I'm not rating the kanda sushi bar, but the chinese restaurant downstairs in the basement! It's probably my fave canto place in montreal. The dishes are delicious everytime we go there. They have many kinds of fresh seafood and you can choose which flavor to combine then with. The staff is always friendly and nice. The place is pretty clean, even if it's in the basement.

All you eat sushi. It was good and great for lunch. The overall experience is pretty good for the area especially. Everything is made to order and good. This place is great for groups, even big groups and ideally you can team eat. Enjoy!

My favorite all you can eat sushi in Montréal. Taking into account the quantity, quality and price. They have different menus depending if it's lunch or diner. At night the choice is larger including dumplings, but it's pricier. It's full most of the time, even during the week, so if you have requests, you will need to ask them several times. And the toilets are not always clean.

OMG! Forget the sushi bar and head downstairs to the Chinese restaurant. I assume it's owned by the same people, but the food quality is entirely different. This place is amazing! I passed by probably hundreds of times and never knew what was going on in the basement. Hidden down there is a truly wonderful place with very standard Chinese dishes but the key is really asking what is good. Our favorite dishes of the night were the crab and shrimp, recommended by the waiter. As the photos show, we got Salt and Pepper Fried Soft-Shelled Crab, Beef Fried Rice, Fried Pork Intestines, Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce, and Jumbo Shrimp - Hong Kong Style. They excel at seafood here, so make sure to order a few dishes to try. The intestine preparation was ok, but it's not what we expected and forgetting that every other item was delicious. This is a restaurant going on my rotation from now on.

Sushi for 12 people!

First time at this place and it was amazing! After 3 sold months of midterms, my class decided to celebrate by getting sushi. We were 60 people who came. We made reservations in advance for a Friday. When i got here, i was quickly escorted to my table where most of my classmates were already talking and ordering. We had more than enough space and the waiters added more tables as more people showed up. I'm used to ordering at sushi buffets using iPads, but here, they have a big list on paper and you write the quantity you want. If you're a small party, it's fairly simple to order. Service was very quick. We got our food in less than 15min and all the same kind of things arrived together. (Ex. All the sushi and sashimi came at the same time and all the tempura came together) The food was exquisite. Some of the best sushi I've ever had! The hot and sour soup was not the best though. I hear the miso was quite tasty. The ice cream was also great. The only problem is that since there aren't pictures or descriptions, so people who haven't had a lot of sushi experience might feel overwhelmed by all the choices. Ah, and I feel the need to add that the decor was quite stunning! It was very rustic, yet clean. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this place. But be forewarned: prices during weekends are pretty steep. My meal came to 39$ (after tax and tip, excluding alcohol, since we brought our own wine). (I'd like to apologize on my class's behalf to anyone we may have disturbed on Friday. Please don't penalize the restaurant for our noise!)

The place was always full before. But the price went up so much, weekday lunch became more expensive than weekend dinning

We showed up at 5:30 without a reservation and I wasn't sure we'd be able to snag a table. And honestly, if we had gotten there 15 minutes later, we probably would have had a long wait. So far, so good. We were seated at a table near the sushi bar and there was a vibration coming through the floor that was loud and a bit unpleasant. The prices were a little high which was a little off putting. But, we saw a couple of options - like a sushi boat - on their website ... but it turns out that is only for takeout, which is just weird. Service was slow and the wait staff disappeared at times. Normally, these things would have me deducting stars. But can I just say that the food was so darn good that I can overlook all of it. It was absolutely outstanding. Vegan sushi rich with umami. Rich with flavor. We didn't miss the fish.

The food: delicious, creative, beautiful presentation, plentiful. My carnivore partner didn't miss the fish at all. We have a vegan sushi restaurant near us, but Bloom is better. I really appreciate the ease of booking and how I didn't have to think about what people were going to order. One hiccup was that I had indicated ahead of time that one of the guests had a seafood allergy, which I understand can be difficult for Japanese restaurant. I had expected them to tailor the $70 menu to her, however, they let us know that it was gonna be difficult and instead asked her to pick from the à la carte menu. She had no problem with this, but I felt bad and didn't want her to think that I had an indicated ahead of time of her dietary restriction. Overall, the meal was good. It was a little bit slow to start coming out. I think our total dining time was over two hours which was fine because we were celebrating something but for the first 30 minutes I feel like no food came out. A little bit on the salty side, but I enjoyed every dish. For the price point I think it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group dinner again. The high top tables weren't the most comfortable for such a large group as we were essentially split in two, but for a group of 6-8 it would be perfect!

We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.

Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. The bartenders and staff were very friendly and accommodating, managing to snag me a much coveted bar spot without a prior reservation.

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful!
