Knocking one star because we ordered to go to Charleston and they forgot a few items on our meal plus no silverware napkins. Outside of that Sushi was fantastic! unique rolls & great flavor. Basil roll and crab Rangoon was good as well. Very fresh!

We had a really nice experience here. $50 to choose 4 specialty rolls was a bargain! Plus seaweed salad, soup and spring rolls. Take a friend and spot it or splurge and take home leftovers. The staff is friendly, the service is swift and the food is pretty great! You can also order from the Thai place as they're connected, making for a good time for all even if you don't enjoy sushi! The rainbow roll, smokey and salmon were my favorites. Also, the cucumber salmon option was great! The inside is spacious and allows for different types of seating no matter what your preference-- table, bar or booth n

This place had very good, fresh sushi, was clean, and the staff was so friendly and attentive! They even gave us some chopstick helpers for my 6 year old to use. We got 3 specialty rolls and 2 basic rolls for about $60, which I would consider to be a fantastic price. We will definitely come back here again.

Masterful sushi chef running a cozy restaurant with a sushi bar, table service and a connection with Taste of Thai next door. It's a comfortable, cozy spot with easy to listen to background music love songs in Asian decor. I've enjoyed sushi by the piece, seaweed salad, tuna rolls, and combination sushi dinners. Everything has been excellent including service

Cute restaurant, but the sushi was definitely below par. The rice tasted overcooked and slightly burnt, void of moisture, which unfortunately was my entire plate of nigiri and makizushi. The fish was ok, not bad but didn't exactly melt on your tongue.

The sushi was super fresh and tasted amazing. We would definitely eat here again. The service was fast, and the food was presented beautifully.

David is the best! His sushi is on par with places 5 times the price. Can't find anything better in CHS for this price. Enough said.

Lunch special, 3 rolls and miso soup for 16 dollars!

This place is AMAZING!!! sushi was so fresh and tasty. Definitely one of the best I've ever had. Will for sure be back!!!

Everyone was so nice. Food didn't take long at all to come, and it was one of the best sushi I've had in a while!!

Then on to the issues here are the following: The hostess with the most-ess and the failed system of reservations and lack there of, no matter how far out you plan in accordance becomes a major debacle when arriving and leaves a poor taste in your mouth. Not to mention the huge snarky attitudes and negative undertones received from the hostess's staff. Literally, I witnessed the young black female this past Saturday evening, Kamaya, I believe is her name display a fake disposition, associated with a fake smile and then spoke negatively of patrons behind their backs, under her breath. I get it, they can't control diners who linger around after being serve and or can't control or predict, when they decide to leave so others are able to be seated and served in a timely fashion. But, I would suggest, to always remain very transparent and do not force bogus rules of rushing a party to arrive early and then convey a message that states your table will be held for 10 minutes and then released/ cancelled. When a party, such as ourselves, arrive before time and then are told that your party will not be seated until all parties are INSIDE the building, even though they are trying to find a park in this small parking lot. Finally, all parties of your group are present and accounted for, standing in your face still within the time frame mentioned. Then to be told, you now have a few tables ahead of you and the wait is approximately 20 minutes. Really? But in actuality you and your guests now wait 40 to 45 minutes after your scheduled reservation. All the while witnessing them seat random small parties that walk in after your large group with an actual reservation. I know this because I listened as I stood idly by the hostess desk. One or the management of this establishment need to focus on revamping this failed system and have some of your hostess to work on their attitudes. Last I checked, it is patrons such as myself that keeps them employed and your business successful and thriving. Also, a word to all other patrons, if you desire a table greater than a party of 12, prepare to pay a deposit of $10 pp but you still will probably have to wait for your reserved tables. The only thing that made me come back to this place was a special request from my daughter for her birthday and our amazing Chef Marcelino, and Gee, our server was pretty cool as well. Needless to say, with all of the hoops, unnecessary rules and lack of communication, unwarranted attitudes, rehearsed apologies and lack of organizational skills, it will be a while before we return to this establishment, if at all! There are too many restaurants here in the Low Country who strive for professionalism and actually value their patrons without the blatant disrespect from their hostess desk. I would give, 5 stars for Marcelino and Gee but 1 star for the hostess desk! Do better!

We sat at the sushi bar, which I highly recommend, and from the moment we sat down it was clear we were in good hands. We were surprised right away with a complimentary amuse‑bouche--crab stick rolled with salmon--which was a thoughtful and delicious touch. To start, I ordered the seaweed salad while Justin went with the ginger salad; both were fresh, balanced, and a perfect lead‑in to the sushi. For the main event, I ordered a spicy tuna roll and eel nigiri, and this is where Zen really shined. The spicy tuna roll was exactly what sushi lovers hope for--very light on rice and heavy on fish, something that's surprisingly hard to find around Charleston. The eel nigiri was rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Justin ordered several pieces of sashimi and was equally impressed. We asked about albacore tuna (unfortunately unavailable), but were told the salmon was excellent--and moments later, we were unexpectedly served two additional pieces of sushi each. Completely unexpected and incredibly appreciated, especially for a birthday celebration. Between the quality of the fish, attention to detail, and warm hospitality, Zen Asian Fusion absolutely won us over. We've officially found our new sushi spot and can't wait to come back.

Once you do find it though-aaaah the food is devine. The chef at this establishment goes out of his way to prepare dishes that sing to you. Every single bite of every single dish was a pleasure from the watermelon and feta salad to the gnocchi to the fish to the duck. My husband and I were in heaven. We don't usually order dessert but why not? The roasted blueberries on some sort of amazing cake and ice cream was delicious, of course! DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!

This visit we found they no longer offer their cocktails, which was a disappointment because it was one of the reasons we came out. The daily menu cannot be found and for a $200 dinner, I'd like to know what will be available. This night a few things on the menu were not available, which also gives one pause. That being said we loved the Yellowtail, and the Baby Romaine was delicious!!! Brisket, was bland and dry, and at $32..a shame to serve. Not sure where the English pea and potatoes were. The sesame noodles were wet, drippy, and had no flavor. We'd go back in a heart beat for dessert. While it wasn't what was supposed to be offered, the passion fruit sorbet and the toasted blueberry/cake compote were sublime. The meals here are to be like a tapas, and shared, which really raises the prices. And since each plate may be one bite each for 4 people, you can see how quickly your bill will climb. Sharing a weekly menu on the website and bring back your amazing cocktail menu would be nice. Folks should try this place for their own opinion, but with so many spots around, twice may be enough for us.
