The bento b cod was rly good!! Its a bit expensive but you do get a good variety and amount of sides for the meal. I got it for the lunch special on a saturday. They also allowed my dog on the patio and gave him a water bowl which was really nice!! The waitresses were super chill too bc i was waiting for 30 min for my friend on accident. 4/5 bc its a bit expensive

We had a reservation for five people for a Saturday night, because we were seeing a show at the theater right next-door. It was a lovely weather night and we were able to sit at a table outside on the sidewalk, which was nice in beautiful Old Town Chicago. I did go inside to use the restroom and the restaurant is also very nice inside with a nice bar. My niece was performing in the show next-door and she was in between shows, and our server kindly asked us if we were in a hurry for any type of show... Because this restaurant is also near to Second City and on busy weekend nights, it was nice that they were making sure that their patrons were able to get to their shows on time. We shared quite a few combos of sushi roll dishes & edamame with the recommendation of our server, and we loved everything. I honestly don't remember which combos we ordered, but there was nothing that we didn't like. We also each had different cocktails and my one friend had a glass of wine and each of the cocktails was very well crafted as each drink was unique and flavorful. As you are aware, ordering sushi, à la carte, and having a group of people ordering cocktails can get pricey so our party of five splitting five or six dishes and having each one cocktail and a glass of wine came to close to $300 with a 20%. I do recommend old town's oldest sushi restaurant.

came here for happy hour! the food was so good and serving sizes were pretty good as well. initially we had really fast service but as we stayed it took some extra time to get our servers attention but that is understandable as it became busy. the interior is really clean and aesthetic. would definitely come back!

Pleasant dining experience at Kamehachi, starting with the Tokyo 75 a light and refreshing cocktail which I highly recommend for French 75 fans. Cocktails were accompanied by a plentiful portion of steamed edamame helped bring some salty balance to the table. After hearing our server's recommendations, we indulged in the summer specials. The overwhelming fan favorite was the spicy tuna crispy rice with an honorable mention for the passion maki, which was actually far more spicy than the crispy rice. I was content with portions and was full after the meal. This is a nice spot for a dinner with a few friends or a date, but be mindful if you have a short attention span - some of the tables are close to each other so you may be inclined to eavesdrop. Great menu for sharing, but I wish there was a bit more variety in the types of rolls offered.

We were planning on going to a whole different restaurant but saw these rolls and had to go in. It did not disappoint! Our server Bo was so friendly and accommodated. She recommended the spicy tuna crispy rice special and WOW was it great! We also got tempura green beans as an app, also delicious. For rolls we got the Mayflower which was amazing and the Summer roll which was very fresh! Their outdoor area was perfect for this gorgeous Sunday afternoon! We WILL be coming back, I have no idea how this place has never been on my radar!

This is a cute spot. Food is decent, and they have comedy shows occasionally during the month. It's a large space. Drinks were only okay but this is a nice vibe for a date night or night out with friends.

We went to the Asian take out comedy show and it was held here at kamehachi. It was on the 2 floor of the place and they offered a special menu for comedy show attendees. The food was thoroughly disappointing. All came in take out containers and overpriced terrible food that i preferred to have Whole Foods take out sushi. Not sure why the regular menu that kamehachi has was not offered. The drinks were good though!

I have to say I really enjoyed this restaurant. We walked here from our hotel and there was a really cute ambience and very cute walk there. The restaurant was bigger than I thought and they were able to see us right away. We had five in our party, including a baby and our waitress was very kind. All of the weight staff were to make sure that we were good and our table was cleared. We started with the shrimp shoe mine, which was great and the tempura vegetables which were also good and not fried too hard or too greasy. I had the mayflower roll, which I highly recommend to order. The people at my party also enjoyed their sushi and we will definitely be back the next time we come to Chicago.

While on a business trip I walked here for dinner. Very cute neighborhood with a lot of nice shops. They had indoor and patio dining. I sat inside. I had the Ebi Shumai and Mayflower sushi. it was delicious - I was hesitant because of the raw tuna but I thoroughly enjoyed my appetizer and sushi. The service was great! Ask for Ishi - she was such an amazing waitress, she was friendly, personable and offered recommendations when I wasn't sure about what to order. This is a great dining spot with a bar and tv's to watch sports. Go check them out when you are in Chicago.

Very yummy food but nothing special for the price. The service was alright but she lost our order so it took forever and then got it wrong. The place is very cool with a great bar and outdoor space. Would try out their happy hour

I ordered some rolls for a lunch out by the lake on a warm day, which I highly recommend! I was not notified when it was ready for pickup, but it was on the table when we walked in. All the sushi was packed together nicely in a single box which made it easy to share. I highly recommend spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls if you like fresh fish. Both the rolls were not too spicy for my taste but had great textures and flavors. I wasn't a huge fan of the tempura rolls because they had a weird county fair old fried taste.

I also really like the Sakegria cocktail! We really liked starting off with the spaghetti. A little spicy but nothing too crazy and really creamy. We were a bit underwhelmed with the Kamo to Momo. We also really liked the Shio Koji Sake but the avocado is definitely the prominent taste. The Kami Jomaki was decent but definitely a lot of competing flavors with some overpowering mint. We also really enjoyed the unagi which was really saucy and bbq-y. The otoro was super smooth and tasty and I'm glad we got it without rice becuase it wasn't needed!

We sat down with a menu labeling out all the pieces we were going to get for the lunch omakase. Each piece had the restaurant's special soy sauce on top that did not overpower anything. I loved that we had two pieces of salmon because I'm a salmon lover. My favorite piece is always the chutoro and it was amazing here. The piece was not stringy and melted in my mouth. The handrolls came out at a really good pace, which we appreciated since it let us enjoy each one fresh. The fish itself was definitely fresh and everything was well prepared. My favorite handroll was the spicy hotate. The otoro temaki was good, but we have had better otoro elsewhere. My husband also got the sake temaki and mentioned that the salmon was a bit chewy.
