Kamitoku reopened their restaurant from ward center to south shore market across the street. Really happy that they are open since I've been a fan since their days in shirokiya and when they had a foodtruck at UH Manoa. Menu has been revamped as they are exploring new concepts. They their own take on the oxtail soup and they have garlic rice plate dishes as well. I came in for the usual ramen during thei soft opening. They used to have a wide variety of ramen flavors but now reduced to 3 ramen flavors. I used to be big fan of the spicy which I'll miss but seabura and the beefy wild is good. I ended up getting the beefy wild. The taste a d presentation of the ramen has changed too. The ramen noodles if I remember correctly were a little thicker but I dont know if its been a while but it does feel thinner which i do actually prefer it that way. They removed some toppings, notably bean sprouts from the ramen. Not really fan of bean sprouts so not a big change I'll miss. The beef char siu was still flavorful as ever, but instead of it being a big chunk of meat it was presented shredded in the ramen. Service was fast and attentive and gad an overall good time. Would come again to try their other stuff on the menu. It was a soft opening, but I hope they add more ramen flavors variety like the spicy ramen, and bring back the way they used to have their char siu as I preferred to take a big bite out of the juicy beef in my bowl.
You've been there, but you haven't been here. After relocating across the street to South Shore Market, Kamitoku is in their soft opening phase with an open air kitchen and revised menu. This brand originated in Tottori Prefecture and is known for its distinctive beef bone broth ramen. Currently they are offering three versions to choose from: Gold, a lighter clear broth, the original Beefy Wild, and Seabura, rich with creamy beef fat and thicker noodles. The chew of the thick noodles is so satisfying and the sliced beef char siu has been replaced with shredded beef. New is an Oxtail Soup in the same beef bone broth and a Otoko Meshi garlic butter rice you can get with crispy ribeye bites, ribeye katsu, and shredded beef char siu. Fast, filling, and tasty. In a sea of pork ramen, Kamitoku wants to convince you beef is king.
Glad Kamitoku made it out of Ward Centre and is now just a hop, skip, and jump away at the South Shore Marketplace. The spot is definitely bigger, but doesn't lose its cozy vibe. We got the mainstay Beefy Wild. Rich, and creamy beef ramen that we know and love. And the Wagyu Ribeye Katsu Box. Crispy beef katsu on a bed of garlic butter rice. Food was great, but the service on the other hand was a just a tad bit rough. No water top ups, and quite a wait to get the bill. Staff was very nice though. I'm going to chalk it up to growing pains for the new spot. Definitely not stopping me from coming back by any stretch.
I have been coming here for several years and really enjoyed the old location. I have also brought and referred numerous friends and family members over the years. Today was my first visit to the new location, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. Before coming in, I tried to place a phone order so I could have my takeout ready when I arrived. I searched multiple websites but could not find a phone number. I assumed the number simply hadn't been updated after the move. When I arrived, I asked an employee for the phone number so I could call in future takeout orders. I was told that the restaurant does not have a phone number. I then asked how customers are supposed to place takeout orders ahead of time. The employee told me to use Uber Eats and specifically said that pickup orders could be placed through the app without the higher pricing/fees associated with delivery. While waiting for my food, I went into the Uber Eats app and discovered that there was no pickup option available--only delivery. I showed the employee what I was seeing and asked whether he could speak with management about enabling a pickup option, since I was simply trying to find a convenient way to order ahead in the future. Instead of helping resolve the issue, he dismissed me and told me to download DoorDash. When my food was ready, he then told me that he "didn't like my attitude" and "don't come back." I asked to speak with a manager. He told me, "I am the manager. Just take your food and leave." When I asked for his name, he refused to provide it. To make matters worse, when I opened my food, there was a hair in the order, and I had to throw the food away. I am extremely disappointed. I was a longtime customer who genuinely liked the old location and had referred friends and family here. I was not demanding anything unreasonable--I was simply trying to find out how to place a takeout order ahead of time. Being dismissed, told not to come back, and then receiving food containing a hair was completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will no longer be recommending this restaurant to my friends and family.
Kamitoku Ramen will be closing soon this month on 6/21/26 because the Ward Centre will be demolished to make way for more condos. I thought it would be just Ward Warehouse but now Ward Centre. Now I'm wondering about the Ward Theatre area. Some have found new locations but I'm not too sure about Kamitoku Ramen. I remembered they were selling from their food truck and one time offered their ramen for $5? When they opened their restaurant at Ward Centre, a bunch of us got in for the $8 ramen with a can of soda. They are always busy so I did order take out one time. I was more interested in the appetizers! Crispy beef gyoza, taro tempura and even garlic tempura. They have tofu prepared in different ways. I still haven't tried their Beefy King ramen with all the items on top! I did try their beefy seabura. I want to try here again especially the appetizers before they close this month.
This has been one of our favorite places to grab a pre-movie night bite at Ward for years. I was so sad to hear that the classic mall where this cozy joint is located at was being demolished in the name of progress, knowing that this place would be gone. Anticipating that they would be closing in a couple of weeks, we made sure to stop by this weekend to get our fix in. I was so eager to dig into my bowl that I ended up forgetting to snap a picture until after I'd already whacked away at it. Luckily, our server tonight told us that there's a good chance that they will be re-opening nearby in the old Scratch Kitchen location, so hopefully we can continue to enjoy this place in a different setting. My go to has always been their Beefy Wild Ramen. If I'm really hungry I'll opt for their Beefy Wild Beast when I want a pile of their awesome cha siu. My girlfriend likes both the Yuzu and Seabura. We both really enjoy their regular and spicy gyoza. There's always a short wait to get into this place, but it's worth it. Service is quick and efficient, and the food is excellent. I hope to see this place again soon, in a new location.
Since trying this place I am a total stickler when it comes to Ramen now. This has probably been our fifth or seventh time to Kamitoku & no other bowl of ramen can compare. My husband & I make it an effort to try out some of their other dishes with our ramen each time we go. But the Namban chicken is my all time favorite unfortunately they didn't have any when we came in yesterday after an hour of opening so if they have it def try it! My husband tried the fried rice lunch combo with his usual Spicy Ramen. It was delicious! I always get their Seabura (side note: I miss having bean sprouts in the ramen but they've discontinued it after our third visit) it's still delicious but I love the crunch it gives when it was inside. The broth is rich & creamy. I would like to try their other Ramens but the saying that goes "If it's ain't broke, don't fix it" is motto I follow when it comes to visiting our favorite places for specific dishes and cravings - this is one of those. The servers are so nice every-time we go & check in frequently while we're dinning in. Food comes out hot & pretty quickly every time - We love coming here!
This is their new location, and the ambiance feels much more rustic compared to the original Asian-themed vibe. Unfortunately, the food quality seems to have gone down as well. The char siu now comes shredded instead of as a whole piece, the egg is simply soft-boiled rather than the ajitama-style egg they used to serve, and the portion sizes are noticeably smaller. Overall, the food now feels more like casual takeout rather than the quality and experience they originally offered. Overall Service is still great
A group of friends + kids came here to Kamitoku Ramen for lunch after our play date at Ward Center. The restaurant space is small overall but they were able to accommodate our group of 13. Menu is pretty straightforward & easy to order from quickly. I ordered the Beefy Wild ramen ($17) which was super delicious. The beef was tasty and tender, and the broth was rich and flavorful. The kids set ($11) was also available which we ordered. It had chicken karaage, fries and a small plain ramen. Food came out pretty quickly & the service was fast and friendly. As usual, lots of free parking up in the structure (for now).
This place ranks in my top 3 ramen ever!! Something about that beef bone broth just hits different. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Service was also great, too!
I'd say, welcome to my current favorite ramen place in Oahu. Not only the price is right but the authentic Japanese flavor of their ramen really takes me back to my Japan trip last year. I always had a great time dining here with some friends and family. Service was fast and their menu is not that extensive keeping me sane every time I order, lol. Keep in mind that this location only has few chairs to dine and it fills up pretty fast. Make sure to come earlier for your convenience. Here's what I've tried from them: - my favorite; no further explanation just ORDER THIS NOW - broth is shoyu light, way too light for me but still savory - savory and tasty - harmonious blend of crispiness and tangy sweet vinegar - perfectly made; perfect topping/side when eating ramen - ponzu on it makes everything this side dish really good - intensely flavored; so rich that it needs rice to absorb the oil on it - fried to perfection; meat not dry at all - savory and addicting; flavor blends perfectly - so good and perfect ending for your meal - intriguing yet I'm impressed; would order this again Overall the experience was exquisitely good. Love the food, love the interior and the vibe feels like I'm in Osaka ramen place. Will surely be back for the nth times. Mahalo for reading and happy juandering fellow Yeeps.
TL;DR Seabura Ramen = ONO (!!!) Damn good ramen. ----- My out-of-town friend and his family were visiting O'ahu and invited me to lunch. They decided on Kamitoku Ramen after catching a movie nearby. Unfortunately, I had ramen for lunch the day before, but I sucked it up and joined them so I could catch up with my friend. And I'm so glad I did, because Kamitoku Ramen is fantastic! I ordered the Seabura ramen, which has officially taken the throne as my favorite bowl of ramen on the island. It was so damn good! The beef-based broth is incredibly creamy and absolutely packed with umami. The noodles were the perfect balance of chewy and springy, and the toppings were awesome. I was especially a fan of the beef char siu and the beef fat bites. The whole dish was just a banger. The broth was unbelievably good. I finished the entire bowl, because I couldn't let that liquid gold to to waste. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu, including their gyoza and rice bowls. But I don't anticipate deviating from the Seabura ramen. It was too good not to order again. Go check it out!
I love the beefy wild ramen here! I love that it's all beef based so it tastes different than most ramen places. The servers are kind and friendly. There was a wait but not too long, but it's worth the wait. There's option of table or counter. There's cow decor everywhere along with a Tokyo vibe. I heard they were relocating after I visited so I'm happy I went!

Amazing restaurant! One of my top ramen restaurants even compared to the ones in Japan! Since I've been introduced to this place, I always bring friends and family who are down to eating at a new ramen restaurant. They've always had positive comments and want to go back. The broth is yummy and the meat inside is soft and tasty. I also like the garlic chip topping and side of egg. The prices are about the same as other ramen restaurants but they offer a lot more dishes. Ambience is hip and cool with small figurines placed on shelves and a big Marilyn Monroe wall art. I love their cross bone logo and cherry blossoms topping the center bar area. It's a small place and sometimes a line but its turn around is quick. Servers are down to earth and place is clean. It looks like the size of a ramen place you'd find in Japan. As for parking, there's parking at Ward Centre or across the street. They open later than the Ala Moana restaurants and late on weekends. If you just want ramen, guaranteed you spend at least $20. Great way to spend time with friends and family!!! read more
My usual ramen place is Gomatei. The tan tan broth is my favorite in Honolulu. And you can't beat their thick rolled pork belly char siu! But I am game for finding a good bowl of ramen and so last night I went to Kamitoku ramen next to Piggy Smalls at Ward Centre. At Gomatei I usually can't eat the whole bowl, and love taking home the leftovers--but I was going to see a movie after and didn't want leftovers, so I ordered the small Tantan ramen, to compare the broths. Shockingly their small ramen --is like kid sized. It came out in this little, little bowl--Just a little bigger than a miso soup bowl. Maybe three bites, six small bites? (Sorry no pics). And the broth--not as deep, rich, nor creamy as Gomatei, sweeter, a touch spicy. Unless you have a really small appetite, or are planning on ordering a bunch of appetizers, I'd recommend ordering the regular size. My meal mate's tsukemen looked better--didn't get to try it. The noodles were thicker--good for holding the dipping sauce. Regrading the charsiu--Gomatei has their pork belly charsiu roll. This place--had a thin piece of pork (but not paper thin, like some establishments). The gyoza--a different kind of wrappers--cooked more like a crispy gau gee and not as chewy or hearty as Gomatei. Nor was it like the small, paper thin wrapped ones that some places serve (not my preference either). This was medium sized. A picture would say a thousand words, but I didn't take one--so look in Yelp's photo section. Sorry Kamitoku--Gomatei is still my go to place for ramen. read more
Upon discovery of Kamitoku's humongous bowl of ramen, my husband insisted we go check it out so that he could try it for himself! We made a reservation and good thing we did, it was packed! We all ordered the Beefy Wild Ramen (my husband ordered the Beefy King) and it was delicious. My mom ordered the small size and we were really disappointed to discover that the small size is actually very tiny. It's a child sized bowl that even would leave a child hungry. When we asked immediately to upgrade her order, the waitress explained that she would be charged for a whole new order. Had we known the size, she would've ordered the regular size especially considering the small portion was half the regular size but a lot more than half of the regular price. My husband's beefy king was indeed a huge portion and he was very content. The beef flavor of the broth was unlike anything I've tried before and we all loved it. It was addicting and I would definitely come back for the broth alone! We also ordered the gyoza that comes with the sauce and it was amazing. We all loved it! read more

Lots of Ono options!! Our last meal (2) cost less than $20, but it was sooo goood, I wasn't that hungry so the chix bowl was perfect. read more
My new favorite ramen spot! It's really good when you can say that after just one time, but wow! I got their seabura ramen, which was a giant bowl filled with perfectly cooked noodles (chewy, bouncy, filling), creamy umami hot broth (nectar of the gods), a perfect piece of soft cooked egg porn, and lots of garlic, green onions and other goodies. I think their bamboo shoots were smoky which was a nice touch. Service was wonderful, we had our water filled, and checked in with plenty but not overwhelming or awkwardly so. They have TONS of pupus, salads and options for non-ramen lovers. I can't wait to go back and try more things. The takoyaki, gyoza and fries looked amazing at the table next to us. And I LOvE intestines so I gotta try that next. And... They have $20 bottles of house wine! Pro tip- get a stamp card to eat your way to a free ramen bowl! I can't wait to return. read more

A friend recommended Kamitoku so we headed there on a week night around 7 pm, food was great so I brought my parents a week after and it wasn't a good meal. Difference was very noticeable, not sure why the noodle texture and broth were that different a week later. First time around, ordered the Spicy Ramen, Seabura and Spicy Butter Tsukemen. Asked the server if it'd be possible to get thick noodles for the Spicy Ramen and they said they were able to yay! For the Spicy Ramen broth, it looked like it was just water, oil, and chili pepper flakes mixed together + another scoop of chili pepper flakes thrown on top. The meat was extremely tough, we all have to use our fingers and teeth to rip it to eat. Do not recommend the Spicy Ramen! Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but the Seabura and Tsukemen were delicious! Seabura broth was really good, and Tsukemen was what I planned on ordering next time. The next week, my parents and I order 2x Seabura and a Tsukemen. The Tsukemen noodle texture was off, and the Seabura came out cooled down/not hot!! The noodles were also not fully cooked and broth was too salty for them :( My parents kept trying to finish their ramen because I originally told them that the ramen here is good, they didn't tell me till after we left /: They both ate less than half their ramen even after working a 12 hr shift without any food. read more

Beef musubi tasted great, the rice was nice and soggy-ish with a bit of al dente bite, the beef itself was a bit tougher than the beef inside the beefy wild ramen but it was still nicely slow-cooked and delicious. The garlic crunch on the top was great for some extra texture and savory flavor. I still greatly prefer their beefy wild ramen, but this is nutritious and tasty for a $5 price point! ;)) read more
I enjoyed my experience at the Kamitoku Ramen at the Ward Center. The ramen was solid, and the service was great. There's plenty of parking, and when we went, there wasn't too long of a wait, although I hear it can get busy. I ordered the combo, beefy wild ramen, and the deep-fried (beef) nanban gyoza. I didn't know what a nanban gyoza was, but it has ground beef, diced beef chasiu, and beef fat with a sweet shoyu vinegar sauce. Overall, pretty good! Also tried the small beef fried rice, which was pretty small lol! Better off getting a bowl of ramen. My mom doesn't like to eat broth that is too salty, so they were nice and accommodating and were able to add more water to the broth to make it less salty, which we appreciated! read more
Came here during their Anniversary Weekend after first dining at their sister Hot Pot site the other week - Ward is their Ramen site. It was Friday, around 7pm and everyone came here to celebrate their anniversary. We added our party of 2 on the waiting list... 20 parties ahead of us. 45min wait wasn't too bad. They handled the crowd well (quaint place seats about 50) and staff was friendly/welcoming. Ordered 2 bowls of their Anniversary ramen, gyoza and a beer. Food came quickly. Gyoza was deep fried with a nice, juicy filling - delicious. Bowls arrived with all that noodles hidden under this savory beef broth (Beefy Wild is a bit creamy) - perfection. We loved the flavors here, and will return. So glad to see Kamitoku doing well... cheers to many more anniversaries. read more

Our go to ramen place when we come to town... it's between here & Menya Le Nood down the street, but today we felt like having the beef broth base type ramen. I decided to be different and tried the tsukemen rather than my normal shoyu ramen with extra fat & seaburra topping, I have to say this was a good tsukemen. My husband got the seaburra ramen he was happy...& today they brought out our fried rice first, yay, happy for that. We like to start with that as an appetizer before the noodle dishes come. All in all service was prompt & we will be back again. read more

This is the first time I'm gonna say this, this is my Favorite ramen place in all of OAHU! Everything is tasty! From their broth to their noodles and to their food options! Mostly have beef broth or beef meat. They also have vegan options! Service is really amazing! I have no complain, I've been here more than 10x and their service never fails! They also have an option to order and pay thru barcode which is making everything easy and quick! Tiny spot but definitely have a good and cute ambiance. Small spacing but great food and good service! They have all sorts of menu items to make any customer happy with ramen -- kids, big eaters, vegetarians, meat-heavy eaters and also other items like gyoza, char siu, beefy adobo, deep fried oysters, fried chicken, stewed beef, okonomiyaki fries, tako yaki, squid karaage, and horumon yaki (beef intestines). I was on the fence between the beefy wild ramen the seabura but after speaking with the waitress, I decided to get the seabura ramen. The broth was very flavorful and the meat was very soft and tasty. I also got the horumon yaki and it was tasty but overdone so it got hard. The dish was mainly cabbage and could've had more intestines for $14, but it was still tasty and not sure of many other places you can get this type of dish at. There was the $28 jumbo ramen that comes with char siu, chicken karaage, sprouts and cabbage. This could easily be shared between two people which the waitress was very happy to give another bowl without an additional charge. There was quite a big portion of cabbage and the noodles ran out quite fast so maybe order another side of noodles if sharing. Overall broth was tasty but probably easier to get two ramens rather than sharing, it only adds a couple dollars more. I would definitely come back again! read more

It's my family and I first time trying Kamitoku Ramen. Beefy Wild Ramen with a creamy beef broth. The soup base was very tasty and the noodles were good but nothing I haven't tried before. Shoyu Lite Ramen was definitely a lite broth with a subtle taste. Beef Deep Fried Gyoza had a crunchy outside and tasty meat in the inside. They also drizzled mayonnaise and green onions. Not sure if I would order this again. It was too much mayo. I would like to have it plain next time. The service was good. Nothing to complain about. It was a small indoor dining area. The wait wasn't too long. Our order came quick. I like that they closed at 10pm. I would like to try Seabura Ramen next time. read more

Delicious - and all at a reasonable price. I like coming to Kamitoku because it's easy to book reservations through the Yelp app. I got the beefy wild (small size) and it was the right amount of food. The large comes with an egg, however, the small does not have one. Ramen eggs are my favorite so next time I'll get a large bowl. The broth of the ramen is savory, but not overpowering. Beefy wild is what they're known for, so definitely try that. I had the chicken karage and takoyaki for the appetizers. The chicken is good - just the pieces are very big. It's cute how the restaurant used Halloween themed basket liners for the fried chicken. You have to see the picture below. This was a nice touch and just has me so excited about the holiday season. The takoyaki was good. Pieces are big but wish it was a little more crispy. Their takoyaki is a little softer, which some people prefer. But I like mine on the firmer side. Overall, this is a great place for casual and aesthetically pleasing meal. read more
The ramen scene in Oahu is quite impressive. When I did a quick Google search, there are over 50 businesses on Oahu and many of them offer ramen as their main item. I've heard of Kamitoku Ramen (KR) before, as they first came to the islands back in 2014 and have been at previous locations of Shirokiya Japan Village Walk and food trucks in Waikiki, UH Manoa and Don Quixote. KR is unique as it boasts gyukotsu, or beef broth, rather than your traditional pork or chicken broth. KR hails from Tottori Prefecture and was founded in 1949 and has also opened a restaurant in Ginza (Tokyo) in 2010. I recently finally tried KR as favorite nephew by default wanted to eat here on his birthday. It was another busy day at work where I ended up taking a nap and woke up just in time to make it to Ward Village for our 6pm reservations. I remember this location as it previously Agu Ramen as we previously sat at the counter table in the middle of the restaurant - - the layout looks the same. KR has been at this current location since March 2021. Prior to arrival I pursued the menu and was planning on ordering their popular Beefy Wild Ramen in the spicy version but wasn't feeling that great, so I ended up changing to the Beefy Yuzu Ramen, something lighter. We also ordered the fried chicken and squid karaage as appetizers. The appetizers arrived first and the squid karaage was the better of the two. It was served piping hot with great texture and seasoned well. The fried chicken was marginal in my books. I've had way better at other establishments. My bowl of ramen was one of the last ones to be delivered in our group of 7. Prior to my bowl arriving, I tried the beefy broths and perhaps I wasn't feeling well but I didn't care for it. I tend to be a traditionalist as I enjoy tonkotsu broth and the gyukotsu wasn't to my liking. I didn't bother trying the tsukemen as 2 family members order it, as the dipping sauce appeared to be heavy. My yuzu version was indeed lighter, and the ramen noodles were cooked perfectly. However, I didn't care for the beef char siu at all. It was semi-dry and lacked the succulent factor you get from pork. After one bite I gave it away to the nephew where he devoured it. Furthermore, my ajitama was overcooked and the yolk didn't ooze. The noodles portion was on the small size for the price of $15. Afterwards, I looked at the menu again where you have the option of adding more noodles and toppings. Your bowl of ramen can easily go up to $20 when doing so. My sister and BIL ordered the Beefy King )$29) to share as an impressive, large bowl of ramen was brought to the table, only to realize the mound consists of cooked bean sprouts, a vegetable that I'm not a fan of. But then again, I remember the article of Via Gelato where they had to close their Ward location due to the high rent in that area. Service was average. Indeed, KR was busy with a full house and a handful of people waiting outside for dine in. I heard the iPads ring every so often for those ordering food online for pick up or delivery. Indeed, KR has a strong following. Overall, I am glad I tried KR, but it just wasn't for me. Perhaps I wasn't feeling that great where I could have enjoyed a longer afternoon nap. I'm keen for a return visit to give KR another chance but not soon. read more

Had a great lunch at Kamitoku Ramen today with my gf and little sister. My sister and I had the Seabura (always a hit) and my gf had the Miso Ramen. Always need to start with the Kakugiiri Chasiu Bowl. We also tried their new item, the Kamitoku Tacos. We thought they were fantastic, it's like gyoza and street tacos fused together. Jeremiah made them for us (his own creation) and we really enjoyed talking to him after trying them. Very impressed how inclusive their working environment seems in terms of creativity. The service at this location is always great and I think this is my favorite spot in the Ward area now. Highly recommend the #1 Ramen joint in the islands read more

Beefy wild! This ramen is beef! So that alone makes it very different. I've been a fan ever since they had their lunch truck in Waikiki. Then they moved to a stall in Shirokiya. They should offer smoked brisket as char siu oh my... The spicy beefy is really good too. It does have a cumin spice taste to it, so to me it tasted more Chinese if that makes sense. My co-worker thought it tasted more Mexican. Well a bunch of cultures use that spice, but not Japanese food. I thought it was good though. The gyoza and ginger tofu was good as a side. This place was awesome . We wanted to eat next door but it was closed , what a win for us . It's a cute little ramen shop that's decorated with 80s stuff and Marilyn , so pop kind of . We sat at the counter and had fast service . We both got lunch combos which were gyoza and ramen . My steamed gyoza were super good . Really great sauce on them . I paired it with a Beefy King ramen bowl . It had a great flavorful broth that was creamy but had no dairy . Big pieces of grilled steak in it . It's a great fast meal in a good location . I think I had been to Kamitoku Ramen when it was in Shirokiya at Ala Moana, but didn't remember how it was. We went to the new one located at Ward Center. We tried a few appetizers: takoyaki, fried gyoza and fried gobo. Then we had the beefy wild ramen, which was really tasty. I would recommend this one. I frequent Kamitoku due to its location which is an easy walk from TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack. It's located outside of Ward Center. Parking: You can park at Ward Center, but the stalls are a little small and maneuvering their structure is a bit tight. Personally, I prefer to park accross the street at Ward Village. Pro tip, just drive straight up to the 4th floor and above at busy times. You can park right next to the elevator and just go straight to the ground floor or stop at TJ or Nordstrom on the third floor during the way down. Food: Main dish (~$12-16) Overall their food is very flavorful and delicous. What is unique is that their dishes are beef based, including the broth. Typically, you see pork based ramen dishes. The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to my personal preference. I do find the dishes to be a bit bit rich and just a tad too salty for my profile. I think generally other palattes would have no issue with this. Menu is pretty large. Their lunch time daily specials is a great deal. You can do a ramen and side dish combo. Service: Service is five stars. Very kind and responsive workers. They have the option to order and pay via mobile device, however, staff is readily available to take your order. I attempted to try this place a couple of months ago, but the waitlist was outrageously busy. I told ourselves, maybe we'll try again next time. Finally, the time came when our friends told us they wanted to take us here to try their ramen. And this time, Yelp is fantastic to have a reservation option through the yelp app. Our friends knew that we would enjoy the broth and just the flavor of the food. I can say they were not wrong at all. Hands down didn't disappoint and were super delicious and so good! They are located at the Ward Center Village with many parking options. My husband and our friend had the Beefy Seabura Ramen, I haven't tried it myself, but how he described it - he was delighted! As for me, I got Beefy Tsukemen Ramen which is a soup and noodles separated, and you dip the noodles inside the soup and eat it. This reminded me so much about Japan and how I enjoy eating noodles like this. I was amazed at how rich and good it was! 5/5 for me and ill be getting this again! Our other friend had the Beefy Shoyu Ramen, and she also liked it! Their broth and all their food are spots on! Awesome lunch set w gyzoa and ramen combo (or karaage). The spicy ramen really hit the spot with a nice level of spice. The tan tan was medium spicy as well. We enjoyed the lychee Nigeria sake and the beef Sui gyoza. Restrooms are in the mall. Great service w water refills. read more
Home of the ramen; what's your beef? Most ramen places offer pork, shoyu or miso as their base but Kamitoku is all 'bout that beef (gyu-kotsu). I appreciate good broth and yo, their broth is amazazing. I'm talkin rich, creamy, savory beefy umami flavaflav. And their char-siu is tasty and tender with soy sauce flavaflav. The noodles are cooked to a good consistency and has a nice bite to it. The soy sauce marinated egg was just as delishness. With the remaining broth you can order rice to it to make it into a risotto so you can enjoy every last drop of their broth. I came here back in 2021 with friends and recently(Aug '23) with my mom. I ordered the beefy wild both times and Mm, it is a memorable bowl of ramen. It's new, it's fun, it's different(to me); nobody else has a ramen like it (except for the other 2 locations in Japan). I like how they give detailed descriptions of the ramen so you know what to expect. My friends ordered the tan tan, yuzu and shoyu ramen. And they all quite enjoyed their bowls. The friend who ordered the yuzu ramen said it was unique and different in a good way. During my initial visit, I was able to try their takoyaki and it was very nom-worthy. You can never go wrong with fried batter balls with octopus. When I came here with my mom, she ordered the beefy wild and I went with the lunch combo that included your choice of gyoza or a beef bowl (available 11am-230pm). I chose the deep fried gyoza and it was piping hot but delicious. My mom is usually is hard to please with foods that I recommend but she liked her ramen. She said "Mm, good". Nothing more, nothing less. They have a variety of other items that not a lot of ramen shops offer such as a beef musubi, cold tofu with ginger sauce, okonomiyaki fries and garlic teriyaki beef intestines just to name a few. They have a selection of whiskey, sake, wine and shochu (Japanese distilled spirits) to pair with your appetizers and ramen. The restaurant is on the smaller side so be prepared to wait a little if you come during lunch. The Covid plastic screens still separate some tables. They post additional items they offer on them and they give a little privacy between tables. No conditioned air so be prepared to sweat a little whilst you enjoy your hot ramen and good luck to you if it's spicy. They're located at a shopping center and the shop faces the street. Parking is in a small, low garage with narrow spaces fyi. Overall, a must-try if you're a lover of ramen. Good food and service was quick! Be prepared to wait if you're with 3 or more people. read more

Really like that they have beef broth soup base. Decided to order the king sized bowl and try to finish it in 20 minutes. FYI - it's a huge order fit for two! Settled on this place after wandering around the Ward area hunting for something to eat. I like that this ramen/tsukemen shop was beef based! It was a nice change from what I'm used to from the local ramen shops. The broth was a complex salty and savory, perfect for dipping my chewy noodles in. There's a little bit of heat in the broth that hits you unexpectedly fyi, but it's delicious nonetheless. The beef was very tender and I could see myself ordering a side of it in the future. I was very happy to see intestine on the menu as I find it difficult to get locally...understandably not in high demand here as in Japan. Ramen won't taste ever the same again! My friends and I came here on a whim, looking for a spot that was open after watching the sunset in Waikiki Beach and was wonderfully surprised with our experience! Food: 5/5 + Beefy King Ramen Based on our waitresses' recommendation, we opted for the Beefy King Ramen bowl ($25), which was meant to be shared among 3-4 people. I can definitely tell you that the portions were massive and enough to share, especially with the vegetable assortments (cabbage, bamboo shoots, string beans, etc.) I do think the noodle amount could have been increased. Taste wise, I fell in love with its signature Gyu-kotsu (Beef Bone Broth) Ramen! I'm not usually a fan of ramen because of how heavy and dense it is, but the beef bone broth was incredibly light and rich in sweet umami flavors and aroma. The broth paired deliciously with its soft hand pulled noodle and tender beef slices. The running yolk of soft boiled egg only elevated the experience and hit all the right spots. To this day, I'm still thinking about that ramen bowl. And it makes me sad I can only find Kamitoku either in Hawaii or Japan. Please consider making a branch in California!!! Service: 5/5 Service was 10/10. We were near the kitchen closing time (9:30pm), but the restaurant graciously made space to accommodate us. In addition, the waitresses were friendly, attentive, and more than happy to share their recommendations. I also appreciated that when one of us mentioned our phone was dead, our waitress helped us out by offering to charge our phone during our dinner. Ambience for the restaurant is clean, bustling, and casual, with the staff creating fun Japanese music playlists to accompany. Love their fried rice!!! Good flavor! Even had some charred bits in there that made it crispy. The char siu added good flavor. Well seasoned! Been looking for a good fried rice on the island. And I think I have found it!! Also, want to add on that I did go on another day and I ate the tsukemen again. It was much better flavor and did not have the smell. Hope to be back again when I gotta get the fried rice! read more
