe. We loved that they also have a piano bar with live music in the evenings, it would be such a fun place to spend an evening! The owner even stopped by our table to check on us, chat for a bit, and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. That personal touch really stood out and made us feel so welcome. Whether you're looking for a wine flight, a bottle to share with friends, or just a cozy place to unwind after shopping on Main Street, I highly recommend stopping by. The two stars is NOT for the piano player Pierson Keating, who is great, for whom I would give 5 Stars. For clarification I have had a total of 3 glasses of wine since noon and it's currently 7 o'clock and I am writing this review as I am leaving. I have a strong understanding of TABC rules and regulations, and this question was misplaced and pretty rude. Pierson, the pianist, asked my group to sing a song we requested because he was unsure of the lyrics, then the staff asked the group to sit down. Not sure if this place is catered to the older crowd or just not accustomed to having girls who like to have a good time, but I wouldn't come back here if you payed me. Staff 2.7/10. Food 6.7/10. Pianist 10/10.

Blake greeted me and he was very friendly. I sat at the bar and ordered a burger and fries, chicken wings, and onion rings. They had one cook, and he was pretty cool. This was definitely a "locals" bar, but the staff made me feel comfortable. The food took a while to come out, but when it did, it was fresh and hot. Everything tasted ok, but the burger and onion rings, which had been recommended by the bartender, were really good. The bar was well stocked, and the beer was cold. They had plenty of patio seating, and they host live music. The bar area and the bathrooms are in need of some TLC. Parking on Main Street can be a challenge. Our server was friendly, but there were a few communication hiccups throughout the meal. We were served bottled water without being told there was a charge, which caught us off guard since most nearby restaurants offer complimentary water. The server also offered chips and salsa as we were handed menus, so it sounded like a complimentary starter, but it's actually $10 on the menu. After waiting about 40 minutes, we decided to cancel the order (which turned out hadn't been entered anyway). Service was pleasant but inconsistent. One of our friends arrived a few minutes after us and ordered coffee right away, but her cup didn't come out until well after ours, and when it did, the cup wasn't very clean. Also worth noting that gratuity is automatically added for parties of six or more, and they don't split checks. We accidentally double-tipped, but the manager was kind and quickly resolved it. On the plus side, the space is casual, dog-friendly, and has plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The food was the highlight. My Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich was flavorful with crispy fries, my husband's Hideaway Burger was cooked well, and our friend's Chicken & Waffles were tasty, though a bit heavy on the waffle and light on the chicken. Overall, the food and atmosphere were good, but the lack of transparency around pricing and a few service missteps made the experience less smooth than it could've been. Decent spot, but I'd probably try somewhere else next time.
