Saw this food truck on the corner of 33rd & market while at the light. I looove Korean food, so I pulled over. The woman and an elder were very nice. Today it's 26 degrees out. Supper Colld!! They provided patrons with a nice hot cup of Korean tea with pieces of ginger. I ordered bulgogi and fried dumplings. The bulgogi was tender but lacked a robust flavor. Not enough broth. The rice was bland. I like the dumplings. They were mini so you could pop them in your mouth. They were crunchy and flavorful. I would try something different next time. read more

Surprise to find this little gem! A student guide told us about this food truck and advise us definitely try it. I have kimchi fried rice with chicken ($12) and my friends ordered kimchi fried rice with steak. This is the spiciest food they serve. Yep, it is spicy, almost too much for one of my friends (she said it is right on the border she can tolerate) but I and another friend love it ! The subside up egg is a nice touch and cut down the spiciness. Mix the runny egg with fried rice and yummmm. Nice little local food truck just on 33rd street on Drexel's campus. I would say the overall food truck scene is a bit lacking around the area.... I think it's on chestnut street where there's a bunch of generic food trucks all selling hoagies and sandwiches, with nothing really distinguishing one or the other, though full transparancy I haven't tried those yet. It was a nice change of pace to see there was one that was selling Korean food. Tips before you go, cash is preferred, though they are accepting venmo now in case you don't keep bills in your wallet. The food options are pretty standard, with some classical rice dishes like bibimbap, bokkeumbap, and a stir fried pork on rice. So far I've had the pork and the bibimbap, and the flavors are a bit muted compared to what I've had at some Korean places. Seasoning is a bit light, and not as spicy. But they use nice short-medium grain rice cooked well, and the pork was cooked well too. The bibimbap had a ton of vegetables, which is nice, but again wish I could have the option to add some more spice or a dash more salt. I think overall it's a good option for lunch if you're nearby, and I can see the perspective of not wanting to scare off customers with really fiery food. I'll come back again, but might ask them to make mine a bit more forward in flavor. The wait times can vary depending on the dish, which can be understandable. Prices are fair, though the only thing I'm a little miffed about is 7 dollars for what seems like ramyun. Still, nice to support a small business and the flavors are familiar and comforting. read more

KAMI is an great food truck without a doubt. It offers a handful choices of Korean food, including bibimbap, stir-fried chicken/beef with rice, and hoagies with Korean flavored fillings. The price is at $5-$10 range. As a food truck, KAMI's food is less authentic and less well-made than a couple of Korean restaurants in university city, but you do get the Korean taste. The wait is longer than most food trucks nearby. Also, it seems they streamlined their menu in 2018, so fewer choices than before. Overall, a solid 3-or 3.5-star food truck when you feel like Korean for lunch in university city. read more

This place is my go-to for grabbing a quick lunch during work. I always get the Kimchi Fried Rice with beef (you can also get chicken or tofu instead). For $7, it's a great deal. The portions are very generous with lots of kimchi and beef, topped with a fried sunny side up egg. It's very spicy but so good. I have tried the tteokbokki also, which is spicy and delicious too. I have dabbled in the other menu items a bit, like the bibimbap, but nothing is as satisfying as the kimchi fried rice. Totally recommend getting the kimchi fried rice here! For the price, you can't beat it. Like a typical food truck, they accept cash only. However, they recently started accepting Venmo! So that makes it a lot easier. read more

Oh I struggle with Kami. The staff on the truck are nice as heck, but I'm not jiving with the menu choices. I got the bibimbap since history has told me any Korean "spicy chicken" rice dish probably won't go over well, and I'm physically exhausted from bulgogi consumption. Now, bibimbap isn't my favorite food, but I'll eat it in a pinch, so I was excited to get some cheap and fast food on my way to class. It's definitely not quite the bibimbap I'm used to eating (and rightfully so, I've never had it from a food truck), but I guess it was worth the money. Come to think of it, I'm not exactly sure what one would sell at a truck this size besides ddeokbokki and chicken, so I guess a few rice dishes and ramen is probably all you're going to get. While doing the Night Market journey throughout South Street the new and already fabled Korean taco truck was the first thing that I had placed upon my menu of destinations. Unfortunately while walking around I had found myself happening upon at least 4 of them, proving yet again how quickly some food trends catch on. But fortunately for me I might have just scored the best. A 4 for now because after going through what I could of the menu through the interwebs it looks like I just scored a Night Market special (with how successful it was they probably changed that). But the juicy bulgogi and subtle spices had me in love. And I especially fell in love with the cute family running the truck! And with Udon noodles, bulgogi cheesesteaks, and more on the regular menu I'm definitely ready for more! read more

My favorite Korean Food Truck in Drexel Campus. The girl who was cooking for me is Korean! She's also really nice and we talked a lot. So sad there's no Korean Taco, so I got my Beef Patty. My Beef Patty is delicious and juicy, $8 for big portion. You have the option for sweet or spicy sauce, I chose sweet and it tastes great! I got a lot of rice, veggie salad and a huge beef patty that makes me happy after my exam. The price is a little higher than other food trucks in Drexel Campus, but worth the money. I think the food is even better than Koreana, plus I don't have to walk. Try it out if it's open! Next time I will try the udon noodles soon. 5/5! read more

I'm on a college student budget so I only allow myself to eat out once a week. I was planning on going to Cucina Zapata (another food truck on campus) but my friend recently mentioned KAMI and how the food was worth the price. I remembered my friends being sad when KAMI stopped showing up on campus but I couldn't relate since I never tried their food. Man, I wish I tried their food sooner. I got the spicy chicken and it was like eating mom's home cooked food. I opened the lid and it smelled so good. I just started eating and forgot to take a picture for this review. The chicken was nice and juicy. The spice level was just right and didn't linger too long in your mouth after you swallow. I really enjoyed the sesame seeds on top. The food is definitely worth the price. They weren't busy so I got my food relatively quick. The owner reminded me of your typical ajumma trying to make sure all these college kids eat a nutritious meal. I'm not sure if it's the owner's daughter taking orders but she was very friendly and made small talk. She mentioned wanting to try a new menu but not many people want cold food in the winter. KAMI is an excellent bang-for-your-buck lunch. Their udon noodle dish is a big enough serving for two light meals(or one gluttonous one if you are a big American consumer like I am). They use an excellent spicy sauce and I highly recommend this place. I'm going to take a minute to talk about something very dear to my heart - meat. The beef used here just feels right. It is seemingly devoid of fat but it is packed with tenderness and flavor. When you combine it with the right amount of onion and hot sauce, you will have achieved lunchtime bliss. read more

I got the Veggie Bibimbap and I loved it!!! I ordered the Bibimbap extra spicy and without fried eggs bc i'm vegetarian. The quantity was very filling! I'm a fan of all tacos, and I've attempted to make my own Korean tacos at home, but I can never get them to turn out right. I saw the Kami truck at the Mt Airy Street Fair last week, saw "Korean tacos" on the menu, and immediately got in line. My husband and I wanted to try other things at the fair, so I thought we'd get one order and each have a taco. Poor decision! We should have gotten two orders. They were excellent! Bulgogi, cabbage, some cheese, and some spicy sour cream. Like some of the other reviewers said, it is the tiniest food truck ever. I'm amazed that someone can even fit in the truck, but whatever. This is hands down my FAVORITE place to get food in the ENTIRE city of Philadelphia--food truck or restaurant. I work nearby and come here at least a few times a week, sometimes every day--it's that good. I have never written a review for any food place but I feel compelled to do so for KAMI. The owner is incredibly nice and friendly and the students who help her out are great as well. My favorite menu item is the kimchi fried rice wrap--it has the most pleasant texture and the most delicious, perfect kind of spiciness that lingers in your mouth in just the right way. I not so secretly love Korean food, and was super excited to hear about a new Korean-inspired truck on Drexel's campus. After stepping up, I was immediately greeted and was able to order. Before I could basically pull my phone out to check the time (2-3 mins), I had my food despite it being lunch rush! Nice! As for the udon noodle, it's super spicy and delicious. The udon noodles are cooked well, and the pork is flavorful and a nice texture. Really good lunch cart option in U. City. I've been here twice now, and it's been worth the walk both times. I recommend the bulgogi cheesesteak. It's a little heavy, and the probability of saucifying your shirt is 100%, but it's worth it. The udon noodles are also really good. Again, total saucifictiation of your shirt but worth it. Went here when they were up in Horsham for a food truck day. I live in the city but I am never over in University City so I would never normally be able to try these guys. As soon as I saw them on the list I knew where I was going. I ended up getting the Bulgogi (Beef) Udon noodles spicy ($7) and the tuna, spam, and onion handrolls (2 for $5). Everything was awesome, I like spam so I really liked the handrolls and they were spiced perfectly. The noodles were hardy and the portion was great and the amount of meat was awesome. I ate as fast as I could and the spice was hot but I loved it. I may have to make a trip over to U City to find these guys for a repeat. I was very sad that they didn't have their tacos but there was another taco truck there so the girl said that she didn't want to have the same thing as someone else and that's totally understandable. read more

My friends and i have always been big fans of KAMI, love their spicy Bulgogi. But today a piece of hair was found in the meat of Udon noodles which made our lunch unpleasant. I took it back to the truck, they sincerely apologized and comped me a new order. Even though this incident happened, I would still go back in the future and recommend it to other people. My experience at Kami was extremely positive. I was lucky to walk by Kami and discover that they were only at Temple University's campus for 2 days! I loved this place. In hopes of finding a good place to get some delicious korean food, KAMI is a nice gem among the food truck arena. I've been to utown and koreana and I would say the food there is decent but to me I've had way better. So far I've had the bulgogi cheesesteak and the KAMI patty. The amount of spice on the cheesesteak was just enough to give a nice little kick to the palette before the philly cream cheese swooped in to remind you of the city of brotherly love. The patty with the spicy sauce and kimchi was also a great combination of flavors. If you're a fan of meat and like to try something different then give this one a try. It won't be greasy so don't expect to have that artery clogging effect after finishing the well seasoned meat. This is the type of meal that tastes good without the after effects of feeling guilty that you may have given yourself a shorter lifespan. The Korean-American infused styling of food here is not only unique but also exceptionally well executed. This is definitely a food truck worth trying out once but be warned, you may become a repeat customer. read more

From all the positive reviews here, I simply must assume that they got their act together since I last time I visited. When I was told about Bulgogi, I was thrilled to try it. What I got was far overpriced, and what I got...well, the udon were bland and the meat was gristly and left me underwhelmed in terms of taste. I thought, for a while, that I simply didn't get the cuisine. That was, until I went to KoJa on 38th and had their bulgogi sandwich, which is considerably cheaper and much tastier. I could have lived with KoJa just being that good, until I stepped in to a taste test being held literally across the street as part of the Food Science department's sensory studies. The food was entirely prepared by students to see how their target audience best liked Bulgogi...and every single sample was better than what I had at KAMI. If grad students cooking can beat you, you're doing it wrong. Now, it could be that I just caught them at a bad day but what I had was so mediocre and soulless that I have a hard time trying again when there you are smack dab in the middle of the highest food truck population per square mile than I have ever witnessed. read more

At the suggestion of the owners, I tried a spicy chicken Korean cheesesteak with cream cheese. While I was hesitant about the cream cheese, they steered me in the right direction - it was very tasty. Their hot sauce was awesome - I'm tempted to go back and ask if I can just buy a bottle of that. The bread was seriously lacking - it was way too flimsy, which is disappointing when there are so many amazing rolls in this city.
