Do NOT shop here. Dishonest. They sell stones with bogus appraisals/gradings. They sold me a stone with an EGL USA appraisal/grading... total garbage. Over a dozen other jewelers have told me that this appraisal/grading is trash. EGL is used by dishonest jewelers. EGL inflates the rating on stones so these types of con artists can overcharge you. Just Google GIA vs. EGL grading and see for yourself. Now I am stuck with a stone that I can not sell for even HALF of what I paid. I have called them several times, and of course, THEY are not willing to pay what they say it's worth. Shame on me for not doing more research, and shame on this shop for their dishonesty. read more

The attitude that this company provides toward customers is appalling. I've never experienced a "Pretty Woman" situation in real life. But, the young man who was customer facing on September 30th was so arrogant and dismissive, it was a handbook description of what NOT to do (even in a luxury situation). My partner had an innocent question to help with his marriage proposal the next day and was treated horrifyingly. We are more than capable of affording your products and are even looking to custom design our ring in the next few months and we will never be approaching this place. Be kinder. My husband and I bought my wedding/engagement ring at the Kennewick branch, wanting to work with a local company rather than a big national chain store. For a while, we were happy. They always greeted us warmly when we came in, and they cleaned and inspected my ring every 6 months. My ring has intricate filigree and small diamonds in the band, and they quickly and easily took care of it when one of the small diamonds fell out. When the Kennewick branch closed, I had to start sending my ring through the mail to the Tacoma branch for its semi-annual cleaning and inspection. I have had NOTHING BUT TROUBLE since. They tried to start charging me for shipping my ring back to me (the Kennewick branch always sent it back for free). When another of the small diamonds fell out, they indicated that they might not replace it. Recently, they stopped providing tracking numbers for the shipment and, since they also did not notify me that they had sent the ring back to me, I did not have any way of knowing when the ring would arrive. I had to play a guessing game and I still missed the delivery. When I tried to speak with a representative about it, their response was: "It's up to you if you want to continue with our service." They may have good prices, but if you value customer service, I would look elsewhere. read more

We went into this companies show room looking for a wedding set, and the gentleman behind the counter was nice enough to show us what they had. I can say that we had set a 5k budget on a ring, told them that and were shown pretty much everything but what was in our range, being told if you want a quality stone and setting it won't be below that level. I'm thinking this was an up-sale tactic, and what I have found is that seems to be the case in just about every store we found on the westside of the state. Overall we ended up going over to my fiancee's hometown (Spokane) and they had no problem finding a certified diamond (For clarification, it ended up as a 3/4 ct. VS 2, H color and ideal round cut) and setting for under our budget. Did Kantor have diamonds in that range? No idea, they literally didn't show them to me or try to sell me one in my price range. But you would figure a store in this economy would like to earn business, even if it is only a 5k ring. Biggest bug to me was towards the end of our trip, I believe one of the owners stepped out to greet us. Seems very nice, but she went off about how they got some horrible review on one of these sites (may have even been yelp...who knows!). That is where I'd say the unprofessional quality steps out, if you have a gripe about how one of your customers reviews you, keep it to yourself please? All that makes me wonder is what you are really thinking about me and my sale to your company. In my opinion, there are better stores out there folks..... good luck! read more

I bought my fiance's ring here. I Pinterest stalked my girlfriend and found the ring she wanted. It was a Gabriel and Co ring that only Kantor offers here in Washington. I went in fully expecting to buy my center stone online and purchase the ring/setting from Kantor. After I called to make sure they carried the ring, I set up an appointment with Briana. She could tell I had done my research online, but wanted to educate me a bit further so that I was making a good decision about my online diamond. That's right, she was educating me on how to buy my diamond from another vendor. She just wanted to make sure I was making an informed decision (awesome!). That took me back a bit, in a good way. I finished up my appointment with her and left Kantor with a good feeling, a quote for a setting, and some new tools for my online experience. I finally found the Diamond I wanted online, and e-mailed the specs to Briana. I wanted to give her a chance to find a comparable diamond at a comparable price. She got back to me with some options, but none were quite right. (Did I mention that I am picky?) She then got Michelle Kantor involved. I believe she is a co-owner at the store. She had looked at my specs and within 1 day, had a list of about 8 diamonds to choose from. They were really nice, but not quite what I wanted. (I did mention that I am picky...right?). Finally, Michelle and Briana brought in David Kantor to the mix. (he is the founder) Within 4 hours of my reply to Michelle I had a quote for a diamond that EXCEEDED my online diamond in terms of the 4C's AND it was cheaper! Not only did I get a better diamond, but I got a better price. This showed me the commitment that Kantor has to their customers. I went in last weekend to take a look at the stone and was blown away. I kept making Briana take it out for me to look at. I know it will look great on my fiance's finger. I am now waiting for the ring to be delivered and set on site at the Kantor shop. I can't wait! Selection was great, diamond is amazing, Briana was great, Michelle was great David was great and the price was unbeatable. It was the exact kind of experience I was hoping for from my engagement ring purchase. Great job team! I would highly recommend Kantor to friends and family. read more

The ring is not what I ordered. I definitely did OK a wax mold. I went in your store in Kennewick around 5 times to ensure the wax was what we wanted. The ring I got was not what I approved. Again, you don't believe me and there is nothing I can do about that. Your staff has been very responsive, but not helpful in solving this problem. David's yelp response is the first time I'd heard any of those options. I was never offered re-doing the ring, nor was I offered adjusting the ring. I had actually specifically asked for both of these things and both were denied. The disagreement on what was approved is unfair because nobody in Tacoma knows what was said between Kennewick employees and I, nor do you know what the wax I approved looked like. I am upset about the store closing, I think that is clear. But David is correct in stating that stores do close sometimes and that is life, timing just happened to be very unfortunate for me. My frustration is actually centered around Kantor not caring that I got the correct custom ring. Like I previously said, it is an attractive ring, but it is not what I approved. I did, however, find another company that is going to correct the wrongs and fix this disaster for me. Now we can all move on :) read more

I had a terrible experience at Kantor. I chose Kantor Diamond Co. mainly because of the good reviews on this site. However, from the minute I walked in the door I felt out of place and judged. I came in to buy an engagement ring using the diamond from my great grandmother's wedding ring. She wore it for 65 years. Rene, the salesperson (sp?) was unkind. He scoffed at the diamond and made disparaging comments about it's size and quality. While i realize the diamond is maybe not the highest quality, i expressed how sentimental it was. He then said "I'm channeling your grandmother and she's telling me to send you over to that case [the case with new diamonds]". He showed me only one setting, that i have since learned was not going to adequately secure the diamond. Since then I have had to get it reset, and obviously chose another jeweler to do that work. He was similarly dismissive and rude when i picked the ring up. I would not recommend working with Rene to anyone. Honestly, i felt shamed, embarrassed, judged and ended up with a sub-par product that needed to be fixed elsewhere. If he is an indication of the quality of service provision at Kantor, i would not recommend the company either. This should have been an exciting experience laden with the sentiment of my grandmother's ring that is to become the ring worn by my best friend and partner for the rest of my life. Instead it was the absolute opposite of that. Please go elsewhere. read more

Went to get my ring sized. Very friendly sales rep. But when the owner saw my diamond she wanted all the documents on it. This didn't feel right at all. I didn't ask for a appraisal. Questioned me about my diamond. I'm aware I have a Moissanite diamond. She couldn't fully tell until I told her. I researched and I'm proud of what we picked! I was made to feel it was cheep and that there was a film to hind the type of diamond I have. My diamond was not Cheep! Just because it was not 50k. Also tried to tell me it would blow up as they tried to size my ring. Which is completely false!! She should learn to do her research to know about the type of diamond I have. It's ok if your company doesn't want to size my ring. But have some knowledge first before making comments that are not to be true. Know they are coming out with man made diamonds interesting. We took my ring somewhere else where I should have gone in the first place. Who knows all about my diamond. We will never go back due to how the owner responded to us. read more

The ring we ordered is absolutely stunning, classic and elegant, and came in well ahead of schedule. The staff was genuinely excited to present us with the ring when we picked it up, which made for a very, very special experience.
