I wish it was served with tortilla chips instead of bread (which is nothing special) but never the less it was VERY tasty and had a hint of spice which wasn't too overbearing. The portion was very small for $15 though. The Bourbon Street Fettuccine on the other hand was very very bland. I had to add in my own seasonings and the shrimp and chicken tasted like they had no kind of seasoning. I would not get that again. Overall I would come back, especially if other items taste like the creole dip!

I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars mainly for the excellent customer service. I came here on a…read moreFriday evening with my daughter because she was craving crab claws. Our waitress was very, very nice and personable and knowledgeable. Any questions that I had she always had an answer for and she was very patient with me as I am kind of a picky eater. The crab claws were amazing the seasoning on the crab claws Were a hit. I ordered the redfish Rockefeller and my daughter ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. Let me say the red fish Rockefeller has a distinct taste. It is very overpowering from the fish. It has a sweet onion taste and if you like that, then I would recommend this dish, but I didn't like it at all. Our waitress was very nice and told me to pick another dish. I decided to go with chicken dish. I think it's called Bayou chicken I'm not quite sure but it has a crawfish Louie sauce. I asked for the sauce on the side just in case I didn't like it and I'm glad I did. The sauce is thick, very thick like a gravy and was tasteless. I told her I would just pay for the entrée and not worry about sending it back, but the manager came over and asked me how was the dish and I told her I wasn't a fan but I would pay for it. He said no and brought me the menu again and told me to pick another entrée I was surprised because normally by this time you know, people are over it and, not really willing to please the customer but they were. I decided just to play it safe and go with fried shrimp which came with fries and coleslaw. I'm glad I chose this dish because I really enjoyed it. Also, the French 75 was really really good.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to enjoy the patio. However, I took off a star because not a single staff member shared how things work there! After being told we could sit anywhere, we found ourselves just waiting without any guidance. At last, a server delivered food to the table next to ours, which prompted us to ask why no one had come to us. She was super apologetic and handed us menus while explaining that we need to go to the register to order and pay first, and then we'd get a number for our table. As for drinks, if you want an adult beverage, you have to order those separately at the bar. You'd think there'd be some signage indicating the process since it's a bit different from the usual! But let's talk about the food! We split the shrimp & grits and chicken & pancakes. While I usually prefer my grits creamy, I still found the shrimp mix to be tasty! The pancake was a tad thick for my liking, but the fried chicken was definitely the highlight--it was absolutely delicious! Oh, and the Hennessy Margarita? Totally on point! Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit!

They initially forgot the sauces, but they were kind enough to give us more than enough afterward and even included a free topping for my husband's side order. I didn't get out of the car, but from my husband's experience, the staff was very kind.

There's a big shopping center parking lot with plenty of parking so that's not a concern. It's in more of an older shopping center in an area. That's not very well kept. Either way, we felt safe and wanted to try a new place for dinner. The Restaurant is very colorful and I love that about it. In the photos that I saw online, I didn't realize that the chairs were just covers that had all the beautiful colors but either way it's a lot for the eyes to take in. We arrived on a Friday evening close to 5 o'clock and we were the only ones there until we were just about to leave. I do believe that they have more orders that are picked up by DoorDash and delivery services. I was excited to try the stuffed grape leaves and my plan was to get the hummus with pita bread and add lamb to it for my entrée. Unfortunately, they were out of the stuffed grape leaves, and when I tried to order the hummus, they were also out of the hummus. That was unfortunate, but I went ahead and ordered the chicken Shawarma roll which came with french fries. We both liked our food, which was fresh and flavorful. The fries on my platter don't look appetizing, but they came out hot in seasoned just right! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and place of the stuffed grape leaves that we wanted as an appetizer. They came out hot and fresh and was very delicious. Both of our meals, including one soda for my son was only like $36 which is excellent in today's economy! We both also took some of our food home so the portions are good. Overall a good experience. I'd definitely try it again. It's not one of my top choices with all that Birmingham has to offer but definitely worth coming back to.

I was excited to see that there was one here in Birmingham area. The first time, I ordered pick up as a 3 veggie sampler and got the shiro wot, ater wot, misir wot and added a gomen. When I got home, excited to eat it, all of the separate dishes were MIXED TOGETHER, making a soup-like consistency. With all of the mixing of the different flavors together, it was completely disgsting and inedible. Next, I went with a friend who had never tried Ethiopian to eat dine-in, thinking that hey, maybe it was an issue of getting take out. So disappointed. The food is SO SALTY that all I could taste was salt. Ethiopian food is known for robust, unique flavors and I absolutely love berebere. Couldn't taste any of those spices or flavors. Will never ever go back.
