We visited Kajiken around 12 pm on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. We were seated immediately, and the staff was welcoming throughout our visit. I ordered the Homura Aburasoba and it was SO delicious. The bowl was incredibly flavorful, and I loved how every element added something to the overall dish. Everything worked really well together, and there wasn't anything that felt unnecessary or out of place. I really enjoyed my meal and would love to come back to try more of the menu. Definitely a spot I'm looking forward to revisiting!
I'm obsessed with Kajiken in the Bay Area and when I heard they opened a location in SoCal I had to go. The flavors are exactly the same. It's heavy, perfectly savory, and a saucy ramen.

9-11-2026 First, I'm impressed with their toilet paper wall, like what in the world. I've been visiting lots of public restrooms lately, so this was serendipitous. This would be great on Poop Maps. I later noticed they have different types of rolls as well. So glad they have the soft (Charmin?) textures, too. This somehow scratches the itch in my mild OCD brain. The door handles of the front are cute metal chopsticks as well, and I've been looking forward to trying this restaurant. So, I'm hoping it exceeds my expectations, as it is very unique in concept and aesthetic. The interior is cute, but a bit cramped, with not too much outdoor seating either. Since I fasted the entire day, this was particularly delicious, and looked as good as it tasted! The serving size is generous, and the chashu slices were huge. Normally, I dislike pork since it is fatty, but it was melty. The noodles are extremely hot, and it did not take long for mobile order. I'd 100% recommend this to ramen lovers, and I'm glad to have tried this today. This has been one of my favorite meals so far. The noodles are starchy and thick, and the sauces have an interesting, unfamiliar flavor.
Wanted to check this place out because saw a lot of content from social media. When we got there at around 4 pm on a Wednesday, there was no one inside, but the space was nice and clean. We ordered the keema curry noodles, and the spicy minced pork. The food came out pretty fast and tasted pretty good. However, the service was honestly not the best. Staff that took our order did not seem nice or friendly, and was mumbling so the entire experience felt a little weird and off putting. I don't know if I'll be back any time soon, but food was pretty good not gonna lie, I liked the noodle texture a lot.
First time an Kajijen last Friday. We unfortunately came on one of the hotter days of the year and their AC wasn't working so it was quite a sweat while we were eating. Smallish restaurant so expect to wait if you don't beat the dinner rush. We decided to get their regular and spicy abura soba. It comes with all the fixings like chili oil and vinegar. Taste was excellent but very strong. It does need some balancing if you're somewhat sensitive to strong taste like I am. But overall one of the better dry ramen spots in the area!
Came here for lunch today and had a great experience! Appetizers (5/5): the karaage, takoyaki, and cold tofu appetizers were surprisingly really good. Aburasoba (4/5): tried 3 different kinds and my favorites were the original and Wagyu. Highly recommend getting an order of spicy cod roe on the side, adds a nice flavor to the soba! Overall I enjoyed the mazemen here over a few other places I've tried. It doesn't feel as heavy if you add some vinegar and I like that they have different flavors. Customer service was excellent as well.
First time trying this place and it was really good. Came with the family and we got a variety of things including the homura aburasoba, original aburasoba, roast beef aburasoba, and a couple of different karaage and gyoza. The pictures made it look like a pretty small bowl, but it was a decent sized portion. I got the homura and it was really good. Noodles were nice and chewy and it was very flavorful when you mix it all together and almost tastes like a chinese dan dan noodle. Got two types of karaage and they were really good. Very nice and juicy and went well with the sauces, especially the wasabi mayo sauce. I'd stay away from the gyoza, I didn't think they were that good. Place is pretty tiny, so it fills up pretty quickly if they're busy. The workers were all really friendly and allowed us to put two tables together for our group of 7. Overall, it's slightly different than regular ramen. I think I'd like to come back and try some of the other stuff on the menu.
Crazy good flavor first time having this style and was super impressed! The garlic flakes and sauces that you can add on the side was taught to us by our super friendly waiter, great service and definitely get the ponzu karrage it's tangy and delicious got the one without Incase for the kids and they liked both
Can I start by saying this restaurant's food is absolutely delicious? I inhaled my bowl and need to come back as soon as possible! Kajiken is a small, cozy restaurant, but you feel cared for as soon as you walk in. We were checked in on multiple times. I ended up ordering their recommendation, the Homura Aburasoba. While I didn't find it to be spicy, there are also other condiments (such as chili oil) that you can add to the bowl to your taste. I substituted the raw egg for ajitama, which was a good choice for me. I would definitely get it again!
Was wanting a different ramen spot and this came up. Fortunately, was able to join waitlist (scan a QR code to join) even with less than 45 minutes to closing. Aburasoba noodles are served without the broth, mixed in with different sauces and spices. My companions got the top 1 Homaru that has minced spicy pork, green onions, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, crispy garlic and the signature chewy noodles. Option for raw egg yolk, or substitute poached egg or seasoned boiled egg. I opted for the non spicy Amakuchi, which had the same ingredients as the Top 1 but more a sweet salty flavor. I wanted the poached egg for my bowl. We also got fried gyoza, miso soup and plain rice. Single server handled all the front end business efficiently, taking orders, serving and bussing tables at the end. Very humorous bathroom, has changing table. A bit out of my way( 20 minutes plus drive) but worth it. Will try to come before so near closing time! The condiments available include chili oil, vinegar, sesame seeds and crispy garlic. I added some of each after mixing everything first. The kitchen staff cracked out orders for dine in as well as takeout.
IG/TT @eatwkris @kajikenusa in Fullerton specializes in brothless ramen or mazemen and it's so good!! They have their classic special but my favorite is their unique roast beef ramen. It comes with a tangy yogurt sauce that adds creaminess and zest to every bite. They also have tons of vegetarian options and I heard they're adding more to the menu soon. We came in expecting something similar to dipping ramen, which we have tried before but always found it to be too salty. Additionally, we had this style at another dry ramen spot though their noodles were too cold. So my expectation was not very high. Having said that, we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. -we got the top number 1 and number 2. It was not too salty at all and a little too creamy. They had vinegar, but we requested lime/lemon and that really hit the spot. With the little bit of acidity, it was perfect. -service was great, for a small spot it was very modern and intimate. -prices were a little higher, though they offer complimentary tea which really helps cut the richness of the sauce. Overall 5/5 This spot changed us from people who preferred soup ramen only to now wanting to come back to try some of the other options.

Cozy interior and excellent friendly and attentive service. We ended up eating outside since we had a dog. The original karaage chicken was flavorful, moist and had a medium crunch to it. Pan fried gyoza came out hot, and was good. Egg appetizer was flavorful. Miso soup was good with quite a few chunks of tofu and seaweed. The homura aburasoba and the amakuchi looked very pretty before mixing, then u mix it for 20 seconds to get the sauce all over the noodles. Plenty of each ingredient. Both dished had delicious flavor, noodles cooked perfectly. Everyone enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. read more

Not bad but not that good either. Hefty price for this place or maybe I don't go out that much anymore and the prices going crazy. It's a no soup ramen, so the seasoning doing all the heavy lifting. It's ok if you want to experience it but definitely not for weekly or monthly. read more

Visited this new local spot for soup less ramen. Had the Homura Aburasoba, the original and the soboro (chicken). With a side of ponzu karaage. Was a slightly different take from mazemen but it was still really tasty. Very comforting and the flavors were all really good. Great service and ambiance. Would def come back again! read more

Came for soft opening for lunch today and had the most odd experience from start to finish. Team members were all kind but seemed like everyone had little to none training for this opening day. As soon as we walk in, we get seated but no one greeted us to start the experience. We sat there with menus and raised our hands to order when there were at least 4 foh employees standing next to our table by the register. Our server had no menu knowledge or even know how to pronounce menu item names and said "i don't know how to say it". We asked if theyre honoring the free drink for their soft opening as they posted on their yelp page by their business owner and our server had no idea about it. She asked the owner behind her and she said "no". So that was also false advertising. The meal it self was just okay. Nothing special, outstanding. But because the interaction was so bizzare, we wanted to leave as soon as possible. After we were done, we asked for boxes and bags and they had to even have a discussion with the team about which box to give us and if we can have a bag to their team. No one checked on us throughout our entire meal and when asking for the check, we weren't even shown our receipt but simply told us the total. Once tapping to pay, apparently my tap didnt work and the server said "it failed" instead of simply asking to try again. We just paid in cash and left. If this is day 1, with only one other table dining in.. they will need a lot of work.. retraining their staff esp in customer service and menu knowledge. I ordered both the Original Soba and the Homura Soba, and the Original Soba suited my taste better. The restaurant newly opened last December, and the interior is clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it. read more

Went on Christmas eve, not sure if it would be open but after I came in, a number of other parties came in as well so others had the same idea. I showed the promo offer I received in Facebook. The front staff member didn't know anything about the offer but honored it without a problem. Compared to other brothless ramen places nearby, the karaage chicken was juicier and more tender. Noodles were maybe just slightly less chewy. Portion is still very good though maybe just slightly smaller than the next closest place. There was not an after-noodle rice serving to help really clean up the sauce remains. Very flavorful ramen option and this one is an even more convenient location for me than the next closest place. read more

Tried Kajiken for the first time today. I read that Kajiken is on the Michelin Guide 2025 and I'm glad they finally opened in Fullerton. Everything we ordered was delicious and kids approved! Food we ordered: 1. Ponzu Karaage 2. Ika Geso Karaage 3. Homura Aburasoba 4. Wagyu Roast Beef Aburasoba 5. Original Aburasoba 6. Wagyu Roast Beef Rice Both appetizers are fried perfectly. Our top favorite for the ramen is the Wagyu aburasoba. It's so savory and creamy, and generous portion of the wagyu. The noodle portions are quite big and priced very reasonably. The original aburasoba is really good too, and like they said it's recommended for first time. The homura aburasoba is good if you want it a little spicy. Will definitely come back! read more

The noodle is so chewy and packed with flavor! There are table side condiments that you can add to change the flavor. Rice vinegar in particular really balance the taste and bring the whole dish together. I also got the chashu don, which is decent. The rice is cooked well and the portion of chashu, scallion, and rice is perfect. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is in a large plaza with ample parking. Craving Kajiken ever since moving back from the Bay Area - once we knew that it is opening in Fullerton we did the 45 minute drive to try it out. Hands down worth it - better than the other aburasoba places in town! Surprisingly, I think the noodle texture is better than that at the location in downtown San Mateo, and served hot. Service is friendly and heard that the chef has been trained in the NorCal location as well - so you know the quality is good! read more

We tried the Homura, Amakuchi, and Original Aburasoba. When it comes to Japanese cuisine, I usually find that simple is best, and the flavor of the Original Aburasoba tasted the most like what I'd expect to find in Japan, so the Original is my recommendation! read more
