Sorry didn't take photos other than my hand holding my cup of Mayan Mocha which I really enjoyed. This lovely coffee shop is nestled next to the German Bakery pop in grab coffee here and a pastry next door. There are also several rooms full of decor, cook books and other kitchen goodies to dress up your breakfast area/kitchen at home.

Very pricey, but the coffee was so good. Went both days that we were there. The holiday drink, peppermint mocha, but make it iced!!! The egg, ham & cheese croissant was SO good. warning if you're eating in the car like me, the egg is runny

Excellent cup - definitely a to-go place worth going to! Ordered the usual: decaf flat white with heavy cream. Perfect ratios! The cup was hot but not scalding, just the right amount of bitter flavor to balance the cream and it was silky smooth down to the last drop! As the quote from Julia Childs says on the window outside: if you're afraid to use butter, use cream. We'd come back again in a heartbeat if we were in town (or passing thru!)

Rockhaus Coffee is more of a mercantile exchange than a coffee shop. While they do offer several types of coffee and styles or brew, and a few breakfast items, it's not the expansive coffee shop one would expect on Main Street. The staff is friendly enough, but they have few choices to offer. The primary focus of the store is the rooms and rooms and rooms full of home accessories, old and new. The pics explain the scene. It's very easy to get lost in the maze. It's fun to walk through and see all the "stuff" but one would be better served at a different coffee shop if you're serious about coffee and a breakfast snack.

Good coffee shop in the downtown. They make some decent latte and espresso drinks. Nice place for a grab and go drink.

I enjoyed a delicious cortado. The layout was beautiful, showcasing a range of fascinating items, from cups and glasses to bowls, vases, pots, centerpieces, and decor. While the prices are on the higher side, you'll find unique pieces not often seen in larger home markets. Definitely worth a visit! We had a wonderful time exploring this coffee shop.

Great coffee, eclectic vibe. Appreciated shopping around the interesting merchandise while waiting for my order. Barista was pleasant and engaging. I'm sure I'll be back.

Quaint coffee shop on Main Street. They've got your regular espresso drinks available. My wife got a cappuccino and I got myself an americano - both pretty good. The inside of the shop is connected to a store that sells high end home goods - nice little place to walk around while waiting for your drink. The young lady behind the bar was nice - she was the only one working but she was efficient. We visited two coffee shops in town during our visit, and this one was our favorite.

As someone who has tried many different coffee shops in Fredericksburg in search for the best, believe me when I say, Rockhaus Coffee is IT!! Ricardo is one of the many friendly baristas, and makes a delicious signature drink, "Café con Miel" It is my personal favorite at Rockhaus! Not to mention the coffee shop leads to a maze of wonders in the back of the store! As you enjoy your coffee you can browse a place filled with kitchen and home decor, and even antiques from France. I seriously feel like I'm in another country every time I visit. I will never go back to a different coffee shop in Fredericksburg - Rockhaus is just the best!

Fantastic coffee!! If you are a coffee lover you must try their drinks. We had a cappuccino and a bombon. The bombon was so good we had two. The best coffee!

The coffee is fine I guess. They lie to you about their restroom being out of order, even when you are a paying customer.

ChatGPT raved about Sunset Grill, so we hopped in the car and zoomed down. Upon arriving, we walked into the cramped restaurant, and we were greeted by a nice hostess. She put our name on a list, and we had a brief 5-10 minute wait before we were seated. We were handed menus and left to peruse the menu. After a brief wait, we were greeted by our waiter and he took our drinks. In good time the waiter was back with drinks and he took our order. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It came with potatoes and toast. The wife ordered the plate with eggs over easy, crispy bacon, and potatoes. The wife and I sat and had a nice visit. We should not have drank our drinks so fast, as they stayed empty the entire time we visited. Our waiter not once made eye contact so we could get a refill either. After an average wait time, our food came. Our waiter noticed the drinks and then refilled them. My omelette was undercooked and watery, the cheese was not melted, and the bacon was chewy. Furthermore, the toast was also very dry. I would have gotten butter to put on them, but the waiter never came back to check on us. The wife's eggs were cooked over hard, the bacon was rubbery, and very underwhelming. Our drinks went empty and we never got refills, again. We paid the bill and went shopping. I was glad to get out of there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but I think they missed the mark here. ChatGPT did me dirty on this one. I don't know if they just were having a bad day, or what the deal was, but this was a one and done for me. I cannot say I recommend this one. I was very disappointed.

Checking…read moreYelp, we discover that on a Tuesday evening, most of the German restaurants in town have already closed at 3pm. That's when Otto's stood out to us. Not only was it the first restaurant to show up on Yelp (very highly rated), but also it was OPEN. While it may have been an accident that we chose Otto's, it was a lucky break. They were awesome. It was very busy, so we had to eat on the patio, but our table had plenty of shade and a nice breeze from a wall fan. It's a block off the main drag, so you don't have to put up with lots of traffic going by. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food didn't take too long to come out. The selections were fairly extensive. The food quality, portion sizes and flavor were spot on. We also highly recommend the Black Forest cake.

It's great the way it is, and trying to make it fancy doesn't make it better. But I've always thought that if a restaurant has only a few options on its menu, they had better all be great, and I didn't find that to be the case at Otto's. One of us had the schnitzel au gratin, which seemed more to be like a chicken Parmesan. I had the duck schnitzel. I would say they were just both OK. The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate. There wasn't much flavor to my red cabbage, and my spaetzel seemed to be more like a modern day risotto. And this at a restaurant that makes you leave your credit card for a reservation and threatens to charge if you cancel less than 24 hours before. For that, it had better knock my socks off. But my socks are still on, and they won't be walking back to Otto's. Extra star for the great location.

After three visits, I kept hoping things would improve--but it feels like this place is leaning more on its location than the actual dining experience. First off, the setting is awesome. You're literally right on the ramp watching planes come and go--it's a great vibe and honestly the main reason to visit. But beyond that, things start to fall off. Each time I've been here, they've seemed understaffed. It's a seat-yourself setup, but even after sitting down, service can be pretty slow. On more than one visit, parts of the menu weren't available, and on my last trip, the kitchen wasn't even taking breakfast orders because they were too backed up. Food has been inconsistent: * Breakfast tacos were just okay * Eggs came out overcooked when ordered over-easy * Grits were watery * Bacon and sausage didn't taste fresh On the most recent visit, we had to switch to lunch. The burger was average, and the wrap was oddly put together--very thick but not well balanced. Also, the sweet potato tots we ordered were swapped out for fries. I really want to like this place because the location is genuinely special. But right now, it feels like a spot you go to for the view, not the food. With better service and more consistency in the kitchen, this could be a standout.

Absolutely stellar food, quality ingredients and great flavors. We had leftovers for sure, lol, something to eat on the drive back to DFW the next day. For dinner, we sat outside and had Jess as our server. She was also really nice, she had quite a few tables and still managed to give us plenty of attention. We had carnitas nachos and the ground beef soup. The carnitas nachos are... unnecessarily large. lol Luckily the soup bowl was very small so I was able to help the boyfriend with some nachos. But my small effort was not enough and he tapped out of the nachos at the halfway mark. Highly recommend the nachos if you have four friends with you. =D This was a great restaurant with a lovely outdoor space.
