Stopped in our way to the Keys on vacation. We normally go to Larb for Thai food in this area but we didn't want to wait 30+ minutes for a table. This place exceeded our expectations. The service was great and efficient. We each ordered tea (thinking we would get an individual tea kettle or something of the like). Instead, the tea bag was wrapped around the mug like you'd make at home. I know this is picky but just not what we expected. Most of us got one of the lunch specials and each were very good. Two of us got the papaya salad mild and it was SPICY. Like fresh chilis hot and almost too spicy to finish. I got the fried rice mild and it was spicy but not unbearable. My dad likes spice, and having one of the medium curries was just what the doctor ordered. The waitress did warn him that the medium would be hot, but just something to beware of if you are sensitive to spice. If I could give 4.5 stars, that would be most fitting. Love the Ambiance and great music at Kan's Thai Kitchen! The staff are all friendly and super helpful...even reminding me that lunch menu was ending at 3PM if I still wanted to order from it. This time I just wanted to order off the regular menu as I was craving some Tom Kha Gai Soup as it was cold & damp outside. It was just the right amount of heat as I ordered it Medium. Say Hi to Thai Kan's Thai Restaurant in Miami was a wonderful spot for our dinner. We had a table booked for seven, and everything--from the service to the food--was handled beautifully. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is well decorated with a warm, inviting vibe, and its easy location with available parking made it convenient. We started with sushi and spring rolls, both fresh and nicely prepared. The flavors were clean, and the presentation was simple but appealing. The Thai iced tea was delicious and perfectly sweet, a great match to the rest of the dishes. For our mains, we ordered Panang curry, Dunkan noodles, and basil fried rice. Everything tasted good, but the standout dishes for me were definitely the Dunkan noodles and the Panang. We stopped into this cute little place that has free parking. We were greeted when we walked in. We were then taken into a table with menus, and then he brought a our water as well. They have a nice lunch menu. I had the wonton soup which was very good. Had bean sprouts in it. I like that and then I had the steam shu Mei . G had the pad Thai. It looked as a nice size. We were checked on a few times wound up who greeted us and served us was the owner and his wife is in the kitchen and she was out delivering dishes too. They offer lunch specials from 11 am to 3 pm of their popular entrees like pad Thai and curry dishes with a variety of protein choices for everyone. It's also great that they have many different options for papaya salad. Our server was gracious enough to note their spice levels are traditional Thai spicy levels so for me, even mild felt like a medium so beware of the hot levels! My lunch special came with a veggie spring roll, flaky outside and loaded inside. I had the pad see ew with beef. The noodles were squishy and cooked perfectly. This was an absolute great find. We were on our way to a different Thai location, however since they were such a long wait, we decided to venture out and find a different spot. Kans kitchen was near by so we went to check it out. When we arrived, there were still plenty of parking and many tables available however, as a time passed, tables got full pretty quickly and they also had a few tables reserved. This restaurant had very authentic vibes with some updated decoration. For starters we had the moo ping (pork skewers) and the pork dumplings. Both were very flavorful and arrived quickly. For main I had the crispy duck with basil sauce and came with white rice. The duck was indeed crispy, flavorful and juicy. The basil sauce I had it mild and it was super flavorful and not too spicy. The pineapple fried rice had shrimp and chicken and was also very good. Now we couldn't leave without trying the sticky mango rice for dessert which was really delicious as well. Larb ( just won Michelin star, so over crowded; go early) 2. Gai Chicken and Rice (go early, super fresh, authentic menu, interesting new items) 3. Kan Thai:our first visit, so far so good It's solid Thai food, but we have a had a bit better in flavor with faster, more attentive service. Definitely happy!! Everything looked fresh, no weird smells in the air. We tried 4 dishes on first visit. A solid 3, not quite a 5. I would give the Papaya Salad a solid 4 of 5, due to flavor! Deep lime flavor is addictive! Stop by, it's small. They are " Open Table", make a reservation. If you cant get into Larb (go before it opens), then hit my runners up. Kan is a nice alternative to getting into those busier spots! Hope they work on their service. It's strange ti be seated, then wait 10 or 15 min just sitting as they buzz around helping other tables. Saw it happened multiple times, and they all had our blank looks "where are they?" Looking forward to stopping by for more dishes. If you are looking for more to do after you eat, stop by Revelry, a bar south on Federal/ US1, near Atlantic. Great drinks, live music, medium sized. Hands-down, this is one of the best Thai restaurants in Broward County! I travel from Coconut Creek passing several restaurants to get here. My best friend actually found this place on a whim. We were driving by and noticed the name change so we gave it a shot. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife and the food is absolutely stellar! The chef must have a high BTU and a narrowly focused flame because the wok hei was real and so real that the food stayed hot for so long. Small, peaceful and quiet on a strip. Decor is a tasteful array of wall mounted wicker baskets and hanging wicker lamps. The food is some of the best Thai I have had in a LONG time - and we travel, always looking for good Thai. Freshly cooked, flavorful and so delicious! We had edamame, pad Thai, and pad see-ew. Some of the best food I've had in Florida, and definitely the best Thai restaurant in town!

I asked for mild. I like using the spice tray to add my spice. She brought out spicy and I had someone else try it and they said that it is spicy. I called her over and said this is spicy. I ordered mild and she said, no it's mild. I told her I don't want it and I would pay for it. She brought it back in a doggy bag and I said no I don't want it. There is a saying in the Yelp world and that is phones eat first. I'm sure my phone was bummed when I left it at home. My friend and I had a mixed experience. She had the Pad Thai and said her dish was as good as the Pad Thai she eats it New York. My Thai iced tea was one of the best that I've had. They may have added more condensed milk because I said I like sweet. The Tom Kha Gai was delicious. I love Panang Curry and asked for mild. I was told they could put the spice on the side. This is a hidden gem. It's a beautiful restaurant and when you walk in the staff immediately greet and welcome you and make you feel like you are at home. There were two in my party and we had multiple servers. They all work together to ensure the patrons have a relaxed and pleasant time. We were recommended a traditional dish - Khao Soo Chicken Drum and it was very good. Very flavorful, nice size and beautifully put together. We also ordered chicken Pad Thai with chicken and it tasted so good. All were great portions. To drink we had the Bangkok Sunrise and Chang beer - all tasty. The staff was amazing. Broward County is becoming a destination for Thai food. Here's yet another example of an awesome new Thai spot in town. Kan's Thai Kitchen opened 5 months ago, and after seeing the stellar reviews, I needed to come check it out. Located right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, it's near the intersection of Federal highway and Commercial Blvd. Parking is available on the side. When we entered Kan's, we were asked if we had a reservation. As most tables were empty at 6pm, I was kind of surprised by the question. Fortunately, they seated us without one because shortly later, the room filled up. Therefore, if you are considering going here on a weekend evening, you might want to make a reservation. Inside, the decor is comfortable, clean, and modern. Lots of great Thai option on the menu that are customizable. We opted for the Pad Se-Ew. I feel like it's this dish that I'm using to compare the Thai hot spots around Broward. It did not disappoint at all. Nice crunch to the fresh Chinese broccoli and the tofu was seasoned perfectly. There's an extra $1 charge for the Chinese broccoli and fresh noodle. I suggest they just make THAT the standard dish and ditch the surcharge. Perhaps offer bokchoy as an alternate. Our daughter had the wonton soup and was pleased. We also shared a brown sugar boba tea that was an amazing treat. Nice service at Kan's. I felt like having Thai for my birthday and picked Kan's due to its location and reviews. We've never been there before, but definitely will be returning. The staff was very friendly and efficient.... filled up our water multiple times without ever having to ask. For appetizer, we had fried calamari and fried dumplings..... absolutely delicious. The calamari was my favorite, I could tell it was super fresh. My husband had the drunken noodles with chicken, I had the Panang curry with chicken and my friend had sweet & sour chicken. All of the dishes were superb. Next time, I want to have the drunken noodles. I can't wait to try several new dishes. The restaurant itself was very clean. I loved the decor and basket lamps. We came for an early dinner after being at an appointment nearby. The restaurant was fairly empty at the time. Only two large parties dining in. The menu is large and includes Thai and some sushi offerings. We weren't that hungry, so we only had a few items. We both had a small house green salad to start. It came with copious amounts of ginger dressing. My husband had some soup with shrimp. He said it was good. After that, he had their salmon California roll. He said it was good. I'd wanted to try their marinated grilled pork skewers but was told they are marinated with pineapple juice in the mix and I'm allergic. I switched to their chicken satay skewers. There were four wooden skewers to the order. And it came with a peanut dipping sauce. The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce helped although it wasn't my favorite. Thai Good variety of sushi rolls. The sushi was delicious. The wasabi was fresh. You could tell because it was soft. The soy sauce tasted like it was brewed. The ginger was a good finish. The service was great. Very attentive. An extensive wine list great local Thai selections plus the regulars like Pad Thai and Satay. My soup was really good. It had a strong but not forceful flavor. The broth is very creamy with a very smooth consistency...the coconut milk was present but not overpowering. The meat was tender and the two noodles (crunchy and soft) complemented the broth perfectly. The tofu Pad se Ew was flavourful and the tofu was cooked to perfection. Not too hard, not too soft. Goldilocks would have approved!! The decor is warm and welcoming. The hanging baskets on the ceiling that serve as lighting provided enough light to read the menu without using my phone as a flashlight. The baskets in the wall were tastefully done and I will be copying them for my dining room wall. $60 for two entrees and a sushi roll. Not bad for Florida. read more
