I paid Kafin HVAC to put a heating system in my home in Cumberland RI and it won't heat my house, cost me more in one month than my old system cost me for two years and Kafin HVAV won't make it right! A 208 BTU oil fired burner was taken out and a 130 bBTU gas burner was installed which is not enough to heat the house to more than 58 degrees when the temperature goes down to the single digits. I narrowly avoided a propane explosion because of this company's failure to fix a common problem. They repaired a water leak on the boiler in November, then we scheduled an inspection/cleaning in December since the unit had no been serviced in quite a few years, which Kafin was aware of. On both occasions, the technician had to relight the pilot and never said a word about the corroded thermocouple right there in plain sight. (for those who are not familiar with a thermocouple, it's the MOST common item to fail, especially in cold weather). This should have been caught on one of those 2 visits. We began smelling gas in the garage the last week in January. When the boiler stopped working the following Saturday, along with a strong gas smell upstairs, we requested an emergency service call. The technician found the thermocouple was severely corroded, also causing the gas to leak. The bad part was replaced and the boiler re-lit. Their failure to catch the problem on either of previous visits almost caused a gas explosion. I cannot recommend this company. read more

My husband and I bought a house last summer. After we moved in we were told by another service company that the two systems we had were not compatible and it would void our warranty if we used them both. The pervious owned had melted the computer system with the wood furnace. Kafin had fixed the issue of compatibility with updated duct work and automatic dampers. After a few angry calls the previous home owner put us in contact with Kafin who walked us through what they did, why they did it and made sure that it all worked for us. I wish I had known their number earlier. Next year we will nice and toasty warm using our wood furnace. The owner and his worker were really friendly and explained things very simply. read more

Horrible customer service. I dread calling for an oil delivery because the women who work there are soo rude! They act like I am doing them a dis-service by purchasing oil from them. Only stayed with the company because it is who my landlord uses. We are buying a home that uses oil and we will definitely NOT be using Kafin! read more

I can't say enough good about kafin.... They have been to my house twice now for big jobs, one was a boiler replacement and a second time for a hot water heater replacement and a whole house water filter install a day the technicians were polite, professional and well skilled... They started on time, laid down floor protection for my hardwood floors, were neat in the basement and when they left my basement was Cleaner than when they got here.... I have also called twice e for emergency situations (no hot water) both on the weekends and they showed up within 30 minutes and fixed the problems both times while taking time to explain everything they were doing and what was wrong ... I just wanted to review KAFIN Oil as I think they are an excellent company to do business with. I live in a historical school house with multiple condensers on the roof for my central air. Last summer my air conditioner died and multiple central air conditioners failed in the building. One Company ripped me off $500 and my air was not fixed. KAFIN came here with an apprentice for I believe two days. They realized I did not have the same problems that other unit owners had. I think the man's name was Ed that worked on my unit, and I ended up having to get a new central air/furnace. Fast forward to this week, and there is water all over the place around the furnace. I called KAFIN and they came right away. Mr. Ed came again, and he wanted to check the condenser on the roof. Yay it was not my furnace that was broken but the woman who lives on top of me. Her air conditioner leaked all over mine. My friend was here and he went on the rood with Ed, and my nosy friend asked him all these questions. Ed explained everything that he did and he diagnosed the problem immediately. I am now glad that my friend went up there now and asked questions. Ed was very gracious to him, and very knowledgeable. I also love the fact that Kafin has an apprenticeship program where they can teach young people an excellent profession. It is very hard living in a historical condo where your problem may be connected to someone else, which is usually the case. Last year, there was so much confusion with all the units that were broken, that I got a little upset with KAFIN, but they were always respectful, hard working, and knowledgeable and polite to me. So I thank you, and I apologize if I was difficult last summer. I think you are a great company, and your workers, oh I forgot Woodie too, are all very very knowledgeable and professional. Before you came to my house, I had the people that ripped me off, then they told me I needed an electrician and I had to pay him, then my air died again two days later. Then KAFIN came and FIXED IT. I contacted Kafin regarding having the system serviced and they were an actual delight to work with. Very pleasant and professional on the phone.
