ALPHA AUTO CENTER IS THE WORST. STAY AWAY!!! I took my BMW in for a simple oil change, and the shop told me that the technician initially began putting in the wrong oil but caught the mistake in time and corrected it. After visiting this sad excuse for a shop, my car started leaking oil and emitting smoke. They ran a diagnostic and claimed my valve cover gasket needed to be replaced. How I went from needing an oil change to requiring a new gasket made no sense, as my car had only 65k miles and had never had any issues before. Foolishly, I let them fix my car, and they replaced the valve cover gasket for over $600. However, my car still leaked oil and continued to smoke. They offered to keep running diagnostics, but I didn't trust this mechanic anymore. They had already done enough damage. A year later, my valve cover is broken. I took it to a certified mechanic who specializes in BMWs, and they said the person who replaced my valve cover gasket should have replaced the valve cover as well. The repair had been done improperly. Now, I have to replace my valve cover, valve cover gasket, and additional parts for over $2,000--all because I wanted a simple oil change. I never had an issue with my vehicle before I came here. Please stay away if you value your vehicle. read more

I'm glad my review is delayed for over a year for the 1st issue because now it truly bears weight to the professional 2nd opinion of Alpha Auto! I've taken in my 14 y/o, well kept SUV to Alpha Auto for a total of 3 occasions since early 2024, with the first time being to get a 2nd opinion on my timing cover and the rear main seal (1st opinion was over $4k), the 2nd time was to investigate why my check engine light was on and the 3rd time to have my lift gate hydraulic replaced. I was both relieved and miffed when David told me the issues were thoroughly checked over the 1 1/2 days my car was kept, driven, tested and found nothing wrong with the timing cover or rear seal and told me I could come get my SUV. Early this year, my check engine light turned out to not be an issue @ all. No charges for either of those inspections! I'm miffed @ the fact that the other auto repair wanted to charge me over $4k for unnecessary work and had me in a quandary about whether to sell this vehicle and get a new one. Finally, I had Alpha give me a quote to repair the rear lift gate. The $1k quote received for the work I THOUGHT would be needed (based upon the 1st quote a year ago from another auto repair shop) was higher than the 1st shop, HOWEVER, David gave me a workaround option that only cost me under $200.00 stating that this option would do the job of holding up the gate (those head chops with the falling gate were getting to be a real nuisance ). So, here I am today over a 18 months later happily driving my reliable car without having to spend money on unnecessary repairs. That speaks to their honesty and integrity to me as a great place to take your vehicle! Don't come here. I have just gotten married and am pregnant with my first beautiful baby, when we needed to take my little black car to this place. The communication was not there unless we called or went up there, after my bill already being $1,000 they decided to "fix" three different small meaningless parts to add on over another $1,000 without calling, texting, emailing, then after they racked up the bill they told me I needed an entire new engine which i now had no money to buy. They did absolutely nothing to try to let me know they were going to take advantage of a young newly married and pregnant girl. read more

I will continue to leave bad reviews until my screen is fixed. I brought my car to this shop about a year ago to get my headlights fixed. It took them 3 tries to fix my headlights. My display screen was working perfectly fine when I brought them my car to work on. However, when I picked it up, my screen was completely broken. I told the manager David, he refused to take responsibility even after I brought it up multiple times. My car was in their care and I picked it up with the screen broken. I had just got the car. This is going to lower my resale and/or trade in value. And it's just plain out embarrassing. I should not have to come up with hundreds of dollars to fix my display screen after already paying them hundreds of dollars. DO NOT go to this place. Can't speak to the quality of the work done here, but as many of the other low reviews here reflect, I can speak to their pricing and how they do business. Fake or not, at least everyone was friendly over the phone or to our faces. Not only does the place overcharge quite a bit, but they'll double dip into those costs as well (I'll explain later in the review). Essentially, I had my oil changed here in my truck a few months back. I brought my own oil and filter, and I was quite surprised by how much they charged me for the service. Yet, for some reason, I recently decided to schedule an appointment for my wife's car. I requested an estimate for a tire rotation, a tune-up, a brake inspection, and an oil change. I was quoted at roughly $500!!! I contacted the place a day or two before our scheduled appointment and advised them that we'd be bringing our own parts (cabin/air filter, oil, oil filter, spark plugs, etc.). The service writer I spoke with advised me that they were pretty busy and that she'd update me with an updated quote before our dropping off the vehicle. Sure enough, the day comes and my wife drops off the vehicle, but they didn't have a quote ready, so they told us they'd call us before they started the work. When they did call, I was now quoted roughly $400!!!! When I asked why so much and inquired how much they were charging for labor, I was advised that they were "a business and still had to make money" and that the labor was $129/hr. Aside from going to a dealership, $129/hr is already on the extremely high side for automotive repair labor. I know a lot of auto shops have computer software programs or a "flat rate" guides that estimate labor costs, but I have no idea how they got that number for labor costs because my research was nowhere near the amount of time they were quoting... and here is where the double dipping on labor costs comes in... When I asked the service writer to break the labor costs down for me, I decided to hold off on a portion of the work and just wanted a quote for the tire rotation and swapping out the spark plugs because these aren't exactly easy for me to do at home. I was quoted roughly $350!!! Mind you, again, we brought all our own parts. It was my understanding that the tire rotation was about $20, so they were basically estimating over two and a half hours of labor to swap out the spark plugs. Even the manufacturer's website only estimated approximately one hour for the service requested. Moreover, when the service writer was breaking down the costs for me she quoted me at $38 to swap out the air filter. I reminded her we had provided our own air filter, and she told me that was the cost of the labor to install it. When I informed her that the technician literally has to remove the air filter housing to access the spark plugs anyway, she advised me that "we have to pay our technicians." Hence, the double dipping on labor costs. The air filter is also extremely accessible in this vehicle and it only requires you to pop two tabs, open the housing, and perform the swap. It would take a layperson less than two minutes to do it themselves. After getting off the phone with the service writer I was so annoyed I just decided to take the time out of my day to do all the service myself. We went and got the vehicle and I brought it home. I gapped and swapped out the spark plugs in roughly an hour. Again, they were going to charge me two and a half hours' worth of labor. I am not super mechanically inclined and I assure you my garage is not nearly as equipped as their auto shop. In total, it took roughly an hour and a half for the tune-up and oil change at home. The place we initially bought our tires from performed the brake inspection and tire rotation for free. They have to pay their technician too. ;) This was kind of the icing on the cake for me. Not to mention when I brought my truck in for an oil change months back the technician smacked my side mirror on the pillar backing out of the bay. He pretty much shrugged it off when it happened. My truck was brand new, three months old at the time. The damage buffed right out, but still a little careless with other people's property. They say a person's biggest financial investment aside from their home is often their vehicle. I know everyone has a hustle, but this is price gouging at its finest and bad business practices to me. They seem to take advantage of those "not in the know." Please check in with someone you can trust, that is somewhat familiar with the industry before agreeing to a quote here. They had our vehicle for over 2 weeks, and claimed to have fixed the issue with our suspension in our Mercedes. My husband crunk up the vehicle and the suspension malfunction light is on and the vehicle is still low to the ground! What did you fix? The vehicle is left to fix again. Oh, it's another issue. Well, I'm certain you never ever touched the vehicle at this point. Picked up the vehicle today. Why is there an entire engine cover in my trunk? Oil is now on items in my trunk? So you assessed my oil leaks and never replaced my engine cover? I have placed it on the trashbag to have them fix immediately in the morning. Update: Thank you for correcting the issue. read more

I brought my car to get fixed. He told me it was $900. I didn't wanna spend the $900 and I said I'm gonna sell it. He told me he can get a couple of thousand dollars for it. He told me he had interested parties that would want to buy it to bring the title. I trusted him and signed my title and left blank to whom it was going to.....big mistake. I called him to see if the van got sold. He told me he sold it and he didn't make money off of it. I told him why didn't call me. He said he had to put more work into the car which was over $2000. That's not what he told me initially. He never called me so he actually lied initially now he said he gave it to one of his mechanics and they paying him little by little. I trusted this mechanic to do what he said he was gonna do. I did not get any money for my Toyota Highlander. I shouldn't have signed my title. He LIED to me and got my Toyota Hylander. I'm a single woman trusting this mechanic and this is what he did. I leave him in Gods hand. A lesson learned read more

Alpha's owner and manager seemed upset that a potential customer decided to take their vehicle elsewhere after hearing the price of work was 1/2 as expensive as other estimates they received. Alpha tried to hold hostage the car of the couple checking out in front of me - even though they didn't perform any work on the vehicle - over a "check out" fee that was never disclosed to the customer. I am always a little uncomfortable with trying a new place to work on my car .I took my son in law's suggestion and Gave Alpha Automotive a try . They were excellent in every way I would hope. They diagnosed my issues quickly , even sent photos , and gave me a price that was fair . I went there to get my Jeep aligned. After they said it was as good as they could get it. So I paid the money but when I left it was not any better than when I dropped it off. Then I rescheduled to get them to realign it for free. This time they said I needed ball joints. They told me to replace my ball joints then they could align it again. Today I go in there and they tell me since I messed with my ball joints they would have to charge me. Knowing how they thought the first time it was aligned, I did not want them aligning my vehicle at all. I don't recommend coming here. read more

This place doesn't just do emissions they are awesome mechanics! I honestly have dealt with some really crooked mechanics before finding this gem! Its like stepping back in time....the people there are actually honest and know what in the hell they are doing. A classic example of how awesome they are I went in a few months back to have some work done to my car. They gave me a reasonable estimate and I agreed to have the work done. When I came in the next day the lady up front informed me that they actually came in *gasp* BELOW estimate. Most mechanics even if they come in below estimate will still charge you the amount initially agreed on. These folks are as honest as it gets folks. They remember me every time I come in and its nice to find a mechanic that takes the time to get to know its clients. I would recommend them to anyone in the Cobb/Paulding area! read more

For as long as I've needed car repair, I've never had service like this. Alpha is the most reliable repair center that I've ever encountered. My issues began with making the mistake of purchasing a vehicle from Car Max... and then trusting them to do the repairs that they have documented and attempted to collect payment for. When I purchased my suv, there were a few things that were noticeably wrong with it, and I brought my vehicle in to their mechanics at the Lithia Springs location 3 different times. My issues were, brake pads needed replacing, rotors needed replacing, the heating element in the passengers seat needed replacing, the struts were bad, the a/c isn't working properly, the filters needed to be replaced, the arm for the rear window was broken, paint chips were in a few spots. Here is what Car Max did, replaced the arm for the rear window, kept the suv for 4 days for the touch up paint. That was all, even though the suv had been with them several times for the other repairs... they just weren't done. I drove around for approx 5000 miles with brake pads that were worn, rotors that were rusted and simply turned instead of being replaced, everything else was left as is. During my time with Alpha, they ran a diagnostic to further detect what was going on... of course Car Max tried to say that the vehicle passed their 125 point inspection... I don't believe that and that I drove my car into having bald tires. The vehicle was passed over and no one at Carmax wants to take ownership of their wrong doing. Alpha on the other hand has turned my nightmare into a very joyous occasion. Between working with Jess and David... this has gone a lot smoother than expected. I made several requests and they have honored them all. Jess also goes the extra mile to ensure that we felt valued! Anything that went wrong throughout this process was all on the shoulders of Carmax. I would recommend Alpha to everyone that ever needs service. They are excellent in all areas and diligent in seeing the job through to completion. You can leave your vehicle with them and rest assured that when you pick it up, you'll be good to go.
