The best tasting pan asian modern version restaurants here in Seattle. I love the flavors here, the drinks were very strong and went well with everything. If you love fish sauce, then this is the place for you. Good service, noodles were my favorite. Overall, I would come back.

Dining in Kalabaw is like going on a cuisine tour of Southeast Asia - in 2 hours! The chef owner has done well in featuring iconic dishes from several countries in Southeast Asia. Plus the chef's own creations. If you want crunch in your pork, go for the crispy pata from the Philippines. We ordered the appetizer sampler suggested by our server Brian. Sufficient for the 5 of us. The roasted duck curry was a big hit in our table. We also cleaned up the plate of Crying tiger, angus ribeye. The soft shell crab was crunchy. We topped off our experience with the halo halo, the iconic dessert from the Philippines. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was appropriately and tastefully decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are also tables outside with a sculpture of the Kalabaw, (carabao).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Brian was very helpful and solicitous without being intrusive. If you want to save on plane fares and still get a terrific sampling of Southeast Asian cuisine, come to this place!

Kalabaw, a fine dine restaurant meticulously cured by the Chef. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Neat ambience, decent food, being a fine dine space the service is relaxed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Heavy on the pockets - each dish priced + additional separate price for the protein making the overall dish expensive! We had Pineapple Chicken fried rice (the charred fried effect and flavours were missing), Young coconut curry with seafood (was loaded with coconut curry smoothness, calamari, prawns and mussels but we found it too sugary sweet), Begawan curry (highly recommend- loaded with prawns and fragrant rice), Khao sui (crispy fried flat noodles tasted well with the Myanmar curry and boiled hard eggs, the chicken drumstick could have been served in a different format though), Halo Halo dessert was okay(vanilla ice cream on top was super). The cocktails are something worth the shot, each curated for a special experience. I liked Kalabaw for its efforts and quality but unnecessarily exorbitant.

I think this place just likes the upscale dining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The like is too dim and difficult to see the food. Although the table lamp helps a bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the crab fried rice. I highly recommend this dish. After the fried rice, everything is go down the hill. The next dish we have is the Kalabaw Crispy chicken. This dish more like American style sweet and sour chicken. I think it is just average. The next dish is the squid with salty egg. I also think this dish is just ok. The squid volume is kind of lack off. The last dish is a bit better. We have the beef curry with roti. The roti is nice. The curry is better. Overall service just good. Food is a bit slow to come out.

Wow! A Thai restaurant designed for discriminating clientele willing to spend for good experience. It was not traditionally decorated. Instead, there is a full bar, all the American cocktails on the menu, a modernistic prominent logo, and western-style seatings. We tried the lunch menu a traditional pad thai and a "banh canh soup". They were excellently made. Pad Thai was perfectly al dente, not usual for Thai restaurant, perfectly flavored even with tofu as the protein choice. Banh Canh soup has udon-like thick noodles, generous portion of shrimp, and rich and complex broth. Lunch specials came with Thai Ice Tea which was made as a cocktail and topped with whipped cream. Well made too. I will definitely come back for the "Pata", I believe live entertainment will also be coming. This will be a popular place at Belltown.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here for date night with the husband and we were able to sit outside with our dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is quite large and has a lot of nice decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food menu was very extensive and they feature a lot of different Asian dishes. To drink, I enjoyed their Thai ice tea a lot, it wasn't too sweet, just right. For food, we decided to order a few things to share. We started off with the lumpiang rolls, which were basically egg rolls, the sauce that it came with was good. One of my favorite items was the curry puff. It was a curry mix within a puff pastry. We ordered a soup called tom saap gai- it was a sour chicken soup that was soothing. Another favorite dish was the Kalabaw noodles - it had a lot of flavor and umami from the mushrooms. The last dish we ordered was the Yangon curry, which we ordered with roti. Overall, everything here was great. I'd definitely come back here.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Kalabaw is a beautiful restaurant![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was surprisingly quiet on a Thursday evening but it was great for us as we walked in without a reservation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wasn't particularly hungry so I went for the creamy tom yum soup and my friend ordered the papaya salad with the Japanese sea bass. She was surprised that the fish was fried but she really enjoyed it. My soup was tasty but I wasn't able to finish it all. My cousin ordered the roasted duck curry and some fried mushroom appetizer that was surprisingly tasty. The service was not the fasted but it was ok- we had time to chat and it appeared there was only one server for the night. I would eat here again and next time try a curry.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great decor, ambiance and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The duck curry was tender and the right amount of spice. The ube sticky rice was a subtly sweet dessert. I ordered a Thai tea to go which was good; however, they use big ice cubes and add way too much ice. My cup was less than half empty once I took the ice out so that's really disappointing.

Lettuce cups! A bit liquid to eat with your hands, which is where rhe little cups come in.

A must try in Seattle! "Asian fusion" does not do this place justice. Much more adventurous than your average asian fusion. We walked in and the restaurant was empty, which was a bit foreboding, but everything was amazing! The restaurant is huge with tvs on the walls and lighting on the baseboards. The service was great. The menu was very thorough with southeast Asian fare. All the items on the menu have pictures and small icons of flags for the country the dishes originate from, which was a cool detail! We had lettuce cups, gyoza, turmeric curry and sautéed green beans. Everything was super flavorful and divine. We loved the turmeric curry, which was a bit spicy but really different and so delicious. I wish we had stayed for desert! We wanted to meet the chef but he wasn't there. But our compliments to the chef, for sure!

Kalabaw Bar & Kitchen *June 4, 2025 *6pm- Wednesday *4.5 Stars Seating/ Environment: *Street Parking *Nice Staff *Aesthetic Seating Food/Drink: *Chicken Phad-See-Ew Noodles *Kalabaw Noodle Stopped by Kalabaw Bar and Kitchen since it was less than a 5-minute walk from our VRBO--super convenient after a long day. We got the chicken Phad See Ww noodles and the Kalabaw noodle. The dish was a little salty for my taste, but I tend to under season my food. Still enjoyable though, and the portion size was generous. My sister got the Kalabaw Noodles, which was very flavorful and a garlic lovers dream. The server was really nice and even let me fill up my water bottle before heading out, which I appreciated. The inside of the restaurant looked really nice--definitely more upscale than I expected. Pretty sure there's a space upstairs for hosting events or parties, but I didn't get a chance to check it out. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're nearby and in the mood for some flavorful noodles in a stylish setting.

    Kanom-jean-nam-prik
    Vinh M.

What an awesome restaurant, complete with great service, delicious (but expensive) food and cool ambience! I came here under the recommendation of a friend in my group after attending a day rave over at the Space Needle. This was on a Saturday night around 10:30pm, and we got seated at the bar very quickly as there weren't many people eating inside. The first thing I noticed was that the inside is fancy; I felt like I was fine dining the whole time. They also had their happy hour menu until close, which gave me more options on what to choose from. My friend highly recommended their pad thai, and my other friends in the group got that, though I got a taste of it and he wasn't kidding; it's so flavorful and the noodles just feel great in your mouth! Instead I got their kanom-jean-nam-prik, which is a noodle dish that comes with a mung bean curry sauce with a nice peanut taste, along with vermicelli noodles of two different colors and some veggies (string beans, cabbage and sauerkraut). I did notice that the menu says there's a hard-boiled egg as part of the dish, and I did not see any when I got my dish. Even so, this dish was also really good in its own way! I chose to add chicken as protein for this dish, and that made it all the more tasty; everything combined was really flavorful, and I didn't even taste the sauerkraut, which I normally don't like. The only thing I'd say is that the portion was pretty small, and I felt like it didn't justify the $25 price tag. Pad thai was $18 per plate and I also felt the portions of that plate weren't too big either. For dessert, I got their halo halo, which came in a wine cup and was the perfect sweet treat. Eating this, I mostly noticed the ube bits and peanuts after the vanilla ice cream, and the tapioca pearls were my favorite part. Again, it was pretty small, and this was $12 before tax. Presentation and taste are both on point though. Service here is top-notch; my servers were happy to answer some of my questions and also grab utensils, napkins and water, and they really lightened up the mood for me and my group by striking conversations with us. Looking past the hefty prices and my missing hard-boiled egg, this is a really great place! My friends and I have one more place to consider for dinner whenever we hit up the Belltown area. The next time I come, I'm coming for their pad thai!

It's become a part of my personality at this point. I have so much respect for the owners, the way they run their business and their honesty online. No one I've brought here has had a bad thing to say regardless of what they ordered. My go to is: Pull apart bread, crab nachos (with their hot sauce!! which, btw can i buy that by the bottle.. cause YUM) + whatever drink is calling my name (they rotate, but if you can get the pina colada you won't regret it). tldr; you'll regret NOT coming here.

Went here recently for a random happy hour after work, had not been to this place in a couple of…read moreyears. I remembered that their drinks and bourbon selection/pricing used to be incredible. As with all things lately, prices have gone up on some of their rarer pours. The standard basic cocktails though were still reasonable and decently priced for the location. The atmosphere is great and service was pretty quick. The outdoor patio is still there which was a nice addition from 2019/2020 era. Some of their bourbons are still reasonably priced. Their food is pretty good. Would recommend the tacos, the burger, and carne asada. The nachos were not particularly for me, and also seemed to come out cold. Seemed to have cheese sauce instead of actual cheese. It was a cold day however. This place is mainly great for happy hour after work, but will come back and try dinner another time. Staff is great though. Really quaint and awesome spot to post up. good food, good service, good drinks, good selection, and still better pricing than most bars with what they have to offer. Will be going back again sooner. cheers

I promise my review stars are based on the food, and the drink I had but I had to share what…read morehappened musically at this bar. haha The place is so nice when you walk in and has such a COOL and COMFY vibe. I would love to have a nice bar to patronize, but the bar food menu doesn't match bar food vibe. I am curious what dinner would be like here. Whoever owns this bar and whoever is curating this menu is absolutely a music head. No debate. And here's your gentle PSA: please pass that love of music AND hip-hop history to your waitstaff. Because what happened to me... was personal. There are three drinks on the menu that basically scream, "someone in here grew up on hip-hop and never emotionally left the 90s." We've got: ATLiens Aquemini 2 ____ a Butterfly (fill in the blank, but if you know, you KNOW Kendrick Lamar, 2015) Now listen this is not "aqua-mini." This is Outkast. Andre 3000. Big Boi. Southern rap royalty. It is pronounced Ah-kwim-in-eye The waitress looks me dead in my soul and says, "Oh, you mean the Aqua-mini." I was transported out of my body. Now here's the issue: I would've let it go...if a Kendrick Lamar song wasn't also on the menu. Because why are we confidently mispronouncing Outkast while casually referencing Pulitzer-level rap on the same drink list? At that point I realized I was surrounded by people under 34 who had never had to wait for TRL, decode a CD booklet, or defend Southern rap. No one in my group shared my emotional breakdown. Not one gasp. Prices & Drinks (important part): Let's talk about the $18 drink situation. I paid $18 for an Aquemini and received...vibes. Not buzz. At $18, I expect at least a whisper of alcohol. Instead, I got decorative hydration. My husband's Blueberry Smash? Better. More flavor. More personality. So now I'm sitting there thinking: I paid premium pricing for a drink I had to defend and pronounce correctly myself... and still left sober. Food: I was a little hungry and ordered fried shrimp (not on the online menu) The shrimp was fine. Just fine. The dipping sauce tried its best, and I respect that effort. Why is everything either wagyu, mussels, duck, or something you need a culinary degree to pronounce like gruyere but I can't just get a basic bar plate? Wagyu sliders, chicken bites would have been nice because I don't usually go out thinking, "Tonight feels like Wagyu and mussels at the bar." Service: I'm from Los Angeles, so I'm familiar with urban sketchy with a side of vibes. The activities near the parking spaces was very sketch. I was with a group of 8, including my husband so I felt protected by numbers. Inside, it was a Friday night but surprisingly empty. The music was loud enough to feel like a party, but quiet enough that you could still hear each other. We tried to rearrange seating to accommodate our group and the waitress said "I'm not walking around you, so keep this aisle clear." Which was fair, but also, there are gentler ways to say "I need this walkway." Or tell us the better way to set up seating in the empty bar. I didn't have a second drink frankly because I was never asked. Most places I go the waitress will come and ask if I want another drink. I don't live in Seattle, so this was my intro to night time bar life in the city. Sleepless in Seattle? I think in 2026 it's more like Sleepy in Seattle by looking at the emptiness.

We ordered the wagyu fries, which were good but not especially memorable or the best we've had. Overall, it was a simple, laid-back experience with a nice atmosphere.
